I came up with this idea called a quotefic. I don't know if anyone has ever done that before but basically I am going to find quotes or songs or parts of books and then do a one-shot, two-shot, or more-shot. if it is a quote it is likely one of two, if it is a song I will likely do one for each verse or maybe just do one verse.
This first oneshot is going to be based off of my series "The Ocean's Glare." You should be able to understand the fic even if you haven't read the book but the books would make this make a lot more sense.
"The loneliest people are the kindest..."
When Percy met the praetor to say he was hit with a sense of vertigo was and understatement. His knees buckled and he fell over.
"Percy!" Hazel shreaked.
When he got back to his feet he looked the praetor in the face. It was so strange because the face looking back was the same as his own. but, on a girl. And she had blue hair.
"So, this is Perseus Jackson." she smirked.
Percy automatically corrected her, "Percy!"
"So, I didn't know I had a half-brother." she said casually. Percy's eyes flicked to her wrist where he saw her wrist had 6 lines(Not explained in the Ocean's glare books yet!) and it had a trident.
"Do I know you?" was the reply that came out of Percy's mouth.
Instead of giving a flat no or a flat yes she leaned forward and said, "Maybe you do, maybe you don't. Depends on how you are using the word."
Percy groaned.
"So, what's your story?" asked the praetor.
"Can I have your name first?" asked Percy.
"Oh, whoops! I am so sorry, The name is Tony Grason. I could also give you my titles but there are a lot and you have ADHD so I won't torture you." Tony replied.
"Nice to meet you Tony, It's cool that I have a half sister."
"Yeah, Hazel, would you please, pretty please find Andromeda? She should be teaching a monster history class right now, building B4!"
Hazel nodded and said, "Yes Tony." Hazel sent Percy a glace before walking away.
Percy looked at Tony in a new light. Hazel seemed pretty powerful if Tony could make her nervous then she had to pack a serious punch.
The word Peyton popped into Percy's said and he instantly blurted it out.
Tony opened her mouth and said, "Who is that? I am really sorry Percy." she looked truly pained as she said, "I don't know who you are talking about."
She seemed to be trying to be as kind as possible as she listened to Percy's story. It was helpful that she never interrupted him. Not once. Almost like she knew what he was going through and could sympathize.
"Wolf house is normal for the typical roman demigod. The amnesia, that has never happened before." she seemed to be contemplating something when the door burst open...
"...The saddest people smile brightest..."
"Tony, what do you want? Hazel said there was a new - oh. You have a new half brother?" a blonde girl said as she walked in.
Tony smiled and it was like a dozen diamonds sparkling in the sun, "Andromeda, meet Percy" her voice seemed strained.
Andromeda didn't answer, she instead grabbed another cahir and flipped her leg over it before looking Percy up and down, "He doesn't look like much."
"Give him a break! He has amnesia." Tony protested, her smile fading.
"Yeah no kidding, type like unheard of." she scoffed.
"That means?" Percy prompted.
"You have no memories except maybe one or two. It is called total brainwipe and can only be caused by a god. Meaning, you won't remember anything until said god decides to give you your memories back or you find a really strong magical antidote." Andromeda concluded.
"YOu are saying the lady June took my memories?" Percy asked.
Both Tony and Andromeda groaned and said, "I hate Jerunao." in perfect unison. Of course Percy had no idea what that is but they both winced and said, "Juna" they kept trying until they landed on, "Juno"
Tony smiled again and I saw a flash of blue hair...
"...The most damaged people are the wisest..."
I blinked and saw the two girls looking at me intently, "Did you remember something?" asked Tony.
"Just for a second, It looked like your hair but I don't know." Percy murmured.
Tony sucked in a gasp and said, "I'm sorry."
"It isn't your fault, you aren't a goddess. You didn't take my memories." Percy sighed.
She mouthed something and then said, "I once had to fake having amnesia."
"Really? Why?" Percy asked.
"It isn't important but know, I know sorta what you are going through, not understanding what is going on, were I am. Just... try to relax, I know that people are calling you graecus and if me or Andromeda call you that then we don't mean it as an insult we are trying to figure this out and yeah."
"Thank you for your wisdom." Percy said.
"Your welcome?" ashed Tony confused.
Tony didn't realise how much their talk had helped Percy.
"...All because they do not wish to see anyone else suffer they way they do"
