A/N: I still don't own Harry Potter or any related characters

"Hermione? Uncle Severus?"

"In the kitchen, Draco."

"Alright, everything is taken care of at Gringotts. The funds are exactly where they will do the most good. Is that fresh bread?"

"It is, Severus and I made it to go with the stew. Did you know there's a whole section of cook books in the library?"

"I did not. I wasn't aware anyone in my family could actually cook. We did rely on the house elves a bit too much, now that I think about it. This is good, maybe I should hire you to cook for me, ha ha."

"I wouldn't mind. It'd be something to do, but Severus did help."

"Only to make sure you wouldn't burn down the kitchen or set something on fire, or destroy the manor. You did most of the work on the bread, Hermione, at least when you weren't staring it my eyes commenting how dark they are."

"They are very dark, Uncle Severus."

"Don't even start, Draco. I have work to attend to. I have picked up a contract brewing for St. Mungo's and I know they will be wanting the latest batch of fever potion sooner rather than later."

"Thank you for watching her, Uncle Severus, and for dinner."

"Let me know if there's anything else either of you need, Draco."

"I will."

"Bye Severus, see you again soon hopefully."

"Good night, Hermione, Draco."

"He really does have very dark pretty eyes."

"So I've heard. I've ordered those books you mentioned where missing from the library and I did manage to work a little magic at Gringotts involving your money, Hermione."

"My money? Oh, right. I'd forgotten, I gave Ron access to my vaults, I thought..."

"It doesn't matter now. I've made sure he can't touch them. Thankfully you didn't marry him, that would have made it a bit more complicated. Most of the wizarding world is old fashioned."

"You mean small minded and the man owns everything?"

"Yes, exactly. Never mind that, your money is safe. Professor Matthers has the funds to continue the research you two are involved in and I did manage to speak to one of my contacts in the law enforcement department."

"Oh?"

"There's been nothing new in your attack, but I have a feeling that some information might surface if we poke the right places."

"Thank you, Draco. I don't know what I'd have done without you. I want to tell you I love you, but I seem to remember you saying I should put a hold on such proclamations."

"So you listen to me?"

"Of course, how could I not? Either way, I think I'm going to grab one last book and head to bed. Good night, Draco."

"Good night, Hermione. I hope you sleep well."

"Thank you."

"She really is something, isn't she Kitty?"

"Reow?"

"Yes, Hermione. I know she's a mess right now, and maybe those feelings aren't real, but, I think, I might be growing to like her, Crookshanks. Is that incredibly foolish of me?"

"Rrrreoow."

"No, I'm not giving you an extra fish because you listened to my idiotic musings."

"Row!"

"Fine, just one more fish, but don't even think of telling Hermione anything I said."

"Mew."

"Good boy."
