Hey guys! I hope you all enjoy this chapter, which includes some foreshadowing and I hope you guys like what I'm doing, please do review, and I am sorry about the delay. Hopefully things will be back to normal for now.

Percy sometimes hated her dreams. She really did, they sucked.

But very occasionally she was very very grateful for them- and this was definitely one of those times. Rachel was in her bedroom- which was even more chaotic than it usually was- and Percy felt her mouth drop open in shock when she saw the painting on Rachel's bedroom wall- Percy hadn't seen the woman in years of course- but she'd met her a few times when she'd been younger. It was Luke's mom, but she was almost unrecognisable- she was stood straight, her hands reaching out for someone and her eyes- her eyes were an almost glowing green- unnaturally so.

And she looked- it was hard to put her finger on it but to Percy she looked stable somehow- her hair looked like it had actually been brushed and her clothes looked like they were the right size, like they'd been cleaned. Percy had been terrified of the woman the few times they'd met but the woman in this picture wasn't all that scary.

And next to the painting was another one- and Percy found herself staring at it- she recognised the figures in it- younger versions of Nico and Bianca sat on the floor in front of a woman who was smiling warmly at them, a book in her hands- they stared up at her like she'd hung the moon and stars.

Then Percy's gaze swung to the third painting on the wall- and Percy felt her breath catch in her throat- Rachel was trying to paint over it, tears pouring down her cheeks- her hair was a mess and she looked like she'd barely slept at all- she was frantic, blood red paint already covering half of the painted Alabaster's face.

It was her and Alabaster. And Percy's mind rebelled and she stumbled backwards as Rachel slapped more paint onto the image with a shriek of fury and Percy looked away form it- she couldn't blame Rachel for her rage. She couldn't even let herself process the image- why would Rachel even paint something like that?

She pushed away that thought when someone started pounding on the door. "RACHEL" And that was Rachel's dads voice Percy realised, "What in the world are you doing?"

And Rachel let out a snarl, tossing the paintbrush she was using at the wall before spinning around and rushing to her bed, throwing herself onto it with a crash before she called out, "Come in!"

The door opened and Rachel's dad walked in, scowling and blinking from the light. He had rust-colored hair a little darker than Rachel's. It was smushed on one side like he'd lost a fight with his pillow.

"What is going on?" he demanded. "It's three in the morning."

"Couldn't sleep," Rachel said, her voice tight.

"Mr. Dare put his hands behind his back. He paced the room with a stern expression.

"Are you still having bad dreams?" he asked. "Headaches?"

"I shouldn't have told you that." Rachel lifted her head and glared at him, "I'm fine."

His gaze shifted to the paintings and he raised an eyebrow, ""I'm your father," he said. "I'm worried about you."

"Worried about the family's reputation," Rachel muttered.

Her father didn't react—maybe because he'd heard that comment before, or maybe because it was true. "We could call Dr. Arkwright," he suggested. "He helped you get through the death of your hamster."

"I was six then," she said. "And no, Dad, I don't need a therapist. I just . . ." She shook her head helplessly.

Her father stopped in front of the windows. He gazed at the New York skyline as if he owned it—which wasn't true. He only owned part of it.

"It will be good for you to get away," he decided. "You've had some unhealthy influences."

"I'm not going to Clarion Ladies Academy," Rachel said. "And my friends are none of your business."

Mr. Dare smiled, but it wasn't a warm smile. It was more like, Someday you'll realize how silly you sound.

"Try to get some sleep," he urged. "We'll be at the beach by tomorrow night. It will be fun."

"Fun," Rachel repeated. "Lots of fun."

Her father exited the room. He left the door open behind him and Rachel focused her gaze on that horrible painting- the one Percy couldn't stand even looking at.

Then she was sitting around and swinging her legs off the bed and moving to the painting, staring at it for a long minute, a heart broken look on her face as she whispered,

"You'd never do that." then she was turning her head, her gaze focusing on the painting of May, her brows furrowing as she stared at it. Then she nodded to herself and she whirled around, grabbing a backpack from under her bed and grabbing out clothes, shoving them roughly into the bag.

"I need answers. I need to know what's happening." her voice was a mutter as she grabbed her jacket from where it was tossed onto her bed before she snatched up her phone. "I need to understand."

And Percy felt her heart racing as Rachel moved to her bedroom door and slipped out of it.

And her own gaze focused on the painting of Luke's mom.

And she knew where Rachel was going to go.

Not that she was sure how Rachel was going to get there- it was the middle of the night- but then again it was Rachel, she'd find a way.

And when Percy woke up the next morning she was alone in bed- but she noticed that the pillows had been returned to their rightful places on the beds, that probably meant Annabeth had gotten up early and not wanted to wake Percy.

The daughter of Poseidon ran her fingers through her hair as she stood up, mind racing. She needed to try and talk to Rachel but she hadn't charged her phone since before the Princess Andromeda thing. That probably meant that it was dead- and sure enough when she checked the phone was indeed dead. Percy huffed to herself, eyes narrowing.

That meant she'd need to borrow someone else's phone then. And she'd need to talk to Luke- they were going to have to try and find out what was going on with Rachel and
why it involved May- and if Percy wanted to see her girlfriend to ask about the third painting- well that was her business.

It didn't take her long to get dressed and soon Percy was heading out of her Cabin- and she bit her lip when she spotted Annabeth- she was stood outside of the Zeus Cabin, a clipboard in hand- and of course she was- it was her turn to do inspections- Percy couldn't believe she'd forgotten- usually she helped the other girl do it but- well in her defence it had been a stressful few days.

Percy took a deep breath, jogging towards Annabeth- and she spotted Thalia leaning against the door frame, a smug look on her face- and her hair was kind of messed up- not that her hair was ever neat but- Annabeth's face was a bright shade of red, which was weird.

Still Percy came to a halt next to her, "Hey! Hey guys, I hate to interrupt but I need a favor Wise girl-"

"Oh please interrupt." Thalia said quickly, "Please dear gods interrupt."

"I-" Annabeth let out a huff, giving Thalia a dirty look before she focused on Percy. "What is it Seaweed brain?"

"I need to steal your phone for a minute- I need to call Rachel."

"Why?" Annabeth's brows furrowed, "Is she okay?" even as she asked she was pulling her phone out of her pocket and tossing it to Percy, who caught it easily, opening it up and clicking on Rachel's number before pressing the phone to her ear as it started to ring.

"Honestly I- I had one of my dreams- something's up with her. I think- it's something to do with everything else I just don't know what?"

"Is she safe?" Annabeth's expression turned worried, "What's going on?"

"She painted Luke's mom on her bedroom walls-"

"My mom?" that came from inside of Thalia's cabin and a moment later Luke was peering out from behind Thalia and Percy's eyes widened, flicking between her brother and his girlfriend, who looked like she was trying not to laugh as Luke combed his fingers through his messy hair. His cheeks were slightly flushed- and ah- that explained Annabeth's blush and the look on Thalia's face.

"Do you realize how many rules you're breaking-"

"I know for a fact Annie snuck into your cabin last night-"

"Yeah but we didn't have-"

"And I'm shutting you up right there." Luke reached out, clapping a hand over Percy's mouth. "You said something about my mom?"

"Yeah. I think Rachel's been having dreams or something about her." the phone was still ringing- no sign of Rachel answering. That just made Percy feel incredibly nervous. "I had a dream last night- I think she snuck off at like three in the morning to try and go see her- fuck she isn't answering." Percy clicked off the call, tossing the phone back to

Annabeth, "I don't know what we're supposed to do-"

"She doesn't even know where my mom lives." Luke frowned, "She can't have seen a picture or anything- are you sure-"

"It was your mom Luke,"

"What do we do?" Annabeth's voice was tight, "If there's something up with Rachel- I don't-"

"We'll go." Luke said firmly, "Percy and I- you're needed her Annabeth- as much as I wish you could come with us-"

"But-" Annabeth hesitated before nodding, "When you find her tell her I love her okay?"

"We will." Percy straightened up, a determined look on her face, "But how do we get there Luke?"

"I would say Pegasi but if something big is going on we'll need to get both of them somewhere safe."

"Leo." Thalia suggested, "That dragon of his- he's ridden it on a few quests, it'd be able to get all of you there and back. And I saw him slipping off to tinker with it in the middle of the night so he's probably out there right now."

"That's a good idea, can you tell Chiron what's up?"

"I will." Thalia offered, giving Luke a quick kiss on the cheek, "Annabeth has to finish Cabin inspections."

"Right." Annabeth scowled, "Just what I want to be doing when my girlfriends are in trouble-"

"Rachel is probably fine." Percy said quickly, "Try not to worry too much okay Wise girl?" she grabbed Annabeth's hand, yanking her forward so she could press their lips
together, "And I will be just fine too."

"You better. " Annabeth's voice was serious. "Because if you died I'd just come to the Underworld to drag you back up here-"

"Are you kidding? Uncle Hades would kick me out within a week."

"He would." Annabeth let out a soft laugh, shaking her head before she turned her gaze to Luke, "Look after her would you?"

"Of course." Luke slung his arm over Percy's shoulder, yanking her into his side, "I always do don't I?"

"And look after Rachel too- if anything she's probably gonna be worse than Percy-"

"Oh I dunno, Rachel is a badass bitch when she wants to be-"

"She's got an obsession with throwing knives that honestly terrifies me. She should have never been allowed to meet Clarisse-"

"Are you kidding me?" Thalia laughed, "Their friendship is epic- the last time Connor and Travis tried to prank Clarisse Rachel nearly cut Travis' ear off with one of her knives-"

"Terrifying." Percy and Annabeth said in unison, giving each other little grins.

"Yeah, to be fair she scares me too." Luke snorted, "She's a mortal who gets herself involved with our bullshit and I am completely convinced that she would challenge literally any god for you two- she's a force to be reckoned with."

"She really is." Percy grinned brightly, "And she's all ours-"

"Show off." Thalia laughed, "Now go away, both of you, I'll go tell Chiron what's up."

With that Thalia jogged off quickly and Percy let out a breath, focusing on Luke, "Shall we go then?"

"Sounds like a good plan. We should be back later today if all goes well-"

"We'll update you." Percy told Annabeth quickly, pressing her lips to the other girls. "I promise. Even if I have to borrow Rachel's phone."

"Good." Annabeth pulled back, "I should finish the cabin inspections. I'll see you guys soon."

And with that she turned and rushed off, and Percy turned to Luke, "So. Where does our little brother keep his pet dragon?"
