(Update: 6/8/2022) Hi, everyone! The first three chapters are going to be undergoing some revisions. I'll put a note at the beginning of each if anything major has been changed within the chapter. Thanks for reading!

In the beginning there was nothing. A vast expanse of cold waters stretched onward without limits. This primordial substance was known as Nun which churned endlessly without purpose. There was no light, there was no warmth. Time had no power or meaning here. For countless eons this void of darkness reigned supreme.

Until…something stirred. A single glimmer of light rose up from within Nun. Fearful of change, the waters tried to swallow it back, but the spark grew ever brighter. Two beings, the god Atum, and the goddess Iusaaset, emerged from this shimmering light. Using their great power, they drove back Nun. Their aura filled the void with warmth thus drying up the earth. Upon the dry land their children, Shu and Tefnut, were born. At first, the four were happy alone together. However, their role as creation deities soon began to call out to them.

Upon Atum's command, Shu separated the sky from the earth with Tefnut's support. In the space of separation, Iusaaset planted a sapling. Dubbed the Persea Tree by the Divine Ones, each leaf that sprouted represented a living creature. The first mortals that sprang from the tree were in awe of their creators. Atum gifted each and every one of them a lifeforce stemming from his own Ka. Blessed with this gift, the mortals descended to their own realm accompanied by Shu and Tefnut. From there they were taught the principle of Ma'at, or the balance of their world. With their creation roles completed, Atum and Iusaaset looked on from above as they tended to the sacred tree.

As time wore on, old leaves fell being replaced with new. The Persea Tree stood as a pillar for all life no matter how great or small. Creation had taken place in an empty void and would continue to do so until the waters of Nun prevailed once again.
