Clary heard the excessive vibration of her phone buzzing over her desk, fidgeting in its place against the wood, making her look up from her drawings with worry. She looked over to the time on the digit clock on her nightstand next to her.

Midnight? Who the hell calls someone at midnight?

Luke had left just short of two hours ago and her mother was asleep by now, she got up from her bed and looked at the caller ID: Sebastian.

Sebastian? Since when does he call her or even have her number? Since when do they have this relationship?

She cut her thoughts off as she pressed the button to answer, putting the phone over her ear and whispering a slight "Hello?" which sounded more as a question than a greeting.

"Hey Clary, sorry to bother I just really need you to-"

"Is that Clary? Clary" Clary heard from the other side a distant voice but it was clear in her ears, she'd recognize it anywhere.

"Is that Jace with you?" She couldn't hide the obvious shock in her tone. After everything today, she didn't think he would want to see her or talk to her anytime soon. And he also sounded more chipper-ish than usual.

"Yeah he's, no leave the phone Jace, no, get off me. OW, did you just bite me?"

Clary muffled her laughter, "What? Is he drunk or something?"

"Drunk" Sebastian answered, "And outside your door".

"What?" Clary almost shouted at the phone, then realized what she had done, cleared her throat and repeated in a whisper "What?"

"He's drunk and asking for you, can you just...? You know, meet us down here? Just for a bit" Sebastian said.

Clary looked incredulous at the phone as if Sebastian's head was popping out of her screen. Is he serious? Clary looked outside her window and saw true to his words, Sebastian and Jace were visible from her window. Sebastian's eyes connected with hers, which made Jace turn around with limp footing to look at where Sebastian was looking.

When Jace saw Clary he started waving erratically and frantically. Clary couldn't believe it, she pinched herself just to make sure she wasn't dreaming. It had really felt like a dream to her.

"Please Clary?" Sebastian said.

She heard the urgency in his tone and sighed as she ruffled a hand through her blonde hair, she thanked the Angel that she hadn't taken it off yet. She hesitated debating with herself whether or not to do it. In the end she decided she would. "Just give me a minute" she said stepping her feet into the fuzzy slippers she had and headed out, making sure to make as little noise as possible.

She opened the door and saw the two boys standing outside her house in the middle of the night under the full moon that provided only a small dim light. The cold breeze of the autumn chill caught her as soon as she stepped outside and with a shiver she realized she was in shorts and a simple top that did little to no help against the cold chills.

"You better have a good explanation for this" Clary said, a bit of warning in her tone.

"Cute pjs" Jace said looking at her up and down with a dazed expression and a lopsided grin. Clary blushed at the mention of her clothes and crossed her arms over her chest. She looked over Jace, from the clear drunk expression on his face to the almost dark look in his eyes and he started to approach her.

"Jace?" Clary questioned unsure as he stood barely a foot away from her, it made her shrink back, afraid of another moment like last night.

"Clary" he said her name in a sort of relieved tone, like someone who finally found a pond of water after days of walking through an empty desert. His hands twitched by his side to pull her in for a hug or even just to hold her hand but he didn't.

"I need your help. I need you to come with me" Jace said.

Clary had a million questions she wanted to ask. Go with you where? Help with what? Why are you so drunk? Why come to my house in the middle of the night? Do you know how dead I would be if my mom found out?

But she didn't ask any of that. Something about the look in his eyes or the way he said he needed her help, like it was a matter of life or death or if her answer would make or break something between them, that made her just nod with a simple "Yes".

"I didn't sign up to be a chauffeur" Sebastian argued but he got into the car nonetheless.

"Alec don't be so grumpy" Jace said.

Clary's eyes widened as she closed the door and followed the two to the car, did Jace just call Sebastian Alec? How drunk was he?

Jace said something to Sebastian about where they were going but Clary hadn't been paying attention what they said, too busy cursing herself for not changing out of her shorts. But she wished she had been when she saw Sebastian's face fall at Jace's answer.

"Where are we going?" Clary asked from the backseat as Sebastian started driving.

"Cemetery" Jace answered shortly.

Oh was the only thought that crossed Clary's mind at that moment. His parents.

Clary felt suddenly sick thinking of all the different possibilities of what today could be to him. His parents' death anniversary? One of their birthdays? The thought that today was an already sad enough day for him as it is and she had put a cherry on top of the crap cake that was his day with what happened today made her physically sick.

They had reached there in a short amount of time relatively, Clary thought, and in a mostly silent car ride, except for when Sebastian yelled 'The seats are not different, stop rubbing your butt over them' as a response to Jace's continued fidgeting, which Clary thought was a big overreaction on his part.

Clary stepped out of the car when it parked, looking over the metal fence that had a few rusty bars and others completely ripped off, she could see behind it a few figures barely noticeable in the dim moonlight, that she figured were headstones. The breeze intensified and she shivered slightly for barely a second before she felt a warm material cover her shoulders.

She saw Jace tightening his leather jacket around her frame, she shook her head, going to protest when he interrupted, "No".

"I really don't need-"

"No" Jace repeated as he stood in front of her with a stern expression, he tucked at the hem of his jacket, pulling her abruptly closer to him. Clary's cheeks flushed red as she let out a short yelp, taken by surprise to which Jace only smirked before starting to laugh again wildly.

Clary was having whiplash from his constant mood change, drunk Jace was so tiring. So she decided to just accept the jacket but she joked "You know a jacket wouldn't help if I am wearing shorts".

She heard metal clinking and looked back at Jace whose hands were on his belt buckle and she and Sebastian immediately jumped up in horror, "No no" they yelled out as they covered their eyes.

"I'm suddenly a lot warmer" Clary said, stopping Jace from pulling off his pants and handing them to her.

"And I'm a lot more disturbed" Sebastian said.

Jace looked at Clary and sighed, "Fine, good anyways. If I show up to my parents' grave butt naked-"

"Are you not wearing any underwear?" Clary cut him off asking.

"You wanna know?" Jace asked with a dirty smirk and Clary threw her hands up in the air muttering "No thanks".

Jace's expression turned from playful to grim in a second and Clary's teasing smile fell as well as she looked back at Jace but he was looking over at the graveyard, lost in thought.

"Jace you don't have to-"

"I want to" Jace said, cutting Clary off, "I want to, I want to see them, but I can't... not alone. I need you, Clary".

Clary's hand wrapped around Jace's and he squeezed it twice, "You had me at 'I need you'" Clary said.

Sebastian coughed, interrupting as he said, "If we are here, I want to visit my parents'. I'll give you privacy as well".

Jace nodded as the two of them and Sebastian parted, each to their own path and Clary realized that Sebastian had lost his parents too, he had said he was raised by his aunt but she had never thought about asking about his parents before now.

Apparently death was all around them, all of them, more than one might realize. That dark thought clouded her mind.

She had felt a bit uncomfortable as she stood there in front of Jace's parents gravestones, holding Jace's hand. She felt like she had no right to this moment, when she hasn't visited her own brother's grave since the day they buried him.

She wondered if she could visit him, would she? If she wasn't running around the world anymore, would she visit him often? Or would she feel it is too much for her? It would make it all seem too real. Even standing here, surrounded by names she had never heard of was taking a toll on her heart.

She heard Jace's sharp intake of breath as he looked over the stones and stared at them in silence. Clary saw the different emotions cross over Jace's face, from guilt to regret to anger and to hurt, but all the while he never said a word, he only stared ahead.

After awhile of silence Clary realized Jace was talking to them in his head. But even then she felt like she was intruding on this family moment, that she shouldn't be here. But if Jace needed her there, then damn it all to hell she would be. She squeezed his hand twice, she saw him turn sharply at her with a shocked expression that morphed into a smile as he squeezed hers back, twice.

So Clary stood there for what could have been hours, but she didn't mind, and all those things that had jumped into her head that had been eating at her all day long were almost mute. She could have been bothered by everything that went down with her and Jace today, or the fact that they could never be together, or whatever her messed up situation with Valentine is, but she wasn't.

And all the reasons that should have screamed at her to get away, to not live in this fantasy where she and Jace could be something, or in the fantasy where she could pretend he was only a boy and she was only a girl, the fantasy where being here would be okay. But she didn't listen to those thoughts.

She forcefully shoved all those thoughts away from her head for one reason, and one reason only. Jace needed her.

That was all that mattered. Everything else she can deal with later, she will ask him later why he wanted her with him here, why he was so drunk, what he was thinking about in that moment he held her hand.

And although she was sure he wouldn't remember this tomorrow morning, for a moment there, she wished he would.

Sebastian ruffled a hand through his hair as he opened the garage door with his lock, the lock to his room. Since he had grown up, his uncle and aunt, Aline's parents decided he needed the privacy as a teenage boy would, they refurnished the garage into a big room with his own entrance from the outside. Which he appreciated immensely.

He had finally dropped Clary and Jace off, each at their own homes after a long night. This had better give him back good karma in the future. It was almost three now and he was exhausted, he opened the door and the dim orange-yellowish light surprised him with every inch he opened the door wider.

He stepped inside hesitant at first as he looked over the sets of candles set over his desk and on the floor forming half a circle around his bed, Sebastian's eyes found a raven haired beauty in red sitting at the edge of his bed, leaned back slightly, her hands rested on his bed. The shock of finding Isabelle here didn't last, he was getting lost in her beauty that he had no time to be shocked.

His breath hitched as he looked over the beauty the was Isabelle, wearing the most exquisite red dress, her raven hair falling in a soft single wave over her face, her brown eyes looking up at him with an innocent expression but her bright red colored lips revealed a grin that was anything but innocent. His brain has stopped functioning for a moment too long and he heard Isabelle chuckle as she caught that.

"Now isn't it rude of you to leave a pretty girl waiting for you?" Isabelle asked with a perfectly raised eyebrow.

"I'm an idiot" Sebastian responded and Isabelle chuckled, the sound ringing so sexy in Sebastian's ears. He approached his bed until he was barely a foot in front of her and with a finger under her chin making her look up at his face, "Now how did this idiot get the most beautiful girl in his bed?"

Isabelle grinned, her red painted lips twitched and Sebastian longed to smear her lipstick, "Maybe luck" Isabelle muttered breathless as Sebastian slowly lowered himself on his knee to reach her eye level, "Or maybe talent" Isabelle lulled, her eyes raking from his own to his lips. "Or maybe it's all you" Isabelle's voice lowered to a whisper.

Sebastian was in complete awe as always of Isabelle. Every time she showed up in his room, he just fell more in love with her. They had started seeing each other on and off for purely physical needs since her first breakup with Meliorn. And since then, for the past year and a half, every once in awhile when they were single, Isabelle would show up in his room, and they would spend the night together.

It was purely physical, Sebastian realized that, that is all Isabelle would ever see in him, she would never feel about him the way he felt about her, he knew that. It was clear from the start and as much as he had rejected it, he fell in love with her.

They had kept the whole affair a secret from their friends, they were determined never to let a single soul know. Or at least Iz was.

"Well then maybe I kept the pretty lady waiting long enough?" Sebastian teased.

Isabelle nodded, "You have".

"And maybe I shouldn't let her wait go to waste" Sebastian suggested.

"You shouldn't" Isabelle said, Sebastian picked up the remote control to the stereo and pressed a button before looking back at Isabelle.

He heard a chuckle from her as the music filled their ears in a soft hum coincidentally to the tone of Lady in Red. Sebastian looked over Isabelle memorizing her ever feature before their lips collided. A fire irrupted inside Isabelle as her stomach fluttered happily. Sebastian always kissed her with fire and passion, his kisses hard and bruising but his lips soft against her own.

The hand that was under her chin moved to cup the back of her head, just under her ear as his fingers ruffled through her hair, the other laid on the bed beside her own as he leaned forward. She had matched his fire with one of her own, her lips begging for more of him. His tongue had darted out across her lips and she allowed him access.

Their tongues fought for dominance as Isabelle's hand moved to Sebastian's neck pulling him towards her, her need for him overbearing her other senses, one leg of hers trailed up his side before locking behind him and pulling him towards her, his hand sneaked its way to the dip of her back, pushing their bodies impossibly closer together.

Sebastian knew he was driving down the road of heartbreak this way, but he didn't care. He wanted her, he needed her, in every way possible. But if this was what she wanted from him, he would happily drive down that road blindfolded for all he cared. He would give this to her. Everything she asked for.

The last thought running through his head before it was overcome with lust was Thank you, karma.

Clary woke up with a tired groan at the sound of her alarm buzzed in her head and ears, she hadn't had nearly enough sleep last night, she felt something poking her chin uncomfortably. Her eyes opened as they adjusted to the sunlight knocking on her window, mercilessly, and she realized she had fallen asleep on her drawing pad.

The events of late last night rumpled through her mind in a disoriented mess, but she smiled thinking of it. She hadn't realized how much spending time with Jace affected her mood.

Sudden sadness washed over her as she realized with how pissed off drunk he was, he probably wouldn't remember the events of last night and when she saw him today, they would probably go back to him ignoring her, refusing to talk to her while glaring from the other side of the room.

She mentally cursed herself for letting Jace have this much of an effect on her. She knew it wasn't right, she knew she couldn't have this, she knew she should just forget about him, but she couldn't for the life of her do that.

She got up, determined not to ruin her day, and got ready for school, she met her mom downstairs and mentally propped herself for managing to sneak out and back in without her mother noticing her absence. She knew she would be beyond dead if she knew about that.

"Morning" Clary said, cheerful, "How is the coffee?"

"Black and with lots of sugar" her mother answered.

"Just how I like it" Clary grinned as she poured them both cups of coffee and setting up the plates as her mother put the breakfast on the table and Clary almost shouted in shock, "Pancakes? Waffles? Crepes?"

"Is that okay?" her mother asked with a teasing grin.

"Is that okay? Am I sane? Of course it's okay" Clary shrieked happily. She stopped suddenly her eyes narrowed as she leaned back suspiciously, "Are we moving again?'

"No" her mother shook her head as she sat down.

"Did you completely embarrass me in front of my friends by telling someone I have a crush on their kid?" Clary asked.

"That was one time." Miranda argued, "And no".

"Do I have to wear an even more uncomfortable wig?" Clary asked.

"No" Miranda answered.

"Then why all this?" Clary asked as she sat down, "I appreciate it, but I am also not dumb".

Her mother took her sup of coffee and shrugged, answering simply before she took a sip of her coffee "I noticed you have been feeling down, and I thought it would help cheer you up".

"If you were thinking of bribing me to talk about it" Clary said as she licked her lips and put a pancake in her plate, "You might have just done something here".

Miranda scuffed, incredulous "Oh please, I know how to make you talk in my sleep".

"Only because I sleep talk" Clary argued as she took a bite of her pancake, the crunchy shell and soft stuffing melting in her mouth to form the perfect combination that made her moan happily at the taste.

"Well yes but to be fair, it is mostly nonsense" Miranda said scrunching her nose up, "You keep inviting her majesty for tea".

"And she still hasn't shown up to even one of my tea parties" Clary said with a fake annoyance, followed by a chuckle.

"She might be busy, being the Queen of England and all that" Miranda defended.

"Well I know from experience it can be time consuming" Clary said with a tired sigh as if the pain of fame was too much to bear, as she added a waffle to her plate.

Miranda scuffed, "Your experience being queen of what exactly?"

"Everything" Clary answered, picking up her waffle in her hand after she dipped it in chocolate, "Queen of everything", she said taking a determined bite out of her waffle and her mother simply rolled her eyes at her ridiculousness.

"Etiquette, your majesty" Miranda said as she used her knife and fork to eat a piece of her own waffle, and propping it into her mouth.

Clary shrugged as if confused, "Never heard of it".

"I don't doubt it" Miranda teased, making Clary chuckle. "Now eat up, I don't want you showing up late to school".

"Yes what a terrible shame that would be" Clary said with obvious sarcasm but her mother nodded nonetheless, not picking up on it or not caring enough for it, as she claimed "Indeed".

Isabelle moved her neck around, letting the joints crack, releasing the tension she felt, then sat up in the bed, pulling her arms behind her back and moving her shoulders around until she heard the satisfying sound of her spine joints cracking.

She smiled happily as she rubbed her hands over her still closed eyes as memories of last night invaded her mind. A different kind of smile crossed her features now as she looked to her side. She saw Sebastian laying wide awake, staring at her in awe as he leaned his head on his hands, his arms pulled back to reveal the lean muscle of it. "Are you going to stare at me each time I wake up in your bed?"

"Of course, that was the sexiest spine cracking I have ever seen" Sebastian said with a playful grin. Isabelle looked down and saw she was naked, the cover probably fell off her as she sat up and she realized she had been practically showing off for Sebastian for a few minutes now. And suddenly she felt the morning breeze become noticeable now, she held the covers up to her chest.

She looked at him with a suspicious expression, she pulled the covers hiding him up before looking back at him with a teasing grin, "All that for cracking joints? Is it a fetish or is it just me?"

"What do you think?" Sebastian asked her in the hinting tone he always used, he sometimes says somethings like that, like his words hold a deeper meaning, more than what she thought they did. It was like he was holding something back from her, like a secret only he would know.

She shrugged, keeping her grin, letting him know she was teasing "I think you were born with sex on your mind".

Sebastian made a face that portrayed obvious disbelief, an eyebrow raised and he pushed himself back, confusion taking over his features, "I think you're confusing the two of us".

"I said you were born with sex on your mind, I didn't say you were the only one. I'm confusing no one" she argued defiantly and he chuckled.

A moment went by with sudden quietness and Sebastian hesitated, looking up at her with soft eyes, "So I am guessing dinner last night didn't go so well?"

Isabelle flinched noticeably at the reminder to the events of last night, Sebastian had been ready to apologize when she surprised him by laying back down on the bed, resting her head on the pillow, just under where his arm was, and looked up at him with her doe brown eyes, as she caught him up to what happened.

"Alec did what?" Sebastian shot up, looking at her with complete astonishment, his eyes rounding, almost spilling out of his head, it would have almost been comical.

"What surprised you? That Alec is with Magnus?" Isabelle asked, she had thought everyone secretly knew and were keeping to themselves about it because they didn't want to downright ask Alec.

"That he kissed him in front of your parents" Sebastian answered and she nodded agreeing, "I thought everyone knew about Magnus and Alec".

"Well my brother isn't exactly subtle" Isabelle pointed out.

"No" Sebastian said with an uncontrollable chuckle, over enunciating the word "That he isn't. They always pull each other into janitor's closets when they think no one is looking but the two idiots always look sideways, they never in front or behind them".

Isabelle groaned, scrunching her nose up as Sebastian chuckled and she rolled her eyes, "What he lacks in subtlety, he makes up for in drama. You should have seen the spectacle, right on the street for the whole world to see, I think the streetlamp exploded over their heads at the kiss releasing thousands of fireworks".

Sebastian chuckled at her exaggeration and the sort of breathless tone she had said it in, like she was their biggest fan already, he eventually let a smile overtake his features and joy overtake his emotion, Isabelle wasn't the only one happy for Alec's happiness. "Way to go, Alec. Almost makes you believe in love" Sebastian said with a sort of teasing sarcasm to his tone at the last part.

"Shut up, you so believe in love" Isabelle said rolling her eyes.

"What makes you say that?" Sebastian asked, drawing back to look at her.

She shrugged, a sort of shrug that was between I don't know and I won't tell, that was Isabelle for you, an enigma, a mystery that can't be solved, you just keep finding more and more clues at every turn. "Why are we talking about love anyways?"

"We can talk about how we are gonna be late to school if we don't get up like ten minutes ago" Sebastian suggested as he removed the covers from himself and got up from the bed. A small slender hand wrapped around his wrist and he felt a surprisingly strong tug from such a small hand, pulling him back to the bed and he flopped on the mattress with Isabelle on top of him, either leg on his sides.

"School? Did you become dull while I wasn't looking?" Isabelle teased as she traced her fingers over his exposed chest in faint motions.

He smirked before flipping them both so that he was on top of her, capturing her wrists and putting them on each of her side, holding them, and her, in place as she smiled mischievously at him, "Dull, ha? I can't have you thinking that".

"Then try to convince me otherwise" Isabelle challenged.

"I intend to" Sebastian said with a playful grin before he lowered his head to capture her lips and she tried to push her head up to meet him, his hands let go of her wrists and her hands immediately went for him, one ruffled through his hair and the other behind his neck, pulling him down towards her.

They were so going to be late.

"Are you sure you don't want me to take you to school?" Miranda asked again, shuffling through her things in her bag, making sure she had everything she needed before heading out to work. She seemed chaotic, Clary would say, which was unusual for her to see.

"Yes I am sure, Izzy texted last night saying she would pick me up" Clary said with a shrug as she looked at her phone again. Still not text or call from Izzy this morning, she had sent a few messages but she still hasn't read any of them. But there was still time and Clary wasn't actually panicking or anything, she just shrugged.

"Okay honey, love you, I'll see you after school, I'm picking you up" Miranda said as she headed out the door.

"Bye" Clary called out, waving goodbye. She looked at her phone one more time wondering whether she should call Iz or not. She didn't want to seem overbearing, but she had no idea what was going on with Iz.

Maybe she forgot her phone at home.

Maybe she is on her way and isn't texting and driving.

Maybe she forgot.

Maybe she was still asleep.

Or maybe something bad had happened to her.

When would be the appropriate time to start thinking something bad happened?

Maia felt movement around her, she felt heat covering her body and the strange feeling of flesh under her head. She opened her eyes in shock immediately looking around, her eyes adjusting to the scene in front of her. Her eyes focused on the beautiful sunrise behind her head, her hands gripped at the fabric under her and as she looked down she realized it was the picnic Gingham.

She panicked, realizing she and Jordan had fell asleep talking and looking at the stars or at least she did first. She released a relieved breath as she noticed both her and Jordan were still fully clothed.

"Good Morning" Jordan said, his voice sounding sleepy and tired, but his eyes were open and looking up at her as she turned to look at him.

"How long have you been up?" Maia asked.

"Just now" Jordan said, "Sorry I guess we fell asleep, is this gonna be a problem with your folks?"

Maia shook her head no, they probably didn't realize she wasn't home even, she looked at her phone confirming her line of thoughts, no calls, one message from Aline. Something about having to walk to school because Sebastian was going to be late.

"Don't apologize, it was" Maia hesitated as she looked at him but his reassuring smile told her she could say anything, "wonderful".

"It was" Jordan agreed, "Do you think we still have time to see the sunrise before school?"

"I think we are gonna be late either was so what is the harm really?" Maia said with a smile as the two switched their position to face the opposite way. Maia leaned her head on Jordan's shoulder, feeling an involuntary smile, "Thank you for last night, I really enjoyed it".

"I'm glad you did" Jordan said, Maia felt the heat of his gaze on her and she looked up, not realizing how close of a proximity they had. He was so handsome and she wanted to kiss him. She couldn't believe they still haven't had their first kiss yet, now they ha technically spent the night together but haven't kissed yet.

And she didn't want to wait anymore, she saw his eyes flicker from her eyes to her lips for a moment, she had matched his movements and he waited for her. Waited for her to make a move, and other then the hint of leaning closer just a bit, he hadn't moved.

She swore she could hear her heartbeat in her ears and was sure he could hear it too, she leaned up approaching him and softly touched her lips to his. She felt him softly press against her own as their lips moved together in a tender and gentle dance, shaping together, teasing and embracing affectionately.

Maia felt the butterflies in her stomach ruffling everywhere, her fingers had felt tingly and a feeling of sensitiveness overwhelmed her. Like this kiss was so delicate she feared pressing harder and breaking it and feared pulling away and letting go of it.

She felt tingles on her cheek as his hand cupped her face and her hands fell to his neck, neither of them urging the kiss harder or softening it. It was already perfect, sweet and delicious.

"Get your ass up, Jonathan Christopher Herondale or so help me the Angel, I will unleash the fear of hell in your soul"

"Shh, sleep" Jace groaned as he rubbed his face harder into the pillow, wishing to drown out the voice of his grandmother. Why is she yelling? And why does his head hurt so much?

The pounding beat in his head hit in every corner of his brain, making the terrible headache increase with every second. The light in the room felt too bright, too strong, even behind his close lids he could feel it burn his eyes. And his grandmother's yelling was echoing in his ears like a club's music would pound and vibrate in one's ear.

"Jace I am not kidding, get up" Imogen said in warning, "Remember, fear of hell".

"Like you know anything about the fear of hell" Jace groaned. Why does she keep yelling? Can't she see he is right there.

"I am so glad you said that" Imogen said with a genuine happiness in her tone, or at least playfulness.

Jace sensed then an eerie sort of calm and quietness, if it were any other day he would be suspicious and get up to look around but apparently the rock band in his head still haven't finished their set and if he could sleep the headache away he would.

A hard splash covered his face and he shot u in shock and fear but the splashing and the cold feeling didn't stop, he felt water all around him like he was drowning in it. He tried to suppress it or stop it and it eventually rand out. He choked in the water, coughing, spitting and snorting it. Water had entered places it shouldn't have.

The inside of his nose burned and his throat ached, the light scratching he felt inside his throat earlier, the fading feeling of bile in his mouth had turned into an aching powerful urge to throw up and he grabbed the bucket besides his bed and threw up, bile rising up.

His grandmother looked away, knowing that if she looked she would end up throwing up too. She waited until he was finished before she smiled, clapping her hands together, not missing the way Jace flinched at the sound, as she said "Oh wonderful you are up".

"What in the Angel's name are you doing?" Jace asked as he looked up and saw the now empty bucket in her hand, "What happened? How did I get here? And why are you trying to drown me?"

"I don't know, your friends showed up last night and put you to bed" Imogen said.

"Friends?" Jace asked confused, he doesn't remember calling anyone last night. Did Raziel call anyone? He tried to conjure up a single memory of last night after hitting the bar for way too much to drink but came up empty. Not a single thing, he couldn't remember anything, he felt like a big chunk of his brain was missing.

"I know I was surprised you have any too" Imogen joked with obvious exasperation, "I guess at the very least you are not dead, so that would be a good thing".

"You don't sound sure of that" Jace joked as he rubbed his eyes groggily.

"I am sure" Imogen insisted, "Now since you are up-"

Jace scuffed when she said that in a tone like she had no control over and had just happened.

"-start getting ready for school, you are going to be late" Imogen continued as if she hadn't heard him.

"So I would be late" Jace shrugged.

"So you would be dead. Up. Now" Imogen said.

"Why are you doing this to me?" Jace groaned in obvious annoyance.

"It's a lesson in actions and consequences" Imogen said, "And the price for coming home drunk off your ass on a school night is school the next day".

"Wonderful lesson that is" Jace said sarcastically.

"I know" Imogen said, not caring for his sarcastic tone, "Now get up and get ready".

Imogen had left an Jace groaned as he looked around, he heard her voice echo from outside saying "And let the mattress air out, will ya?"

Jace sighed, annoyed even further.

What a wonderful start to an obviously wonderful day.
