Time for a new goddess to make her first debut here! How will her introduction turn out in my adaptation? Let's find out!

Enjoy! ;)

Chapter 11: Viridi, Goddess of Nature

"Ahhh… I've never felt so relaxed before!" Eight sighed, as the Loyal Bodyguards were now relaxing in one of the Temple's hot springs after having experimented it two times before during the two previous missions. This time, however, they went in without their clothes on.

"You said it!" Arusu agreed and sighed. "Man, this is the life…"

"I remember that I relaxed in a sauna before in my world, in a village called Hotto." Eleven recalled. "Of course, a hot spring is way better!"

"Glad it's not a Puff-Puff treatment, for once." Solo joked, leading all four of them to laugh. "Still…" he frowned. "I can't help but feel bad for Palutena after what happened…"

The others mirrored his expression. "Oh yeah, right…" Eleven said. "She's been feeling down lately ever since we defeated the Phoenix. She thinks it's her fault that the humans are now at war with each other."

"Well, the one who actually needs to be blamed for this is Hades." Arusu stated. "He's the one who set up that trap in the first place."

"True, but we've all fallen for it too, not just the humans." Solo reminded. "And while we know that this was a lie, the humans on the other hand actually believed in it due to their desire and greed." this led Arusu to sigh with a clear hint of frustration. "Yeah, it's frustrating, but there's no going back anymore I'm afraid."

"We can only hope we'll find a way to stop this war before all the humans are killed…" Eight sighed sadly, with the others nodding in agreement.

Soon…

After the Loyal Bodyguards came out of the hot spring room fully clothed, the entire gang wasted no time in getting ready to set off. After getting their weapons, they met up with Palutena in her room. Despite feeling all gloomy as the Heroes mentioned above, she got to work on giving the Magic Wings to the group and opening the gates.

"Reporting for duty!" Pit exclaimed as he and his friends flew out the gates. The moment they stepped out and arrived at a valley, several yells from below greeted their ears. They all looked down, and gasped at the horrific sight below: just as Palutena feared previously, a tremendous army of humans were fighting one another.

"By the goddesses…" Zelda whispered saddened as they began to fly down closer to the war zone to witness more of this gruesome scenario, seeing human soldiers clashing fiercely with each other. One soldier was decapitated, with blood spraying everywhere from its beheaded neck as the gang cringed at that. Next, they saw a trio of soldiers getting shish kebab'd by a single spear impaling through their torsos, and at the distance they could see several catapults hurling flaming rocks that took out large groups of soldiers. Flying down a bit closer, the gang saw a soldier kicking another one brutally to the ground like a feral animal, before snapping his downed opponent's neck afterwards. As the many casualties kept on going, it soon came to the point where it was just too much to bear for the gang, and so they looked away with silent tears in their eyes.

"This turned out to be worse than I thought…" Shulk whimpered. He, including Melia, began to wonder if the war between the races from Bionis and Mechonis went as bad as this one.

"The humans have fallen for Hades's hoax. They're killing themselves over that fantasy." Palutena lamented.

"We can see that." Pit threw in. "It looks like entire nations are fighting each other."

"The Underworld Army is here to gather souls. Clearly, they expect many casualties." and to further emphasize that, a few Monoeyes and Syrens soon came into the scene and the gang on instinct proceeded to shoot them down.

"No doubt about it." Solo agreed.

"We can't stop a war this big right now. Focus on the Underworld Army."

"Roger!" Melia nodded as they continued shooting Underworld monsters that were flying over a ravaged, war-torn town within the valley.

"So things are going exactly as Hades planned." Arusu said after a while, looking back down at the non-stopping chaos.

"He spread the rumor about the Wish Seed. And the humans were gullible enough to believe it." Palutena replied.

"That's exactly what we feared…" Eleven sighed.

"If only we'd had a chance to tell them the Wish Seed was a fake. Now look at them." Trifle said gloomily. "It's like they've lost their humanity, and all they have left is…brutality!"

Even if they knew Hades started it, the gang couldn't help but feel responsible for this carnage, seeing as the result of them killing the Phoenix led to this. But then, after the gang took out a few monsters, the sky suddenly began to lit up, catching Jewel's attention as she looked up at it.

"Hey… what's that glow in the sky?" she wondered as the rest followed her gaze, seeing a bright light appearing right above them… and taking the shape of a large flaming meteor, making Palutena gasp in horror.

"What's wrong?!" Pit asked.

"I have to pull you all back NOW!" Palutena exclaimed as she quickly yanked everyone backwards by their wings telekinetically.

"Huh? WHOA!" Pit yelled as he and the others watched the falling object crash to the ground, causing a huge explosion that engulfed the entire valley. As this happened, the gang cried out in surprise as they shielded their faces, but they were thankfully far away enough from the explosion's blast radius.

[BGM: Viridi, Goddess of Nature – Kid Icarus Uprising]

When the explosion cleared, the gang unshielded their faces, and their eyes immediately shot wide in horror by the surreal sight in front of them in the distance: the entire town was completely obliterated like it never existed at all, and in its place stood a large pink dome under a more darkened pink sky.

"Wh… What just happened?!" Eight questioned, completely horrified at the untold destruction.

"Ha ha ha ha ha ha!" a young girl's laugher suddenly filled the air. "Nice shot, if I do say so myself! Good riddance, human scum! The world's better off without you!"

The owner of the voice soon revealed herself as a large projection in the sky, and so everyone looked up to see how she looked like. She appeared to resemble an 8-year-old girl with long platinum blonde hair tied up in a ponytail, and she wore a red dress decorated with numerous vines and branches. She was also carrying a scythe-like wooden staff on her right hand.

"That was the goddess of nature, Viridi." Palutena informed them. "Everyone! Go check things out!"

"We're on it!" Pit replied as they all charged ahead towards the dome, where on the way, they were attacked by Nutskis, enemies resembling flying acorns.

"So you're the famous Palutena. I hear you've been busy." Viridi said.

"And you're Viridi, ruler of the earth and all living beings." Palutena replied.

"Hmph! I didn't know I had a fan club."

"WHY HAVE YOU DONE THIS?!" Pit demanded with clear anger in his tone.

"Humans are driven by selfish desire. They think only of themselves. They were killing each other for what? A wish?! A FAKE wish?! They've strayed too far from their intended path. That's where my Reset Bombs come in – to help return Earth to its natural state!"

"But aren't humans living beings too? Yet you think nothing of exterminating them." Palutena pointed out.

Viridi only laughed dismissively in response. "That's rich coming from you! You don't seem to have much of a problem slaughtering Underworld forces."

"But that's totally different!" Pit countered.

"We're defending the earth and heavens from those who seek their destruction." Palutena backed him up. At this point, the gang finally approached the dome, revealing itself to be a tangled ball made out of branches and vines. "Let's take a closer look, everyone." Palutena said and directed them to a hole, taking them into the Reset Bomb Forest. They looked around the place in awe, as there was nothing but a bunch of giant tree branches and vines everywhere inside. It was like a huge and complicated maze, and quite a beautiful sight in an odd way.

"This is a pretty twisted version of nature." Pit said.

"HUMANS massacre Earth's creatures, decimate the trees, and exploit the land." Viridi interjected. "THEY'RE the twisted ones. They're enemies of life itself!" as Viridi was saying that, however, some cross-popping veins started to appear on Trifle's head as his blood began to boil with rage, since that statement reminded him of a certain someone he knew who shared a similar demented attitude as Viridi does saying something similar. "Tell me, Palutena, why do they-"

"You're not giving humans a chance!" Jewel suddenly cut off Viridi. "They're bad, yes, but there are some of them who are nice and totally NOT evil! So why don't you just shut up!?"

*record scratch*

Suddenly, silence. Or, to be more specific… Viridi went silent.

"Uh… Viridi?" Palutena blinked. "Hellooo?"

"…I think you just broke her." Zelda addressed Jewel.

After a few seconds, Viridi finally spoke up, "…Who's that human in gold who just told me to shut up?"

"You mean me?" Jewel asked.

"No, I mean that little angel over there." Viridi sarcastically replied… before literally screeching out loud, "OF COURSE I MEANT YOU, YOU DUMB HUMAN!"

"HEY! Don't you DARE call my girlfriend dumb!" Trifle barked, making Viridi grow silent again until…

"MORE HUMANS?!" she screeched again with a mixture of shock and anger, upon noticing the rest of the group with Pit.

"Not very observant, are you?" Palutena snarked.

"Oh, be quiet! CHILDREN, DESTROY THOSE HUMANS!"

"Children…?" Melia wondered as the Forces of Nature proceeded to go all out on the group, but luckily, they destroyed them with ease.

[Resume "Viridi, Goddess of Nature" BGM]

"Now, as I was saying before I was RUDELY interrupted… Why do they deserve special treatment?!" Viridi questioned.

"Because, of all creatures, humans are closest to the gods." Palutena answered. "Gods cannot intervene in mankind's affairs as you have. You have no right."

"No right?! Humans are trampling over the rights of every other living thing! Should I just sit back and watch as they continue to destroy the earth? No, I must exterminate them all before it's too late!"

Trifle's eye twitched, and it was then that he finally snapped, "Okay, I've had enough! There are some humans who protect the earth and offer life! They're not always cruel! Killing them isn't going to accomplish anything for you, you flower-loving wench!"

Now it was Viridi's turn to have her eye twitch in anger. "WHAT did you just call me, you hairless monkey?!"

This just made Trifle even more irritated. "You take back what you just called me RIGHT NOW, you little MIDGET!"

"Who're you calling a midget, you SHRIMP?!"

"Who're you calling a shrimp, LOLI?!"

As the two were bickering, the rest of the gang sweatdropped. "There's just no reasoning with her, it seems…" Solo remarked.

"I have to admit, she has a valid point." Eight admitted, before furrowing his eyebrows. "But what Jewel said before is right; she's not giving humans a chance, and wiping out humanity is NOT the answer!"

"I agree completely." Palutena agreed. "You've given us no choice but to oppose you, Viridi."

"Oh! That's brave of you, but the Forces of Nature… We're not what you're used to." Viridi replied once she was done bickering with Trifle.

"Heh, we're already experienced enough!" Arusu grinned confidently.

"I wasn't talking to YOU."

Everyone then continued their voyage, moving around the branches while ascending towards the top of the forest. Along the way, they encountered even more strange nature-themed monsters: Lurchthorns, Bladers, Dibble Dops, Parashooters, Pew Pews, and Pips. They all fought their way through this swarm of plant monsters with no troubles at all, and soon neared the top of the forest.

"You know, for one measly angel and a couple of humans… I'm surprised you've survived this long." Viridi said.

"We'll take that as a compliment!" Eleven exclaimed.

"I think it's time you meet one of my finest warriors. Come on out, Cragalanche!"

"Cragawhat…?" Shulk wondered… aaaand then a meteor appeared from above and was coming down straight towards the gang. They gasped as they tried to avoid it, but they were too slow. Luckily, it wasn't a direct hit, but it was enough to send everyone careening down to the ground as they screamed:

"WHOOOOOOOOOOA!"

"Guys!" Palutena cried out.

[BGM End]

[BGM: Reset Bomb Forest – Kid Icarus Uprising]

"Ugggghh…" everyone groaned as they slowly got back up after landing on the ground, right in front of a large tree.

"Well that could've gone better…" Arusu muttered.

"Are you all OK?" Palutena asked.

"We'll live…" Pit winced.

"Now, Pit, you are the captain of Palutena's guard, yes?" Viridi guessed. "I look forward to seeing how you and those little humans fare against Cragalanche."

"You should be more worried about how HE fares against US!" Pit boasted.

"Careful, everyone. I need you all in good shape. Besides you, all I've got are the centurions." Palutena said. "You know, maybe I should open a boot camp to toughen them up."

"Still wouldn't give them muscles like these!" Pit smirked while flexing his muscles to express his point.

As the gang walked around the area while taking out more Nutskis and Pew Pews, Viridi began addressing Palutena, "You know, something's been bugging me ever since that human spoke up."

"And what's that?" Palutena asked.

"Care to explain to me WHY YOU HAVE HUMANS HELPING YOU?!"

"It's kind of a long story…"

"Oh, I highly doubt that!"

"Here you go!" Pit exclaimed, tossing a Grenade at a Urgle to defeat it and making a path open up for the gang as they pressed on. On the next area, they just had to shoot at more Nutskis that came out from the holes on the ground alongside a few Dibble Dops before continuing onwards, but not before noticing a human soldier that somehow survived the cataclysm bound to the wall by vines nearby.

"Good! There are survivors!" Eight chirped, rushing over to the vines and cutting them up with his sword to free the soldier as he instantly collapsed on his knees to the ground in exhaustion. "Whoa, are you okay?" Eight asked in concern, kneeling down to him.

"Y-Yes… Thank you…" the soldier groaned. "Owww… I think I broke my arm…" he clutched his right arm in pain.

"Alright, hold still." Eight calmly placed his hand on the soldier's right arm and casted Heal on it, and in an instant, his arm was no longer broken as he moved it a bit in awe. "That should do it." Eight smiled.

"Wow… How did you do that…?"

"I specialize in various magic spells." Eight chuckled. "Anyways, do you know if there are other survivors?"

"Not sure. I thought I was the only one. What in the world is happening?!"

"Put it simply, you've ticked off Mother Nature and now she's striking back." Pit replied. "Just rest easy now. When you get your strength back, try to find a way out of this forest. You can leave the other survivors to us, and we'll hopefully try to set this right." everyone else nodded along.

"Got it. Be careful out there." the soldier blessed and then the gang left.

"Humans are a stubborn bunch, hanging on like that." Palutena remarked. "So set as many free as you can."

"Uh…stubborn?" Trifle questioned suspiciously with a raised eyebrow, having caught on to the unfortunate comparison with that statement.

"Oh, I didn't mean it like that."

"Maybe what you meant to say was 'insignificant'." Viridi added.

Trifle's blood began to boil with rage once again. "…I swear, if you won't shut up about this… I am going to rip off that ungrateful mouth of yours if we ever meet!" he scowled.

"Oooh, did I strike a nerve? You sure have guts to challenge a fellow goddess like that!"

"I'm being serious! I WILL kick your ass for this! You wanna bet?!"

Viridi only laughed. "I'd love to see you try… if you can survive this long, that is!"

"Then it's a freaking deal!" Trifle exclaimed as the others looked over at him apprehensively, having no idea how this confrontation would turn out and they were already fearing the worst.

Trying to keep his cool, Trifle quickly followed the rest of the gang as they all went down a narrow hall of sorts, where he shot two Nutskis on the way while at the same time, he and the others were taking in their surroundings. From what they could tell, there were vague, skeletal remains of what appears to be buildings around them.

"I can still make out buildings in this forest." Melia noted.

"Then there must have been a town here." Solo concluded, firing a Zapple at a Zert.

"Reset Bombs won't harm wildlife or natural habitats." Viridi explained. "Their only purpose is the obliteration of humankind."

"Oh, is that all?" Arusu rolled his eyes with obvious sarcasm.

"I suppose that accounts for all the life in here." Palutena said.

"In a few years, this place will be completely covered in green." Viridi continued, ignoring Palutena's comment. "Flowers will bloom, trees will grow, and the natural food chain will take over. It will be mankind's winter and the beginning of MY spring!"

"Okay, we know where this is going now that you explained it…" Jewel began. "However… you are forgetting one thing, Viridi…" she furrowed her eyebrows. "You're forgetting that humans are also part of the natural food chain, too!"

Viridi didn't reply back, meaning she either didn't listen to or just ignored Jewel, and so the gang resumed going down the hall and into a large cave while taking out more Forces of Nature troops, those being a Trynamite, two Hugworms and another Urgle. With those enemies taken care of, the gang was about to move on… but then Pit caught a glimpse of something gold out of the corner of his eye as he looked to investigate while the others followed him, and found a shallow remain of a hot spring.

"It looks like there used to be a hot spring here." Palutena stated.

"Wait! There's a little water left!" Pit beamed and ran to the golden water to heal.

"Do you soak in every random puddle that crosses your path?" Viridi questioned. "What's with you and hot springs?"

"What's with you and not minding your own business?"

Because there wasn't a lot of water there, the hot spring didn't fully heal Pit but it was enough to keep him going. He and the group then left the hot spring room and through the other exit to their left. That's where they met a new member of Viridi's troops: a Toxiecap, which was a mushroom-shaped monster with multiple eyes on its cap. It proceeded to instantly attack the gang by shooting poison-filled petals from its head, and one of them managed to hit Pit and poison him, but then Eight quickly casted Squelch on him to ward off the poison before pelting the mushroom monster with several palm shots until it was defeated.

Then, they used a jump pad to get out of the cave and landed on top of some huge tree branches. Above them, several Pew Pews attempted to shoot at them, but Melia used Reflection to create a barrier and reflect their shots back at them. After that, they used the rest of the jump pads to move forward, eventually jumping out of a hole in the ground. Going into the next area up ahead, the gang fought off more of Viridi's troops and finding more trapped human soldiers in the area as they set them free, in which they suddenly disappeared in a flash of light, much to their surprise.

"Huh? Where did they go?" Shulk asked.

"I extracted all the soldiers you found out in the forest to safety." Palutena replied.

"Oh, good thinking! Now the humans should be safe, at least!" Zelda smiled as they resumed going up, taking care of a Lethinium on the way until they came upon a grind rail that Palutena set up for them.

"You can't go any farther, so I've set up a grind rail."

"Thank you kindly!" Pit thanked as they all hopped on it to start grinding.

"It's tangled in there, so I had to wind it around the trees."

"Calling you a snake would be an insult to snakes!" Viridi exclaimed. "But you are crafty. I'll give you that."

After traversing through the forest with the grind rail, the gang eventually landed and used a jump pad to leap up to the upper level. There, they were met with yet another nature monster: it looked like a squat-looking plant creature with the face of an old man.

"Man, look at the face on this guy!" Arusu commented.

"That's a Jitterthug." Viridi said. "Melee attacks won't hurt him at all when he's red. And when he's green, shooting him won't work! What are you going to do NOW?!" she laughed… aaaand then Arusu easily obliterated the Jitterthug in mere seconds with melee attacks while it was green, leading Viridi to jawdrop at this. "Wh-… HOW DID YOU BEAT HIM SO QUICKLY?!" she yelled in disbelief.

Arusu grinned. "Melee him when he's green and shoot him when he's red, duh! So thanks for the advice!"

"But… OH, DARN IT! Of all the things to give you stupid humans the upper hand!"

This led Arusu to frown in anger. "…You actually thought we humans are dumb?! Have you ever seen the size of a human's brain?!"

"Obviously not! Why should I even bother?"

Arusu facepalmed in response. "That explains a lot…"

"Plus, for a goddess… You're not really that smart." Zelda criticized.

"Oh, put a sock in it!" Viridi retorted, and as the gang hopped on another grind rail, Viridi addressed Palutena again, "Okay, another question, Palutena!"

"Yes?" Palutena asked.

"WHY, in the name of Mother Nature, did you give those humans WEAPONS?! AND they basically have each all the nine variants too!"

"They weren't fighting really well with the weapons and skills they already had while they're in this world, so I thought I'd give them an upper hand."

"Even so, you're letting HUMANS use them!"

"What? Is there even a rule about not letting humans use these weapons?"

"AM I THE ONLY ONE SPOUTING SENSE AROUND HERE?!"

"…You're acting like a five-year-old." Solo said sternly.

"A FIVE-YEAR-OLD?! Why I oughta…!" Viridi snarled, and soon the gang landed in front of another vehicle of the gods; this one being an Aether Ring.

"There's an Aether Ring." Palutena informed. "Why don't one of you try it out?"

"I'll do it." Melia offered and got into it. "Huh… This Aether Ring is pretty convenient." she mused, driving it around to get a feel for it.

"Yes, like the Exo Tank and the Cherubot, it's a vehicle of the gods. The handling is a little soft, but they provide protection AND firepower. Is that good design or WHAT!"

Melia first shot at a small group of Nutskis with the Aether Ring before agreeing with Palutena, "Very much." she nodded and then she rode it down a slope up ahead with the rest following behind her, shooting at more monsters that tried to stand on her path.

"But what I don't get is, why is there an Aether Ring in the middle of this place?" Pit wondered.

"I don't know. Ask Viridi." Palutena said.

"I installed it for my army to use." Viridi responded. "…But no one passed Driver's Ed."

"I'm not surprised."

"I can't believe you didn't think of that before." Pit said.

"You and those humans with you were attacking!" Viridi protested. "I was busy! Leave me alone!"

At the other area, Melia took out any remaining enemies before exiting the Aether Ring so that she could use the jump pad with the others to get up onto a ledge and walking along on it… where they all jumped down right into a large hot spring, and Pit immediately gleamed:

"What is this? A hot spring! A HUGE hot spring!"

"It's nature's bathtub." Palutena smiled, and after spending a little while in it, the gang left the spring by using a jump pad to get back up on the upper level and then they went onward. "There's a maze up ahead. Try not to get too lost." Palutena warned.

"And I thought this place was already a huge maze…" Arusu sweatdropped as they began to follow the yellow path, where they took out another Toxiecap and a Hugworm before freeing another human soldier bound to the wall nearby.

"Viridi's army is called the Forces of Nature." Palutena informed. "Many of her troops are made of natural resources, like wood, dirt, and rocks."

"We definitely noticed that." Shulk said, shooting at a group of Nutskis next to him. "But at least they look less disturbing than the Underworld troops." everyone else immediately agreed with him.

"Eco-conscious down to her troops! Everyone's going green these days." Pit said.

"I'm not GOING green; I've always BEEN green. I use cloth shopping bags. I compost my food scraps. And I separate my recycling into 15 types!" Viridi exclaimed proudly.

The gang exchanged awed glances by that. "…Now THIS is a goddess who sweats the details." Eleven remarked.

"I could learn a thing or two from her." Palutena admitted. "Oh, and by the way… I've also heard that the Forces of Nature are quite tasty."

"WHAT?!" Pit asked in surprise.

"Apparently, they're especially delicious when paired with a hard cheese."

"That is entirely untrue! Don't believe her lies!" Viridi shouted.

Eight sweatdropped. "Again with the food jokes, Palutena…?"

"Sorry, I just can't help myself sometimes…" Palutena chuckled nervously, and soon enough, the gang made it out of the massive maze of tree branches and made it into an arena, where a horde of enemies appeared. "I think you're getting close to Cragalanche!" Palutena told the gang.

"We'll just take care of these guys first!" Pit grinned.

A green Jitterthug attempted to shoot at Jewel, but she swiftly avoided the shot while charging towards him to use melee attacks on him, but when she neared the last hits, the Jitterthug suddenly turned red, and so she stepped away from him to shoot at him instead along with Melia shooting from her orbitars until he was defeated. Next, Solo dodged a flying Blader's laser before sniping at it repeatedly, while next to him, Eight burned up a Nutski to a crisp with his palm's burning shot and Eleven channeled his Luminary powers to his club to whack a Zert after avoiding its electric shocks. Meanwhile, the other two Bladers were attacking Zelda and Pit on the ground, but they blocked their attacks and countered back by firing arrows at them, and finally, Trifle, Arusu and Shulk were dealing with a Boom Stomper by attacking it repeatedly with melee blows until Shulk finished it off with a Monado Buster, cracking the rocky monster open in half as a result.

"OK, let's go." Palutena said once all those monsters were dealt with, and so the gang immediately complied and used a jump pad to head all the way down to an even bigger arena.

[BGM End]

Upon landing, all they could see was just a ordinary large rock in the middle of the arena… at first glance. Then, all of a sudden, red glowing eyes appeared on it, and its thick rocky shell burst open like a caterpillar emerging out of its cocoon as a butterfly, revealing a large living boulder creature with stubby legs and large hands.

"Cragalanche, huh? What are you, a monster truck?" Pit teased.

"Pit, huh? What are YOU? A hole in the ground?" Viridi teased back, earning a silent 'Oooohhhhh!' from Jewel but no one seemed to hear her, as they were more focused on taking out Cragalanche.

[BGM: Boss Fight 1 – Kid Icarus Uprising]

Cragalanche said nothing but proceeded to attack the gang by rolling at them, but they quickly jumped out of the way. "Guy doesn't talk much, does he?" Pit wondered.

"He's a rock. Last I checked, they're more the strong, silent type." Viridi said. "Tell you what – I'll do the talking for him. Cragalanche crush!" Cragalanche then leapt into the air to body slam the gang as they were forced to dodge, but before they could even attack back, Cragalanche immediately followed up by turning his left hand into a whip of all things and swiping it at the gang, but they thankfully leapt over it.

"Wow! Nice moves!" Shulk exclaimed.

"Pretty impressive, coming from a rock." Melia threw in, using Summon Earth on herself and her allies to raise their defense against physical attacks.

"Yes, he's been practicing this routine all week." Viridi replied.

Cragalanche next tosses a ball of magma at them, but Pit brought out his Guardian Orbitars to send it back at Cragalanche. A direct hit, but it didn't seem to do a lot of damage to Cragalanche… and when the gang tried to attack him head on, it wasn't doing any good either.

"Attacking Cragalanche straight on won't do much damage." Palutena advised. "So swing around him and try attacking from behind."

Before the gang could take in Palutena's advice, they watched Cragalanche suddenly digging into the ground as they wondered where he went… and then he came back out while uppercutting them all into the air as they yelled in pain and fell to the ground. Although thanks to Melia's Summon Earth, they didn't feel as much pain as they should from that physical attack and so they were able to quickly recover.

"Ha! How do you like THAT?!" Viridi smirked. "I call that one… the Cragalanche sneaky uppercut!"

"Grrr…" Trifle growled. "Alright… No more games!" he declared as Cragalanche then pounded his fists to the ground to create blade-shaped shockwaves at them, but Trifle used his staff as a pole to launch himself up and over the shockwaves as he would land right behind Cragalanche, where he could see a red spot on his posterior. "Hey! It looks like there's a weak spot on his butt!" he exclaimed.

"Arrgh! Oh, he was supposed to get that fixed!" Viridi yelled in frustration.

"Thanks for letting us know, Trifle!" Jewel thanked, before sharpening her claws while grinning, "It's butt-kicking time! Literally!"

"You said it!" Pit chimed in.

"Oh, shut up! You're not clever at all!" Viridi exclaimed.

Trifle ran over and used an uppercut with his arm on Cragalanche's weak spot to not only deal more damage, but to also knock him up in the air and fall on the ground with his weak spot exposed for the rest. They proceeded to open fire at it and severely hurt Cragalanche, until he got back up on his own and attempted to deliver a hard punch to them with his enlarged right hand, but they just ducked underneath the punch as Zelda teleported behind him with Farore's Wind and then shot him with a Silver Arrow… and then Jewel soon joined her while readying her claws, before slashing right through Cragalanche as it proved to be the fatal blow.

[BGM End]

"In your rock face!" Jewel shouted.

"That's your idea of a victory taunt? Please." Viridi scoffed.

Cragalanche went immobile and fell over, as his eyes faded to black before promptly exploding. The gang's celebration would be cut short, however, as Viridi's towering astral projection appeared in the sky above them as they looked up at her with glares on their faces.

"You put on quite a show there, I'll admit." she began, before pointing her staff down towards the group. "Especially you, little persistent humans. You appear to be quite unique than any other humans I've seen... But you all should know that the next Reset Bomb is very nearly complete. Hmm, now where do you think I should drop it this time?" she then let out a sadistic giggle while her projection faded away.

"You can't do that!" Zelda protested.

"First Hades, now Viridi? We need to figure out a plan." Palutena said and extracted everyone out.

To be continued…

Seems like Viridi has already left quite a bad impression on Trifle. Well, according to my friend who owns Trifle, Viridi is considered one of his enemies, so expect a lot of rivalry between these two to happen from this point on in the story. But who exactly is the person Trifle knows who's also very xenophobic as Viridi? You'll find out at the beginning of the next chapter!

Trivia for this chapter:

1. Viridi calling Trifle a "hairless monkey" is a reference to her calling Link the same thing in his Palutena's Guidance conversation in Super Smash Bros for Wii U.
