Chapter 4
The day flew by quickly and honestly Bruce had never had so much fun. Steve was really nice even if he angered the Hulk though Bruce could feel that he was starting to get used to him.
It was the first day he had ever felt sort of normal since he had gained the Hulk two years ago.
By the time Bruce went home Natasha still hadn't made an appearance and Tony hadn't come back.
When he reached his flat door and opened it, it was the first time he actually felt generally happy since he had moved in. Even the Hulk was sort of calm or as calm as the Hulk could get. This convinced Bruce to let the Hulk out.
That night the Hulk saved so many more people than usual and the destruction was so much less. Bruce wasn't sure wether this was because of the day that the two had had or the fact that for once the two of them were on the same page.
Neither of them could get Natasha out of their head.
This probably was one of the reasons why neither of them noticed the red headed spy following them as they made their way back to the abandoned warehouse to change back.
By the time Bruce reached his apartment he was exhausted. The Hulk was too busy thinking about Natasha to keep him up all night like usual. He even had a shower and got into his pyjamas before he crashed onto his bed.
The next morning he was surprised to find himself actually excited to go to the tower and so was the Hulk.
Want to see Natasha!
"We will see Natasha if she is there."
He could hear the Hulk huff but he became silent as they exited the flat and made their way to the tower. He blamed the Hulk for his eagerness to see Natasha but deep inside he knew that the Hulk was created for him and his own emotions were channeled through the Hulk.
Once at the tower, Bruce let himself up to the Avengers personal floor. He was soon met with the face of Natasha as the elevator doors opened.
Her face was neutral and impossible to read which probably should have made both Bruce and the Hulk uneasy but they were too busy wrapped up in their own thoughts to pick up on what Natasha's facial expression could mean.
Bruce felt like he was in a daze as he walked over to the sofa and plopped himself down on it next to Steve.
"So, Bruce what do you think of Steve?"
That of course signalled the entrance of Tony. Nobody but Bruce noticed Natasha slip out of the room.
"What do you mean?"
"Well Steve is a super soldier. What do you think of the serum that got used?"
Since it had been trying to recreate the serum that had created the Hulk it was a touchy subject for him but of course Tony and nobody else had any idea of this.
That was why the whole day was spent analysing Steve much to Steve's annoyance.
Even after spending the whole day talking about such a sensitive subject both he and the Hulk were happy.
They went home that night to have dinner before letting the Hulk out. Once they got to the flat, they opened the door to realise that they were not alone.
A woman with fiery red hair was standing right in front of them with her arms crossed across her chest.
