Fatima woke up the next morning and realized that she wasn't alone. She shot straight up, ready to defend herself. Then she saw her partner, barely awake, sitting on the bed. She remembered what happened last night and smiled. She realized that she had fallen asleep so quickly because she felt safe and loved. She smiled.

"Morning, sunshine," Rountree teased gently. Fatima blushed and crawled back into the bed next to him. They had moved from a sitting position to laying down, but Devin had held her all night. "You sleep okay?" he asked.

"Yeah, I guess. You want first shower?" she asked.

"You take first, okay? I'll make breakfast, how's that sound?" he asked.

"My mom usually makes breakfast. Shit, they don't know you stayed the night," Fatima whispered.

"Nothing is gonna happen, right?" he asked worriedly.

"Devin, they're old enough to be in retirement homes-" Fatima began.

"So is Hetty!" he protested. Fatima actually giggled at that. Then she straightened up, biting her lip to keep from laughing. "Why you being serious? It's not like Hetty heard you," he said. Fatima's eyes widened.

"Would you want to take that risk?!" she squeaked. Rountree looked down.

"No," he whispered.

"I'll be back," she said quietly. He nodded as she grabbed her clothes and put them in a basket, then disappeared into the bathroom. "Stay in there!" she called out.
