Plague Steve poked Faceless for the trillionth time that day, bored out of his mind. Or was it only an hour, or as long as thousands of years? He didn't know. All he knew was that he was stuck here, out of the timeline. Lost.
"Will you quit poking me?" Faceless asked, annoyed. He sidled away from Plague Steve.
"I'M BOREED", Plague Steve said back. "There's nothing to do! What do you think I should do, stare at the sky until something happens?! NOTHING HAS HAPPENED SINCE WE WERE PUT HERE!"
"Calm down, Plague Steve!" Faceless said, stepping back. "I don't know if we'll ever get out of here..., but at least we're together, and not alone."
"I know you're right, but I'm tired of seeing these light blue skies, and white ground. There are no trees, no grass, no water, no lava. There's no animals or villagers, nor other mobs. There's no adventure or life anymore..." Plague Steve said.
"Again, it's not that bad." Faceless soothed. "It could be a lot worse."
"NOTHING COULD BE WORSE THAN THIS-!" Plague Steve cut off as lightning struck him.
"Plague Steve!" Faceless cried, reaching toward him in shocked fear. Plague Steve grabbed his hand, terrified, as everything in his vision flashed white. He closed his eyes tightly, holding onto Faceless. A moment later, the lightning stopped, fading to complete silence.
"Are we dead?" Plague Steve asked, breaking the silence, his eyes still closed.
"Plague Steve... Open your eyes! Now! You won't believe it!" Faceless cried out, a bit of laughter in his voice. Plague Steve obeyed and instantly started rubbing his eyes.
"This has to be some sort of dream." Plague Steve said, staring around in wonder.
"It can't be. I'm here, having the same dream then? No, this is real." Faceless said, hugging Plague Steve. "We're home!"
Plague Steve held onto Faceless, confused and shocked, but happy. They were back in the Overworld. They let go of each other and looked around. "How did we get back here?"
"Does it matter? We're back! We can do whatever we want!" Faceless said. The two of them spun around as lightning struck behind them. When it stopped, an achingly familiar steve was standing where the lightning had struck, looking confused for a second. The new steve's expression changed to outrage when he met eyes with Plague Steve.
"You?!" Plague Steve and Infinity Steve Steve said at the same time. Faceless looked on with a bit of worry.
"Why are you here?!" Plague Steve asked, glaring at Infinity Steve.
"I could ask you the same thing." Infinity Steve replied. Plague Steve looked away for a moment.
"I don't know. Faceless and I were removed from the timeline. We got struck by lightning, and teleported here." Plague Steve admitted.
Infinity Steve relaxed slowly. "I don't know how I got here either..."
"Well, since we're all in the same situation, why don't we work together instead of fighting each other?" Faceless broke in.
"That'll be easy for me," Plague Steve said, shooting a sly glance at Infinity Steve. Infinity Steve glared at him and sighed.
"Well, Faceless IS right. If we separate, we have a better chance at us being attacked or something..." Infinity Steve reasoned. "As long as you don't use your infection powers on me, I won't do anything to hurt you."
"Like I'd believe you." Plague Steve muttered, turning his back to Infinity Steve.
"Didn't you get thrown out by Sabre after you defeated me? Don't you want some kind of revenge on him and Rainbow Steve? We're all fugitives now. Instead of fighting, we can work together, and make sure no one criticizes us again!" Infinity Steve said. "And we don't have to live like we did before. We can change our ways, maybe even for the good if we really wanted to."
"Come on Plague Steve... let's give this a shot. If it starts going downhill, we'll leave Infinity Steve by himself." Faceless encouraged.
Plague Steve was silent. He did want to start new, and he didn't want to be enemies with Infinity Steve... but it was hard to trust anything that Infinity Steve was telling them. But what if he was telling the truth? What if he really DOES want to help? Has he really changed? Plague Steve thought to himself, before replying.
"Alright, Infinity Steve. We'll give you a chance." Plague Steve said slowly.
"Yes!" Infinity Steve cried softly, his excitement clear in his voice.
"But, one wrong move, and we leave you. Deal?" Plague Steve said, making his voice low and dangerous, so Infinity Steve would understand how much Plague Steve hated him, and how much Infinity would have to work to gain Plague Steve's trust.
"Deal." Infinity Steve replied, holding out his hand. Plague Steve took it, and they shook hands. They released each other and stepped back.
"Now, we should see if we can find anywhere to shelter, like a village." Plague Steve said, looking around. "Do any of you have your powers?"
"Let's find out." Faceless said. He looked over at Infinity Steve, and hit him once. Infinity Steve jumped back at Faceless took on his appearance. "Looks like my powers work."
"That's creepy..." Infinity Steve said, backing away, as Faceless turned back to his regular appearance. Infinity Steve studied the area around them, and threw a fireball at a lone tree. "My powers work as well."
"I won't try my powers yet. I don't want to draw any more attention with lightning, and I'm not gonna infect you guys. We'll just have to wait to test mine." Plague Steve said. He thought for a moment, and jumped into the air, and hovered above the ground. "My flying works, so that's a good sign."
"Then let's go on an adventure!" Infinity Steve said, imitating Sabre. All three of them laughed, as they set out, side by side.
