Behind Julien, stood half a dozen armed men, all dressed in red. The Ripper's official uniforms.

"We're going," Molly glared, but her confidence was struck down as ball bearings were flying right at her,
quickly wrapping themselves around her wrists and ankles. She fell to the floor, trying to morph into an elephant,
but got shocked by blue electricity in return for her efforts.

"It's amazing what the black market is making against mutants these days," Julien smirked.

"I'd say let us go on our way, but I know that's not happening," Remy quickly took out a card and charged it, throwing it directly at Julien.
The boy went tumbling, head over heels.

"You lousy...take them!" Julien glared with white, hot intensity. The deepest kind of hatred.

One Ripper quickly grabbed Remy, handcuffing his wrists behind his back with power inhibitor handcuffs. Another hauled Molly to her feet and the two were led to a black unmarked SUV outside the warehouse.

"Are the ankle restraints _really_ necessary?" Molly griped.

"Quiet!" Julien barked.

"Yell at her again, and I'll blow you out of this car," Remy had the darkest of looks on his face.

Julien didn't answer. Instead, the car was started up and drove to the Rippers hideout, which was still a decrepit old mansion in the middle of the Louisiana bayou. The men put them in a room, just sitting them on the floor, Molly looking more than annoyed.

"Knew I should've had more than an orange for breakfast," Molly grumbled.

"We'll get you something when we get out of this, don't worry," Remy said, watching the Rippers leave the room.

"Get out of this? Come on, Remy. The team thinks we're living it up in your mom's mansion and everything is hoity-toity. Only your mom knows we went out to some warehouse somewhere, and she's great, but she's not going to swoop in and save us. Whatever Julien and his boys are planning, it won't be pretty and we _won't_ survive it." Molly sucked in a breath, trying to keep it together.

"Hey, where's my girl's fighting spirit? We're not going to let a bunch of losers with tasers and baseball bats kill us. Powers or not, we've never gone down without a fight," Remy steeled his resolve. He braced himself, bringing his arms back over his head and nearly hurting his shoulders in the process. Natural agility really came in handy sometimes. Remy examined the power inhibitor cuffs. They were upgraded, with no hole for any kind of pic to unlock it. Remy wasn't sure how they unlocked, but it probably wasn't mechanical.

Not much time went by and Julien came back into the room. The look on his face wasn't just cruel, it was sadistic and unfeeling. "I'm going to enjoy this..."
Julien got a few blows in-hard ones-but Remy kicked his legs out from under him a moment. Taking advantage of the few precious seconds, Remy ran for the closest wall. Trying to break the cuffs under natural force. Not even a crack happened.

"They're made of high caliber materials. Nearly unbreakable, unlike you," Julien said. He delivered another hard hit that knocked Remy off of his feet.

"Stop!" Molly shrieked, "You want a challenge, take me. Get the cuffs off me, we'll go at it.
I win, you leave us alone. You win...Remy leaves and you can keep me. Do what you want with me."

"Molly, don't do this," Remy pleaded. Either it was a double-blind or she really was desperate.
Either way, it was a horrible plan.

Julien considered it for some tense moments.

"It's a tempting offer, but I like this arrangement better," Julien pulled some small black daggers out of his coat, pulling his arm back.

SWFFT!

Shuriken sliced across Julien's arm like they were going through butter, sticking themselves into the far wall at an angle.
"AAHH!" Julien yelped, throwing up his arm and letting the daggers drop to the floor.

"You hurt my son again, you're going to be missing something you'll need later on," Violet sneered. She appeared in the doorway with Remy's guild friends and Henry. Naturally, she had a crossbow trained on Julien. Harry had taser gloves, and the guild members had everything from black market Stark tech to shurikens to their own wits.

"You got past my guards!" Julien yelped, pressing a button on his watch, "Security, get in here!"

"Your guards are stupider than you," Alexi smirked, readying her tiny star-shaped blades.

A rush of feet and it was a melee that Molly and Remy for once, couldn't take part in. They watched, helpless as the small troupe took on several men.

Violet was an ace with the crossbow. She didn't kill anyone, but between maiming them in the knees and...other...sensitive areas, and them getting tased, those boys didn't stay standing even ten seconds after they'd arrived.

Monty had the height and weight advantage, knocking skulls together and tossing men around like toys.

Tim was the opposite, wire-y, small, and able to make the morons knock into each other before they knew what was going on. Likewise, being able to toss around very small, thin needles deep into the skin helped. Men were falling left, right, and center around him. One just gave up and ran off.

Jack and Joey just used their fists like it was a bar fight, but skill and experience were enough.
Jack was impressive for someone who had lost most of the sight in his right eye, and Joey was faster than he looked, dodging and weaving like a trained boxer.

In less than fifteen minutes, Julien was sitting there with the cuffs on, while Remy and Molly were free again. Remy was a little surprised as Violet hugged him tightly, but gratefully returned the hug. "How'd you find us?" Remy asked.

"Like you're hard to find," Alexis ruffled his hair, "We just followed the sound of tenacity and it led us right to you."

"I called them," Violet said, "I knew the police would take ages and figured you still had some friends in the guild. They provided the weapons and got us here in time. Before the worst happened."

"But, for good measure, we did call the police," Jack said.

"YOU DID WHAT?!" Remy and Molly yelped.

"No, no, bad idea," Remy waved his hands in an 'X' motion, "They show up, they're gonna find the evidence Henry was working with Julien this whole time."

"It's alright, son." Henry smiled sadly, "I'm turning myself in. It's the right thing to do."

"You're gonna...?" Remy let it hang.

"Please, don't," Molly frowned, "Remy just got you back. We've got connections, lawyers. You were a patsy, you didn't know."

"I was an active accomplice," Henry said, "It can't be more than five...six years in prison. Maybe I'll get out early for good behavior." He smiled sadly.

Pain and heavy guilt struck at Remy's heart. History seemed to be repeating itself. Another criminal dad, even under the most perfect of circumstances.
"But London and the boys? What about them?"

"They can handle themselves. We've talked it out. Russo's old enough to be the man of the house for a while, and I know you'll visit," Henry said.

Silence.

"You'll stay in touch?" Remy asked.

"Every week," Henry said.

One final hug.

Molly squeezed Remy's hand as they all walked out together.
