Hi, everyone! I've been working very hard on this story and finally managed to write this piece. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did while writing it. Please feel free to review, I would love to hear your thoughts.

Disclaimer: I don't own My Hero Academia or any of its characters. Mizuki, however, is my own creation.

Let's start with the story, shall we?*

Chapter 3

"Man, what a day!" Rinako let out an exasperated sigh as she leaned against her desk. Her body was exhausted from classes, the previous night's activities catching up to her. She couldn't wait to get a good night's rest.

"Says the one who was sleeping straight through English. You can be glad that the teacher didn't even bother with you today," Akira pointed out as she put away her books, her black hair neatly hanging in a high pony tail.

"Hey! It was boring, okay?!" Rinako defended herself and glared at the dark-haired girl. "Not everyone has a quirk to memorize everything she comes in contact with. Some of us need to get in some rest and do other stuff to relax before studying."

"Don't you think you've been doing too much of that instead of studying?" Akira asked with a raised brow. Rinako was about to retort but Mizuki stood up and caught their attention. They expected her to scold them for fighting yet heard nothing.

"You alright, Mizuki-chan? You've been out of it the entire day. It isn't like you to look so bothered. Do you want to talk about it?" Rinako asked and Mizuki seemed to snap out of her haze. She smiled at their worried faces.

"S-Sorry, I'm fine, really!" They gave her disbelieving looks. "It's… This whole choosing for a future thing is hanging heavy on my shoulders right now," she sadly stated and felt a hand on each of her shoulders.

"Don't worry about it, Mizuki. Whatever you choose to do, we'll support you," Akira stated and Mizuki gave her a thankful smile. "And if that stupid brother of yours is threatening you in any way, we'll take care of him." Mizuki snickered and shook her head.

They always knew how to make her feel better.

"Thank you. You're the best!" She grabbed them and gave them both a hug from the side. "I tell you what? Since I was such terrible company today, I'll treat you guys for karaoke this weekend. How does that sound?" She offered and Rinako jumped for joy while Akira nodded.

"Sounds good."

Mizuki grinned and felt her rapid thoughts finally calm down. She went to grab her things to walk home with the girls before she caught sight of green scruffy hair. She moved closer to the window and a familiar face came into view.

"Mizuki-chan, you coming?"

"I'm going to have to pass on that one." The girls gave her a surprised look. "I'll promise to walk with you guys tomorrow. I have something to do first. I'll see you tomorrow. Remember to get enough sleep in Rinako!" Mizuki said as she brushed passed them down the hall.

Rinako wanted to reply but decided against it, her friend already long gone. She let out a sigh and looked at the dark haired female next to her. There was no arguing that Mizuki had too much energy but that was what made her so lovable.

"That girl is really hopeless…"

Mizuki rushed down the stairs and reached the exit of the school building, completely out of breath. She hoped that she didn't miss him and that he hadn't already gone home. They hadn't talked once today and she wanted to talk to him.

There was a bunch of things that she wanted to talk to him that she knew her brother wouldn't always understand but Izuku always had a fresh perspective. That and she wanted to hear if what she heard was correct about him wanting to go to U.A.

"Izu-kun! Izu-kun!" She called as she entered the courtyard and ran to the side of the school building, a familiar face coming into view. She smiled when she saw him look up at her and gave him a wave.

"Ah, Mi-chan! What are you doing here?" He asked and Mizuki could immediately see that there was something that bothered him. After all, he was terrible at keeping something to himself and secrets were his worst enemy.

"I'm looking for you. What's wrong? Did something happen?" She asked before her eyes fell onto the wet and burnt notebook he had in his grasp. Oh, she knew the reason. Izuku saw her troubled expression and quickly tried to hide the book.

"N-Nothing happened!" He received a look to tell him that she knew he was lying. "I can't hide anything from you, can I? Kacchan got upset because I want to apply to U.A. and blew up my notebook before throwing it out of the window," he explained.

So, it's true then…

Izuku flinched when sparks cracked on Mizuki's arm as she clenched her fist in anger. He swallowed thickly at her temper and then watched as she took a deep breath to calm herself down. She reached into her own bag and pulled something out.

"Here." She handed him the book her mother got her for designing. "You can have this. I know it won't replace yours but maybe you can rewrite your Hero Analysis," she told him and he waved his hands in front of him, shaking his head.

"I-I can't possibly-!"

"Shut up and take the book." He quickly complied when her voice lowered and bit his bottom lip as he stared at the book. It was still completely blank, nothing even written on the front. He expected her designing to be all over it but it seemed like she was too busy to draw.

"T-Thank you, Mi-chan. I'll be sure to treasure this book!" He proudly said, weird laughter coming from his mouth and Mizuki chuckled. He was being a clown again. It was better than him looking all down in the dumps.

"You can see it as a good luck from my side." He raised an eyebrow. "You're doing it, right? You're going to become a hero and show all of those assholes that even a Quirkless boy can be the best," Mizuki said and Izuku bit the inside of his cheek.

Mizuki saw his thoughts start to eat him up from the inside and gave him a sympathetic look. She knew that he had been constantly bullied because of his Quirkless status and no one believed that he could ever do it.

She had her doubts in the beginning. He would be dead weight if he went to fight against Villains and would only put himself in danger. Even so, he wanted to become a hero more than anyone. That's why she decided to throw away all those doubts and give him a thumbs up.

She put a hand on his shoulder and made him look at her with big green eyes. "No matter what anyone says, I'll support you. I'll sort out my Explodo-kill Brother and you need to go face everyone wrong, okay?" She gave him a warm smile with a wink.

Izuku felt tears forming in the corner of his eyes and looked at the empty notebook. He nodded, not saying a word because he knew that it would result in him crying. Mizuki chuckled and ruffled his hair before she started to walk away.

"See you later, Izu-kun!"

Mizuki waved him off and then exited the school grounds, glad that she managed to talk with him. She never mentioned about going to the Fashion High School in Okayama. She didn't want to put more things on his plate. He already had enough trouble as it was.

She looked down at her hands. She wanted to be there for him and help him where he needed her like she did when they were younger. These days, she hardly got any time to spend with him and everyone was busy with planning for the future.

Mizuki felt excluded. Become a hero and join her brother's side or become a designer and move away from his side… Maybe this was a sign for her to show that she could be independent from her brother.

She didn't want that.

Speaking of which, she reminded herself that her brother was the cause of Izuku's notebook being eaten by fish. She felt her temper flare and a frown came onto her face. He was going to hear from her as soon as she found him.

If she remembered correctly, he usually went with his friends to the arcade after school and they take the Tatooin Shopping District road to get there. She hoped that they didn't take a different route than normally or her scolding would have to wait until they get home.

The thought was a bit comforting because her mother would also have a go at him for bullying Izuku again. Though, it would make things only worse. Mizuki was painfully aware about her brother's irritation against the green haired boy.

It was a whole story about Izuku being quirkless but he never let it get him down. What made it worse was Izuku was compassionate and worried when one of them fell or of got injured. Katsuki being, well, Katsuki, saw that as an insult and since then everything went downhill.

"What a stupid brother I have… He's too prideful too prideful for his own good." she murmured softly with a sigh. As she looked up two pairs of crimson eyes made contact, Katsuki staring at her with a blank look as he held his can of juice.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

"Don't 'what the hell' me, Mister!" Katsuki's eyes widened when she painfully tugged his cheek, a growl escaping him. "You were picking on Izuku again! That's why the hell I'm here!" She scowled at him, the two male friends of Katsuki sweat dropping.

"HUH?! It's his fault for getting in my way! Why do you care about that shitty nerd anyway!" This time it was him pulling at her cheek as they bickered back and forth. Neither of them backing down in the alleyway.

"Because!"

"That's not even a reason! He's an idiot dreaming like a kid!" Katsuki scowled and pushed away from his sister. He angrily kicked away a bottle that lay on the ground and crushed the can in his hand with an explosion.

Mizuki rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest. "You can't fool me. You keep forgetting that we're twins. We both know what the real reason is," Mizuki pointed at him, her lips pursed and Katsuki frowned.

"Well, either way, the damage is already done. You owe me a new designer book" Katsuki gaped at her in disbelief. "And I don't want anything. I want the designer book with the peach cover and orange swirls since they have the best paper to draw on," Mizuki told him.

Katsuki stayed quiet, his face showing that he was about to blow and his friends backed away slightly. Katsuki then let out a sigh and pocketed his hands. There was no arguing against his sister and he was the cause of it.

"Fine, I'll buy you that stupid book," Katsuki muttered underneath his breath and Mizuki's eyes sparkled. His face paled when she launched towards him and caught him in a tight embrace, almost tackling him to the ground.

"Thank you! You're the best!" She exclaimed and Katsuki turned his head, not returning the embrace. However, the unconscious smile on his lips said otherwise. He enjoyed her warmth and it calmed him to the core.

"Wow, you guys are very close."

"SHUT UP!" They both yelled at his friends and they turned slightly blue. They were exactly the same as well. Mizuki broke the hug with her brother and looked back and forth between him and his friends. She didn't understand why he was friends with these two at all.

"Well, since everything's settled, why don't we go to the arcade for a change of pace? You're welcome to join us, Mizuki." It was a nice suggestion, the thought of beating her brother tempting but Mizuki shook her head with a small smile.

"Not today. Maybe some other time. I'd definitely want to show you how I kick Katsuki's ass without even breaking a sweat." She received a glare and a small explosion that erupted from her brother's palm.

"I'm going to head home." She looked at her brother and gave him a wink. "You go and enjoy it. I'll tell Mom to make dinner a bit later. Just don't stay out too long, okay?" She waved at him and he grunted.

She turned towards the exit of the alleyway and stepped into something sticky. She frowned, her face contorting into one that showed her disgust. It was short lived when her figure was suddenly overshadowed and red eyes widened as she looked up at a large slime monster.

"Watch out!"

She watched as he went to swing at her and she wanted to move but her feet were stuck in his stickiness. The Villain's hand neared her, her body starting to heat up. However, before he could touch her, Katsuki grabbed her and let loose a large-scale explosion.

The villain was pushed back and Mizuki was pulled behind her brother. That was close, very close. What was a villain doing here of all times? Where did he even come from? None of them even saw him until he was there.

"Mizuki-""I'm fine!" She replied, her body still a bit shaken up from almost being hit by the slimy villain. She saw Katsuki's anger flare but he kept still and his hand stopped her from advancing further.

"I was so close… But an invisible cloak with a great Quirk would do even better!" The Villain exclaimed and charged straight towards Katsuki. He pulled back his palms, smoke coming from the heat.

"Out of the way!" Mizuki cried and jumped over her brother. She pulled back her right leg and slammed it into the fluid Villain's face, then smirked. A large explosion erupted from the impact and resulted in him moving backwards.

"Hey! What the hell are you doing?! I was supposed to be the one to blow him away! No one asked you to intervene!" Katsuki snapped at his sister and a vein throbbed out of her head as she pushed her head against her brother's.

"Hah?! Well, I also didn't ask for you to intervene because I would've been fine on my own. I'm not complaining about it! So, shut it and let's get rid of this guy!" Mizuki said and Katsuki grinned maniacally.

"First one who gets him down, wins," Katsuki said and his terrified male friends looked at the twins in disbelief. Did they think this was a game?! They were facing a villain and probably a very dangerous one at that.

"Deal." What was wrong with these two?!

"Hahahaha! You two punks think you can honestly beat me! Let's see how well you can bark when I take one of you as my cloak!" He charged towards them and slammed his hand down. They both jumped to the sides and used the walls to propel them towards him.

Katsuki let loose a large explosion from the palm of his hand, causing the Villain to cough. When his vision cleared, Mizuki's feet came onto view and a large explosion erupted into the kick. He was sent crashing backwards into the streets.

The people in the streets screamed loudly in panic at the explosion and crash. The started to run away from the scene, trying not to get caught in the fighting. Mizuki rushed into the street, her brows furrowing.

"Hurry up and get away! Those of you who can, help the others to evacuate!" Mizuki told them, the citizens staring at the girl in her school uniform. Mizuki scoffed. Of course, they weren't going to listen to a Middle School Student.

A bunch of explosions erupted from next to her as Katsuki growled at her. "Didn't you hear her?! She said scram, you damn extras!" He yelled and the people immediately got away. Most of them because they felt intimidated by the fuming ash-blonde male.

"Such powerful quirks…but it looks like that little brat can use it all over her body." The Villain's voice reached their ears and the twins stood ready. "That means she's more worth!" He suddenly appeared in front of Mizuki and instead of being surprised, she smirked.

"Self Destruct!" Mizuki's entire body heated up and sparks appeared all over her skin. As he surrounded her, a large-scale explosion erupted. The windows of the shops next to them exploded and some of the wood from the stalls took aflame.

"Mizuki!" Katsuki called and heard a chuckle coming from the girl. She stood there with half torn clothing, a familiar dangerous gleam in her eyes. He could feel his own excitement rush through his system at the view.

"I guess that's my win, huh, Brother?" Mizuki stated arrogantly and gave him a cocky chuckle. Katsuki, hating to be the loser, growled and crossed his arms over his chest. He was not going to accept that at all-

His eyes widened when sludge appeared behind her and felt his feet move on their own. Mizuki felt shifting behind her and her eyes widened at the Villain that came into view. He chuckled and brought down his slime onto her.

Shit!

Mizuki's body was suddenly ripped away and thrown by Katsuki who switched places with her. She watched in horror as he was covered by the slime, her body becoming cold. She crashed into a nearby building, the wood around her aflame.

She coughed up blood when she hit something hard and her head made contact with the concrete wall. In that instant, her vision started to blur and she gritted her teeth. She couldn't let the villain win. She had to…

"Brother…"

She was suffocating. It felt like her body was being consumed by something sinister and no matter how hard she fought, nothing worked. She couldn't breathe, the sliminess pressing itself down her throat.

"Damn it!"

Mizuki felt consciousness return to her as her brother's voice rang in her head. Her blurry vision took a few seconds to settle. Her eyes widened at the fire burning around her and she coughed as the smoke burnt her lungs.

She quickly brought her hand in front of her mouth to avoid more smoke entering. However, she continued to cough rapidly as she pushed herself up into a standing position. She could hear explosion erupt from outside and managed to exit the shop.

All around her was fire. Her shock made her arm drop to her side and her body became cold when she saw the sludge villain still fighting. She didn't know against who. She only hoped that her brother was free.

She could see the heroes try to evacuate some of the citizens while Backdraft kept the fire at bay. Kamui Woods was at the rooftops, pulling people away from the damage and the other heroes…were just standing there?

There was a familiar cry, followed by cursing and Mizuki's breath caught in her throat. Katsuki was fighting against the sludge villain, his explosions causing more damage to the nearby buildings. Her knees felt weak and fear gripped her figure.

Why weren't the heroes doing anything? Couldn't they see her brother was in danger? She could feel the suffocating feeling crawling beneath her skin and the fear that tightly gripped her heart. No, she was going to lose him! All because there was no hero here to save him…

Mizuki felt something snap within her and her feet started to move on their own towards the sludge villain. She could feel sparks light up her entire body and then she caught sight of a green blur, her feet moving faster.

"Take that!" Izuku yelled as he threw the sludge monster with his yellow backpack, his can of juice landing perfectly on his eye. He pulled back, giving Katsuki a moment to cough for air before cursing at Izuku.

"Why are you here?!"

"My legs moved on their own! I don't know why, though! It just…looked like you were asking for help," Izuku stated, all teary eyed as he tried to claw away the liquid. His words gave Mizuki the strength to lit up her entire body as she jumped above him.

"Katsuki! You better grit those teeth of yours!" Mizuki yelled, everyone's eyes suddenly on her figure. Her body started to glow a bright white as she pushed the heat of her body, the secretion of her sweat increasing rapidly.

"Piercing Explosion!" The heat exploded right through the sludge villain, the liquid evaporating at the dangerously high temperature. The villain cried out in pain and his sludge that held Katsuki evaporated away, causing him to fall forward.

Izuku, being the only one there, managed to catch him and Mizuki fell onto the ground, completely out of breath. There was a moment of silence where everyone stared at the scene in disbelief and watched as the sludge monster even shrunk down.

The heroes stared at the girl in disbelief, steam still coming from her body and sweat trailing down her figure. Most of her clothing was burnt off but she looked identical to the boy who was caught in the sludge's grasp.

"M-Mi-chan! Y-You did it!" Izuku exclaimed as he watched his friend on her knees gasping for air. He stared at her in wonder but it quickly turned into worry when he saw the paleness of her skin and that she was wheezing for air.

"Let me go, Deku!" Katsuki pushed him off Izuku and landed next to Mizuki on his knees. "Y-You idiot! Y-You overheated y-your b-body." He coughed and watched as she looked up at him with a weak smile.

"I wasn't going to lose my brother."

"You damn brats! I'll kill you all!" The sludge villain yelled out in anger and charged towards the three kids once again. None of them able to defend themselves. Katsuki pulled his sister in an embrace to protect her against the impact but someone else came to their rescue.

"I really am pathetic," a deep male voice spoke up and their eyes widened at the number one hero that blocked the onslaught. "Even though I admonished you, I wasn't putting what I said into practice!" All Might ripped loose from the sludge and growled.

"Pros are always risking their lives! DETROIT SMASH!" He slammed down onto the villain and the three behind him could barely handle the wind that he created. All Might stood in front of them to shield them from his own attack and the villain was completely blown away.

After that one blow silence descended once again. Clouds started to accumulate and soon rain started to pour down on them. The trio looked up at the sky along with everyone else, amazed that he created clouds.

Mizuki managed to pull a faint smile and closed her eyes. "What a cool hero…" She murmured softly before passing out in her brother's arms. She faintly heard him call her name but exhaustion and a fever took her away into unconsciousness.
