Sorry for the long wait. I was really confused on what to do with All Might. I figure being retired from hero work will improve his health overall. _
Eri led the group down. "So that's three votes for Jack?" some nodding "Yogan is exempt and Kota left." Emiko chirped up: "I vote Kyoshi" *continuing in a poor accent* "he has an arsenal of deadly weapons" and security didn't bat an eye when he brought it in. Mikata voted for Sam. And Eri voted for Fujioka, claiming she could be an interior decorator. Rotasu and Fujioka voted for themselves.
Mikata voted for Eri respecting that she wanted to be like her idols. Sam agreed and voted the same. Followed by Katsuma. Kyoshi voted for Jack not really caring about the competition.
Ishiki and Kibara voted for Mikata on account of everything he brought being strategic. Teishi and Emiko voted for Kyoshi. Tara voted for Sam. Tsuki voted for Fujioka. Jack won with four votes.
(Who won doesn't really matter)
1:20 pm (Start of hero studies)
Kota was in his seat eagerly waiting, and so was the rest of the class. Everyone was eager to start this class, it was the first step towards a very real, and fast approaching goal, being a hero.
Professor Toshinori wore a bright gold-colored suit and a blue necktie. He threw the door open saying "Your Professor is here!" he wasn't loud but his voice commanded respect. He smiled with a similar eagerness to the students.
The professor set down his bag. "This is the most important class at UA. Think of it as hero 101, You will learn the basics of being a pro and what it means to fight in the name of good." The class leaned forward the excitement was barely contained. "Let's get into it. Today's lesson is Pull No Punches. But you can't forget, one of the keys to be a hero is, looking good."
He pulled a clicker from his pocket and too his left 20 numbered briefcases revealed themselves. "These were made based on your quirk registration forms and the requests you sent in before school started." The whole class exclaimed with joy "Costumes!" Get yourselves suited up and we'll meet at training ground beta.
Kota opened his briefcase to reveal his suit. It looked like his sketches, the googles and face mask came together inside the helmet, it was akin to a samurai's. The armor was a reflective red and a matted dark grey, it was sleek and light. The backpack was smaller than he expected. There was a series of tubes running up and down the inside of the armor. The thumbs hid a trigger to a motor in either glove. The belt was equipped with flares, extra rebreathers and glowsticks.
Training Ground Beta
The students joined their professor at the Training Ground. "Okay, here's the rules. You will be spilt into teams of two by drawing lots to stimulate a random team up that you would deal with in the field. The villain team will protect a fake bomb in the building for eight minutes, while the heroes attempt to locate the bomb. If a hero touches the bomb or wraps both villains' wrists in this capture tape, the heroes win. Otherwise, the villains win.
The students began drawing lots. Kota got a seven, Eri got a nine, Yogan got an eight. Kota was not enthusiastic about his teammate, the only thing he knew about Emiko was that she was easily excited and wasn't above vandalism. The villain team gave Kota mixed feelings Yogan's fire quirk and Kyoshi's glass had a disadvantage against him. Emiko's costume left her upper arms and head exposed.
Katsuma and Jack were paired to fight Samidare and Sakuru first. They weren't given much time to plan a strategy. Sam and Sakuru had a diverse kit, the latter of the group had capture potential. As soon as the countdown started Katsuma used his quirk on Jack. The latter of the two was split into fifteen duplicates.
Some people mused at the feat. The Jacks started searching for the bomb. Sam and Sakuru split up, Sakuru stayed to guard the bomb, leaving Sam to move to intercept, the inverse of which would have been a mistake, Sam has the agility to deal with multiple people.
Sam found himself crawling on the ceiling down a hallway when two jacks came around the corner. They saw him immediately. Sam dropped to the floor on his hands and spun kicking them in the chest.
One of the jacks dissipated when it hit the floor and the other rolled into a standing position. Sam didn't give him time to recover. He followed up by dropping a heel into the jack's shoulder. The jack dematerialized.
"Two down" "Copy"
Elsewhere, Katsuma watched Jack shutter. I'm down two, they were probably on the second floor, I don't think they cleared it yet. Katsuma asked. "Does that mean you found the bomb?"
"Not if Sam and Sakuru split up let's hurry up." Katsuma and thirteen jacks reconvened in the stairwell and moved to the third floor. The jacks fanned out down the hall. Katsuma looked over his shoulder to see Sam peering back at him. Katsuma jumped sideways out of view. "Sam is behind us!" three jacks turned around to attack the amphibian assailant that lept over their heads bounding down the hall and around a corner. Three other jacks chased after him. Katsuma stopped two jacks "He's trying to distract us." Katsuma activated his quirk again, both the jacks split in two.
Katsuma led them down a hallway Sam had hopped past. "This way" the other jacks regrouped. They found the bomb shortly. With several dozens of ho-la-hoops floating around it with no specific pattern. Sakuru stood in front of the bomb "I've got you right where I want you" he said, Katsuma motioned for the jacks to enter the room. They fanned out avoiding the rings.
Katsuma stepped into the room. Some of the rings spun slowly some revolved around larger ones. None were smaller than a foot across, none larger than five feet across. The jacks started picking their way through the rings. Katsuma stopped two of them. Sakuru held out his hands and balled them, rings snapped to the nearest targets, squeezing Jacks' arms, legs and torsos, holding two, then five, then ten in place and pulling them to the ceiling.
"This is what I call the Magic Snare. I noticed you have a limit to how many copies you can make jack, losing one makes you dizzy, I can make you lose ten at once." The Jacks started complaining as a collective. "Please don't, the migraine is going to be awful!" "You dick!" "Don't be an ass!" "What the heck man!"
Katsuma grabbed the two Jacks and activated his quirk again. Two became four then four became eight. "Grab him!" the eight jacks didn't question him; they ran at Sakura trying to tackle him all at once. Sakuru added the first four to his collection on the ceiling. But was overtaken, one of the Jacks wrapped his left hand in capture tape but exploded like a meeseeks when a punch from his other hand connected with the jack's jaw. He exploded another with a kick to its ribs when the horn blared.
All Might's voice came on the intercom "that's a victory for the heroes, for capturing the bomb." Katsuma stood with one hand flat against the side of the cartoonish thing.
Sam appeared in the doorway, out of breath: "Damn!"
All Might turned around to face his students, "Can anyone tell me what the villains did wrong?"
Several students raised their hands. "Kibara" "Sir, they split up and Sakuru didn't use his trap effectively, he could have rendered Jack useless but didn't, either due to this being a training exercise or not knowing the all of the side effects I think he exercised the most restraint."
All Might nodded. "That's about right, Heroes win but nobody give them accommodation, they only won due to poor planning and execution by the villains."
"Teams three and four; it's your turn." Mikata and Teishi versus Kibara and Rotasu.
The heroes started searching the building for the bomb. Kota saw vines covering the ground on one of the monitors. He wasn't the only one. He saw Professor Toshinori glancing at it.
Instead of splitting up both teams were sticking together. Rotasu had the bottom half of the bomb and the floor of the entire room and some of a hallway with vines. Ibara hid by the doorway while Rotasu waited for their prey closer to the bomb.
When they found the bomb Mikata led the way with a barrier in front of him. Kibara tried to tackle him from the side only to freeze mid-air, Teishi's eyes had changed, the white had gone black and the irises were glowing now. Rotasu sprung her trap but found it was moving like molasses. Mikata ran ahead while his teammate slowed everything down, but not fast enough, Teishi's quirk stopped working, the vines snapped shut on him and Ibara went flying, the lizard boy jumped to Mikata and held him down while Rotasu's vines wrapped his legs. With both heroes incapacitated the timer expired.
The professor rested his forehead in his palm. "Ok, you have some work to do. Let's see the next group." Ishiki and Taara versus Sora and June.
Heroes:
Ishiki Intolen quirk: Awareness, his quirk allows him to determine the location of anyone or any moving object within 200ft of him regardless of obstacles or obstructions.
Taara Watanabe quirk: Air-blast, can create gusts of wind ranging from a low power ceiling fan to a powerful cyclone.
Villains:
Sora Kurasha quirk: Kilo Kilo, it allows him to adjust weights by manipulating gravity, he can make himself as heavy as 5,400 kilograms and as light as 54 grams. It doesn't change his size or durability though.
June Tenmetsu quirk: Blink, she can teleport anything smaller than a refrigerator anywhere within 20 feet of her current location, it doesn't change momentum or direction though if you teleport facing west you are still facing west after.
Kota didn't pay much attention to this fight he had the fight after it. He pulled Emiko aside to talk strategy.
Eri watched the fight intently, these people had quirks that didn't need help. Awareness and air-blasts versus gravity control and teleportation. The ending wasn't unexpected, but the strategy was. When the heroes found the bomb, Sora used his quirk on it to keep it away from the heroes first by making it so heavy it dropped through the floor, then so light June could teleport around with it.
Professor Toshinori was, possibly impressed? Eri wasn't sure. "Right so I didn't say they couldn't move the bomb. So that's a win for the villains."
There was a brief break to reset the exercise, then it was Kota's turn.
I know my followers hate me and all but I'm working on it. I wish I did more of this, I really do enjoy telling stories. More soon.
