Hi, everyone! I've been working very hard on this story and finally managed to write this piece. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did while writing it. Please feel free to review, I would love to hear your thoughts.

Disclaimer: I don't own My Hero Academia or any of its characters. Mizuki, however, is my own creation.

Let's start with the story, shall we?*

Chapter 4

Red eyes slowly fluttered open as consciousness reached Mizuki. She softly moaned, her mind hazy and her body felt numb. Everything around her felt vague and the faint smell of disinfectant reached her nose.

It took her a brief moment to notice that she was lying in a hospital bed, the room too familiar for her. The light of her room as switched off and no one else was lying in the hospital bed next to her. She was the only one in the room.

She started to remember what happened, the entire villain fight playing off in her mind. She recalled saving her brother and then All Might blew away the sludge with a single punch. After that she passed out.

A small smile came onto her lips as she thought about the number one hero that came to their rescue. She was sure that Izuku freaked out about it and that her brother was silently excited by the event.

Speaking of which… Her smile turned down into a frown. She managed to sit up in the bed, her body very sensitive from overheating with her quirk. She stared down at her hands, red eyes gleaming with a peculiar emotion.

She was able to save him despite paying a price. However, it didn't matter to her at all. As long as he was safe, she was happy. Even so, she was upset. There was more than one hero but none of them could do anything.

They only watched and hoped for a more suitable hero to appear. If it wasn't for All Might, it would've been too late. Her hands clenched tightly into fists and she bit her bottom lip. The thought was too terrifying for her to accept.

They could've done something!

Mizuki felt her temper flare and let out a deep sigh to calm herself. It didn't matter anymore. This had to happen for her to finally reach her resolve. She could think clearly again, the weight of her future finally off from her shoulders.

"Ah, I see you're awake!" A male voice reached her ears and the room was lit up. Mizuki glanced at the door and saw a grey-haired doctor with round glasses step into the room. He had a brown-haired female with cute small ears and green eyes by his side.

"Doctor Tanaka…"

He gave her a warm smile and a nod as he walked towards her. "I'm glad to see you're looking good, Mizuki. You had your parents and brother, though he won't admit it, worried. I was panicking for a moment when we couldn't get your fever under control," the doctor stated.

The nurse next to him pulled out a thermometer and Mizuki reluctantly opened her mouth for her temperature to be taken. She watched as the doctor inspected her vital statistics, her heart beat and blood pressure back to normal.

"You had a few bruises and cuts with a light concussion but luckily that wasn't the worst," he said and took the thermometer, her temperature back to normal. It was still in the range of a fever but very faint.

"You'll probably feel a bit woozy for a while. I talked with your parents and they said it's alright for you to stay the night." He watched as Mizuki's face distorted into an unpleasant expression and put a hand on her shoulder.

"Don't overexert yourself, Mizuki. You have a very powerful quirk. If you overuse it, you'll cause severe damage to your tissues. It's normal for muscle tissues to tear if you push your quirk usage but you have a special case. If you push it, you'll completely disintegrate your muscles," he warned.

Mizuki averted her eyes downwards, her hands clenching the blanket beneath her. She knew he was talking the truth but she didn't want to accept it. She always had trouble with her quirk and it was more harmful to her than helpful to others.

She was able to secrete nitro-glycerine-like sweat all over her body, hence the problem that she could easily overheat her body if she let loose too much explosions. If she also used her ultimate move like she did with the sludge villain it would worsen the situation.

"Well, I'll come check up on you again in the morning. If you need anything, you can just call one of the nurses," the doctor said and Mizuki nodded in recognition. They exited the room, no other words exchanged.

"It's about damn time you finish up, Old Man!" Katsuki's voice reached her ears and red eyes looked at the door where he stormed in. "All of these people are always so slow at hospitals," he angrily muttered underneath his breath.

Katsuki then looked up at Mizuki and walked towards her not saying anything. "I know what you're going to say, but I'm not going to apologize. I did what I had to do and I didn't want you to be taken over by that sludge idiot and-"

"Shut up, will you?" Katsuki said and Mizuki stopped her rambling while eyeing her brother carefully. His eyes were hidden beneath a shadow that fell over his eyes. He leaned over and lay his forehead down on her shoulder.

"I'm glad you're okay, Sis," his words were soft and Mizuki felt her heart give a tight squeeze. She wrapped her arms around him and lay her head down on his. She could feel the uneasiness from her brother start to fade away and a warm smile came onto her lips.

"Yeah, I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying right here with you," she said and heard a grunt from her brother. They stayed like that for a while, both of them enjoying staying next to each other and in a way, they both recharged.

"You want to stay until Mom and Dad gets here?" Mizuki asked and heard another grunt from her brother. He pulled back from the warmth and looked over her body. She looked much better and her colour returned, making him feel calmer.

"Move up already." Mizuki chuckled and moved over. Katsuki sat onto the bed next to her and shoved a rectangle present into her hands. He looked away to hide his blush but the red tint on his ears gave it away.

Mizuki opened up the present and her eyes lit up. On her lap was the peach coloured designing book that she wanted. She opened it up and saw her name written in a bold font, underneath it was written text: 'Don't stop with your stupid designing.'

Mizuki felt tears start to burn her eyes and she bit her bottom lip. She held the book close to her chest and lay her head on her brother's shoulder. She didn't care for the one or two tears that managed to cascade down her cheeks.

"Thank you, Brother."

"Shut up… It's not like I bought it because I wanted to. I owed you one, that's all," se grumbled out and scowled at the smile that dared to come over his lips. Mizuki chuckled to his dismay but she merely continued to lay on his shoulder.

"Yeah, I know," She told him and then closed her eyes as she relaxed against him. She still felt tired from the day's drama but now she could relax. Katsuki was safe and her body was still fine. She was sure that Izuku made it out fine and the Villain was defeated.

Everything was going to be fine.

After the sludge incident, everything seemed to calm down but only to some point. Katsuki's face was all over the news being the one who was captured by the villain. Mizuki was luckily not mentioned and Izuku was also left out.

She knew that it wasn't easy for Katsuki but he never complained. He merely went on with his daily life, his aggressive demeanour taken down a lot. He didn't lash out or throw insults like he usually did and kept his thoughts mostly to himself.

Mizuki sighed, he was the real idiot between the two of them. He knew that he could always go to her and get it off his heart but all he ever did was pile things up. She didn't have room to complain since she also did so but it was one of the things that frustrated her.

In the meanwhile, she went to discuss her future plans with her parents. Well, that was after she received a good scolding from both of them. She was grounded for two weeks and she prayed the time away.

She had decided to apply to U.A. with her brother, not wanting anything else. She could always do part time designing and having a hero title would increase her popularity… It was the story she told her parents and it wasn't a complete lie.

She could do part time designing and become popular but it wasn't the main reason. Mizuki wanted to become a hero because she wanted to be the one hero that would be helpful in all situations. She wanted to be the one hero who could solve all problems thrown in front of her.

She never wanted to wait for a hero. She never wanted to feel hopeless like that ever again and if it meant to go to U.A. and stay with her brother, all the better. Her decision was final and she had no doubts clouding up her mind.

Mizuki let out a breath as she wiped the sweat that ran down the side of her face. She took a jog outside to catch some fresh air, her recovery still in the back of her head. She had to train her body in the next ten months before the entrance exam.

She was not going to become lazy.

Mizuki glanced up at the sunset painted sky, the calm ocean waves moving in and out against the sand of the beach. It had been a while since she came to Dagoba Municipal Beach Park. She recalled coming here a lot when she was younger.

As she aged, her parents stopped coming here and more trash was piled up. People didn't mind getting rid of their stuff here even if it was illegally. They would merely blame it on the ocean and state that it came in from shipwrecks.

"What idiots…" She shook her head in disapproval and held the white facecloth around her neck. Her spandex pants with orange patterns fitted her athletic legs nicely and it matched the sleeveless orange coloured shirt she wore.

She wore her usual training shoes, the black and grey fitting anything she wore. Her usual black combat boots with red lace was sadly only for casual clothing but she vowed to herself to incorporate them into her hero costume one day.

"RWAH!"

Mizuki jumped slightly at the sudden shout and her brows furrowed. There was someone yelling at the trash heap and curiosity had her legs moving towards the sound. It was strange. No one ever came here and when they did, they would merely pass by.

"Put your back into it! Pull it with all your strength and put it in the truck!" Another deep, gruff voice shouted and Mizuki raised an eyebrow. Now she was even more curious as to what exactly was going on.

When she reached the spot where the screaming was coming from, she could only stare in disbelief. This was not what she was expecting at all. Of all the things she had seen in her life, she never thought that she would ever see something like this.

Izuku was desperately trying to push a big broken steel cupboard. He was frantically moving his feet against the sand but the object didn't even move an inch. Across from him stood a scrawny male, his dark eyes with metallic blue gaze looking at the teen struggling.

It was too much. "What the hell are you doing?" She caught herself asking before she could stop. Their attention was on her immediately and Izuku fell backwards. He quickly regained his composure and stood up while shaking his hands in front of him.

"M-Mi-chan! W-What are you doing here?"

Mizuki crossed her arms over her chest and raised an eyebrow as she stopped in front of him. "I could ask you exactly the same question, Izu-kun. Who's your new friend?" Mizuki asked as he glanced at the older male.

"A-Ah, w-well, t-t-this is my…um…personal trainer!" He replied and both of them gave him a look of disbelief. "Y-Yeah! H-He's been helping me train so I can be ready for U.A's entrance exam!" Izuku quickly added and Mizuki's brow twitched.

"Let me get this straight. This scrawny, anorexic, scruffy haired guy-" Each word she said resulted in a stabbing pain in the said male's chest. "-is your personal trainer. Hence the reason why you're pushing around illegal scrap on this beach. Did I miss something?" She asked.

"Mi-chan! You can't call him that!"

"And why not?" She asked as she cocked her head to the side and Izuku wanted to reply. He almost told her that it was actually All Might, the number one hero who saved their lives, that was personally training him but kept his mouth shut.

"Um, if I may, you're Bakugou's sister, right?" The male asked and Mizuki nodded. "Ah, I wondered when I would meet you! Young Midoriya has told me a lot about you and how you always encourage him to become a hero. I wanted to thank you for always being there for him."

His words had Mizuki blush and she cleared her throat while averting her eyes away from him. "D-Don't mention it. Someone has to keep his hopes up," she quickly replied and regained her composure before holding out her hand.

"Bakugou Mizuki. Just Mizuki is fine."

He smiled and took her hand. "Toshinori Yagi, nice to meet you Young Mizuki! What brings you here on this beach this time of the day?" Toshinori asked as he took in her appearance, surprised at how much she resembled her brother.

"I was taking a jog to get my mind clear. Doctor said I can't train intense yet so I'm merely trying to keep my body in routine," she replied and looked at Izuku. "I guess you're busy building some muscles, neh, Izu-kun?" Izuku laughed lightly while scratching the back of his head innocently.

"Y-Yeah… I'm glad you're alright, Mi-chan. I'm sorry I couldn't come to visit you. Things were so busy and Kacchan…" Mizuki shook her head and gave him a warm smile as she interrupted his rambling. If he continued then they would be here all night.

"Don't stress about it. I only stayed the night before heading home. Mom grounded me for a terrible two weeks too so I don't blame you. Besides, I did get those flowers you left me so we're good." She winked at him and he blushed wildly, too much in a stutter to find words.

Mizuki chuckled and shook her head. "Well, I'm off. You keep training hard but don't overdo it, 'kay? Please keep an eye on him, Toshinori-san. He's a bit soft but I'm sure that he'll blow away your expectations," she told the blonde and he nodded with a smile.

"B-Bye, M-Mi-chan!"

"Bye, Izu-kun! See you later!" Mizuki called as she ran into a comfortable jog, her figure moving elegantly as she continued with her exercise. Izuku stared at her figure and an unconscious smile came onto her lips.

Toshinori noticed this and raised an eyebrow. The boy was completely relaxed and his mood rocketed when she arrived. It was an interesting development and he didn't expect it to ever happen with Bakugou's sister.

"Young Midoriya, I didn't know you had a girlfriend."

Izuku exclaimed in shock and shook his head while waving his arms frantically. "G-G-Girlfriend?! No way! M-Mi-chan is only a friend! W-We could never be a couple! Kacchan would have my head if that happened!" Izuku pointed out.

"It's just…we've been friends since childhood and I've always looked up at her. She's always so kind and compassionate. She does a lot of things on impulse but she always means well. I guess you can say she's the only best friend I've ever had," Izuku spoke warmly of her and Toshinori huffed.

"If you say so. Now, enough talking about girlfriends! You still have to clear this cupboard and a few tires before we're done! Get back to work!" Toshinori hurried the teen, the green haired boy snapping out of his thoughts.

"Yes, sir!"

Mizuki had a smile plastered on her lips the entire jog back home, finding that seeing Izuki made her feel better. She hadn't seen him after all the Villain events and wondered how he was coping with what happened. At least she could see that he was doing just fine.

"Oi! You're late!" Mizuki glanced up when she heard her brother's voice and saw him standing at the gate. He leaned against the wall, his arms crossed over his chest and his usual scowl forming on his lips.

"Sorry about that!" Mizuki said as she stopped next to him and took in deep breaths to regain herself. "I got side tracked on the way home, the fresh air was addictive. You wouldn't believe what I saw when-"

"Don't care." Katsuki turned on his heels and headed towards the door. Mizuki gave him a narrowed look, her brow twitching in agitation. If he didn't care then he wouldn't have waited for her in the first place. Why was he always so dishonest to himself?

Deciding that two can play at that game she let out an exasperated sigh. She walked behind him and hummed softly as she wiped away the sweat that cascaded down the side of her face. She saw him glance back at her and a sinister grin came onto her lips when she saw her chance.

"It's too bad that you don't care. I thought that you would be interested in hearing that I saw Izu-kun on my little jog." She saw him freeze up and walked past him, looking back mischievously. She knew that he was going to crack at the look he gave her.

She entered the house and took off her trainers before she snapped her fingers as if she was remembering something. "Ah, I almost forgot to say he looked so motivated with that personal trainer of his." Her words were enough to set her brother off.

3…2…1...

"WHAT?! Deku has a what?! That little shit got himself a personal trainer?!" Katsuki yelled loudly, the whole house almost shaking at his volume. Mizuki lazily nodded at him before he grabbed her shoulders, shaking her slightly.

"Where did you see him?!"

"Oh? I thought you weren't interested." Mizuki watched in amusement as her brother's face fell. Small explosions on her shoulders made him pull back in surprise. "If you snooze, you lose, Little Brother," she told him and then headed up the stairs to take a well-deserved shower.

"You know what, screw you and that damn stupid nerd! No personal trainer will ever be enough to beat me! And you're only older by a few seconds! Don't get cocky, Mizuki!" He yelled at her, veins throbbing on his skin.

He could hear Mizuki laugh at him, the sound fading away when she entered the bathroom. He clicked his tongue and grinded his teeth together. It was frustrating. He already warned Izuku not to apply to U.A and yet the nerd went against his words.

He was getting too confident for his own good.

"Katsuki! Stop yelling like a maniac and set the table already!" His mother's booming voice came from upstairs and he angrily huffed yet did what she asked him to do. He didn't feel like having an argument with her.

He found himself constantly thinking about Mizuki and how she and Izuku was getting way too close for his taste. There was no way Izuku would ever dare to overstep the boundaries but that wasn't the same for Mizuki.

He suddenly felt a strange, giddily feeling rush up in his chest and he growled dangerously. Not long after, Mizuki came waltzing in the dining room with half dry hair that still spiked in every direction. It was still unknown if the spiky hair was a curse or a blessing.

"Wipe that look off your face! You're making me feel weird!" Katsuki scowled and Mizuki blinked in surprise. "What has you in a good mood anyway?" Mizuki felt a wave of irritancy wash over her and her brow twitched.

"Hah?! What's it got to do with you whether I'm in a good mood or not? You said it yourself, didn't you? 'Don't care'," she mocked him while quoting him and crossed her arms over her chest, red eyes glaring at each other.

"So what? I don't care. The only reason it's bugging me is because you're making me feel all stupid inside. Keep your emotions to yourself," he pointed out and Mizuki gave him a blank stare as her mind started to comprehend his words.

"Wait, what?"

"What do you mean what? Did you hit your head on the way back home? I said that you're making me feel all stupid inside with your bubbling emotions. I think we should get you back to the doctor. It looks like you lost a few braincells." His statement got him a good knock on the head from her fist.

She was about to snap him but felt a disturbed feeling in her chest at the pain she caused. Katsuki was about to yell back at her and probably give her a payback hit but saw her look at her hands with a stunned expression.

"No way… No way! Do you know what this means?!" She excitedly asked. "We're connected! It's that cool twin thing they talk about. The thing about being able to feel each other's emotions and pain! How didn't I notice it sooner?" He looked at her as if she was crazy.

"Come on… Fine, if you don't believe me then give me your best shot," she said and stood still, her encouragement making him grin madly. She was going to regret this now until later. Even so, she wanted to know if this was real.

"Then…"

He pulled back his right arm and explosions sparked at his palm making Mizuki's eyes widened. "I never said to use your quirk! I just finished recovering!" She tried to escape him as she ran around the dinner table, her brother hot on her trail.

"You said you wanted to test it, right? This is obviously the best way!" Mizuki highly doubted it. He was out to get her, the grin on his face clearly giving that away. He nearly caught her, adrenaline soaring through her system.

"Missed me!" She called towards him and the entire chasing became a game for the twins, the true purpose behind it long gone. She laughed as he neared her and jumped up, two pair of red eyes challenging each other.

Masaru and Mitsuki walked past the room and saw the two teens tease each other all the way around the table. Mitsuki was about to stop her but found the hand on her shoulder kept her in place. She glanced back at her husband, Masaru giving her a small smile.

"Leave them. They need to have some fun. Ever since the incident they've been tense. Give them a bit of time to let loose," Masaru told his wife and Mitsuki let out a sigh with a nod. She looked back at the two, a smile coming onto her lips at their laughter.

"Alright, but I'm not cleaning up that mess. This is going to be on your record," she warned him and walked into the kitchen, his chuckle following her. The two teens didn't even notice their parents' presence as they continued.

Mizuki managed to dodge another blow from her brother and used the opportunity to jump onto the staircase. "If you can't catch me, you'll eat my dust at the entrance exam, Little Brother," she teased and he chuckled darkly.

"Then get ready to be caught, Big Sis!"
