Disclaimer: I do not own the Mortal Instruments series.

Thank you guys to everyone who follows, favs or reviews. It means a lot to me to know you are enjoying this.

Also happy birthday to one of the story followers, how fortunate it is that I had chapter ready just when you asked one for your birthday. Hmm weird. (Sorry you reviewed as a guest so I don't really know your name).

Just FYI this chapter is like a nudge into the rest of the characters' lives, it takes place before the end of the last chapter and during as well.

Okay now back to the story

Jace had woken up too early in the morning, courtesy of the painfully loud alarm he had set up on his phone, purposefully. She could quite literally kill him if he was late.

Or talk his ears off until he wished she would kill him.

She would probably do the last one either way, though. Jace thought grimly, and with that terrifying notion and with a tired groan he rolled over off the bed with slow movements. His body desperately needed more sleep but he just washed his face, hoping it would blow off any remains of deep sleep from his expression. He showered quickly and got dressed in dark jeans and one of his T-shirts that he always wears and headed out quickly.

Only stopping to make sure Izzy and Alec would both be late to school, he had switched the contents of Izzy's shampoo and turned off the hot water boiler bathroom system in Alec's shower. It would take at least an hour for it to heat up again after Alec notices it isn't on.

With a final smirk, he had grabbed his keys and set off to the airport, his grandmother's flight would land in 30 minutes but it was a 45 minute drive. He was gonna be late for sure.

I am so dead.

"Herondales always show up on time" he remembered his grandmother Imogen had said once. Which was completely untrue because as he liked to say Herondales make their own time.

He was only ever late five minutes that one time and she still hadn't let him forget it since. She knew he would never leave her at the airport or something but still it never stopped her.

While on the road, looking over all the forest greens going the opposite way of him, as he drove east, straight towards the barely dim light of dawn. The sky above him was still dark, purplish even as it brightened up shade after shade with every mile he accelerated.

Did he say 45 minutes? He could make it in 30. He thought as a grin was plastered on his features, shifting the gears as he let his car blast through the empty roads with its true speed. Everything around him clashed into a mass of blurred colors as the speed meter rounded, almost reaching the maximum speed of it.

He knew there would be no cops at this hour, it was one of his favorite times to drive. Having woken up plenty of times before at this godforsaken early hour for a drive like this, where he could just let loose like he does in the ring.

When he looked over at his side for a moment at the empty passenger seat, a certain thought invaded his mind as he grinned wildly at the imagery of Clary sitting next to him as he glided with freakish speed at the turns of the road like, some would say, a madman.

The thought brought a certain amusement to him, he wondered how would she react if she was sitting next to him. Would she be excited? Barely hanging on to the edge of her seat as she looked from side to side, not wanting to miss a single second of it like he did? Or would she be adorably terrified and yet intrigued at the same time in the way that she did?

Maybe she would like it. Hell, maybe she would ask him to do it again.

He couldn't help the little pleasure that that thought excited out of him as he looked over to his side again, she would look good sitting there with me.

Thoughts of Clary brought back memories of last night where they almost kissed, right before Izzy interrupted them. He groaned with frustration as he accelerated his speed further, if that was even possible, driving was the only thing bringing him peace of mind at the moment.

And without his peace of mind, he would probably turn back and kill Iz in her sleep or something.

He would be lying if he said he wasn't disappointed at the turn of events at the very last second. He wanted to kiss her. Badly.

He knew she wanted to kiss him too, he could see it in her eyes. He saw the way she looked at him and he would be lying if he said he didn't like that look on her, it helped his ego even though The Angel knows it needs no help.

And he looked at her that way too, and not in the way he usually looked at girls, a passing excitement, quick to light up and quick to dim out. Clary had lit something up inside of him that wasn't dimming out or fading anytime soon. It just kept burning brighter each time he saw her. He didn't know what was it about her, but everything she did pulled him in.

He frowned as he suddenly remembered the events leading up to that moment where they almost kissed.

Luke.

He had no clue why he didn't trust that guy.

No screw that, he had a perfectly structured clue why. He broke into Clary's house in the middle of the night. A certain irritation passed by him as he remembered seeing Clary's face so scared before.

He didn't like it.

It angered him, he couldn't even think up of a single reason why he got out of the car and followed her. Something inside of him just said it was a good idea, and he usually trusted that voice.

True it had gotten him into plenty of trouble, but it would always be worth it. Many drunk nights flash inside his head at the mention of it and he only smirked as he vaguely recalled all the stupid things he's done.

Last night wasn't one of them.

But the problem was that he hadn't known what to do then, he didn't trust Luke but Clary said she trusted him with her life. That answer had pulled a frown out of him. She trusted him with her life. He didn't like the sound of that. Something weird was going on with this Luke guy and the thought crossed him that maybe he was a danger to Clary.

I trust him with my life. He shook his head, forcefully removing those thoughts from his head. He didn't want to worry about that, going down that rabbit hole...

Maybe he would ask Clary when he saw her today or something.

Thinking about seeing her today made him smile without even noticing. Especially with that whole almost kiss thing from last night.

He had parked close as he reached the airport, looking at the fancy watch on his wrist, which was a gift from his grandma. 28 minutes, even better. He grinned at the thought as he walked inside to meet his grandmother at the gate.

He had internally sighed in relief when he hadn't seen her at the gate, only stopping for a moment to internally cheer at his luck today. The passengers had started walking out immediately then and he searched through the crowds of faces until he found her.

He pretended to sound stern and annoyed as he said, "You're late, I've been waiting for half an hour".

"I was not late, the pilot was." his grandmother said, not very receptive to criticism, "I tried to tell him that too".

"He didn't take it very well?" Jace wondered, though he already knew the answer.

"No" she shook her head, letting her short hair flop on each side as she did so, "Some people just can't admit when they are wrong".

"Don't I know it" Jace commented, dryly, sarcasm dripping from his tone as he smirked, finally giving the old woman a hug. He bent and picked up her luggage as the two walked to his car, "It's good to see you, grandma".

"Good to see you as well, Jace" Imogen smiled as she got in the passenger seat besides him, "I've missed you".

He knew she could get a cab if she wanted, she had a chauffeur, possibly more than one, but she always preferred for him to drive her home and like always stop for an early breakfast at the same diner as they caught each other up on what was going on with their lives, because he knew she had plenty of work to get done and he had school in later hours.

It was never easy managing time between them, but he always tried his best to manage it.

Magnus had thrown in a last dash of sparkles over himself before smirking and closing the bottle of glitter. He looked over the bottle one more time with considering look and decided a few more sparks wouldn't hurt.

The opposite in fact, it helped.

If he wasn't leaving a trail of glitter after him wherever he went, what was the point of his existence then?

"Dios mio, amigo. Watch where you throw that"

Magnus looked into his mirror, seeing the figure shake his head violently, trying to get the glitter out. It wouldn't help, Magnus knew, he bought the fancy glitter that sticks all day long. He wasn't an amateur.

"You know a little glitter would do you wonders, Raphael" Magnus chided in a sing-song tone as he took his backpack, throwing one of the arms over his shoulder.

"I don't want to sparkle. I'm not a vampire" Raphael said annoyed.

Magnus shrugged as he looked over the guy who has been his roommate in the godawful 4x4 room for the last, what was it? Eight years now? He lost track of time since then "Not all vampires sparkle".

"I should hope not, if I turn into one, I would hate to sparkle for the rest of my life" Raphael chuckled as he took his backpack as well and the two started walking out of the foster home. They always walked to school together.

"I will just ignore the insult to glitter, even though you should know you are disrespecting my religion" Magnus pointed out, the last words coming out harshly but then continuing in a neutral tone, "Only so I can ask why a good christian is thinking about turning into a vampire?"

Raphael scuffed, "You never know".

"I think I would know" Magnus said, as he checked his phone for the tenth time today, even though it was early morning. He didn't particularly enjoy how he ended the last night off with Alexander and he thought maybe he would call him or something. "If vampires existed, don't you think they would have turned me already? My beauty is too undeniable to not immortalize it. Don't you think?"

Raphael shrugged as he offered suggestively "You still have time. Maybe there is a rule for not turning people younger than eighteen?"

Magnus scuffed, sounding half offended "Oh please, vampires don't follow any rules".

"Then maybe you are one already"

"So I told them they could look for someone better to be CEO but I doubt they can afford The Angel himself" Jace shook his head as a small chuckle escaped him at his grandmother's tactlessness as she told him one of her stories. She always knew her worth in business and she always did have a big head when it came to it, never missing a chance to imply it, but never out right saying it either.

"Pot, kettle. Have you met?" he heard Clary's voice in his head calling him out. He's been hearing her voice in his head a lot lately.

"Because he is the only one better than you?" Jace asked, as he shuffled his eggs from side to side on his plate, invested in her stories.

"Well of course dear, it didn't have to be said outloud" she chided with a 'You should know this' expression.

"My bad" Jace said, but he didn't sound like he was particularly troubled over it, grinning as he asked, "What did the board say?"

Imogen gestured for the waiter for more wine as she went on, "Well after collecting their jaws from the floor, they stopped being as opposing to the way I run my business as they were before. And as always my plans proved to be superior to everyone else's and went spectacularly".

"Isn't it too early in the morning for that much wine?" Jace asked her, with a raised eyebrow but his tone was more concerned than judging.

She thanked the waiter and grinned into her glass as she said "It's always 5:30 somewhere, right?"

"Not in Italy, where you were before coming home, I doubt it's happy hour over there either" Jace joked.

"You'll understand when you are my age" she said, then raised her finger interrupting Jace when he went to say something, "If you were gonna make a crude remark about my age, I suggest you reconsider".

He smirked as he quieted down, letting her know that he was gonna joke about her age, something along the lines of him waiting a billion years to understand perhaps.

"So I think I shared enough to earn the right to ask about your life, Jace?" she joked with a raised eyebrow as she leaned forward on the table, propping her weight on her folded arms in front of her.

"I don't think the math checks out" Jace commented but she fixed him with a hard stare that made him sigh as he said, "Not a lot to share, mostly school work has been great, we've won every football game yet".

"And you have been winning all the other games you play" Imogen said with a knowing look, shaking her head a bit and scrunching her nose but her grin never left her face as she added, "You know, the illegal ones you are involved in".

"Allegedly involved in" Jace corrected with a smirk, providing her with no real answer but she only gave him an unimpressed look. He knew she had known about his other activities, but she never really caught him or found any proof of it, he suspected that if she wanted to, she could find all the evidence she needs. The fact that she hasn't so far led him to believe that she wasn't as uptight as she liked to portray.

"Of course" she said with a roll of her eyes.

"Actually I got into trouble with a few teachers," Jace smiled as he thought back to the last two months.

"No" she said in an overly dramatic manner, almost leaping forward as she sarcastically quipped, "You? I don't believe it".

"I know right" Jace played along.

"Let me guess, they don't like it when students mouth off?" she guessed as she took a bite out of her bacon.

"They're crazy, I know" Jace nodded, smirking. "Okay so maybe technically it was my fault for breaking a wall through the tiles of the ceiling but in my defense if school ceiling tiles can't hold down a grown guy hiding in the janitor's closet to skip class, what was the point of having them anyways?"

"You hid in the ceiling above those squared tiles that break in one's hand?"

"Not my finest moment but I was in a rush" Jace defended but the smirk never left his face. "Anyways, it collapsed under my weight and Mr Starkweather, the janitor and Madam Dorothea was there. So obviously the first thing I said was 'Can't a guy get a little privacy?' "

"And you got in trouble for that?"

"No I got into trouble for slamming the door in their faces and trying to run out through the ceiling" Jace admitted.

Imogen raised an eyebrow at the look on her grandson's face and propped "And?"

"And then when caught again pretending to be a twin who doesn't speak much English" Jace admitted with a sigh. His grandmother gave him another look and he added "Then when Mr Starkweather said 'Let's see if you understand the meaning of suspension', I kinda just rolled with the whole no English thing and put a dollar in his suit pocket".

"You are so horrible" Imogen said, shaking her head, seemingly disappointed but at the end she just smiled, "You are just like your father".

He continued telling her stories of how he got into trouble, to which she either rolled her eyes or chuckled at, sometimes even both at the same story.

Alec stretched out his arms and legs as he groggily awoke from a deep slumber. His neck hurt from the uncomfortable position he slept in, which when his eyes adjusted to the still soft light of the sunrise had realized was in the bottom corner of his bed with his head sagging on the side to rest on his desk chair.

How had he fallen asleep this way?

And how didn't he wake up at night and get into bed?

He blamed it on the tiredness of last night and probably all the crazy thoughts that rushed through his mind like a taunting nightmare. The sudden sad memories of last night slammed into his head like an agonizing slap.

Last night had started out so great. How did things go so wrong?

He remembered grimly the answer to that: He was an idiot.

He had been pleasantly surprised last night when Magnus showed up with Clary to the movie theater, he hadn't seen him all day and he appreciated the fact that he got to see him without sneaking off and lying to Jace and Izzy. Even if it was weird for him at first.

And things were going great until that awful car ride. He was going to drop Magnus off at the orphanage, he didn't like that place there, it wasn't Magnus' home, very not like his style but he never liked to push Magnus to talking about his parents. He knew from Jace how sensitive that subject was and how reluctant a person can be to talking about it.

Of course, Magnus wasn't Jace, but he still figured that he would tell him about this when he felt like he wants to talk about it.

They were talking, car's engine had long been cut off as he parked in the driveway. He kept saying a few more minutes and he would go home, but he kept putting it off. He liked talking to Magnus and didn't want the night to end.

Somehow during all of this, he mentioned Maryse was coming home and it was like Magnus had shut off at that.

Magnus' face turned grim but he quickly tried to brush it off, licking his lips and scratching his nose as he looked away from Alec for a moment. Alec turned concerned over this, he leaned forward slightly, his hand hovered just a bit over Magnus' arm before regrettably pulling it back, he cleared his throat as he asked, "Is something wrong?"

"No, nothing is wrong, Alexander" Magnus had said as he leaned back in his chair and sent Alec a smile but it somehow felt forced to him.

"It feels like something is wrong" Alec insisted with a considering look.

"Nothing worth your concerns, I will see you tomorrow, perhaps" Magnus said as he fumbled with the door handle.

"Magnus, I know how you feel about her" Alec started and Magnus' hand ghosted over the handle as he looked back at Alec.

"It is not about how I feel about her Alexander" Magnus said, "I will just stop seeing you for the week that she is here as always".

Alec noticed the slightly bitter tone of his last statement and cringed inwardly, Magnus knew about Alec's reluctance to say anything about whatever that was going on between the two. And it was always the same, Alec would avoid him for the entire week she was there. Not actually ignore but he would be distant and constantly worried about being seen together.

"Magnus, I'm-" Alec had started as he rubbed a hand to his face, but he was rendered speechless. What could he say? "I'm not ready".

"For what Alexander?"

"I'm not ready to let everyone know about this"

"What is this anyways?" Magnus asked, a sudden anger overtaking him and he tried to calm it by rubbing the bridge of his nose with his fingers.

Alec flinched back hurt, "Don't say that".

Magnus shook his head, looking down and avoiding Alec's eyes. He didn't like this, being put in this position where he had to seem like the bad guy. He knows how he feels about Alexander, and he knows Alexander feels something for him as well. But whenever Maryse shows up, it's like none of those feelings matter. He never wanted to push Alexander into making this decision, he always tried to avoid it.

Magnus took a deep breath, "Alexander I understand where you are coming from but if this is all there ever will be, if what we have will always be limited and held back by Maryse.."

"Magnus, please don't pressure this" Alec looked up at Magnus, almost pleading with him.

"I do not wish to, believe me Alexander but if this is all there is... late night talks alone or a conversation between classes in the janitor's closet, if this is all there ever will be for us... " Magnus sighed, he then suddenly jumped up "Did you know this is even the first time I have spent time with your siblings?"

"What does that have to do with anything?" Alec asked.

"It has everything to do with it, Alexander" Magnus said, "They are the most important people in your life and to have to meet them through Clary of all people. It should have been you who introduced us... it's like you do not want me to be a part of your life, even".

"Magnus that was never my intention, I-" Alec stumbled as he tried to think of the right words.

"I know Alexander" Magnus interrupted, his tone sounding more tired and vulnerable than angry or pushing. "But I believe you have some things you need to think about. Like if you want me to be in your life or not".

"Magnus-" Alec had tried to say but Magnus had stepped out of the car before he could say anything. Alec watched him as he walked inside, closing the gates behind him, as he let his fingers ruffle through his own hair, pulling at it in frustration and then hitting the steering wheel a few times.

When he calmed down, at least calm enough to stop hitting the car, he smothered over the spot he hit on the wheel as he said "I'm sorry baby, just frustration".

Alec screeched as the cold water hit his back and he hissed as he floundered out of the shower, an angry thought immediately forming in his head, which he yelled outloud when his suspicions were confirmed.

"Jace you bastard" Alec yelled out, looking at the water heating system and realized it was turned off. With a grumble, Alec turned it on and stepped into his old clothes before anyone could see him naked in the hallway. He mumbled curse words at Jace as he went back to his room and waited for the water to heat up.

He looked at his phone, the thought of calling Magnus or leaving him a message was tempting but with a sigh, he put his phone down.

His eyes suddenly opened wide as an idea came to him, with an evil smirk he walked out of his room, a towel draped over his shoulder as he tip toed to the kitchen, careful not to wake Izzy up and grabbed that plastic wrap they use to cover bowls of food, cutting some of it and heading up to Jace's bathroom.

It was as clean and as immaculate as his room and Alec's nose scrunched up in disdain. He had no problem with proper hygiene but this was taking it way too far. His mouses and aftershaves were organized by bottle height on his shelf.

There was such a thing as too much tidiness, right?

He wrapped the plastic over the toilet and put the seat down, then washed his hands and headed back to his room with a smirk as the thought of getting revenge on Jace momentarily giving him pleasure.

As he walked into his room, he picked his phone up again. Should he call Magnus? He wondered as he scratched at his jaw. He wanted to talk to him, it felt wrong not to text him in the morning like always but he didn't know if that gesture would be well received.

Magnus was really upset with him, "I believe you have some things you need to think about. Like if you want me to be in your life or not". Alec sighed as he leaned in his chair. It was all very new with Magnus, hard to understand but he has to know that he wants him in his life. Doesn't he?

But Magnus was just walking faster than he was in this. He knows how his mother his, she wouldn't approve.

She'll never approve.

Alec rubbed his temple tiredly. It just wasn't easy, being the eldest, and Maryse Lightwood's son no less had certain expectations in Idris that he couldn't just throw out, even if he wanted to. The Lightwood image as his mother often pointed out must always be held high, there are certain things that people expect from them. Funnily enough it was always things that were expected of him. Not Izzy or Jace or Max.

If this is all there ever will be...

It can't be, can it?

It couldn't be always like this, right?

"So will you be coming today?" Imogen asked as Jace dropped her off at her house, putting her luggage inside.

"Are we having a party?" Jace joked, trying to use every last bit of good mood he had before it was taken from him, he knew it was only a matter of time before she brought it up. He was surprised it took her this long

Imogen glared slightly, "You know what today is".

Of course he knew. What kind of a person would he be if he forgot his father's birthday. "No" Jace dropped the cheeky smile and answered truthfully.

"Jace it is your father's birthday" Imogen scolded.

"Was" Jace corrected bitterly. He didn't want to go an visit his father's grave, he never did, same as every year. "It was my father's birthday".

"Jace-"

Jace interrupted sharply, "Look, you know I'm not coming. Every year you try to drag me to it, but you can't anymore. I'm an adult, I can damn well not visit their grave if I didn't want to. And I don't want to".

"Jonathan" his grandmother chided, but her interrupted again, correcting her "Jace".

"You should visit your father's grave. When was the last time you saw them?" she asked, continuing as if he hadn't interrupted her.

"Last time I saw them?" Jace repeated, growing more annoyed with every harsh word he let out, "Eight years ago before they died".

"You know what I meant" Imogen argued, "Saw their grave".

"I don't want to see some rocks with their names on it. My parents aren't there, they're dead" Jace's voice rose, he was almost yelling now. He didn't want to go visit his parents' graves on their birthday or their anniversary or whatever. Birthdays are for people who are here, alive. When he's dead, he sure as hell doesn't want any parties on his birthday because he will be six feet under and gone.

His grandmother had dragged him by the ear to go see them when he was younger, but he was now almost an adult. She can't force him to go anymore.

"I know they aren't there, but this is about respecting our dead and closure" his grandmother argued as she rested a hand over his shoulder, trying to pull his attention back to her.

He shrugged his shoulder, dropping her hand off him as he headed out the door, "I don't need any closure". He made sure to slam the door behind him before he got into his car again.

Why couldn't she understand that he doesn't like visiting their graves? He didn't need a reminder that they were gone and will never return. He revved his car back into life as he sped out of the driveway and headed to school. At least there he could forget about this day and just ignore it all.

He didn't want to remember this day, he didn't want to care about it. They left him, didn't they? His parents left him and died. He shouldn't care about them anymore.

He doesn't want to care. He shouldn't.

The road to school was very short from his grandmother's house and it was still early for class so he figured Izzy and Alec were still back at the house. A grin formed on his face as he thought of his pranks, early in the morning. What was life really worth is you can't annoy your siblings?

He saw Clary fumbling with the lock on her locker and he rolled his eyes as he went to help her. He was beginning to think she will never be able to do it on her own. But he didn't mind opening it for her. He didn't mind anything Clary did really, he thought everything she did bordered on cute or hot.

"You will never learn this, will you?" Jace asked as he neared her, he heard her groan as she stepped back and let him open it for her. He muffled a chuckle at her clear annoyance.

"This thing is biased"

Izzy clicked her heels loudly as she strutted through the school hallways. Her eyes looking through the rows of faces she really didn't care about until her brain clicked as she saw Raphael Santiago. She walked over to him suddenly growing a bit nervous, she was usually never nervous but then again she didn't make a habit of thanking people left and right so this was undoubtedly new to her.

She tapped his shoulder twice and waited as he turned around, his eyes widened as he saw her and she smiled up at him. "Hello Raphael".

"Isabelle. I... didn't think you knew who I was" Raphael admitted honestly.

Isabelle had to admit, she hadn't before. But someone saves your life you usually tend to try to not completely forget about their existence. She chuckled softly, trying to play it off as a joke, she didn't want to insult him. "I do obviously, I just wanted... I wanted to say that I... well, look I am bad at this, I just wanted to say thanks for saving me".

Iz admitted it all in one gulp once she finally stopped stuttering, she bit into her lower lip as she scratched her elbow nervously. She didn't think she was the type of person to have nervous tells.

"You remembered that?" Raphael asked clearly shocked.

She understood his confusion, she was definitely too drunk that night to remember something like that. Something like a few guys ganging up on her in the middle of the night while she was pissed off drunk and couldn't move then Raphael stepping in to save her, then refusing to let her drive her own car, taking her home and making sure she was alright.

"Yeah, some parts of it. The important parts, others are just blurs. Look, I just wanted to say, I am usually not that... foolish" Izzy admitted the last part with unease. She didn't like admitting she was wrong and she had made an idiot out of herself, quite spectacularly at that. Her memory was still vague but certain scenes had flashed in her head of her thinking Raphael was advancing on her when in actuality he was looking for her keys and her making a move at that.

"I didn't think you were" Raphael said with a shake of his head, seemingly genuine, "Foolish, that is".

Izzy was taken back at that, "You're sweet and sorry for all the trouble. I'm sure your idea of a fun night didn't include taking a girl home", she grew nervous again, "Well maybe it might have but in a different context I suppose... not that that night was in that context or anything even if drunk me had implied something... By the angel, I'll shut up now".

Raphael only chuckled as he shook his head, he had never seen Isabelle Lightwood nervous before or stumbling over her words, no one has probably, it was actually adorable. "No need chica. Matter of fact..." he stopped for a moment licking his lips, he didn't usually do this, "Would you like to go on a date?"

Izzy stood shocked for a moment. What about her drunk inappropriate behavior has made him want to ask her out? She never even considered that a possibility and she never thought about him before in that way. He was hot indeed, she would be blind not to notice that and he had been very sweet when he took care of her.

"You don't have to, it was just a thought".

She heard the nervousness in his tone, probably worried that her silence meant she had meant 'no'. He went to walk away but she stopped him with a hand over his own as she said "I would love to".

Raphael smiled at her, "Saturday at eight?"

"That sounds wonderful" Izzy said.

Jace walked out of history class, stomping at his feet angrily as fast as he had walked in. He can't be here right now. He was too angry for history class and he knew if he stayed he might say something he will regret.

He didn't expect this. He didn't expect to be this upset by her words. He didn't know what happened, they were talking and laughing one minute and then everything blew up the next.

"You shouldn't" Her words echoed in his head, bouncing off the walls of his mind. That's what she had said when he said he cared about her. Well he didn't actually say it, more like implied that he cared enough to not want her to die that is. Which said a lot in fact, since he really can't think of many people that that would be true about.

Well seems like there are a lot of people he shouldn't care about today.

He had hoped school would be his escape.

Well screw that apparently.

He wasn't really angry with her, he was just disappointed. He knows they both have feelings for each other, and for a second there he thought she might put her walls down, but he had been wrong. She shielded herself back up worse than before and it just disappointed him.

More than he expected to.

It confused him too, why was she so reluctant about this?

He got into his car again and drove off to the one place where he knew for sure he can forget all about his parents, his grandmother, Clary...

You know, people he shouldn't care about. He thought bitterly.

A/N: Hey I hoped you like this, it is kinda new for me to write with several other POVs, it was just kind of a peak into other people' lives. The next chapter might have some of that as well but where this chapter leaned more towards The Lightwoods, the next will have a few Maia, Aline and Sebastian stuff.

Anyways hope you liked this follow, fav and review and I will see you guys next chapter.
