Hello everyone, this is my first fanfic ever posted, so I hope you enjoy :D. I know romance may be kinda boring to y'all, but I promise my next stories will be different. Anyways, let's get straight into 'Beneath a starry night sky'!

Disclaimer: I don't own Inazuma Eleven or its characters.

Tenma's POV

Her eyes, luminous, nearly glowing in front of the dark blue shape of the night sky. The cold and empty little breeze wrapping around our entire bodies.

It felt amazing, sitting on a bench in the chilly and lonely summer night. Even so, I wasn't there by myself.

A girl in my class and also a friend of mine was sitting next to me. But neither of us could bring out a word, just staring at the little sparkling dots in the sky, thinking about anything except school.

When finally, she turned her head towards me. She seemed a bit nervous while speaking the sweet and soft words. 'It's beautiful out here.' I couldn't respond with anything more than a little 'Yeah…', avoiding any eye contact with her.

She has always been a good friend to me, ever since we've known each other from primary school. She is sweet, kind, and cares a lot about others, especially me. And despite her overall good-looking appearance and cute personalities, she also has some sort of positivity along with her, being able to make people feel better when needed. Or that's just how I felt it.

Right now I couldn't look at her without blushing bright red. She was even more beautiful than the sky. Why did I need to have a crush on her? I didn't want anything to change the way it was.

Aoi's POV

'It's beautiful out here.' It truly was, but I'm still unaware if it was because of the sparkling night sky up above or the warm and pleasing appearance of the boy next to me, perhaps both.

I was looking up at the sky, with the silence approaching. I stole a glance at him and his curled wind-like brown hair. He suddenly looked in the other direction, avoiding eye contact with me.

'What's wrong Tenma?' I asked, still looking at him. Now I could see his greyish, blue eyes, but he still refused to look at me.

His empty stare at the grass made him almost look sad. After a long silence, he finally opened his mouth to speak. 'T-There is nothing wrong, I-I'm fine.'

Through the dim light reflected by the lanterns on the street, I noticed that he was blushing. Was he really fine? I shove closer to him, but my sudden action made the red colour on his cheeks brighter and stand out more.

I didn't know what to do. From closer up, I could see his face better. His clear blue eyes, you could see his love for soccer in them, and his determination for the sport we so adore.

He was beautiful, he just was, I can't go over the fact that I like him.

My long stare at him made my cheeks red as well and I turned my face away from his, nervous and embarrassed. In the cool wind of the night, I could hear his soothing voice speaking to me. He probably finally turned his face towards me.

He must've seen the blush on my face. 'Aoi…'

Tenma's POV

She was sitting close to me, I could feel her warmth. I enjoyed this moment, but I was just too shy near my crush.

She also seemed to be that way though. I mean, she was looking away from me, blushing. I had to tell her, I knew I had to, I just couldn't find the courage to do so.

'Aoi…' I slowly started. I was still looking at her, flabbergasted, seeking words.

The fact that she was blushing near me and couldn't look at me was some sort of relief. I was happy, to be here with her.

I let a smile cast on my face, sudden confidence leading me to the words I wanted to say for quite a while. 'I love you.' I immediately regretted speaking, I must've said something really stupid.

She slowly turned her head towards me, but I wasn't quite able to catch her face. I was so nervous that my eyes naturally averted from her. And not to mention the shame I felt for telling her. I really messed up! What was she thinking of me?

An awkward silence appeared, cause we were both lost for words.

But then, I could sense her getting closer to me. Her warm and soft lips pressed on my cheek, she was kissing me.

She was kissing me? What does that mean? It felt like an eternity, when in reality, it was only a few seconds.

She had pulled her lips away from me.

I finally turned my face over to her, staring her in the eyes. We were both blushing madly.

I could feel the wind blowing through our hair when Aoi broke the silence. 'I love you too.'

Aoi's POV

I could see the glare in his eyes. We looked at each other for a bit, a warm feeling welled up inside of me.

Now he was the one to make a move. He closed his eyes while kissing me on my lips, passionately. I slowly closed my eyes too. I could feel him putting his hands on my cheeks, enjoying this moment to its fullest. I responded by pulling my arms around his neck.

Unaware of how much time had passed nor how late it was we had pulled away, smiling at each other. We may have kissed for a few seconds or for the rest of the year.

I was already longing for his warmth again, for his face and his eyes.

I began to shiver, it wasn't until now that I realized how much colder it had become. And the sky had lost all of its dark blue, the darker black colour taking over the entire horizon.

Tenma realized I was cold, so he put his hands on my shoulders and shook to warm me up.

'Thanks,' I said, resting my head on his shoulder, feeling his warmth. His presence alone could've warmed me up already.

It was late, but I didn't feel tired.

Tenma stood up, leaving me behind in the cold. But I knew he wasn't going to walk away from me.

Why did he stand up? He ignored my confused gaze and walked towards the oak tree a few meters away from us.

That made everything clear to me. I forgot, he was practicing alone here at the riverbank, after spotting me he left the soccer ball near the tree and sat down next to me.

I was expecting to see him practice his dribbling some more, instead, he walked towards me showing me the ball. 'Let's play soccer!'

'What?' I asked making a confused face towards him.

'Don't you want to play soccer? I know you're not that great at soccer, but don't you want to play it with me? It's pretty cold just sitting there.'

'Can I?'

'Of course!'

'Sure!' We were just kicking the ball at each other. His mastery over the ball was stunning as always, he made it all look so easy.

I will never be able to keep up with his skills, but at least I had the opportunity to enjoy them.
