With Luz and Amity spending more time together since becoming girlfriends, Eda took it upon herself to start spending time with her partner, Raine Whispers. On this particular night, Luz was going to be staying over at Blight Manor. Since Eda felt like having a change of scenery after being stuck in the owl house for so long, she decided to stay with Raine. The two of them were cuddled up on Raine's sofa laying in each other's arms. There was silence, but it was a warm silence. Two lovers simply enjoying each other's company. What could be better? But their time was cut short when Raine heard a faint knock coming from the door. "I'll be just a moment." Raine made their way, opened the door and the BATTS where there.

Katya explained their situation, "Boss, we've just been informed of some wild witches trying to make their way through the pipe beneath the city. We'd help them ourselves, but you know the place best. We know you and the Owl Lady wanted to spend the night together, but-" Katya was then interrupted, "No, I'll be right there." Raine headed over back to the couch to see their beloved partner drifting to sleep. Raine grabbed their violin, put on their mask and the most important part, saying goodbye to Eda. She opened her eyes and was alarmed to see Raine wearing their bat mask, "Going somewhere, Rainestorm?" she smirked. Raine blushed slightly, "Uh...I'm just gonna lend a couple of witches a hand to escape through the pipe." Eda shrugged, "I'd come, but for once I actually don't feel like going on any thrilling adventures." Eda stretched her arms and yawned, making Raine laugh slightly. They found tired Eda to be rather cute. "Ok, I'll leave you to rest." Just as Raine was about to leave, they felt something gently grab onto their hand. "Be careful." Raine kneeled down, lifted their mask up and kissed their partner on the forehead. "I'll be back soon, my love." Eda could feel heart beat ever so quickly, her mind had a rush of warmth, that same feeling that graced through moments of her past. The days when Raine was her love and she was theirs. Days that could've lasted longer, if only she had let them stay...

It had been about 20 minutes since Raine had left and all of sudden Eda felt very energetic and awake, so she took it upon herself to explore Raine's place. It was tidy, which was very much expected of Raine. They always did like everything in a certain way and in a certain place. No one was allowed to mess around their stuff, but that didn't apply to Eda. Raine knew Eda well enough to know where she'd misplace Raine's things. They didn't mind cleaning up after her at times, it was what came with loving Edalyn Clawthorne. For everything she was, for every flaw and imperfection, Raine loved all of her. As Eda was exploring, she came across a large cupboard with loads of junk. Guess Raine wasn't as organised as she thought. Her eyes were drawn to a small box decorated with carvings. Eda's eyes widened when two letters caught her gaze, "E and R." Wow, that brought back memories. She took the box, opened it and it was almost like she had opened the door to a beautiful garden full of life and love. It was just like her and Raine's love for each other. Never boring, always full of excitement. Eda recognised everything in the box, from photographs of them together to gifts that she had given them. However, there was one thing she didn't recognise and that was a letter intact inside a brown envelope with her name written in pretty golden ink.

Eda opened the letter and started to read it to herself,

My Dearest Edalyn,

A few years have gone by since I said those words, "I'm sorry Eda, its over." Words that still haunt me, even today. Things are changing for me every day, joining the bard coven has certainly been interesting but it doesn't compare to the meaningful days I spent with you. I long to know how you're doing and to see you once again, but it seems you've gone into hiding. I wouldn't even know where to send this letter, but it feels good to get all this out. The words left unsaid on that fateful day. It was never the curse that caused me to end things, but it was a curse in itself that we had to end things the way we did. If you ever decided to just run into my arms and say, "Raine, I'm sorry for pushing you away. I'll tell you everything about my curse and we can be together once again." I would've said yes in a heartbeat. In would've waited an eternity for you and I still would. No one can love you like I do Eda and no one could ever replace you. I may have told you that we should see other people, but could there truly ever someone else? Another Eda? Another Raine, did anybody have what we had. It hurts to even write that word, had. What I say that we had, we should still have. We don't deserve this, we shouldn't be apart. We should be together and deep in my heart I know that time will come. I will wait as long as it takes for you to be honest with me and say that you love me, because I never stopped loving you.

I'm still waiting for you,

Raine

Eda's hands were shaky, tears ran down her face. She held the paper away from her face making sure that her tears wouldn't wet the paper. Eda buried her head into her hands and let her excess pain out that she had been keeping in for years. Her mind was filled with what ifs. 'What If I just let them help?', 'What if I told them the truth?', 'What if I put up a fight on the day we ended things?', 'What if I was never cursed?' The questions she had felt like a never ending spiral and it overwhelmed her greatly. Just then, Raine returned from their outing. They headed back to couch, but there was no Eda. Raine began to worry, 'No, she wouldn't leave? Would she?' they thought to themselves. Raine then heard faint sobs coming from a cupboard, they opened the door gently and saw Eda on the ground crying. "Eda?" Raine put down their belongs and rushed over to comfort their partner. Eda couldn't bring herself to speak, she just shakily held up Raine's letter. Raine gasped at what they had saw, a flood of memories rushed through their mind simply just by seeing the letter that they were going to give Eda, but never did. Raine kneeled down and opened their arms, holding Eda close to them. It pained them to see her this upset, but it was clear to them that this was something she had been meaning to let out for a long time. "I wish I told you to stay! I wish I wasn't afraid of hanging on to you! I wish that...I didn't let you go."

Raine could feel their eyes slowly tear up, hearing Eda say this, hearing it now, it broke their heart. This was never supposed to happen, they were meant to be happy together, but that was in the past. They're together now, even if it took them years to find each other. It's all ok now. "Eda, I'm not going anywhere. What happened between us then doesn't matter now. I loved you then and I still love you now, so don't cry Eda. Actually, no, just get it all out and I'll be here to comfort you and to listen. All I ask is that you tell me anything that's bothering you, especially if it's about us, promise?" Eda looked up at her beloved partner and smiled, "I promise."
