3. Chocolate Day
Thalia Grace & Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano
Thalia. Grace. Was. HOT.
Smokin' hot.
And Reyna definitely preferred her over the other Grace.
It was just after she had joined The Hunt that she had actually seen Thalia for the first time. That was the last time Reyna had looked at any other girl. Or guy.
The other Hunters had teased her for getting flustered anytime Thalia was around. She would start tripping on her own toes, missing the often-achieved target while at the shooting practice, or would just simply choke on air while talking. Just thinking about all this made her face go red.
"What?" Reyna groaned as Nia nudged her rather harshly at the dinner table, nodding towards the entrance of the temporary camp the Hunters had set up. She looked in that direction, irritated. And her heart literally stopped beating.
Holy Hera, Thalia was finally, after two very long weeks, back from her Hunt! The ex-Praetor sucked in a sharp breath as she saw the daughter of Zeus wearing her signature black leather jacket, with a white shirt and black denims which made Reyna go all gushy-mushy. Her hair was as black and spiky as her boots.
Reyna's cheeks colored as she very unprofessionally choked on the piece of bagel she was chewing, while she watched the other girl smirk at someone's remark. She silently hoped that Thalia wouldn't notice her gagging.
Too late to regret. The Huntress was already coming towards her, waving rather cheerfully.
Uh-oh.
Trying to avoid eye-contact, Reyna just awkwardly waved as she got up and turned, running off towards her tent. However brave she might have boasted of being in battle, in front of that girl, Reyna just melted into a mushy puddle of slime.
As she closed the door behind her, Reyna slid to the floor, her head in her hands, trying to calm her racing heart in vain. Instead, the fool just tapped louder and louder on her ribcage, trying to find a way out.
And then the tapping got more distinct, eventually turning into rash knocking. It was only after a good minute that Reyna realized that the knocking was actually coming from the other side of the door.
Thalia! She thought and considered what to do.
And then she pulled herself together and hesitatingly opened the door. The other Huntress's name was barely out of her mouth when a pair of warm lips crashed onto hers, forcing them to fall open in shock.
For a moment she was stunned, not knowing what to do. Then deciding she might as well give-in, she kissed the daughter of Zeus back.
Two hands grabbed Reyna's waist as she put hers around Thalia's neck, pulling her closer. The two demigods disastrously waded through the mess in Reyna's room, finally flopping down on the bed. Their bodies now moved in a rhythm similar to their synchronized heartbeats.
The daughter of Bellona was the first one to break the kiss, desperately gasping for air. Her hands fumbled for her pocket, yanking out some Hershey's Kisses she had bought for Thalia today. It was Chocolate Day, after all, and even if Reyna might find these lovey-dovey things cringey, she was secretly excited to give the candies to her the girl she liked.
Or was it love?
Tearing open the wrapper, Reyna popped a candy into her mouth. Then she smiled at Thalia as she pulled her into a sloppy kiss. She loved the sweetness of the blue-eyed girl's lips, mixed with that of the chocolate.
The taste was so unique, it soon got her high. She could feel the aura around them, full of love and desire, and she knew. She knew that it was all a dream, and anytime now she would open her eyes and all of it, the good feeling and the love, the sense of belonging, would all slowly fade away.
Ignoring the voices in her head, Reyna pushed the other demigod down on the bed and lay with her, never breaking the connection. Her hands explored Thalia's body, resting on her hips, and then lifting the hem of her shirt and slipping her hands beneath. The warm skin almost burned the former Praetor's palms as she slowly rubbed it.
Thalia was more impatient, so she just grabbed Reyna's t-shirt and pulled it up. Reyna colored slightly.
The chocolate was over sooner than expected, so Reyna just popped another in her mouth. And then another. However, she decided that the lips on hers were definitely sweeter.
Sometime later, the girls lay side to side on the bed, their hearts throbbing with euphoria. They didn't say anything, just laid there silently, holding each other.
It was understood that they needed no words to convey what they felt. Just listening to each other's heartbeats was enough for them. Formal confessions could wait for some other time. For now, all was well for them.
Reyna sighed softly as she gazed lovingly at the sleeping figure beside her. She chuckled as she propped herself on her right arm, using the free hand to brush away the tangled jet-black hair from Thalia's sweaty face.
It really was love.
Reyna was content, as for now. Even if it all was a dream, at least she was there to witness it. And she was happy for that.
The daughter of Bellona rolled over onto her stomach, feeling sleepy. But before she closed her eyes, she glanced at Thalia for one last time.
"Buenas noches, mi cielo," she whispered.
Buenas noches, mi cielo (Spanish): I love you, my sky.
Do me a favor, and love yourself a bit more today. And just so you know, reviews are worshipped here!
Love & Peace!
PS: I know I'm late, and I'm really sorry for that.
