A/N: From here on out, the chapter lengths will be getting longer. The first two chapters were just meant to provide a Preview, and understanding of a little history of my main OC.

Sun and Moon Fairy
On the second day of the Earth's summer holidays, the day before Alfea was open for students, Bloom turned sixteen. Despite having arranged to meet for an early lunch in the park, I knew that Bloom wouldn't have set an alarm and so would be late. Because of this, I'd brought a book to read while I waited for Bloom to wake up and have breakfast with her parents – who wouldn't let her leave the house without eating something even if she had been planning on meeting me for an early lunch.
Just as I had predicted, Bloom didn't turn up until an hour after we had arranged to meet. Instead of coming on foot, like she normally would have done, she was riding a red bicycle – obviously her parent's birthday gift to her.
"Hi Bloom." I greeted with a smile before spotting the rabbit in the basket at the front. "Hi Kiko."
"Hi Onyx, I'm so sorry I'm late. I overslept." Bloom said apologetically as she joined me on the floor.
"I like the bike, birthday gift?" I questioned, showing her that I didn't mind that she had overslept. It wasn't like we were going to school, or anything important, this was just two friends meeting at the park. Two friends who had known each over going on nine years.
"Yeah, my dad's still refusing to admit that I'm sixteen. Practicably an adult." Bloom said, her frustration coming across in her tone.
"That's because they love you, Bloom. They care about your health, your father is a firefighter, how many road accidents has he had to respond to? Having a scooter isn't everything you know. Having a bicycle is much better for you." I comforted her.
"I know you're right, but sometimes' it really annoys me." Bloom said, smiling gratefully.
"Well then, maybe this will make you feel better." I told her, reaching into to my bag to pull out the small box.
"You don't have to get me a gift." Bloom said worriedly. She knew that I didn't have access to a lot of money. Only what I had from working around the city and she didn't like me spending money on her.
"I made it." I told her with a laugh. "Didn't spend a single dime."
"Alright." Bloom sighed before opening the wooden box. Bloom gasped as she stared wide eyed at the necklace inside. "It's beautiful." She breathed, carefully reaching to pull it out.
I had used some of the materials that my father had packed with me, thinking I would need it to trade for goods, in order to make her something special for her birthday. The chain was made of silver metal, which had taken some careful fire work to turn it into a delicate neckless which would feel cool and soft on her skin. At the base of the chain, which would rest in the hollow of Bloom's neck, was a circular cage. Inside of it was a fire ruby. Blues and red's suited Bloom, and I had chosen the red fire stone because it reminded me of the power that I could sense from her.
When I'd realised that this world didn't trade in goods anymore, rather using currency like the rest of the Magix dimension, I'd taken to practising the limited blacksmithing and jeweling skills I'd had. It had taken time, and lots of mistakes, but I'd now rate my skills to be similar to a middle or high junior even though I hadn't figured out how to add magic without compromising the materials. I was trying to figure out how to add magic to soft materials like fabrics, first, before trying again with metals and gems.
"Well, put it on." I encouraged. Once she had done so I smiled brightly at her. "It looks perfect on you." I told her.
"You should go into jewellery making, it's wonderful, thank you." Bloom said with a happy smile. Her arms twitched like she wanted to hug me, but she knew that I didn't like being hugged so she refrained.
"Go find an acorn Kiko and I'll toss it around with you." Bloom told the rabbit which was poking at her leg. "I brought some lunch." Bloom told me, grabbing a paper bag from the basket in front of the bike and opening it.
"I told you that you didn't have to bring me lunch." I sighed.
"But I wanted to eat lunch with you." Bloom counted. This was an argument they had quiet regularly. Since the majority of my food was what I could grow, hunt or forage for I didn't generally eat lunch preferring to just have snacks of nuts or berries during the day. When Bloom had realised this, she had started buying me lunch or bringing extra food from her home. Since I didn't like waste, I would always eat the food even though I was not comfortable with the fact that she kept doing this. Fortunately, Bloom would only bring food once a week or so and not every time I saw her.
They sat in a peaceful silence, enjoying their lunch in the warm spot of grass they had found, but were interrupted by Kiko running back into the clearing and screaming.
"What's the matter Kiko?" Bloom asked her panting rabbit while I stood.
Clearly something had scared Bloom's pet. Although the rabbit was typically a coward, he seemed generally worried about whatever he had seen. I began walking in the direction that Kiko had come from. While carefully moving through the woods I frowned – there was the taste of Magic in the air. Something that I hadn't felt on Earth before since Bloom's magic was contained inside her person.
Not far from where Bloom and I had been sat eating lunch, there was a large clearing. And it was this clearing that the Magic was coming from. There was a young girl, likely sixteen like us. She was wearing an orange crop top which tied around the neck, and short orange shorts. She had blue forearm guards and a blue headband. Her hair was long, falling in two tails down to her knees. Identifying her as a fairy, was her small blue wings which appeared to be three petals on her back. The sparkle that seemed to surround her body in this form identified her as a sun fairy.
The reasons for her appearance on earth was explained by the purple, claw footed ghoul's that she was fighting. There was a large number of them, and since she had clearly been taken off course of her travel, they hadn't attacked this fairy by chance.
Bloom had followed Kiko and I to the clearing and was watching the sun fairy fight with wide eyes. The girl generated a decent amount of Magic in her palm, and with a cry of "Rising Sun Burse" released the orange light at the ghouls which sent them tumbling away from her.
"Take that." The sun fairy cheered.
It seemed the ghouls weren't alone because from the shadows an Orge stepped with a fierce growl. Well, that wasn't good. Sun fairies weren't taught combat, and it was surprising that the sun fairy was even able to manipulate her Magic in an attack at only sixteen – unless she had been to Alfea the year before. Against an Orge the girl didn't really stand a chance, her attacks barely effecting the resistant hide of the Orge. On the upside, it wasn't a troll which were far tougher.
"Go away Villain, or you will feel the Magic of the sun and moon fairy." The fairy announced, levelling her staff at the Orge. My eyes widened slightly, sun and moon. That meant that this fairy was of the royal line of Solaria. Of dear. That wasn't good at all. But it did explain why she had a measure of control over her Magic.
The Orge simple battered the fairy to the side, causing her to skid across the ground.
"Oh my goodness." Bloom muttered in worry as the ghouls jumped on the fairy to hold her down.
"Stay here," I advised Bloom, snapping a large branch from the tree. I didn't want to use my magic and materialise my weapons, so the make shift staff would have to do.
"Your times up fairy." The orge growled.
"Hay, ugly." I shouted, charging the orge.
The sun fairy would be able to free herself from the ghouls as long as she kept her hold on the sceptre. The orge didn't really have a chance to realise what was happening, I wacked it solidly across the face with the branch making it stumble back away from the sun fairy. I didn't let the orge recover, pushing my advantage and delivering blows to the orges body and forcing it away from the sun fairy.
I vaguely heard Bloom call the attention of the ghouls to herself, but I figured that the sun fairy would be able to help her deal with them. Ghouls were simple beasts, and a good blow would cause them to dispel if conjured by magic or be knocked unconscious if they were formed from matter.
I stopped my attack when I felt a surge of magic from Bloom. I jumped back from the Orge so it couldn't take my distraction as an opportunity to attack and looked over to the tree line where I had a left Bloom. A large, fire red shield had appeared around Bloom – forming from the centre of her outstretched hand – throwing back and burning the ghouls which had been getting to close to her. The sun fairy had climbed back to her feet and was tightly gripping her sceptre.
"Wow, powerful." The sun fairy whispers impressed.
"I'd advise that you retreat Orge. You're not going to win this one." I levelled my branch at the orge which was looking quite battered. He clearly wasn't used to being faced in combat because he hadn't known what to do to stop my blows from landing.
The orge growled angrily, his eyes darting between the three fairies. There was still a large number of ghouls around, but he couldn't stop me even when I wasn't using magic or taking on a fairy form.
"We'll meet again, blondy." The orge announced, clapping his hands and disappearing in a flash of light. Interesting, teleportation wasn't something that orges could do. The fact that the ghouls disappeared at the same time suggests that they had been linked through Magic, which was a skill normally only demonstrated by Witches.
"Thank goodness they're gone at last." The sun fairy announced, her body briefly glowed as she reverted to her standard form. She was wearing a long orange skirt with a slit down the left leg. Her orange shirt was cropped shorter in this form, cinched in at the middle and with blue tassels looped underneath. She was also wearing a blue shoulder thing which formed an image of her wings on her back. She also had on her blue terra and circular hair piece. Her blond hair was shorter but still lush and falling to her waist.
Immediately on retaking her normal form, the sun fairy collapsed exhausted. Clearly, she had used to much magic fighting the ghouls. I dropped my branch and went to check on the fairy to see if she was injured. She didn't have any visible wounds.
"Bloom, are you okay?" I asked as the girl approached. She had a piece of her trousers torn, likely from where one of the ghouls had gotten to her before she threw them back. But she didn't seem injured.
"Yeah, I'm fine. What was that? Is she okay?" Bloom asked her voice laced with worry.
"She's fine. Just exhausted. We should probably take her back to your place. If that's okay?" I asked.
"Yeah, um, how?" Bloom asked.
"I'll carry her," I smiled, lifting the girl over my shoulder in a fireman's carry. She was quiet light compared to some of the things that I had trained with being able to carry.
"What were them things? How did she do that? Is she… is she some kind of fairy?" Bloom asked wide eyed as they walked back to their original clearing so Bloom could pick up her bike.
"Yes, a sun and moon fairy, which means she's from the royal line of Solaria." I explained simple.
"How, do you know that?" Bloom asked the expected question with a frown. I just hoped she wouldn't hate me for hiding the truth from her for so long.
"Because I'm a fairy to. I've made sure to read up on all the kingdoms in the magic dimension so I would be prepared when I go to Alfie." I answered.
"But you don't have wings." Bloom frowned.
"That's because all fairies have two forms. Their base form and their Magic form. Which is why the fairy's appearance changed and her wings disappeared." I explained.
"And what about what I did back there?"
"Well, that was magic. It means you're a fairy too." I smiled at her proudly.
"Really? I'm a fairy?"
"Yeah, and you can join me at Alfea." I said happily. "The new school year starts tomorrow."
"That's why you said you wouldn't see me for a while." Bloom said her eyes wide.
"Yeah. I mean, I could have still travel between dimensions to visit you, and I can phone you, but once I entered Alfea, I probably wouldn't return to live on Earth." I smiled. "But now I don't have to leave you behind."
