The room was majestic. Crystal floors, walls and ceiling. It was octagonal with a, surprisingly, crystal pedestal in the centre. There was a long walkway leading to a door with the circle emblem of Harmonia on it.
"We must be in one of the Rune rooms." The boy with the dark hair marvelled at the room. Viki eyed him queerly. "Look." He said, pointing to the pedestal. "A rune. Fire rune by the looks of it." He limped slightly as he made his way to it, his frail body looking even worse in the bright light of the crystal room.
Viki, albeit not exactly an adept at magic, could sense the power radiating from the spherical crystal on the pedestal. One of them. "Be careful. That is not an ordinary rune."
The boy turned to her, an intrigued look smeared across his strangely pretty face. "You don't mean," He paused and looked over his shoulder. "A True Rune?"
This can't be good. "We must go. I sense another power nearby." She lied.
He shook his head and turned towards the rune again. It began glowing. White at first, and then yellow, and finally red. Viki thought she felt the temperature of the room rise. She felt her nose itch again.
"Quick, grab my—" A sneeze erupted from her. "Staff." She looked around her blinking in the bright sunlight. "Where am I now?!" She said aloud. Her voice was tinged with frustration.
"Don't move, sorceress." A female voice called out. It was peppered with an exotic tone, one that she thought she recognized. Viki turned and seen a dark skinned girl aiming a loaded crossbow at her. "Your kind brought destruction to our village." Her turquoise eyes were full of conviction.
"Easy, Lu." A tall, dark skinned man approached. His hair, like hers, was blond with black dyed tips. Viki tried to place his face, she knew him, but he wasn't as old as he was now. "Viki? Is that you?"
"It is." She now remembered who he was. "Hugo, isn't it?" This isn't good. The realisation that she was time jumping once again hit her.
"You know this sorceress, father?"
"Yes." He placed his hand on the crossbow and lowered it. "You look exactly the same as you did twenty years ago." Twenty?!
"It's a long—" Oh not again. An itch in her nose alerted her. She tried to stifle it but placing her hand under her nostrils but it was no use. Again, she vanished in a flash of green.
The front of the ship cleaved into a huge wave and the spray drenched her as soon as she reappeared. Salty water stung her eyes. It was ice cold, but finding her balance blindly was her immediate concern. The boat slammed hard into another wave and threw her off her feet. She had no idea what way was up. Picturing where she stood before the water blinded her, she felt herself teleport and then fell from height onto what she hoped was the wooden deck.
The boat was climbing another wave, and she scurried looking for something to hold but to no avail. With no grip she fell back, hurtling into something or someone who grunted. Luckily, this time water stung her nose and caused her to sneeze before she was claimed by the terrifying barrage of waves.
