/ This Story takes place after Season 2 of the anime and is written by someone who has never read any of the manga so spoilers. I think this will likely not line up with the manga so it's my own version of what happens after Season 2 ended and a possible springboardfor any future Beastars stories I write. /

Legoshi sat by himself in the canteen, he liked doing that. He found being a wolf of few words most herbivores avoided him out of fear while the carnivores would whisper about him. He unpacked his lunch with a sigh. It was no secret by this point he was dating Haru, the small rabbit who was known around the school as… Generous, at least that was one of the nicer ways to put it.. It was almost unheard of for a big wolf to be attractive to such a small creature and his big wolf ears could pick up mutters of "Weirdo" and "pervert" now and then. He didn't like the rumours going around about him but they were hard to disprove and harder still not to hear when it felt like everyone had a say on it. The main two going around is that he was planning to devour Haru, an idea which made him sick to his stomach when he had trained so hard so that would not be the case. And the other was that he was so desperate as no other carnivore had said yes to an offer of a date. This rumour didn't hit quite so hard, at least this rumour didn't pin him as a killer, just a loser. Legoshi could understand why the herbivores were shy of him. He was a big wolf and it was just nature for them, however what he found harder to explain was why the other carnivores disliked him and made up the rumours. He had always tried to fit in however often his social anxiety would kick in when he started to talk. His mind would begin racing with what he wanted to say and how he could be taken by others. By the time he started to talk the other person had given up and walked away. He opened his mouth and chomped down onto the egg sandwich in his hand. Egg was his safety net. No matter what anyone else said while eating egg he was safe.

Haru sighed as she sat down next to Legoshi, he was eating his egg sandwiches again and she knew from experience that no matter how much he loved her, eggs came first. She wasn't sure if it was a show of power or if the silly wolf she was mad about literally got overpowered by the taste. She didn't mind too much however and just unpacked her lunch next to him, she knew he would wake up once he finished his egg and would see her. She also heard the rumours which were going around but as they were mostly focused on Legoshi and she was so to nasty rumours she didn't let them worry her. She did however worry for her friend, she knew that while physically he was strong emotionally he was weak. Her mind flashed back to when he had been training to stop himself not eating meat and while stressed he had decided they should get married, paranoid she was dating someone else. She laughed about it now but it hurt at the time. Once Legoshi had returned to school, after a bit of persuasion from her, and told her all about his fight, louis and his training, yet again after she persuaded him to tell her, she had been mad at him. Not only had he done all these crazy dangerous and stupid things but he had the nerve to hid it from her like she was a child. It wasn't something she was unused to but she was not used to Legoshi doing it. Their relationship had been a bit rocky for a while after but things were looking up. He had promised her he would no longer keep any secrets. Haru wasn't uncaring and after so much time away from him while he had been distant from her she realised just how much she did love him, despite his flaws which drove her crazy at times. Just then she looked up and saw Legoshi staring at her like he had seen a ghost.

Legoshi jumped, he had just finished his egg sandwich and all of a sudden haru was here. He panicked, she was so good at sneaking up on him. His mind was racing. Did she think he was being rude? How long had she been there? Was she still mad at him for everything? Was she talking to him today? Should he say something? Or-

"Hey Legoshi, how's the sandwich?" She asked with a soft smile. His mind went blank as a wave of calm washed over him, his look of panic turning into a bit of a goofy smile. She had such a good way of calming him down and he doubted she even knew she was doing it. He struggled for a few more seconds to find the words.

"Um y-yeah, its...good" Wow, such a great way to start a conversation. Haru chuckled. "I mean um… how's your lunch?" Haru looked down at hers, it was a salad, a bit basic but a nice meal all the same.
"Mine's good, you're having egg again?" she asked in a bit of a tease. He gulped and just nodded, feeling a blush rush to his cheeks. She smiled and started eating her own lunch. He could hear the whispers around them grow louder but he tried to tune them out.
"That obvious huh?" He asked shyly.

"Yep, you got completely lost in egg sandwiches, maybe you were a chicken in another life" Haru teased softly. Legoshi chuckled a little as he took another bite, this time keeping himself aware of his surroundings.

"Who knows?" he said with a smile. Now that he was trying to keep aware of what was around him he could hear the whispers and mutters from the students all around him.

"What the hell man, a wolf and a bunny?" "What do you think they are talking about?" "Probably trying to sweeten her up for devouring" He felt his heart rate increase as he looked around and saw a lot of eyes on him. The whispers were getting harder to ignore and suddenly he bolted up out of his chair.

Haru gasped as she saw him stand up so suddenly.

"Legoshi?" she asked, this wasn't like him, what was even more unlike him was the fact he just quickly walked off without saying a word. She looked around and saw everyone was looking at them and put two and two together. In all the time they had known each other Legoshi had always been shy however he seemed to become more shy around her. She knew he had no intentions in harming her, he had so many chances to do so and had only ever once done anything and that was on that night they met. She saw he left his egg sandwich half eaten in his panic. She picked it up and carefully placed it into her lunch bag and got her phone out. With a soft ping she sent him a text. She only needed to say 2 words to know if she understood the issue.

"Stares again?" There was a pause which she took to eat her salad and have a look around the canteen. Most people were no longer interested now he was gone, though the normal stares she got remained. She was used to it, it came with her reputation, however she sometimes forgot that legoshi was used to hiding in the shadows and how stressed he got with all the rumours. A simple and sweet reply came back.
"Yes, sorry" She chuckled softly, he was always saying sorry, it was a little tiring but she had to admit it was a little charming. She stood up slowly and picked up her lunch bag.

"stairs, now" was all she texted as she walked out of the canteen.

When Legoshi arrived at the stairs he saw her. He was blushing a little. A big wolf like him, meant to be brave, had run out of a school canteen over some people staring at him. He was also worried about what Haru thought. It was hardly the first time it had happened; however he had never felt the need to run as much as he did at that moment. It had felt like for once he was the prey.

"Hey Haru…" he called out febaly.

"Hey legoshi, mind taking a seat? I wanted to talk to you" He nodded slowly and sat down next to her, leaning forward so they were both at the same eye line so as not to scare her.

"It's about that isnt it" he said softly almost in a whisper. "I'm sorry if I… embarrassed you back there I-" but he was cut off by Haru smiling and pushing his egg sandwich into his mouth.

"Oh be quiet you big softy, I'm not mad at you, you just left this in the canteen and I wanted to return it" she said with a laugh. He let the smell of the egg consume him. He had egg and he had haru and that's all he needed to be happy in that moment. He took the sandwich from her softly and bite another bit off it softly befores she next spoke.

"Better?" He could only nod, he felt very silly with himself. "Good, you scared me a bit back there-" and here came his panic again.

"O-oh no, sorry did I get up too fast?" he raced to say but she just laughed.

"No silly, I was worried about you, I have never seen you look so scared, I have seen you fight people organised crime bosses with less fear in your eyes…" he gave a soft giggle at that. " Want to talk about it? He sighed, she was right of course.

"I guess… I just… home in on all those people muttering and whispering about me… about us… it all gets a bit much." She listened carefully but then spoke.

"You know I get where you're coming from… but surely nothing they are saying about you is worse than what they say about me?"
"Well I guess not but that's not the point" Haru furrowed her brow.

"Ok then what is the point? If you're not upset at what they are saying, why do you let it get to you so much?" Legoshi sighed, Haru was wonderful and she seemed like she understood him when no one else did, however even she had times she didn't understand him.

"Its not that simple…" he started but Haru cut him off.

"But it is! Look I get it, I get stared at a lot, I have my whole live, the rumours never end"

"Exactly!" Haru gasped. Leogshi even shocked himself, he rarely raised his voice and never at Haru. "I… oh my Haru I am sorry… it's just…" He could not think of what the right words were. She would be scared of him now, angry maybe, and all because he didn't know how to explain it to her, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath, ready for her to run away or to shout back… and that's when he felt her hugging him?

Haru clung tightly to his chest. She had never meant to upset him, she loved him after all even if she could have been more affectionate, a flaw she never had but rarely had the willpower to actively improve herself. It was a flaw born out of her circumstances but here and now she would fix that, even if just breifly. She of course was a little scared of him shouting at her, his jaw open and looking angrily, his sharp teeth showing her exactly how she looked but it was what she needed in that moment to understand what he meant by "Exactly". She was used to the rumours and stares and he wasn't. That's why the content of them didn't matter, what was stressing legoshi wasn't so much that people were talking about him dating her and more that people were showing so much interest in him at all!

"I'm sorry" she whispered into his big furry ears as she clung to him for support. "I finally know what you mean"
"No...I am sorry, I never meant to shout" he replied. Her heart was racing, being so close to him on top of how scared she had been in that second had set her heart off like a bomb but she didn't care. Legoshi needed her support now and she would push through her own fear to give him it. She could feel in his chest his heart was also racing to.

"Do you want to meet up here more often?" she asked quietly. Legoshi nuzzled her ears softly before letting out a soft.

"Sure, if you want to" They had been in the same bed together, they had been in a kidnappers' lie together and yet, in this quiet moment was the closest they had ever felt.
