Second update today 'cause I'm feeling it and the reviews made me super happy. To the one review with the suggestions- I have already finished writing and I won't be altering it- but I hope you like how I have done things- though I will admit I do keep thinking of what I would have done if I'd gone a different way. But it's too late for that since I'm part way through the Lost Hero, and I am happy with what I have done, it's just imagining exploring different ideas really.
Anyway, enjoy this chapter guys. Also Percy is very smart despite what some people think- also, she's a total badass and I hope you're looking forward to the next chapter and please do review.

There was a long beat of silence as everyone took in what had just happened, and then Chiron spoke again. "Now that that is dealt with- I believe it is time- Percy, you said that the Oracle gave you the prophecy?"

"Yes." Percy nodded, crossing her arms over her chest, and she could see Annabeth closing her eyes and looking away.

"What did it say?" Luke's voice was nervous, hesitant and Percy hated this. She hated the fact that she knew it would hurt him.

"A half-blood of the eldest gods, shall reach sixteen against all odds, and see the world in endless sleep, the heroes soul cursed blade shall reap, a single choice shall end their days, Olympus to preserve or raze." Percy recited it calmly- she'd had her momentary breakdown. She could handle this now. She had no other choice, she was the child of prophecy, it was her responsibility so she'd handle it the best way she possibly could.

There was a long uncomfortable silence before Thalia spoke up quietly, "I'm guessing it's raze as in destroy right?" she looked extremely pale- and Percy couldn't blame her.

For a short time they'd thought it might be about Thalia, she was probably imagining how she'd feel in Percy's place.

"No-" Luke's voice caught in his throat and his face had gone incredibly pale, there was a terrified look on his place, "It- no but that-"

"Prophecies are complicated." Annabeth's voice was almost desperate as she said that, "They don't always mean what we think they do. It might not mean Percy will actually die." and Percy knew deep down inside that Annabeth was trying to convince herself of that- gods Annabeth had been living in fear of losing Percy- and she had known for a while Percy was sure of that.

"Maybe we can stop it," Jake Mason offered. "The hero's soul, cursed blade shall reap. Maybe we could find this cursed blade and destroy it. Sounds like Kronos's scythe, right?"

"Good luck destroying that." Percy snorted and shook her head, "We can't- I appreciate the fact that you guys are freaking out right now." and they were, everyone was looking at her like she was already dying, "And I love all of you for caring so much about me. But now isn't the time. I don't plan on kicking the bucket yet- prophecies are rarely what they seem." she saw that Chiron was nodding slightly- and he knew as well as she did that it would destroy morale if it got around that Percy was doomed to die.

"Percy-" Luke was shaking his head and Percy rolled her eyes.

"Oh come on Luke." she gave him a look, "Look at Annabeth's prophecy last year- it made it sound like Annabeth would die but I know how prophecies are so I obsess over it. I'm gonna be fine Luke. I promise."

"I-" Luke hesitated before nodding, "Fine. Fine I can cope with that. I- you're right. You have to be." he crossed his arms over his chest. "What now then?"

"We need to figure out what Kronos will do next." Annabeth spoke up quietly, her eyes finally meeting Percy's- and Percy knew her girlfriend didn't believe that she was going to survive this any more than Percy did, no matter how hard she was trying to convince herself that everything would be okay somehow- that the fates couldn't be that cruel.

"We already have some idea." Chiron admitted, "His next assault is already on the way."

"What is it?" Percy could see the worried look on the centaur's face, whatever was coming was clearly something big.

"Percy," Chiron said, "we didn't want to tell you until you returned to camp. You needed a break with your family-"

"Yeah I haven't had that much of a break I've been up to some stuff of my own lately." Percy crossed her arms over her chest, "But I guess I get your point. Still, I need to know now."

Chiron picked up a bronze goblet from the snack table. He tossed water onto the hot plate where they usually melted nacho cheese. Steam billowed up, making a rainbow in the fluorescent lights. Chiron fished a golden drachma out of his pouch, tossed it through the mist, and muttered, "O Iris, Goddess of the Rainbow, show us the threat."
The mist shimmered. Percy saw the familiar image of a smoldering volcano—Mount St. Helens. As she watched, the side of the mountain exploded. Fire, ash, and lava rolled out. A newscaster's voice was saying "—even larger than last year's eruption, and geologists warn that the mountain may not be done." and Percy felt her heart sinking as she watched- because she knew what was happening. She and Leo had started this back during their quest to the Labyrinth.

As she watched the mountain tore itself apart, collapsing inward, and an enormous form rose out of the smoke and lava like it was emerging from a manhole. Percy hoped the Mist would keep the humans from seeing it clearly, because what she saw would've caused panic and riots across the entire United States.

The giant was bigger than anything she'd ever encountered. Even her demigod eyes couldn't make out its exact form through the ash and fire, but it was vaguely humanoid and so huge it could've used the Chrysler Building as a baseball bat. The mountain shook with a horrible rumbling, as if the monster were laughing.

Percy swallowed hard, her face pale. "That would be Typhon."

Chiron nodded, "The most horrible monster of all, the biggest single threat the gods ever faced. He has been freed from under the mountain at last. But this scene is from two days ago. Here is what is happening today."

Chiron waved his hand and the image changed. Percy saw a bank of storm clouds rolling across the Midwest plains. Lightning flickered. Lines of tornadoes destroyed everything in their path—ripping up houses and trailers, tossing cars around like Matchbox toys.

"Monumental floods," an announcer was saying. "Five states declared disaster areas as the freak storm system sweeps east, continuing its path of destruction." The cameras zoomed in on a column of storm bearing down on some Midwest city. She couldn't tell which one. Inside the storm Percy could see the giant—just small glimpses of his true form: a smoky arm, a dark clawed hand the size of a city block. His angry roar rolled across the plains like a nuclear blast. Other smaller forms darted through the clouds, circling the monster. She saw flashes of light, and Percy realized the giant was trying to swat them. She squinted and thought she saw a golden chariot flying into the blackness. Then some kind of huge bird—a monstrous owl—dived in to attack the giant and Percy realized exactly what she was seeing.

"That- those are the gods they're trying to fight him."

"Yes, Percy," Chiron said. "They have been fighting him for days now, trying to slow him down. But Typhon is marching forward—toward New York. Toward Olympus."

"How long?" Percy remembered Kronos, remembered him telling her how he couldn't wait to see the fear in her eyes when she realized what he had planned.

"Unless the gods can stop him? Perhaps five days. Most of the Olympians are there . . . except your father, who has a war of his own to fight."

"But then who's guarding Olympus?"

"What does it matter?" that came from Clarisse, "If that thing gets to Olympus-"

"It matters." Percy wasn't even sure why until she'd said it.

Sure, an attack by Typhon was terrifying, but Kronos' plans were never straightforward- and she remembered his words to her.

"Why?" That came from Sebastian.

"Because." Percy forced down a wave of terror. "Kronos won't have his entire army on one ship- we've taken out a big chunk of his army but there's no way that was his whole army. And Kronos- he'll want to make it personal. He'll be attacking Olympus himself. I don't know when but he will. And the gods won't be able to defend it themselves because of Typhon."

"If that is the case-" Chiron looked worried, "We likely have a few days to prepare at least. I think that is enough for tonight."

He waved a hand and the stormy battle of Typhon and the gods disappeared.

"Good." Percy stood up, "I have a list of things I need to do today." she turned her head to look at Silena, "Silena, I know you probably want to get back to Beckendorf but is there any chance that if Drew's here you can go and get her first and ask her to meet me in the arena?"

"I- of course I can." Silena nodded, giving a weak smile, "But why the arena?"

"Because." Percy's gaze swung to Clarisse and Michael, "Clarisse and Michel will be meeting me there in fifteen minutes-"

"What?" Michael frowned, "Why-"

"And bring your best weapons." Percy's voice was cool, "You're going to need them. If either of you don't come you forfeit any right to the chariot"

With that Percy was whirling around and striding out of the room to the sound of Michel's gasp of- "But she can't do that can she?"

Though she did smile slightly when she heard Chiron's response.

"As of this moment I do believe she can."

And when, fifteen minutes later, Clarisse and Michael arrived at the arena there were several demigods following them- Annabeth, Luke and Thalia included- and Nico and Leo were close behind- clearly news about what had happened had come out because Will and Kayla showed up too- as did a few of Clarisse's siblings.

And there was Chiron, who had a curious look on his face as Clarisse and Michael approached Percy in the centre of the arena.

"So." Clarisse raised an eyebrow, "What's your big plan then Jackson? If you're about to tell us to fight for it then I'll tell you now Chiron's already said no to that, probably because-"

"Shut up." Percy gave Clarisse a look. "You're both going to listen to me." she let out a breath, running her fingers through her hair. "Clarisse, the Apollo cabin has a right to the chariot-"

"See-"

"But the Ares Cabin has a right to some basic fucking respect- how many times have you guys talked shit about them?" Percy cut Michael of, "How many times have all of us treated them like they're brainless idiots who don't have feelings-"

"But-"

"Yeah the Ares cabin can be bullies but that's not all they are." Percy let out a breath. "And I am not letting this keep going okay? I'm not having this bullshit alienating one of the strongest cabins in camp- so if you can't just fucking share like, you know, decent people then here's the deal. Whoever draws blood first wins-"

"Clarisse already told you that Chiron-"

"Oh you don't understand. You're not fighting each other." Percy pulled Riptide from her pocket and twirled it between her fingers before she uncapped the pen. "You're fighting me. Whichever one of you draws blood against me first gets the chariot."

"Oh come on-" Clarisse let out an incredulous laugh, "You're good but you're not that good-"

"I don't need to be." Percy pointed out, "You two are competing against each other to see who can draw blood first. So. Does that sound like a deal?"

"I-" Clarisse hesitated before nodding, "Fine by me."

"I- fine." Michael huffed the word, "Fine, us against you." he pulled a knife out of a sheath strapped to his thigh- he preferred using his bow and arrow but he wasn't bad with a knife if he had to fight up close and personal.

As he did that Clarisse pulled Maimer from over her shoulder, a look of determination on her face. "I'm not gonna go easy on you just because you're my friend Jackson."

"I'd be disappointed you did." Percy grinned, "We start on three. One-" she took a small step back, "Two." and another and then- "Three!"
