Will paced frantically a few meters away from the Hades Cabin. Why was Piper still in there? What the hell are they saying? All he knew was that Piper better have had a reason for what she did and it had better be good.

Finally, finally, Piper walked out of the Hades Cabin. He debated interrogating her, but decided against it. Opting to, instead, go talk to Nico.

He knocked lightly on the door, and got a muffled "What?" in response.

"Can I come in?" There was no response, but the door opened shortly after.

The look on Nico's face made Will want to hug him so badly, but he doubted Nico would appreciate that. "How're you doing?" He plopped himself down on Nico's bed, and patted the space next to him, hoping Nico would sit.

Nico looked hesitant at first, but sat beside Will. "I'm fine. You really didn't need to check up on me."

"And what if I just want to spend time with you?"

"Is that all?"

"Yes, well… no, I came to check on you. But that doesn't mean I don't want to spend time with you." Gods Will. Stop. Just stop. You're making it worse. Luckily for him, Nico gave him an amused smile in response.

"Okay."

"Okay."

"Okay." Nico had a glimmer in his eye at that one.

Did he just- nope. Impossible. But there was only one way to find out for sure. "Okay."

Nico looked surprised, "The Fault in Our Stars?"

Oh. My. Gods. Will was in love. He kind of wanted to ask Nico about what happened with Piper, but it seemed like Nico would rather not think about it. Besides, this was a shocking revelation and it had to be further explored. "You too?"

"Um, yeah!" Will burst out laughing and Nico blushed, "What?"

"Death Boy reads teenage rom-com novels?"

Nico's face got even redder and Nico buried his face in Will's shirt. Holy shit. "Shut up Solace." To Will's great dismay, Nico unburied his face. "You read it too!"

Will nodded with mock solemnity, "I am an unashamed reader of teenage romantic comedies and lover of all things nerdy."

"Really, so you'd say you're a fan of the genre?" Nico had a challenging spark in his eyes.

Will met his gaze "Absolutely. A bigger one than you are, I bet."

"Five feet apart."

"That book broke me for a week. Simon vs the Homosapiens Agenda?"

"And that book was the reason I started listening to Elliott Smith."

"Really? I've got to admit, even after reading it I've never listened to any of his songs."
"No. Way. You have been missing out. You've at least listened to MCR, right?"

"Well, I've heard of them?" Was he supposed to have listened to them? Shit, he should've just said yes. But it wasn't his fault he wasn't caught up on pop culture. He much preferred indie anyways.

Nico gave him an incredulous look. "Gods, why is there no technology allowed at camp? You need to hear at least one of them. How have you been living?"

"How many of their songs do you know?"

"I dunno… all of them, probably."

"Then sing one!"

"No fucking way. I cannot sing for the life of me." Will gave Nico puppy dog eyes, and, surprisingly, he broke. "I'll try, I suppose."

"Try not. Do or do not. There is no try."

"Huh?"

You've got to be kidding me. "The wise words of Yoda, of course."

This time it was Nico's turn to laugh. "Really Will? Star Wars? I'd consider myself a nerd but I haven't gone that far in."

"You played a fantasy card game. That's about as far in as you can go. I can't believe you haven't seen it."

"That was like 4 years ago! How do you even know about that?"

"How could I not? You were obsessed when you came to camp!" I mean, it wasn't like Nico was subtle. Only after he said it did he realize that not everybody noticed Nico when he came to camp. And Will supposed Nico wasn't exactly the most extroverted so he kind of fell in between the cracks. Did noticing make him creepy? Shit, he hoped not.

Luckily, Nico was too busy blushing to notice. "Was I really that obvious?"

"Well, at least to me it was. And stop changing the subject! I want to hear you sing!"

Nico rolled his eyes, "Alright, alright! Which song?"

"Any."

"Okay," Nico thought about it for a moment, "I'll sing one of their most popular ones then, it's called Black Parade. It's also one of my favorites."

"Go for it!" Will looked at Nico with eager anticipation.

Nico took a deep breath and began singing quietly, "When I was a young boy my father took me into the city to see a marching band." As he sang, seeing Will's encouraging looks he gained courage and began singing louder. By the time he got to the end Will had started singing with him, or at least trying too. He hardly knew the words and, gods, Nico sounded amazing. There was no way he could match it. They finished the song in fits of laughter.

Will looked at Nico, awestruck. "You sounded amazing."

Nico shook his head, "It's just the song, all their songs really. I hardly did it justice, you've got to listen to the original."

"Definitely," the second Will got the chance to, he would probably end up listening to nearly all of My Chemical Romance's songs. It would, if anything, be something to talk about with Nico. "Do you have any recommendations?"

Nico shrugged. "All of them?" he said hopefully.

Will laughed. "Alright, but I'm warning you, I don't know how to like something in moderation."

At that, Nico started laughing as well. As their laughter died down, they fell into a comfortable silence.

Will felt himself drifting off, the time of day and stress finally catching up to him.
