Hey, hey, hey! Welcome to the first chapter of Masked Eyes! Hope you enjoy it!

By the way, this is really just a little fanfic that wasn't planned beforehand. This is because I just want something to be out for me to work on, as I plan an upcoming story.

Chapter 1: Love At First Sight

The silence was deafening for her client, as she poked and prodded around the product of her latest design.

He wasn't actually sure what she was doing, but he knew to leave her; she was the most professional and intelligent woman working here. So, there he stood, in a T-pose, waiting for the woman to be done. Though, in all actuality, he was shakily holding his pose.

After a couple of minutes, though, he got anxious. She sat, cross-legged, as the base of the wooden slab he was standing on, staring at one of her pins. The blunette was staring at the pin with a concentrated look on her face as if trying to will it to do her job. The ravenette looked concerned for the woman and soon asked. "Are you ok, Miss?" He asked, breaking the silent barrier of silence. The woman looked up, surprised. "Oh, I'm sorry! Please, forgive Juvia." She bowed her head quickly in retribution, now on all fours. He looked mystified at the display.

"No no, it's ok, Miss Lockser. You were staring at the pin and I got worried. That's all!" The man sweatdropped. Juvia looked up, relieved. "Oh dear Kami, Juvia's sorry for causing you this much concern- Oh my goodness, I forgot to call my girlfriend! Hold on!" The woman texted her first, and after she didn't answer, she resorted to calling. A second later, the phone began to ring. The raven-haired man sighed, happily gesturing her to continue it; he didn't want to hear another self-deprecating ramble- especially when he knew it to be untrue.

"Hello, this is Juvia Lockser calling." The blunette greeted. Another voice sounded on the phone, and her face lit up with excitement. "Juvia would like to know if you could go out with me, love! She's with a client right now, but she's sure she can go if it's not too much trouble." She slyly glanced back to her client, judging his reaction. Once she saw it was ok, she nodded. "Yea, Juvia'll pick you up, she needs to get Erza from fencing class first though!" She excitedly said.

"So I'm guessing we'll finish this tomorrow? The man asked, waving his arms towards the dress on his body. Juvia quickly nodded, too caught up in ecstasy to notice his exact question. He hummed in delight; he was really looking forward to catching the game.

Juvia rushed away with mountains of bags in her hands, rulers, and trimmings flying in the wind. "Bye, Gray! Enjoy your night!" She called. Gray laughed in delight, she was probably the weirdest woman he ever met.

They intensely stared lovingly at each other, gripping each other as if it'll be the last.

The moon shone behind them, illuminating the pair with a certain gentleness. It created this sort of halo. The woman on the right petted the man's cheek softly. It seemed out of pity and sadness as she looked on to her lover's body with tears rolling down her cheeks. The man's last slips of consciousness were being held on by the woman, it seemed, as he was only faintly reacting to the woman's actions. Rose petals were cast in the role of romantic rain.

"Oh, my dear. Don't cry for me as I'm not worth it." He whispered, with great effort. He mirrored her actions, slightly petting her face with a silky, white glove. This caused a whole other waterfall of tears to release, prompting him to try and comfort his lover. "No no, my dear. Please." He whispered, now limited pauses between each word. The woman grew more desperate; she clawed at him, frantic tears generating damp spots on his tuxedo.

"B-But I can't lose you again, Darien! Please, just wake up!" She stuttered, finding it hard to retain control. "No need to worry a-about me, I'll be-"

A phone buzzing shattered the moment.

The woman, who was formerly sobbing, now was fuming. She had taken her arms from the man's body already, already comfortably tucking them crossed. "We were doing so good! Of course, the phone had to ruin it." The woman said. The man had already "risen from the dead", now casually leaning against a wall that wasn't there before. He had already, miraculously, grabbed his phone and was texting a couple of friends.

"Well, they can always use the footage, they just need to cut it out before the phone ran, Luce; it's that easy." The man in the tuxedo provided to calm her down. The woman in the sailor uniform still looked miffed but had seemingly calmed down. Thankfully.

"Well, I guess you are right... Anyway, who's phone was it?" The blonde quickly asked. Her eyes surveyed the neat, beige studio to be met with a sea of no's. One person held a phone, though, with a constellation print. 'Luce' seemed to understand quickly, although, her irritation was slowly growing at someone touching her phone. But, these people were her employees and she'd rather not have a million people gossiping about how she's a fire-breathing dragon.

"Can you please send it to me?" She asked, carefully clipping her tone politely. The cameraperson obliged and handed it over. She opened the phone quickly and scrolled to a text. Then, everyone in the room was treated to a loud rendition of Snow Fairy, reverberating against the small walls of the studio. 'Luce' was mortified.

She rushed to hit the "accept call" button, her face growing red as a strawberry. Her temper was reaching its limit for the day, but when she did hear who it was, she softened.

"Juvia! Hi!" Luce exclaimed. She grits her teeth but it seemed half-hearted, as the corners of her mouth lifted. "Oh, I would love to go out with you, Juves, but we're in the middle of making a CMV; I'm not sure- Ok, but Juves-" Lucy was immediately shut down after the call ended. The corner of her mouths seesawed until the right won, turning into a lopsided, exhausted grin.

"Welp looks like I'm going out. Alright, shooting is over with, enjoy your Friday!" Luce waved out their crew. The crew mumbled their joy and set to packing right away, talking about their plans for the weekend. Luce giggled and looked to her friend behind her. He was lounging around on his phone, munching on a bag of popcorn he found in his lunch bag.

"C'mon Natsu, we gotta close up." Luce waved him up from his comfortable position, still on the wall, savoring the last bits of alone time until his friend yells at him. Again. He reared his head against the wall in fake anguish. "Lucy! Why can't we stay here? It's warm..." Nats whined, shoveling out the remnants of popcorn. Lucy stomped over to where Natsu sat and grabbed the popcorn. The pink-haired man let out a whimper and tried to grab it, but it was too far out of his reach; Lucy already was waving it in the sky.

He gritted his teeth in determination, though, and shot up to grab it in record speed; popcorn flew like remnants of a firework, creating a giant mess of delicious white nuggets of baked corn. Natsu hummed in triumph as he picked up the popcorn and ate it- much to Lucy's chagrin. "You're picking this up, Natsu. If the landlord reprimands us for this, it's your fault." Her tone suggested no room for argument, and Natsu understood. "I'm going to go change for my date," Lucy called. Natsu lifted his head in confusion. "What date, Lucy?" He inquired.

"You seriously weren't listening? Juvia

begged

asked me on a date tonight." Lucy called from a separate room. "I can't go out looking like Sailor Moon and wander the street." She chuckled. Lucy emerged from the separate room, arriving in a beautifully delicate cocktail dress, her hair twisted into a bun. She smiled in accomplishment.

Lucy grabbed a waiting pocketbook on a nearby stool. She readied herself and turned to Natsu. "Let's go, Natsu." The blonde called him over, and Natsu ran to meet her.

"I think we're almost here, just over the corner."

Natsu opened one eye to look over Lucy, humming to a random opening. Natsu found himself tapping along to the beat, despite not liking the anime it originated from. Though, it was one of Lucy's favorites. Deathnote, he thinks. Lucy was always a fan of thriller animes, though she would never like the gore-riddled parts.

He felt the car swerve as it rounded the corner, and there stood Juvia and someone else. They both were waiting patiently, though, it was hard to tell if they were truly agitated. Lucy slipped out of the car and headed over to her girlfriend, hugging her and slipping a quick kiss. Juvia was luminous in a golden, mermaid-style gown with a sheer, silver mantle draped over her freezing shoulders.

Though Natsu was confident in his cosplay -Mamoru was always one of his best cosplays- he felt out of place with an enormous getup of a mask, tuxedo, and a cape. But, he did feel warm, that was a bonus.

Juvia and Lucy's greeting each other softly, enjoying their time. Natsu paid no attention to it, though, to keep their privacy. So, his mind wandered, his eyes flitted. And they found the red-head.

Her scarlet hear blew slightly in the wind, creating this picture of a free-spirit. She seemed shiny and was glowing, it seemed. Her eyes shone with energy as she looked on the exchange with half-lidded eyes. The woman's posture was formal, with a hint of motherly. Everything about her seemed welcoming, inviting.

But when he met her eyes...

He locked eyes with hers and strung a line between them. The wind blew around them, and only them, a dramatic dynamic created. He felt urges to pull him towards her. Time stopped, the Earth stopped rotating, all eyes on them. The wind pushed them forward towards each other. Glints in the breeze waft, fire ignites.

Soulmate: Achieved.

And that was it! Hope you enjoyed it! I know I had so much fun writing this!

So, yes, I know it's cliché. But I promise it isn't for the rest of the book. The rest is mutual pining with so many freaking cameos, a ton of idiotic ideas from both parties, and lovely couples. Luvia is also something that isn't major, it's minor. Meaning it's not going to have a big role until the end.

Also, for those who don't know, the scene Lucy and Natsu reenact is from Sailor Moon, first season. I took some... creative liberties with the script because I'm not sure if I can find the exact scrip without scouring the internet. I'm also very sure that this will most likely turn into me just showing off my fandoms. Lol.

For the rest, it's going to have something inspired from Dash and Lily's Book of Dares, but different story. A little bit of the same premise but, at the very same time, something totally different.

Anyway, sorry for ranting. If you do like this, please review, like, and follow. Hope you all enjoyed and have a good day/night. Bye~!
