POV of UGETSU MURATA
It's been a year since we started dating, and right now, me and Adam are still together. After a month of dating, we left our apartment and moved to a bigger place, somewhere that was close to the park where Adam's food truck stand. And it's not the same as his cartoonish apartment. Thank god! The place we're both living in was pretty big, so big that I have my own practice room where I can create new music without disturbance. But sometimes I use that room as an escape room, especially when Adam went too far for being such a damn bully. So when that happens, he will stay by the door without moving an inch until I let him in, and when I do, he will shower me with kisses and apologies, as always. I mean, why does he even bother when he'll come back to tease me again. My curiosity got the best of me, so I asked him, and he told me he couldn't help it because he likes my reaction. Since then, I tried so many tricks just to see him all shy and bothered, but it always came back to bite me, that's why I gave up.
You see, the more we stayed together, the more secrets I learned about him. There was this time when his grandpa Lou visited us for the first time. I was stunned and happy at the same time because I recognized him right away. His grandpa was the cook of the ramen house I used to frequent back in my high school days in Japan, and seeing him made me miss my friends and the town I grew up with.
One time when we went out for a drink to celebrate our first anniversary, Adam got drunk really fast. He suddenly became hyper and started to mumble things, such as his future plan for us, how he wanted to open up his own restaurant below our place, and some other nonsensical things. Like, the Earth is flat and not round, or that his skin is natural and not artificially made from sunlight or whatever. He even babbled to the people that he used to be a fat kid. Well, to sum up it was hell and embarrassing. I wouldn't dare to try and show my face there ever again! That's Adam for you, if you think he talks too much, wait till he gets drunk and he'll tell you all about his journey in life, and his superstition about ghosts, and dwarfs.
All I can say right now is that even though we have different personalities, our relationship still stands strong. I'd be lying if I say it's perfect, because it's not. We argue sometimes, but not always, and Adam never let me sleep until we sort things out because that's the kind of man he is. And I'm glad that I met him, or rather be fucked by him, because he's so good at it, like he literally possessed a destructive weapon! God was so unfair for bestowing such a precious, intimidating… manhood for a frenzied, virgin guy like him!
Sorry, I got sidetracked there. Anyways, as I said, me and Adam are still both living happily together, and it will always stay that way. Just like now, I'm almost done with the beef stew I prepared for our dinner. I guess the perks of having a chef boyfriend can really fix your poor cooking skills. This might be one of my achievements in life, knowing how to properly cook a decent meal. Kudos to me!
Anyhow, I'm feeling kind of giddy right now, as my bubbly giant is here since I can hear his usual upbeat voice calling my name. He's probably exhausted from feeding his loyal customers. So I might as well put down this ladle and turn the stove off because the man I love was waiting for me in the foyer. In my eager steps, I hurriedly run to the door and greeted him. Adam took me in his arms and greeted me with a kiss. "About time," we both said with a smile that's meant only for us to keep.
