Bones Exposed - Epilogue

Clouds aren't easy to see in the night sky, but Marshall Lee finds great amusement in watching sheer silver puffs float in an inky ocean. They only dim the stars slightly as they pass over them, producing an effect almost like twinkling. The moon is bright and waning crescent, and the clouds' attempt to hide it is futile. It's not the cleanest option, but the grass makes a pretty darn cozy surface to lay on as he admires the darkness.

An outstretched pink hand blocks his view.

Marshall Lee looks at his lover with only his eyes.

"Stop goofing off. We're going to be late." Moonlight illuminates Bubba from behind, surrounding him with an ethereal white glow. The little gleam it gives his crown is especially neat. He kinda looks like a guardian angel reaching down from the Heavens.

Damn, how exactly did Marshall Lee get so lucky again?

"So what? Isn't being fashionably late a good thing? Especially when it's your own party?" Marshall Lee asks as he takes the prince's hand. He dusts himself off once he's standing.

"No. Tardiness is a sign of irresponsibility."

"You really need to loosen up a little, Your Highness. Tonight's supposed to fun. Oh, I know! How about before we make our grand entrance, we-"

Purple irises cut him off with a cold glare. "Don't you even think about finishing that request."

He laughs.

Bubba rolls his eyes with an accompanying sigh. "Please just hurry up, Marshall Lee." He turns and walks off towards his castle.

Marshall Lee takes a second to admire the receding figure before following.

Author's Note: And that's that! It feels kinda weird having finished this after all this time? But I'm glad I was finally able to do it. I kept everyone waiting for way too long.

Looking back at older chapters, I don't think the direction this went in was actually the one I initially meant for it to, but here we are. :p I also feel like I rushed a few parts, but I'm not sure if that's because of how quickly I was able to get the last several chapters out or not. I don't think it turned out too horribly despite these things, though.

Thank you all so much for reading!
