Aoi Hyoudou: Here's another one-shot requested by the same reader who suggested Rent-a-Girlfriend and Violet Evergarden. I might feel a little rusty writing this one-shot, but it should be decent. You can be the judge of that. Anyway, hope you enjoy it! Please don't forget to leave a comment afterward.
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters.
"W-W-Whhaaaaaaatttt?!" Ash who just wrapped up his adventure in the Kalos region, soon arrived at Professor Oak's laboratory after receiving word from his mother that the renowned Pokémon Researcher wanted to speak with him and it was urgent. When he arrived, Professor Oak didn't waste any time breaking the news.
It was revealed that Professor Oak voluntarily registered him as a student-teacher at the Kanto Pokémon Academy in Celadon City, to mentor high school seniors to become future Pokémon Trainers. The major announcement was sudden, which resulted in the young trainer being speechless. The old researcher simply chucked at his former student's reaction.
"But, professor..." A frown worked its way to the teen's lips. "I can't teach." Professor Oak chuckled again.
"Come now, my boy, don't sell yourself short," the old professor encouraged with a smile. "Plus, it's more than simply teaching, Ash." Ash listened, knowing fully well he was in for a long lecture. "It's establishing a connection with the new possible trainers and mentoring them with the basics, molding their skills and abilities, and taking them to new heights." It sounds similar to what Ash was doing in his travels with May, Dawn, and Serena. "Also, as an experienced Pokémon Trainer, you can showcase your Pokémon battling style to the class." He proposed an interesting idea, which piqued the teen's interest. "It could motivate some of the unique students in Pokémon battles." Professor Oak brought up some good points, but Ash was still uncertain if he was the right person for the job.
"Still, don't you think Brock or Clemont would be a better choice than me?" the young trainer asked with a deep frown.
"Hmm..." The old researcher cupped his chin and pondered in a thinking manner, almost seem like he was reconsidering his decision until he confirmed he already reached out to the boys about the opportunity. "Unfortunately, they had other plans." That wasn't true. Unbeknownst to Ash, they both accepted the invitation. Professor Oak, however, wasn't going to spoil the surprise. He thought it would be fun if Ash found out for himself.
Ash was going to bring up Gary, but Professor Oak beat him to the punch. "And I already talked to Gary and he declined."
"I see..." The only one left was Tracey, but the Pokémon Researcher was already one step ahead.
"And I need Tracey here."
"Right."
Professor Oak waited patiently as Ash fell silent. Now he was curious if the young trainer was considering going along with the idea of being a student-teacher, despite the fact he had no choice either way. After a long while, the young trainer finally gave his response. "Well, I guess I have no choice but to be your guy, professor," he said with a grin.
Professor Oak expected it, but couldn't help but smile. "You won't regret it, my boy. You might even learn a thing or two while you're there."
So...when do I leave?" Ash couldn't help but ask.
"Tomorrow," the old researcher simply stated.
"T-Tomorrow?!" Ash didn't expect it would be a last-minute invitation.
"Better start packing, Ash," the amused Professor Oak said with a smile.
The next day, Ash arrived at his destination in Celadon City with Pikachu. He was still wearing his Kalos traveling outfit while entering through the gate entrance and setting foot on the Pokémon Academy grounds, admiring the school's surroundings. There were dormitories in the area, divided by gender. Cherry blossoms were circling through the cool breeze, strongly indicating there were Sakura trees nearby. At the corner of his eye, he spotted a private pool for students, only available during the weekends. As the Kanto native resumed his stroll, he caught the sight of a group of students chatting away, still in their academy uniforms. When he walked by, they pay no heed to him or Pikachu. There was also a massive water fountain in the form of a Blastoise in the center of the academy. Water was flowing through from the statue's cannons.
When Ash was nearing the academy's main building, there was a gray-haired man in his late-60's with a scruffy beard waiting for them, almost on cue. He was dressed formally in a sweater vest with a red tie, black dress pants, and brown shoes. A smile curled up against his lips, satisfied by Ash's welcoming presence. "Ah, Ash Ketchum, I presume?" he asked gently.
Ash blinked as he walked into a sudden halt. "...And you are?" the man chuckled in amusement.
"Ah, where are my manners? My name is Mister Saito. I'm the current headmaster of Celadon City's prestigious Pokémon Academy. It's nice to meet you, Mister Ketchum," he greeted.
"Nice to meet you too, Mister Saito," Ash grinned, earning a chuckle.
"Professor Oak has told me all about you and I must say you're quite an intriguing boy."
"Is that so?" the young teen chuckled nervously.
"To think he would send a young lad such as yourself to teach a class for a whole year."
"That makes two of us." he sighed.
"Come now, young lad." the headmaster chuckled. "No need to sell yourself short. If what Professor Oak said was true, then you are very suitable to be a Sensei to the students." He smiled.
"Maybe you're right." Ash chuckled, somewhat encouraged by the man's kind words.
"Now then, are you ready to meet your class?" the headmaster asked, which resulted in a quick nod from his new academy teacher. "Then please follow me."
Inside the classroom of 2-A, there was a lot of chattering going on amongst the students. They heard a rumor that they were getting a student-teacher for the whole academic year. It piqued their interest quite a bit, which eventually led to a heated debate between the male and female students. The boys of course wanted an attractive, mature woman to be their teacher while the girls wanted a sophisticated young man to be theirs. Their bickering eventually drew the attention of five sisters, no...identical quintuplet sisters of varied personalities who were sitting upfront in the class and eavesdropping on the absurd gossip.
"Such a lively bunch aren't they?" chuckled the eldest sister of the quintuplets. Ichika was a girl with very short hair that has a single long strand on the right side. She has white-pink hair color, ranging from oyster pink to light pink shade. Her notable accessory was a single earring. Like her sisters, she has dark blue eyes, an average height, a well-endowed figure, and large breasts. Ichika wore her school uniform with a thin jacket tied to her waist, sometimes with an unbuttoned top, revealing her cleavage.
"Let them chirp away like a bunch of idiots, Ichika!" The harsh yet blunt remark came from the second sister. "It has nothing to do with us." Nino was a cute and cold-looking girl with waist-length or hip-length straight hair that has square bangs hanging over her eyebrows. She had reddish-pink hair, ranging from light pink to telemagenta. Her notable accessories were twin butterfly-shaped ribbons on both sides of her head. She wore a long-sleeved sweater that covered her uniform and a pair of white thigh-high socks.
"You're right, Nino. We will fail the class in the end, regardless..." A low self-esteem response came from the emotionless third sister with medium-length brown hair that has strands of hair hanging over the right side of her face. Her notable accessory was a set of wireless headphones. Miku usually wore a long-sleeved sweater that covered her uniform. She also wore black tights with her headphones around her neck.
Nino fixed her attention to Miku who seemed to be spacing out with an emotionless expression on her face. "Thanks for the morale boost, Miku," she said sarcastically.
"Now, now, Nino! No need to be so mean to Miku! You know how she is!" A very cheerful voice came to Miku's aid.
The frowning Nino averted her gaze to the fourth sister who was a fair-skinned teenage girl with short, straight hair that stopped just around her neck. While her actual hair color was pink, she was portrayed to have light-orange hair color. Her most notable accessory was a bunny ear-shaped ribbon, which can change forms depending on her emotions. Yotsuba wore her uniform with a large butterfly-shaped tie.
"...And besides aren't you a little bit curious who our new teach is?" the energetic younger sister asked.
"No."
"Aww...you're no fun!"
"Sorry, but I have to agree with Nino, Yotsuba," All heads turned towards the fifth and youngest sister of the family.
It was Itsuki.
She was a serious girl with medium-length hair and an expressive ahoge. She has reddish-orange hair color, ranging from light pink to salmon pink. Her notable accessories were a pair of star-shaped hairpins near both of her eyes. She wore her uniform normally without any accessories, like most of the girl students.
"Aww...not you too, Itsuki!" Yotsuba pouted cutely.
Itsuki simply rolled her eyes and crossed her arms together. "Do I have to remind you Yotsuba that we're not here to have fun?" The only response was a frown. "We didn't transfer from Asahiyama High School just so we can fail again!" she lectured. "We're here to learn and become Pokémon Trainers!" She may sound harsh, but she was right about one thing.
This was their last chance to prove they weren't failures.
"You're right, Itsuki," Ichika spoke up before any of the other quintuplets could with a smile.
Itsuki puffed up her chest proudly. "Well, of course, I am, Ichika! I know what's best for everyone."
Her sisters simply rolled their eyes at her arrogance.
"Ah, here we are. Class 2-A!" Headmaster Saito announced as he and his honorary teacher arrived at their destination, standing just outside the classroom. They could hear a loud commotion coming from the other side of the door. "Lively as ever, I see." he chuckled in amusement. Then he turned away momentarily and faced Ash. "Please wait here while I informed the class that you're here." Ash simply gave a nod.
The headmaster was about to enter the classroom before something almost slipped his mind. He spared a glance right back to the young teen. "Oh! One more thing!" He regained Ash and Pikachu's attention. "Don't be surprised if there are twists and turns while you're here." They blinked in confusion by his cryptic message.
"What do you mean?" Ash asked, only to receive a smile in return.
"You'll find out shortly," the headmaster said simply, leaving the teen more puzzled than before as he slid the classroom door open and walked inside.
The moment the headmaster entered the classroom, all the students were already sitting at their respective desks. The amused man walked up to the front of the room and then greeted the class. "Greetings, students!" he said kindly.
"Hello, headmaster!" they responded respectfully in chorus.
"As you may know, you will be getting a student-teacher for the whole year. While he may be young and inexperienced, please show him with the utmost respect like you normally do with me. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes, sir!"
The headmaster's lips curled up into a smile, very pleased with the response, but then he glanced over to the quintuplet sisters momentarily before returning his attention to the rest of the class. "Very well, let me introduce your new Sensei." He fixed his gaze towards the doorway. "Mister Ketchum, you may enter." All heads immediately turned towards the anxious trainer and his partner as they entered the classroom. As expected, all eyes were glued on Ash as he made his way in front of the class. Whispers and chatters began to erupt from the students. Ash's unexpected presence also drew some attention from the five sisters.
Ichika and Yotsuba both looked intrigued.
Nino looked annoyed as hell.
Itsuki couldn't believe her eyes and was utter in disbelief.
And lastly, Miku was being Miku, having no interest whatsoever as she was lost in her little world.
"Please introduce yourself to your class, Mister Ketchum," the headmaster instructed.
Ash took a moment to clear out the butterflies in his stomach before gathering the courage to introduce himself to his students. "Hi, I'm Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town and I'm your new teacher!" he laughed. "I hope, uh, we can get along for a full year!" He gave the students a big cheesy grin.
Itsuki slammed her hands on her desk and stood up, drawing all eyes onto her. "Headmaster!" She hissed through her gritted teeth. "You can't be serious!"
"I have to agree!" Nino stood up as well, frowning at the mere thought of a boy around their age was their Sensei. "Is this some kind of a sick joke?!"
"This is no joke, you two." The headmaster simply brushed aside the girls' rudeness and laughed. "Young Ketchum here is indeed your new Sensei." Nino and Itsuki's facial expressions froze in horror. "Miss Ichika-" The eldest sister flinched when she heard her name being called. "Miss Yotsuba." The energetic girl looked pumped. "Miss Miku." The quiet girl simply stared off into space. "Miss Nino and Miss Itsuki!" Both girls snapped out from their trance and stared at the headmaster. "Starting today, you five will be under Ash-Sensei's special care," he announced with a smile.
"W-W-WHHHAAAATTTT!"
Cliffhanger! Why must I do this to you guys?! lol Well, we shall see if this series continues or not. Not my best work since I had trouble getting it done. Also, sorry for the delay since I was under the weather for a few days prior. Anyway, I hope you guys at least enjoy it and saw the potential.
