Jay couldn't remember the last time he was this happy. It was kinda ridiculous just how over the moon he was but he truly felt like he had everything he wanted at his fingertips. He had a great career doing something he absolutely loved, he was talking to Will more regularly again, he had his health and he was also building up his savings nicely. Last but certainly not least, he and Erin were together.

That was something he still needed time to fully come to terms with. After pining and longing for her for such a long time, he had almost lost hope that he and Erin would ever be together the way he wanted them to be. Erin was aloof and reserved on the surface and it took him chipping at those walls that she had put up for a long time before she had let him in. He had always known it would be worth it. Now that she had let him in, he was right.

"Oof." He grunted when Erin's leg wrapped around him suddenly and the next thing he knew, she was pulling him into her arms. She was still sleeping but she was clutching him like he was a pillow. That was a pretty damn good place to be. He tried to keep his laugh quiet when she started mumbling something in her sleep, something he noticed she did a lot as of late. It was a new habit of hers and Jay briefly wondered if it was because she had something on her mind.

He knew that it wasn't easy for her to go against Voight's orders and choose to be with him. For a while, Jay had thought that Voight would always stand in between him and Erin and that Erin would always let Voight dictate her life out of sheer loyalty to the older man. But she took him by surprise that night at Molly's and they had pretty much been inseparable ever since. Days were spent at work, just trying to remain professional when all he wanted to do was kiss her every second of every day. Nights were spent at his place— on his couch and in his bed. Nadia was staying with Erin so his place was where they could get privacy and freedom to be a couple. It was pretty safe to say that Jay had carved himself out a place in her life and if he had his choice, he was never leaving. Voight might have other thoughts about that but Jay couldn't find it in himself to care.

Right now, he just wanted to hold his girlfriend and sleep.

They had developed a routine. In a span of two weeks, they had settled into their new relationship enough to have a morning routine. Jay would wake first and shower before rousing Erin out of sleep with his kisses; on her cheeks for easy mornings, on her lips for those really hard to wake Erin up mornings, but never on her forehead. Erin wasn't a fan of forehead morning kisses, claiming that those saccharine smooches just made her feel more cozy and sleepy. Then while Erin showered, Jay would get the coffee started because Erin's mornings were better with coffee, which also meant Jay's mornings were better with coffee.

The hardest part was getting Erin to eat something for breakfast. Erin was a big foodie in general— one of the reasons why they just got along so well— but for some reason, she was never big on breakfast and usually opted to fill up on coffee instead. But Jay would try to make something appetizing enough for her to eat. They had very demanding jobs, after all, and there were days where lunch breaks weren't an option. How could he, as a good boyfriend, let his girlfriend starve? After that, Erin would go back to her place to get a new set of clothes and head to the station, despite Jay telling her to keep some of her clothes here. They were still trying to be careful with their new relationship and trying to be discreet. That meant they couldn't arrive together every morning. Platt seemed to know everything and if they entered the station together side by side often enough, she would be on them like a hound.

"Mmm, I smell coffee." Jay spun around to find Erin coming out of the bedroom, her head focused on putting her belt on. When she was close enough, Jay reached for her by looping his finger around her not yet fastened belt loop and tugged her close to him. Erin braced herself on his chest as he dropped his head to give her a proper good morning kiss. Erin smiled into the kiss, releasing soft content sounds that went straight to Jay's heart. He loved those sounds.

"Morning," he drawled as he pulled away. Erin was looking up at him with soft eyes that he just couldn't help but kiss her again.

"I'm going to be late," Erin said in between kisses and all Jay could do was mutter 'don't care' before wrapping his arms around her to pull her closer to him. "Jay."

Jay broke the kiss and dropped his head on her shoulder. "Mmm. we should call in for a personal day," he whispered. "Let's just call in sick and just spend the whole day in bed."

"That won't be suspicious to Voight at all," Erin murmured, scratching his head with her fingers.

"We're detectives and we go undercover all the time. We can totally pull off being fake sick." Jay returned, daring her to argue against his good point.

She gave him a peeved look. "Did you forget everyone we work with will be able to see right through that?" Jay just groaned, lamenting about the downside of working with other detectives. They were all equally astute and would see a fake act coming a mile away. He heard Erin sighed as her face lost the playfulness from just seconds ago and he grew concerned.

"What is it?" Erin started to shake her head but he stopped her. "I know there's something going on with you. You can talk to me." If Erin was having second thoughts about them, then he needed to know. Even though worry filled him, he tried to keep his face neutral. He didn't want to guilt Erin into staying with him. "Is it us?"

Erin's eyes widened and she looked at him worriedly. "Oh god, no," she denied immediately and her arms came around his neck and she started playing with the hair on the nape of his neck. "No, it's not about us." She gave him a quick kiss for more reassurance and rested her forehead against his face and he laid a peck on her forehead.

"What is it then? You're talking in your sleep a lot and you've never done that. What's on your mind?"

She sighed. "I'm worried about Hank. Not about us being together," she added quickly before he got the wrong thought again. "I think he's hiding something."

"Isn't that pretty standard for him?" Jay winced when the question slipped out. He was trying to be sensitive and accusing Voight of being shady when Erin seemed worried about him definitely wasn't the way to go.

"I guess." Erin didn't look mad or annoyed, just troubled. "He has another meeting at the Ivory Tower today. That's his third in two weeks."

"Maybe they're just trying to get under the whole Jin murder. Find out who actually murdered him. Did Voight tell you what those meetings are about?"

Erin shook her head. "And isn't that weird? The Voight we know would never let any other unit take over Jin's case. We should be the ones out there searching for his killer. But Hank is just going to let some other unit take the case? I'm telling you, Jay, there's something else going on."

He agreed with Erin. Jay knew that Voight was never really too fond of Jin but he thought Voight would at least cared enough about his team members to lead the search on who killed him. But Voight had rebuffed every request made by the team to take the case on. "If I know Voight well enough then I know that no matter what he has going on, he's not going to tell you."

"That's your helpful advice?" Erin asked him, a small pout on her lips.

He wished he had better advice to give Erin or he knew what was going on with Voight so he could reassure Erin not to worry but he was shit out of luck on both. Jay knew Erin was loyal to Voight and regarded him as the closest thing to her father. If Jay had his choice, he'd rather Erin put more distance between herself and Voight. Jay might not have known completely what was going on with him, but he knew whatever it was it couldn't have been good.

His assumptions seemed to be on the right track when Voight threw a hissy fit in the middle of the bullpen. Poor unsuspecting Atwater just happened to ask an innocent question— the wrong one apparently— and Voight blew a fuse. For a guy that demanded professionalism from his team, Jay thought Voight was pretty damn unprofessional himself.

The eventful morning was capped off with an undercover sting where Adam almost died. They got a case on their hand, one that Al looked pretty invested in. But the only thing that occupied Jay's mind at the moment was the envelope that Platt had given him when he walked into the station earlier.

He had stuffed the envelope with the cryptic message from beyond in his desk drawer and tried to pay attention as Erin debriefed the current case. Jay tried to get Erin's attention discreetly after the debriefing was over but she was pretty focused on her work.

"Erin, there's a Bunny on the phone for you." Nadia's announcement had Erin's head spinning towards the girl in shock and Jay was intrigued. Then it clicked for Jay when he remembered that Bunny was her mom's name and that she was calling Erin. As far as he knew, Erin and her mom hadn't talked for a few years now. Erin looked flustered by the sudden contact too and Jay tried getting her attention again. This time Erin noticed and they went into the locker room for some privacy.

"What's up?" Erin asked as she looked around the room to make sure they were alone. Jay wanted to ask her what was up with her mom but the flash drive was weighing like a million pounds in his pocket. So he took it out and showed it to Erin.

"Jin sent it to me."

"What's on the drive?" Erin asked.

"I haven't checked it yet."

"Show it to Voight," Erin suggested.

"Not until I know what's on it." Jay put the flash drive back in the envelope. While Erin might have full trust in Voight, Jay wasn't on the same level as her. Jin trusted him for a reason and he owed it to his friend to actually find out what was on the flash drive before he gave it to Voight. Erin looked unsure about his resolve but she didn't argue with him on it. Jay suspected that it was because she had something on her mind too.

"Why is your mom calling you?" Jay asked her as they walked back to the bullpen.

Erin shrugged. "Your guess is as good as mine." Her tone sounded clipped, basically telling Jay that she wasn't ready to talk about it.

"You know I'm here, right?" Jay reminded her. That got her to crack a smile and she nodded, giving him arm a squeeze.

It took a lot of pleading and his best charm to convince Platt to lend out a laptop to him for the day but Jay needed to know what was on the flash drive immediately. He sure as hell wasn't going to watch it on his computer in the bullpen in front of Voight. While Jay didn't really think that Voight had anything to do with Jin's murder, there was still a part of him that wouldn't put anything past his Sergeant.

"So what's on the drive?" Erin asked after he closed the laptop.

Jay glanced at her, troubled. "Did you know that Jin was working with IA?"

"I didn't."

Jay hesitated before asking her the next question, knowing there was a chance of Erin not taking it well. "Any shot Voight was mixed up with them?"

Erin was surprised by his question before she broke out in a scoff, finding his question ridiculous. "Don't get stupid on me now, Jay." She gave him another incredulous look as she exited the car.

Jay tsked, confused about what was truly going on. Whatever he had expected to be on the flash drive, it certainly wasn't Jin working with IA and some suit threatening to kill him. He knew who Jin's killer was now but the question remained what was he going to do with the information.

For some inexplicable reason, Jay trusted Voight. That was why he had given the flash drive to him, thinking that he would do the right thing with it. But as the day passed and there was still no progress about Jin's case, Jay was starting to regret putting his trust in the man. Impatient and pretty pissed off by this point, Jay confronted him.

"So? What's the plan?"

Voight wasn't expecting Jay to just barge into his office. "Regarding?"

Jay scoffed, his hands cocked on his hips. "The thumb drive I gave you. When's Stillwell from Internal Affairs getting popped?"

"Yeah, well. There's a lot of moving parts. It's gonna take some time," Voight replied coolly, barely giving Jay a glance.

Jay, on the other hand, was getting heated. He knew Voight was giving him the go around when he saw it. "I don't understand."

"And you don't need to. I'm on top of it."

Jay's jaw worked. "Okay, great," he spat. "I'd like to have the thumb drive back, Sergeant."

"It's late. Go home."

"I'd like to have the thumb drive back—"

"No." Voight's tone was final and Jay stormed out. He grabbed his jacket from his chair and stomped off down the stairs, too consumed with his anger to even acknowledge Erin as he was leaving. As soon as he got into his car, Erin was calling him.

"What's going on?" her voice came through as soon as he picked up the call. "Are you okay?"

Jay took a few deep breaths, attempting to reign in his anger. "No." He could still hear the anger in his voice and he exhaled.

"Where are you?" Erin asked.

Jay rubbed his face. He had wanted to leave Erin out of the whole thing. He didn't want to keep putting Erin in the middle of his problems with Voight. It wasn't fair to her but he needed to talk to someone. Someone he could trust and Erin was it. "Can you meet me at Molly's?"

"I'm leaving now," Erin replied, without even hesitating. "Jay, be careful driving."

Her concern for him actually had him cracking a smile, his anger and frustration beginning to ebb away. "I'll be careful," he promised.

"Hey." Erin slipped into the bar stool next to him. He could see curiosity and concern in her eyes and Jay turned to face her.

"So let me ask you something. Straight up. Do you think there's any shot that Voight was involved with Jin's murder?"

Erin looked at him like he lost his mind. "Are you out of your mind?"

"That's an answer to a different question,"

"No." Erin stated vehemently, not even acknowledging his joke. "There's no way he's involved."

"Yeah, well. He's gonna bury the case, for God knows what reason," he returned.

"Why? What reason would he have?" Erin questioned.

Erin truly sounded like she believed Voight wasn't capable of being involved. Like she actually couldn't fathom Voight playing a role in Jin's murder or that he would bury the case. It had Jay snapping. "Do you really think that you know everything about this guy?" Jay asked bluntly.

Erin cocked her eyebrow at his outburst. "What was on the flash drive?"

Hermann came to hand Erin her usual brew and it was only then that Jay realized that perhaps a busy bar wasn't the best place to have this conversation. "Can we go home?"

"Yeah, okay." Erin nodded. "Nadia's staying late at work because she wants time to settle in. We can go back to my place."

"What's going on?" Erin asked as soon as they stepped into her place. Jay threw himself on the couch and covered his face with his arm. He felt the couch dipped next to him when Erin sat down and she stroked his thighs.

He sighed. "The flash drive that Jin sent me, it had who killed him on it," Jay revealed.

He heard Erin inhale a sharp breath. "Who is it?"

Jay looked at Erin and saw a bit of worry on her face, like it might've been Voight. "It's Stillwell from I.A."

"Who?"

"You know that suit that came to check up on us when we had that raid a while back?" Erin nodded when the memory hit her. "He had been leaning on Jin to get dirt on Voight and when Jin didn't deliver as he wanted, Stillwell started threatening him. He told Jin that he would kill him the exact way that Jin died."

Erin wet her lips. "Wow." She ran her fingers through her hair. "And you gave the thumb drive to Hank?"

"Yeah but he's not going to do anything with it. He's just going to let Stillwell walk."

"Why would he do that?"

He gave Erin a flat look. "Really Erin? There's one reason why Voight would bury the evidence."

"You think Stillwell has something on Hank?" Jay just shrugged, pretty much confirming Erin's theory. "What could he have on Hank?"

"That's the million dollar question." He sat up straighter and rested his hand on her thigh. "I know you trust the man, Erin but you gotta face the truth here. There's something big going on that none of us know about. Voight getting called into Ivory Tower every so often, Stillwell showing up at our raid when he's I.A, Jin getting murdered. We're missing a huge piece of information and Voight's been keeping it from us."

Erin dropped her face in her hands but she nodded. "Yeah," she agreed with him. Jay sighed and shifted closer to her. He didn't want to make Erin feel bad. He rubbed her back gently, trying to comfort her. "You're right."

"I'm sorry."

She shook her head. "No. I know Hank is hiding something from me. I mean, I can't really speak because I haven't exactly been honest with him either. I've been trying to distance myself from him the past few weeks."

"Erin, Jin's murder is a lot different than us being together and our relationship."

She just gave him a flat look that said she knew that. "I just don't know what happened. Hank has always been the one person I can tell everything to- bad, good, illegal. But ever since I became a cop and been in Intelligence—-" she trailed off. "I don't know. It's just different now."

Jay caressed her shoulder with his thumb, needing some sort of contact with her during this heavy conversation. "You grew up, Erin. You're no longer that 15 years old that needed his help." Jay knew that he needed to choose his words carefully here. His real feelings about Erin's relationship with Voight aside, Erin needed his support. And listening to her vent was the only way he knew to go about giving his support. Erin would just shut down if he was too forceful and blunt. It was a balancing act. "Erin, I know you love him and you see him as a father. You've looked up to him for almost half of your life. I'm sorry but you gotta know that Voight is a man of many secrets. He was sent to prison as a cop for a reason."

He felt Erin tense under his touch and he braced himself for her to lash out at him. But she didn't. Instead, she just melted and fell into his waiting arms. "I know you think I'm being naive about him and that I think he can do no wrong."

"I think that he's been your father figure for the last 15 years and it can't be easy for you to see the faults in a man that saved your life," Jay clarified. He didn't fault Erin for having a blindspot when it came to Voight. Despite his own turbulent relationship with the man himself, Jay knew that he had a few blindspots when it came to the man himself. After all, why else would Jay still be working in his unit and taking orders from him?

"But you're right. I'm not that little girl anymore. I haven't been for the longest time." She teared herself away from Jay but she didn't go too far. Just pulled back enough so she could look at his face and placed her hands on both sides of his shoulders, claiming all of his attention. "He's no longer the person I've told everything to for the longest time. You are."

He smiled, feeling the butterflies took over his stomach again from those two words alone. Damn, the way he just melted around her was dangerous. It was clear. She owned him now. He cupped her face and crashed his lips onto her, pouring everything he had into the kiss. The heavy conversation forgotten as she jumped into his arms, pushing his back to the couch. She straddled his lap as his hands went to her hips before finding home on her butt, pulling her close to him. She looped her arms around his neck and deepened the kiss,

"Have I told you how happy I've been for the last few weeks?" Erin asked in between kisses, sounding out of breath. Jay kissed her harder, wrapping his arms around her tighter. If only she knew how happy he had been because of her. "I'm serious," Erin spoke again, allowing Jay to pull her shirt over her head. He tossed it to the floor, ready to work on her bra next.

"Not as happy as me," Jay replied, chasing her lips with his own. Erin's hands went under his shirt, feeling his abs before she was tugging his shirt up over his head too. "So happy," he panted, pulling their naked chest flushed together. "Let me show you how happy."

She grinned and squealed when he lifted her up, Erin's legs latching onto him. She laid neverending kisses on his neck as he carried her by her ass the whole way to her bedroom. They were at her place so sex on the couch was out of the question since Nadia could come back home any second. Jay had half a mind to buy the younger girl a vacation to anywhere in the world just to get her away for a few days so he and Erin could really take advantage of her comfortable and huge couch. Not to mention, that time he and Erin just ravished each other against the wall that just needed to be repeated.

But in all honesty, it didn't matter the location or the time. Jay was just happy that he was here with her at all. And as he threw the last remaining piece of her clothing over his shoulder and gazed down to a writhing and bare Erin underneath him, he intended to show her just the extent of his happiness.

If the memory of last night wasn't driving Jay crazy enough, this scene of Erin in interrogation would've done it. She just looked so hot, just grilling the perp about the bloody t-shirt and Bembenek that Jay was having a hard time focusing on the case itself. He loved her like this— all powerful and in charge. So confident and intense that she just commanded the attention of everyone around her. That was part of the reason why she was more than able to hold her own in a team full of men. And it had been one of the reasons why Jay was just so attracted to her from the start. Like a flame to a moth, he just couldn't help but find her fascinating and so fucking sexy.

They were at that phase in their relationship where it was all new and exciting and they just weren't able to keep their hands off of each other. The sexual tension between them had always been high and palpable but now? It just felt like a volcano— the lava insider just simmering away, threatening to erupt at any moment's notice.

They, somehow, managed to get through the interrogation of Chris Gamble and his role in the Bembenek case and even managed to get useful info out of him. Erin relayed the information back to the rest of the team before she caught on Jay's signal to follow him. He led her down the hallway to the locker room and he quickly scanned to make sure they were totally alone.

"Jay, what—" She was cut off when Jay crashed his lips on her, tugging her until she was pushed against the lockers. She was taken by surprise but quickly melted into the kiss, pulling on his belt to get him closer.

He latched his lips onto her neck, Erin turning to give him more access. They were both panting, their passion and fervor for each other quickly consuming them. "Do you know how fucking hot you look in there?" Jay asked breathlessly.

Her throaty chuckle as Jay sucked on her throat got him going even more. She knew the effect she had on him as she pushed her hips out. "Fuck!" she hissed when she felt him through his pants. "You must really want me, huh?"

That was the understatement of the year. But Jay didn't bother to speak, knowing that they didn't have much time. He just lowered his mouth further to her chest, his hand coming to cup her breast and squeezing it, knowing how much she loved it. Erin tossed her head against the locker, jutting her hips out even more. Jay unbuttoned her jeans and pulled it down to her knees. Then he pushed her underwear to the side before putting his fingers inside of her, feeling how wet Erin was already.

"Fuck," Erin cursed again when his thumb brushed against her clit and he grinned into her neck. "There, Jay," she demanded, falling apart under his touch. He worked his fingers inside her, Erin spurring him on even more with every moan and breathless gasps. "Ah!" she gasped, digging her nails into his back as she tensed before she completely fell apart in his arms.

Jay felt her trembling in his arms, her legs too weak to hold herself up. He held her, planting soft kisses on her face as she came back down to earth. She gave a satisfied smile— soft and tired— that he just had to kiss her.

"Now we have to take care of you," Erin whispered huskily, her hand cupping his still hard on. Jay allowed her to turn them around so he was the one with his back against the lockers and he just waited with anticipation as Erin's hands worked on his belt, ready to bring over the edge like he did for her seconds ago.

"Yo, Halstead. Lindsay!" Adam's voice coming down the hallway had them stopping in their tracks. Erin looked up at him wide-eyed and he quickly brought Erin up to her feet and tried to get his pants up. Erin fixed herself as fast as she could and got some distance from Jay. Adam barged into the locker room and found them standing far apart from each other, Erin leaning against the far wall while Jay was sitting on the bench, turned away from Adam so he couldn't see that Jay was still hard.

"What?" Erin asked, trying to sound annoyed so Adam would leave quickly.

Adam just looked at the state the two of them were in, Jay was absolutely sure that Adam could tell everything that was going on, but the younger man was just oblivious. "We're about ready to go with the Gamble thing. We gotta suit up!"

Jay let out a silent sigh of relief. "Yeah, we'll be right there."

Adam just shrugged and left them alone, Erin sagging in relief. "Fuck, that was so close."

Jay nodded, trying to calm his racing heart. Quickies in the locker room were fun as hell and exciting but Jay was sure he almost had a heart attack just minutes ago. They were lucky that it wasn't Antonio or Al that came looking for them. Now those two would know right away what was going on.

"It was worth it though," Jay found himself saying, standing up to fix himself. Erin just pushed herself off the wall and stood in front of him. She rolled her eyes at his statement and helped him fix his shirt.

"Yeah, but we didn't get to take care of you." Her eyes trailed down his body to his still tight jeans. Jay just shrugged, not really caring. Erin stroked his chest and looked up at him, still flecks of lust in her hazel eyes. "How about I come over tonight and hold up my end of the bargain?"

He bent his head down to lay a kiss on her lips. "Deal." He kissed her forehead, knowing that Erin was a fan of them. Just not in the morning. She smiled.

"I'll see you at 10?" Jay frowned, wondering why it was so late. "I'm going to the bar that Bunny works at."

"I can come with you," he immediately offered, knowing it was a big deal for Erin to let her mom back into her life again.

She shook her head, giving him a small smile. "It's okay. I don't plan on staying long. I'm just gonna go tell her to stop calling me at work. Then I'll come over to your place and we can finish the night off right."

He nodded, reluctantly agreeing to her plan. He didn't like Erin going to see Bunny by herself but Erin was independent as they came and he knew there was no changing her mind. "Sounds good." He gave her a small grin. "Then I'll stop by at Molly's and grab a beer then. I promised the guys and Sylvie that I'd stop by anyway."

Erin frowned, narrowing her eyes at him. "Sylvie?"

There was a hint of jealousy in Erin's voice and Jay just laughed. He had no idea why Erin was bothered by Sylvie. Not when Erin completely owned his heart. Really, it was like he had blinders on, unable to see any other women in the room besides her. "She's just new in town and Adam invited her out. Not me."

Erin had a little pout on her lips that Jay just had to kiss away and replace it with a dimpled smile that he loved so much. "Whatever," she grumbled, trying to play it off as nothing. Jay just shook his head fondly at her, the woman in his arms driving him crazy.

And he wouldn't have it any other way.

The playful atmosphere from their locker room tryst instantly vanished when they went back into the bullpen to get ready for the sting to catch Bembenek. Voight barged up the stairs and addressed the room. Jay knew Voight had a lot of secrets and that Stillwell had something on Voight to keep him from going after him for Jin's murder. But whatever Jay had in mind, it wasn't that Voight was working with I.A himself.

Jay glanced over at Erin to gauge her reaction and he could see the steam coming off of her. She was pissed. He knew Erin must be feeling betrayed right now by Voight's secret and he held himself back from going to her. Erin's jaw was tense as she stomped out of the bullpen to get ready for the raid.

She was still angry in the car but she was quiet, not saying anything. Jay kept his eyes on her, waiting for her to speak. But when it became clear that she wouldn't, he spoke first. "You okay?"

He saw her jaw worked again. "I just want to focus on the case."

"Erin."

"I just need to focus on the case right now, Jay," she cut him off. Jay sighed and just covered his mouth with his hand. He saw Erin glanced over at him through the side of her eyes and he saw her deflate. "I'm sorry," she apologized. "I just— I can't wrap my mind around it and I don't have time to right now. I just need to focus on the case and get Bembenek in custody first."

Jay just nodded. "I get it."

She laid a hand on his thigh, a promise of sorts. "I'll talk about it, I promise. Just not right now."

Jay covered her hand with his own. "I got you, babe. Whenever you need me." He smiled when he felt Erin give his hand a squeeze, accepting his help.

It was never an easy day at the office as a cop but it was especially harder when it was a day that had his kill count increase. He knew that it was a good shot with Jacob. The guy had a gun and was going to shoot at him and Erin. It was either kill or be killed.

Erin was there to remind him of that during the aftermath of the Bembenek's bust, telling Jay to ignore the warning and daggers that Oskar was throwing his way. Jay wasn't scared anyways. The guy was going to jail for murder, what could the big bad Oskar Bembenek do to him from prison anyway?

That was why he wasn't even thinking about Oskar when he came to Molly's with Adam, Kevin and Sylvie. Jay was there to grab a quick beer, and count down the hour until it was time to go meet up with Erin. He wondered how her meeting with Bunny was going. What did her mom want now anyway? Jay had never met the woman but from everything that Jay had heard about her from Erin, he wasn't sure he wanted to meet her anyway.

"Hey, get this. Voight beat the suspension," Adam announced as he rejoined them at the table.

"I thought he was facing termination?" Kevin asked, glancing around the table.

"Call it macaroni, dude. I don't know," Adam shrugged. "He's gonna be back in the office tomorrow."

"He beat it." Erin would be happy about that, if she wasn't still pissed at Voight herself. She was still hurt and betrayed over the fact that Voight had a deal with I.A and kept it from her. Jay was waiting for Erin to come to him about it, for her to keep her promise to talk to him about it. But in terms of secrets, Voight secretly working with I.A wasn't very high on the totem pole of dirty secrets for Jay, especially when Voight ended up doing the right thing but turning Stillwell in. At least now Jin could rest in peace.

He was deep in his own thoughts about everything— Jin, Voight, Bunny, and mostly Erin— that he was startled when Al came up behind him.

"Whoa!" Jay exclaimed as the older man stood beside him. "Sylvie Brett. Alvin Olinsky," Jay introduced the two. They exchanged quick pleasantries but Al was distracted.

"Um...let me have a quick word with you," he said and Jay followed Al, wondering what happened to make the normally composed man look out of sorts.

"What the hell is going on, man?" Jay asked.

Al looked at Jay— a serious and grim look on his face— looking every bit like he would rather do anything besides tell Jay what he was about to say.

"Oskar Bembenek just put a $100,000 bounty on your head for killing his brother, Jacob."

AN: I'm honestly so excited to write the next chapter of this considering it'll have one of my favorite episodes of season 2, the Weigh Station.
