Well it only took me 7years to give you an update. I'm sorry for the long gap, this story has never left my head and I would like to finish it now. Please give it a read and let me know what you think

Raphael's POV

The plan seemed simple enough really… Get the meds, do the surgery, and then skip town before anyone was wise to it. Donnie had come up with the idea to get the pacemaker fitted before heading to the battle complex, where the healers there would be able to look after Master Splinter in a more comfortable environment, and speed up the process. We would be going now, but the others aren't sure if he would make the journey there.

If it were up to me, we would have gone weeks ago. Don't get me wrong, the doctor, Carlisle or whatever his name is, ain't to bad. He's quiet, respectful, maybe a bit uptight but otherwise alright, for a blood sucker. It's the other that I'm not keen on. One to be specific.

Of course it was that one that decided to be the problem. I could have put money on it. I think we were pretty clear about the whole thing… Stay away, or we will hurt you, and if you come near Bella we'll do worse. We made the deal, we only needed the doctor here, and the rest were to stay away. But no, he wouldn't listen, because apparently our sister can't make her own decisions.

April had gone with Casey to get the supplies that we needed, bringing the antibiotics. They had split up, as there were a few different locations for them to source from. April had made it back without any issues, and Donnie got to work analysing the meds from the hospital, getting ready to adapt them. He couldn't do much without the ones from the vets though, so we waited.

"I'm already in the mood to fight again. Between being ambushed by the foot, getting injured (again) and having to wait around (again) I wasn't in the best of moods. Bella had done a decent job on my shoulder, and with the instruction not to move it more than I had to, she let me go without any fuss. So, of course, I was at the punching bag, sort of kicking and sort of punching it, swinging between pissed off and somewhat calm.

Casey was taking the piss a bit now. April had been back for over an hour, LH was on his way – I can't wait to see the docs reaction to him – and apart from Bella and Donnie, everyone was sat about waiting. We've been doing a lot of that lately, and it was getting old. Not that I wanted anything to happen to dad, though it would be a relief to see him out of bed and moving around again. No, I just want something to happen. Today was the first time we had fought in ages, whilst I do hate the foot, at least it was something to do

Everyone looked up when they heard the lair door swoosh open, and Casey finally walked through the door. His face looked like I felt, but with some guilt thrown in. He walked quickly up to Donnie and handed him the bag, looking over his shoulder the entire time at the door. Something was wrong.
The other picked up on the same thing, moving in quickly. He looked more and more guilty the closer we got.

"Guys… before you all get upset with me, I tried to lose the ba- guy but he's fast" Casey blurted out, looking down at the ground. "He followed me down and I didn't know what else to do"

He didn't need to explain who he was talking about. My blood started to boil and I know that I wasn't the only one. You could have cut the tension in the room with a knife. Bella's face had gone from confused to cold. Just cold. I couldn't read it, but I think I can guess what's going through her head.

The doc had moved closer to us, trying to listen to what was happening. He had the decency to look ashamed, and the sense to stay out of arms reach from us all.
"Bella…" Leo started, hesitant "you know that…"

"I know" Came Bella's blunt reply "I'll handle it"

"I don't think that that's a good idea" Mikey chimed in. For once I agree with the kid "That's what he wants. He wants you to go out there"

"I didn't say that I would be going out there alone" there was an angry glint in her eye now, he shoulders squared and her voice hard "Grab your stuff, I'm going to get the message through his head once and for all"

An alarm sounded from Donnie's desk, meaning that something had triggered a sensor near one of the entrances. For a vampire with supposedly super human senses, he isn't all that bright. Then the commotion started. A roar, from what sounded like LH came over the speakers, and faintly through the pipes, followed by a thud and the sound of crumbling stone.

"Move!" Came Leos command. So we did. We ran in opposite directions, grabbing what we needed to, I fastened my sia to me belt and vaulted over the railing of the second floor to land beside Casey again, as the others came to join me.

"Casey and April: you stay here, do not allow anyone through the door unless it's us. Keep Master Splinter safe, tell him we'll be right back" Leo told them, running towards the door. Casey opened his mouth to protest, but was silenced with a sharp glance from April. "Carlisle, I recommend you don't get in the middle of this."
The doc looked upset by the whole thing, though he was trying to mask it well. "I could maybe speak to him, calm him down enough to listen to reason" He argued.

"I was gonna bite his head off when Bella beat me to the punch.

"We warned you" She hissed. Actually hissed. I was impressed with the level of anger coming from her. "Stay out of it, this is between me and him"

Carlisle didn't look like he had much to say to that, so he didn't.

We left through one of the tunnels, steering clear of the main entrance just in case he was around. It sounded like LH was giving as good as he got, even if it didn't sound as though he was winning. They weren't far away, maybe a mile or so. We moved in unison, falling back into our usual formation with one exception… Bella was in front. I think Leo knew better than to argue with her on this one, but he stuck close behind her, staying maybe only a footfall behind her round every corner.

There was a lot of dust and rubble settling in the air the closer we got, and the vibrations from LH's body connecting with the walls or ground could be felt through the floor. We came from just above them, watched as LH tried to grab the little shit, managing it only to be thrown back.

"Edward" Bella said quietly.

And he stopped. Froze mid sneer and with his hand still pushing LH into the ground. His face dropped when he saw Bella stood with us, and it seemed as though he mouthed her name. LH roared again, instantly bringing his attention back down to him, just in time to see LH's hand connect with his head to be flung into the opposite wall.

Bella jumped down, us close behind, and stood in front of LH whilst Mikey and Donnie helped him to his feet. Edward was back quickly, appearing in front of Bella, much to close for my comfort. Leo obviously felt the same, as he reached for his weapon; swung and missed. Edward had moved back, taking Bella with him. She was frozen in his arms, her face turned away from us.

I've never wanted to hurt someone as much as I do in this moment. Everything came back at once, all the harm he had done, the pain, the image of Bella half dead in hospital. With that everything else went red, and we all lunged for him.

He was gone though, the only thing left was the dust where he had been and the faint sound of his footsteps retreating. It was blind instinct leading me, following the sound of his movements with difficulty.

Then they stopped, replaced instead with the sound of Bella yelling out in anger. We found them half way across a main drain line, with a sheer drop beneath them. We had to stop behind Bella, as there was no way to reach him without potentially knocking her over the edge. She was stood with her back to us, a small kakute in her right hand and her twin blade in her left.

Edward was stood a couple of metres away, holding his right arm, a surprised expression on his face. She had done it. She got him. It all made sense now, why she allowed him to get close enough to take her in the first place, and why he managed to carry her off. She was biding her time, to get him exactly here

I love it when a plan comes together.

"Wha- Bella?" Edward sounded confused, out of sorts even. He was looking at his hands, opening and closing them slowly. He looked up when the sound of LH's footsteps began to walk towards us. He tensed and then realised that there was no strength left.

Bella moved then, darting forwards and catching his other arm, almost knocking him off balance but not quite. He attempted to grab her and missed, instead focusing on not falling over the edge. I wonder if he would survive the fall, now that he's weakened. He's not mortal, but he's not immortal either. I don't think that he's feared gravity for a long time. That's not all that he should fear right now.

We all moved into a defensive stance, ready to react if we needed. Bella glanced at us briefly over her shoulder, her eyes focused and intent burning in them. We understood, as much as we wanted to be the ones to do this, this is her fight. For the moment.

This had been a long time coming . I'm willing to wait to see the guy fall.

"I told you. I told you not to underestimate me" Bella said lowly. Edward was stood up now, seemingly paying more attention to those stood behind Bella than what she was saying. I growled, leaning forward but Leos arm pushed me back. Edwards eyes narrowed, focusing on me. That seemed to piss Bella off even more, as she darted forward again. This time he managed to grab her again, though he would soon wish that he hadn't. She cut him with again with her kakute, this time along his left side, before she secured his arm across her chest and then flipped him over her back, effectively putting him on his back, and more importantly, in the middle of us all.

"You never learn" Bella spoke again, stood above him, twin blade poised over his chest. He reached up to grab the middle of her blade. Bella pulled it back quickly, cutting his hand causing him to recoil and then gracfeully bringing it back down to make a small incision on his chest. I don't know how much of the syrum was in his system now, though it had to be a significant amount. Enough that this didn't seem to be exerting Bella much, if at all.

"Bella, listen, I just want to ke-"

"If you say keep me safe one more time" Bella cut him off. Edward attempted to raise himself from the ground, Bella's blade over his inner elbow stopped him, this time with a deeper cut.

As much as I was enjoying the show, and I really am, Bella has never been one to play with someone like this. I could see the same thought had already occured on my brothers faces, as an uneasy glance was shared. By this point LH had caught up with us, and was stood at the end of the pipe. A signal from Donnie had kept him in his place. I can't imagine how confused LH must be over all of this. I will have to remember to thank that guy for getting some solid blows in though.

Edward was no longer on his back and was on his knees by now, though it seemed that he knew that this was the best option for him, as he was outnumbered and heavily dosed. He stared at Bella, obviously angry and still blindly believing that he was doing the right thing. How he had this image of her as someone that needed saving from anything was beyond me. He still didn't seem to get it.

"Bella, please, let me just talk to you" he said calmly, shooting a quick look in our direction before focusing back on her. I heard Mikey snort from behind me, which made Bella's lips twitch.

"I think you've done enough of that. Too much of that. I'm not something that's yours Edward, I never was. The ironic thing was that you thought that you knew more of this world than me... " It was Bella's turn to laugh now, though it wasn't with humour "I find it ironic that I was the one protecting you throughout everything, letting myself almost die trying to protect my brothers secrets. I didn't do that for you, I did that for them. You allowed that to happen. No one else. You. And here we are again, the only thing that's different though is that I'm not hiding anymore"

"I know you Bella, and this isn't you"

"You don't, and you never have. Though you are right about one thing. This -"she gestured to the room as a whole "this situation isn't me. Its you. Its a mess. There's only ever been one man that has caused as many problems as you have for my family Edward, and he's dead now" There was ice in her tone, and everyone flinched from it.

Leo shifted uncomfortably when Bella flexed her arm carrying her blade. This caught Bellas attention, nodding at him to let her know that she had a plan.

I wish she would share it, as we are all starting to wonder just how far this is going to go.
