Tornadoes Seeker: Body-swap

Sirius snickered as he added the mandrake root to the potion. He glanced up at Slughorn, who was on the other side of the Potions classroom, making sure the professor wasn't looking in his direction.

Remus grinned and asked, "Are you done, Pads?"

"Just about. Hold on…" Sirius whispered and tossed some nettle into the potion.

The Marauders had decided to prank Severus by switching his potion with their harmless little concoction. The potion they were making would cause hair to erupt all over Severus' body. It was a harmless prank, after all.

James was in charge of the distraction; once Sirius was done with his part of the plan, James hexed the cauldron beside Severus'. The potion contents spilt on Lucas Gallagher, who shot to his feet and tripped over the hem of his robes.

"Oh, shit!" Lucas screamed as he toppled over and grabbed Severus' stool to steady himself.

Severus roared in surprise and tumbled off his stool and onto the ground, just avoiding the potion puddle. The class burst into peals of laughter at the sight, while Peter attempted to sneak towards Severus' cauldron with the potion.

Unfortunately, Professor Slughorn saw him sneaking away and caught him by the back of his collar. Peter squeaked out in terror and threw the vial of potion away.

James' eyes widened with horror when he saw the vial flying towards Lily's cauldron. As he lunged towards the cauldron, he screamed, "No!"

But it was too late. The vial fell into Lily's cauldron with a loud plop. Instantly, the cauldron exploded and showered its contents upon Lily and James. They covered their faces with their arms, but it was already too late.

James regrettably woke up after a wonderful dream; he'd dreamt of Lily with her arms wrapped around his waist, and she was gazing up at him with eyes full of love and desire.

He sighed happily as he stretched his arms over his head and smacked his lips lazily. What a wonderful dream! He wanted to make it a reality soon.

He suddenly realized he wasn't in the common room anymore, but he wasn't worried. It was probably his friends' testing a prank on him, but then he realized he wasn't wearing any glasses—but he could still see clearly.

He rubbed his jaw absentmindedly and was stunned to feel smooth skin instead of his scruffy beard. What was going on?

He looked down at his hands and gasped. They were Lily's hands; he'd spent a lot of time gazing at them and wondering what they would feel like wrapped around his—

He quickly shook the vulgar thoughts away and glanced at the bedside table. A Muggle picture of Lily with her parents stood on the table, along with a few knick-knacks.

What was he doing in Lily's room? Why did he have Lily's hands?

He pulled the blanket off of him and his breath hitched in his throat. His eyes landed on his chest, and he fell back onto the pillow, unconscious.

A few minutes later, he woke up and sprinted over to the large ornate mirror on the wall. He took one look at his reflection and screamed with excitement.

He was in Lily's body! Somehow he'd swapped bodies with her!

From the common room, Lily's masculine voice reverberated through the Gryffindor tower. "I'm going to kill you, James Potter!"

James loved being inside Lily's body. Truthfully, he would have loved to be inside her while in his own body, but he took opportunities when he saw them.

And being inside Lily's body was a wonderful opportunity for him.

James had only informed Marlene McKinnon and Dorcas Meadowes about the situation, and the two girls had happily agreed to cover for him if he acted unlike Lily.

James had a wonderful time dressing up in Lily's uniform and pretending to be her. He loved flailing his arms around in class and calling out the right answer. Surprisingly, no one suspected a thing.

Every time Lily (in James' body) stared at him with a scathing glare, he would wiggle his fingers at her to remind her James wasn't supposed to be glaring at Lily. He always kept his fingers crossed as he hoped for a romantic proposal from Lily. James had to keep up appearances, right?

Wrong.

Lily refused to propose to him, and James knew why: he would have accepted Lily's proposal in a heartbeat.

So, he did what he did best. Compromise.

"James Potter is the most handsome man I've ever laid eyes on," James cooed into the Muggle recorder, lying on Lily's bed. "He's so handsome he even makes Aphrodite jealous of his beauty."

Just then, Marlene walked into the room. She took one look at him and asked, "What are you doing?"

"Shh," James whispered, batting his hand at her like he would a fly. He lowered his voice and purred, "James has the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen! He's so handsome! I'm in love with him and his perfect muscles! And that arse of his is so delicious… Merlin, I just want to squeeze it so bad!"

Marlene burst into guffaws, and James grinned as he sat upright. He continued speaking, "I know unicorns exist, but James is the next best thing. He's so hot. I should date him. He looks great in his Quidditch gear. But at the same time, he's just as adorable as a baby hedgehog or a baby penguin. I'm so glad I haven't killed him yet."

"Please, stop," Marlene choked out, cackling as the tears streamed down her face.

James smirked and went on, "He's pretty much the best thing ever. He's a gift to all mankind, but I'd like him all to myself. I love him. He loves me. We should be together by now, but no… I have this strange habit of saying 'no' instead of 'yes' before I can even think of it. Maybe my mum didn't teach me to look before I leap."

"I'm going to die," Marlene sobbed, bent over double, her hands on her stomach. "Please, stop…"

James turned the recorder off with a soft click and turned to Marlene. "So, what did you think? Was Lily believable?"

"You better delete those recordings, James," Marlene said through her tears. She grinned at him as she sat down on her bed. "If Lily ever finds out you were impersonating her, she's going to flip."

"Hold on, just one more recording," James said, turning on the recorder again. In a soft, dulcet tone, he purred, "Severus, your farts smell worse than the liquid that seeps through the trash that has been left to fester in the heat. Okay, bye!"

Marlene's howls reverberated through the entire Gryffindor tower. Meanwhile, Lily gritted her teeth at the base of the Gryffindor stairs, frankly cursing the sexist rules that didn't allow her to climb up to her room and strangle James for whatever he was up to now.
