Hi, everyone! I hope you all enjoy this story as much as I did while writing it. Please feel free to review, I would love to hear your thoughts.

Let's start with the story, shall we?*

Chapter 26

The next two matches were entertaining enough to have the time pass by. Iida went against Mina in the sixth match and did the same as Izuku, pushing her out of the ring before she knew it. he carefully avoided her onslaught of acid and won the match with a curt bow.

The seventh battle was somewhat of the same calibre. Tokoyami went against Momo, his dark shadow pushing against her shield that she made. However, where she could attack, she faltered and it resulted in her also falling outside of the ring.

It seemed that the dark-haired female lacked confidence in her skills. She had an amazing Quirk and was seen as the smartest girl in the class, yet, her self-confidence was nowhere near where it should be. The broken look on her face when she lost told them all that much.

The last match of the day was the one that had Mizuki's full attention. She wanted to watch it before she went to the waiting room for her next match. She would offer up a little time to see the end result.

"Let's move on to the eight and last match of the first round! We move on to these guys! He's good! He's good, but what's with that plainness he just can't get rid of? From the hero course, it's Hanta Sero!" Present Mic started.

"Verses… Taking second, then first in the prelims! You're way too strong, kid! He wasn't recommended for admission for nothing! Also from the hero course, It's Shoto Todoroki!" Present Mic introduced.

Mizuki frowned and rested her chin on her intertwined hands. He had been missing in action throughout the day. He didn't sit with the rest of the class and she hadn't seen him elsewhere in the meanwhile either.

After she spoke her mind freely, he seemed to be avoiding everyone. The look on Izuku's face told her enough to know that he was concerned about this battle. Not for Shoto but for Sero who was his opponent.

Mizuki's brows knitted together as she looked at the divided coloured haired male. His eyes hid beneath a shadow but by the way he stood she could read his anger. His expression hadn't gotten any better. On the contrary, it was worse.

"Ready… Start!"

Sero stretched his neck and then shot out his tape without another moment of hesitation. He wrapped Shoto in his tape and then swiftly moved him to the side, hoping to push him out of the ring.

"A surprise attack aimed to push his opponent out of bounds! Don't you think that was the best choice for this situation?! Seriously, get him, Sero!" Present Mic scolded the male, wanting a more challenging fight after both the previous fights pushed their opponents out of the ring.

Mizuki was about to roll her eyes but stopped midway when there was a soaring sound that reached her ears. She could feel the temperature falling drastically and, in a flash, a gigantic piece of ice was shooting out from half of the stadium.

Mizuki's eyes were wide, much like everyone else as they stared at the close proximity of the large piece of ice. She inhaled shakily. She didn't expect him to use this right of the bat. He was this strong?!

"Sero, can you move?" Midnight asked the male, half frozen up herself as the other male was covered up to his face. He gave her a blunt answer, not believing that she was actually asking him that question.

"Sero-kun is immobilized! Todoroki-kun advances to the second round!" Midnight announced, not able to hit her whip to the side because of her frozen state. The crowd were quiet, staring at the scene with blank expressions.

"Don't worry about it!" One person in the crowd started to call and soon everyone joined in as they called out towards Sero. Rinako joined in, shouting at the top of her lungs for him not to worry about it.

"Hey, you're embarrassing me, Rinako! Keep it down!" Akira scolded the female as she gave her a lightly hit on her head. Rinako pouted, puffing out her cheeks as she glared at the dark-haired female.

"You're so mean! I'm just trying to cheer up the guy who was beaten up by your piece of eye candy. Why did he have to go that far anyway?!" Rinako shouted, pointing at the large piece of ice that stuck out from the stadium

"How should I know? He looked pissed so maybe someone didn't tell him he was cute?" Akira stated and had Rinako nearly fall over in her seat. This girl… She was too obsessed with the male to think logically.

"You can't deny it. He's insanely hot and he's powerful too!" Akira stated and crossed her arms over her chest. "It's kind of difficult to think that Mizuki beat him…" Akira trailed off and Rinako looked at her with big eyes.

"W-Well, she got the better of him! She outsmarted his unfairly powerful Quirk!" Rinako countered weakly, her own doubts forming. The results were set in stone. Yet, if he was this powerful how did Mizuki manage to win him?

"It doesn't matter now. We should focus on the first match of the second round. Mizuki's up, remember?" Akira reminded the blonde and Rinako clapped her hands in excitement as she bounced up and down.

"Yay! Go get 'em, MizukI-chan!" Rinako cheered, beaming as she made a bunch of different cheer gestures. Akira chuckled at the girl's behaviour and returned her gaze towards the stage where the boy was unfreezing his own ice berg.

He looks so sad…

Mizuki let out a sigh as she walked down the hallway towards the waiting room. Her hands were pocketed by her side and her crimson eyes lazily looked ahead of her. Her thoughts were sealed off and her lips were pressed into a straight line.

Her brows twitched when she caught sight of a vaguely familiar flame. She briefly stopped in her tracks as she observed the person who walked down the hall across from her. She could feel her frown come and her brow raised.

What is he doing here? Mizuki thought as she took in the familiar hero costume. The navy turquoise bodysuit, lined with flames streaming across his chest upper torso, arms and shoulders was enough to recognize him.

Enji Todoroki
Hero name: Endeavor
Quirk: Hell flame

If she recalled correctly, he was Shoto's father and the number two hero as informed by Akira. She dug him up quicker than anyone could ever blink. The question now was, why on earth was he walking around dandily where he shouldn't be?

She recalled Shoto's expression and found herself frowning deeply. Could he be the reason why Shoto lost his temper and nearly blew away the stadium with his ice? She didn't know but it didn't sit right with her.

Shrugging off her troubling thoughts, she walked towards her designated waiting room while ruffling the back of her head. She was concerning herself with other people's problems when she should be focusing on her own.

"Mizuki!" The said girl glanced back, meeting a pair of big red eyes shining towards her. For a brief moment he had to close her eyes to not go blind. Eijiro was a bit out of breath as she grinned widely at her.

I'm going to lose my eyesight if this keeps up. Mizuki thought and opened her eyes slowly. "What's up, Red? Did you need something?" Mizuki asked with a raised brow. Eijiro swallowed thickly and then exhaled.

"It's a bit embarrassing to do it in front of everyone so I thought that if I could get you alone, I could ask. I guess my timing needs a bit more work though." Eijiro rubbed the back of his head, his nervousness gleaming in his eyes.

"I-If everything is finished… D-D-Do you want to go on a date with me?" Eijiro asked, his lips quivering as he gave Mizuki a hard stare. The ash blonde female blinked a few times and found her heart skip a beat.

"Hah? Are you an idiot?" Mizuki snapped around to keep her expression away from him. A gleam of sadness passed through his eyes. "You're going to need my brother's approval first…" His eyes widened at her words.

"Concentrate on getting that and then…Maybe! I'll consider it," Mizuki told him and walked away as she bit her bottom lip. Eijiro's face lit up brightly, warmth spreading in his chest he grunted and made a fist.

"Count on me! And good luck!"

Mizuki huffed as she stepped into the waiting room. She closed the door behind her and inhaled deeply. That idiot… She thought and started to stretch out her muscles. She was going against Kaminari, his Quirk a pain if she got hit. She had an idea that he was going all the way from the beginning.

She smirked as she cracked her knuckles. She needed to win this match to have the possibility of fighting either her brother or Eijiro. She was aiming for the top with the rest, she wasn't going to lose against Kaminari.

Later on…

"It looks like they're done with all the preparations for the next round to start. I'm getting excited to see what's going to happen in the next match!" Eijiro said with a big grin as he bounced in excitement.

"Shut up, Shitty Hair," Katsuki snapped at him but it was much weaker than normally. Eijiro's grin stayed on his lips as he glanced at the ash blonde male. He stared at the stage, the fire at the corners of the concrete block roaring to life.

"Everyone, sorry for the long wait! The stage that was frozen in the last match is finally dry, so on to the next match! It's the first match of the second round! Mizuki! Verses! Kaminari!" Present Mic announced, the two blondes stepping out onto the stage.

"Wah… Mi-chan against Kaminari-kun… Kaminari's Quirk is supposed to be strong but Mi-chan is a very strong opponent. She can move freely and easily with her Quirk and agility. He would have to be able to touch her or direct his currents towards her but knowing Mi-chan she would be faster and incapacitate her opponent before they would be able to…" Izuku mumbled.

Everyone turned blue from the male's mumbling as his brain tried to work out what the results of the match would be. His words bounced off Katsuki, the ash blonde male's temper flaring as he gritted his teeth.

"Umm, Deku-kun?"

"Ah! Oh no! Sorry! I-I went off again without noticing!" Izuku slapped a hand over his mouth as he flushed shyly. He hadn't even noticed her began to mutter everything aloud. How embarrassing that everyone heard him!

Ochaco smiled warmly, Iida merely observing the two and then averted his eyes to the field in front of them. There were a lot of opportunities and turn of events that could happen in this match. He was uncertain if Mizuki would be able to get out on top of this match.

"But man, Mizuki against Kaminari, huh? She may be strong but if Kaminari got the best of her then she'll lose," Sero mused aloud as he cupped his cheek in thought. Mineta jumped up, steam coming from his nose.

"Get her, Kaminari! Beat her!"

"Beat him, Mizuki! Don't let him win!" Jiro countered Mineta's shout, the two glaring at each other with tension rising. They were enemies and whoever won this match would determine who would win. It was more than just Kaminari against Mizuki. It was boys versus girls.

"Hey, hey, there's no need to start a fight now. We're about to watch the match," Eijiro said in a disapproving tone. His brows furrowed as he watched the two who didn't lighten their glares at each other.

"Are you ready for the first match of the second round?!" Present Mic called and made them look back at the stage. Mizuki had her face impassive as she watched Kaminari who had an arrogant smirk plastered on his lips.

"You can give up now, if you want, Mizuki. I'll respect your decision if you think I'm stronger than you. You won't be wrong," Kaminari told her with a smug expression, a mocking gleam passing through his eyes.

Mizuki didn't give him the satisfaction of a reaction, her crimson eyes blazing as she glared at him. It was the same as when she fought against Shinso. It was unnerving and sending shiver down his spine.

"Okay! Let's start!"

"Indiscriminate Discharge! 1,3 million Volts!" Kaminari activated his Quirk as Mizuki let out an explosion on her feet to shoot her high into the air. His eyes widened at the female's move, the electricity not reaching her.

"Oh? Mizuki predicted what Kaminari's first move would be and took to the skies to avoid being electrocuted. What will Kaminari do now?" Present Mic asked over the microphone while Aizawa sat quietly by his side.

He had been eyeing her throughout the entire festival and so far, so good. He hadn't seen any abnormalities. She fought normally and despite the strange group she made with the cavalry battle, he didn't feel alerted. Even so, he was keeping a close eye on her.

Mizuki floated in the air as she waited for Kaminari's Quirk to die down. That was close. If she waited a moment later, then she would've been in trouble. She knew that he would want to finish the match as soon as possible since he didn't want to engage in combat.

Mizuki smirked and blasted herself towards the male. He was near his limit of his brain short circuiting and wouldn't be able to let out an enormous amount of electricity. She had the upper hand.

"I don't plan on losing against you, Electro-dunce!" Mizuki shouted and pulled her arm back. Kaminari let out a yelp as she brought her hand down, explosions crackling on her skin. He jumped to the side to dodge.

He cried out when he felt the skin of his arm burn and his clothing sizzled. Mizuki spun around and then pulled her leg back for a kick. He wouldn't be able to evade the attack, especially not in his current state.

Mizuki let out a cry as she kicked him, an explosion erupting from her leg. Her clothing tear from the force and heat of the explosion. Smoke engulfed the entire area, red eyes widening when she felt a grip on her leg.

Don't tell me-!

Kaminari held her leg with both his arms, his clothing and skin burnt from taking the explosion head on. He breathed heavy, his body twitching as he struggled to keep himself conscious and in the right mind.

"I…can still…win…" Kaminari said and Mizuki growled. She let out another explosion on her leg, Kaminari's grip on her tightening. He wasn't going to let go and he had her in a compromising position.

"Try…and dodge…this!"

Mizuki let out a cry as she was electrocuted by the male's Quirk. She was hit full blown, the current running through her body. It was excruciating. Kaminari let go of her leg, Mizuki staggering back and fell onto her one knee.

"Mi-chan!" Izuku called out towards the female as he watched her being electrocuted. Everyone flinched at her cry of pain and stared at the stage in worry. He used her move against her to make sure that he got her immobilized.

"It looks like Kaminari caught Mizuki off guard! Just when she was ready to give him the finishing blow, he managed to turn the tables! How will Mizuki get out of this predicament?" Present Mic asked.

"Damn it, he caught her but it looks like he's got some serious burn wounds," Sero pointed out. Kaminari bit down hard on his bottom lip, his uniform jacket and shirt burnt straight through from the explosion.

"W-Wait, if she can't move then does that mean he won?" Eijiro asked with wide eyes, realization dawning on him. Mizuki was going to lose? She beat the strongest in the class with training and busted through everything that came her way in the festival only to come this far.

"She won't lose," Katsuki said and Eijiro looked at Katsuki, a pair of green eyes from Midoriya catching the expression. "Mizuki won't lose." The way he said it had the duo's eyes widen. He was earnest and serious as he stared at the stage, almost as if he could see the future.

"Don't give up, Mizuki!" Jiro called out towards the blonde, Mina jumping up to join her. They called out towards the ash blonde, hoping their words would reach her. Eijiro found himself smirking and looked with eyes filled with hope at the stage.

Mizuki gritted her teeth, her body and limbs twitched but she wasn't able to move. She completely let herself be fooled by the blonde male who was hanging on a string to his consciousness. He was gutsy to face her explosion head on, twice and definitely had burn wounds.

She watched as he wanted to take a step towards her and shot him a deadly glare, making him hesitate in his step. The amount of danger that surrounded her, had his body screaming at him not to move.

W-What's this tension? I feel like I'll be killed if I go closer. S-She's a monster! Kaminari thought, his body fear stricken from her mere gaze. He saw her try to move, her body trembling from the shock she received.

"Mizuki can you-""RWAH!" Mizuki cut off Midnight's question with a cry, an explosion erupting from her feet. The force sent her straight towards Kaminari, her head hitting his chin with enough force to make him stagger back.

"Mizuki strikes back with a head blow! It looks like Kaminari's electricity wasn't that effective against her!" Present Mic yelled out, his arms waving in the air. Aizawa's brows furrowed and he frowned.

"No, it was very effective." Present mic glanced at his partner. "Mizuki used her explosions to propel her body forward, knowing that she would lose the match if she couldn't move," Aizawa explained, the other announcer's eyes widening.

He grabbed his chin in pain, tears forming in the corner of his eyes. He looked up at Mizuki's twitching body as she stood, her limbs shakily moving. She let out a breath of steam, her eyes hiding behind a shadow.

Sparks appeared all over her body and then moved towards her arm. Mizuki smirked as she let explosions go loose on her right arm, the limb shot straight towards Kaminari. She let out a large explosion as soon as it aimed for him.

"Gah!" Kaminari was send flying out of the ring from the impact and landed on the gras of the field with a thump. He lay unconscious with burn wounds on his arms and abdomen where he grabbed her.

"Kaminari is out of bounds! Mizuki advances to the next round!" Midnight announced, her hand shooting up in the air. The spectators all cheered while Mizuki breathed heavy, the spasms of her muscles lightening into a prickling sensation.

"Don't…underestimate me…" Mizuki rasped out to the male, smoke surrounding her arm from the explosion that dispersed. She let out a breath, her body relaxing as she felt her limbs being able to move again.

Mizuki saw the medic robots lift his body up on a stretcher and turned to walk away. A shadow fell over her eyes and she didn't look up to anyone or the crowds as they cheered. She waited until she was out of everyone's sights before felling against the wall.

She inhaled shakily as she felt her vertigo kick in. Her hand covered her mouth, everything around her spinning briefly. She lay her head against the cold wall and steadily breathed, trying to get rid of the symptoms.

Damn it! Looks like his Quirk did more damage than I thought. I don't have time for this nonsense! I need to hurry up and watch the next match! She thought and angrily pushed self onto her feet, regretting it slightly when the dizziness kicked in.

Get a grip, Mizuki.

As much as she was against the thought, it might be better for her to first go to recovery girl before she went to watch the match. She had a feeling that if she pushed herself too much, she wouldn't be able to watch the match anyway.

It felt like an eternity until she finally reached the infirmary of Recovery Girl, knocking as she stood in front of the door. Mizuki felt a bit better, the vertigo more tolerable. She hadn't heard any announcements yet and hoped that's he didn't miss the match.

"Come in!" The female voice reached her ears a pair of soft eyes blinking when Mizuki stepped inside. "Ah, Mizuki-san. I wondered if I was going to see you after that match. Come and sit down," Recovery Girl said.

Mizuki caught sight of Kaminari who was bandaged up on his arms and his abdomen. He was currently sleeping, his facial expression telling her he was still suffering from the after effects of using his Quirk.

"Sorry for disturbing you. I-um, thought I was fine but I guess his Quirk had more negative effects," Mizuki stated with a small frown. Recovery Girl moved away from Kaminari, her brows furrowing as she watched Mizuki sway slightly until she was sitting on the bed.

"What seems to be the problem, Mizuki-san?" Recovery Girl asked as she sat down on her chair, her eyes traveling over the ash blonde's body. There were a few scratches she had on her leg and arm but the most alarming thing was her pale complexion.

"I've been incredibly nauseous ever since the match and I get dizzy spells," Mizuki informed her and Recovery Girl hummed. She pulled out a file, Mizuki sitting in her own silence and concentrating on keeping her balance on the bed.

"Have you experienced any headaches, ringing in ears, numbness or tingling?" Mizuki shook her head in answer. Recovery Girl frowned, her eyes travelling over the file she had at hand before she looked back at Mizuki.

"How regular to you get these symptoms?"

MIzuki bit the inside of her cheek. "Not very regular. I haven't felt like this in a week. I only started to feel like this during the first part of the festival and now… I guess it's not because of the fight…" Mizuki trailed off and the older hero shook her head.

"No, unfortunately not. It seems like you're having side effects from your injuries from the villain attack." Mizuki's eyes widened. "It's not uncommon to have a period that you feel fine and then relapse. It looks to me that you have post-concussion syndrome," she stated.

"What does-?!" Mizuki's hand flew to her mouth and the old woman pulled closer a bucket. Mizuki hesitantly grabbed it and held it tightly. She waited for the nausea and the dizziness to subside. It wasn't getting better.

"From the fractures you've sustained, you also suffered from a mild concussion. After the week of rest and no symptoms, it started. It happens 10-20% of individuals and they can experience it in long term. It can even go up to months and years," Recovery Girl's words only made her feel worse.

"It's normal to experience dizziness, nausea, fatigue, irritability and so forth. I'm a bit relieved that you haven't had any headaches, meaning that it isn't as prominent. I'm going to prescribe you something for the vertigo but you're going to have to rest," she said, Mizuki's brows knitting together.

"What about the rest of the matches?" She asked and flinched at Recovery Girl's serious expression. "Please, I really want to watch the next match and I still have my next match. I promise to rest in between."

"If you push yourself, you're only going to make your symptoms worse." Mizuki gritted her teeth in frustration. Recovery Girl watched the girl and let out a sigh. Their youthfulness was going to be the end of her.

"I'm going to give you something to help with the vertigo and then you can go watch the next match." Mizuki's eyes widened. "BUT! You have to come and rest immediately until your next match," she stated in a stern tone.

"I will-""I'm not done yet." Mizuki shut her mouth and the older woman let out a sigh. "Whoever you fight in the next match, you need to be careful. No pushing yourself more than needed!" She harshly warned, pointing her finger towards Mizuki.

Mizuki smirked and grunted. "I'll keep myself in check. Thank you!" She said, her red eyes gleaming brightly. Recovery Girl let out another sigh as she went to work. She warned the girl but had an unsettling feeling that she wasn't going to listen to her.

After all, they were teenagers.
