Kae Membrana: There is a lot of lore about the origin and role of Luffy being in this world. LOTS more, so look forward to that!
So I finished editing one of my crossovers. At the moment there are three that are finished, and one that is not edited yet. There's still a bit to go of my current crossover stories, but what would you like more:
choice 1: young Luffy in the beginning being friends with Hawks, overpowered and with most of the story focused on characters from OP that are at a school that isn't UA. (60,000 words or so)
choice 2: Stars Ace, Sabo, Marco and Midoriya. Ace is homeless and uses his shapeshifting quirk to pretend to be an adult to live comfortably. He goes to UA and ends up with a lot of health problems that interfere with hero life. Focus is mostly outside of UA. Has fluff, family and drama. (130,000 words or so)
choice 3: (unedited) Luffy was tortured when he was little and since then is insecure, traumatized and mute, but wants to be a hero anyways and does his best to function normally, even if it's extremely hard. Lots of angst! Exclusively one piece characters, no MHA ones. More of an AU I guess than a crossover. (102,000 words or so)
Please give me your choice! Enjoy~
When they went back home, Luffy checked on the police station and he finally saw people doing something. A line of heroes, top pro-heroes, stood, being briefed. He and his pack watched and listened while also working on their math homework, multitasking like legends.
It was night time when the heroes acted, leaving the building. He locked the window on All Might, a new skill. He could lock the view on someone, following them around. They headed to the pub, the location Luffy had given them. The three stopped doing their homework and watched the scene.
He switched the view to lock on Shigaraki, who was at the bar counter, bent over. Kurogiri was behind the bar. He watched them react to the door being knocked on. Shigaraki jumped and backed up to the wall, shaking.
"Damn, you really did a number on him," Zoro said. They nodded and watched as the door flew open and he screamed. Kurogiri started to make a warp to get them away, but Luffy acted, not going to let them get away. He put his palm on the window, his powers working just long enough to freeze him in place to be knocked out. He released his hold.
Shigaraki was trying to fight back, and Luffy decided to help. He formed a tiny hole portal next to his ear.
"Shigarakiiii," he hissed, voice high pitched in practice. "You'll never be safe." The portal disappeared when he covered his hands over his ears. He lost control of his powers and they were all shocked, the heroes inside as well, when he dissolved the sides of his face, his ears crumbling.
He screamed and fell to his knees. "No more! No more voices!" He was detained easily, Kurogiri as well. It was pathetic, and Luffy grinned. He gave highfives to his friends, all of them laughing.
"That's what you get for attacking my friends!" Luffy shouted, though nobody on the other side could hear him. He locked it on Shigaraki, who was rendered unconscious. The view followed him to the prison, not even waiting to go to the police station. He was brought to the prison all his other members were at.
But All Might and Gran Torino stayed behind. Luffy didn't know what they were doing, and just followed Shigaraki until the car was flipped suddenly. Luffy gasped in shock. Another villain had arrived. His voice was that that they heard over the TV screen multiple times.
He sounded disappointed in the cowering and mentally unstable Shigaraki. The guy broke his cuffs. But Shigaraki did nothing, just curled into a ball on the street. Then All Might was there, and a huge and desperate fight came about. It was intense, and the three watched with rapt attention. Shigaraki did not react to anything.
The police tried to detain him, but he whipped his hands around frantically. He couldn't hear anything it seemed. After all, he dissolved his ears and some of his face. Luffy couldn't terrorize him anymore. Or could he?
"Should I mess with him again? To make him curl up in a ball again?" Luffy asked, looking at Zoro and Sanji. The former said he was deaf now. Luffy grinned. "He can still feel things. Like a huge clawed hand grabbing his back?"
Zoro said it was worth a try, if it would get him to stop fighting. Luffy morphed, knowing Marco wasn't there. But damn, he didn't follow his directions and messed with him again. But he did the tip! And was helping the heroes. Luffy turned into beast form, and opened a portal just big enough for his thick hand.
He stuck it through and grabbed his back, making his shriek, and whip around. The arm moved towards him. He tried to dissolve it, worrying all three before it healed over immediately. "No! You're not real!" he screamed and hunched over, the arm disappearing. It looked like the police didn't see it, since it was a deep black and it was night time. Plus, Shigarkai had been blocking the view.
He fell onto his butt and scooched away from where the arm had been. Luffy formed a portal underneath him, and gripped his leg. "Ahhh!" he screamed, and actually ran to the police car. He jumped inside, hunched over and whispering "It's not real!" over and over. He was shot with a tranquilizer, and taken away while All Might battled the real bad guy.
Luffy looked at his hand, now no longer a beast, and moved it around. It was completely fine. "I feel fine. Ahaha! I win! I win!" He jumped up and danced around. "I helped the heroes! I made him turn himself in!" Well, he was done messing with him. He would be in prison now, forever. All Might was having a hard time against the main villain.
Zoro and Sanji were grinning. "You were the downfall of the League of Villains completely," Sanji laughed. "Killed their nomu and the fodder villains, incapacitated all of his members, and then scared him enough to make him run into the police car!"
Zoro said, "Man, you're scary!"
"Mwahaha! I am a demon, after all!" Luffy grinned. He plopped down, feeling great. "But I think he was already mentally damaged before I did the KO. He looked like that both times I saw him. At USJ and the mall. I just made it so much worse. I wonder what he did with the arms I dropped on him. And teeth and gums from one of the villains."
Sanji said that was disgusting. But, it did its job. "I'm jealous. I wish I could be a monst-" Luffy shoved his hand over his mouth, stopping his words. Sanji pulled it away, asking, "What the hell?"
"Sanji. Think before you speak. We know now that words affect things. You could'a just made a huge mistake," Luffy said seriously. Sanji's eyes widened and he put his own hand to his mouth. He thanked Luffy, saying he wasn't even thinking about the consequences. Zoro looked worried. "Would it really be so bad, though?"
"Yes! What if you can't control it? Remember it took me years to not morph when I slept. And I was little, you'd be huge! Don't even tempt fate," Luffy insisted. Zoro nodded in agreement. Sanji deflated, and said he was right. And he wouldn't say anything like that again.
They looked back at the window, and Luffy wanted to see two. So he did, forming one more window and locking it on Shigaraki. It didn't take too long to get to Tartarus, the biggest and most guarded prison, where no one had ever escaped. Kurogiri was in another car, with many SUVs following behind and in front.
All Might was still fighting the bad guy. "How does he see?" Luffy asked. Zoro said he had no clue, but maybe he had advanced senses, so he didn't need to see. "Maybe. But why is All Might struggling with him?"
Sanji said, "Maybe he's not as strong as everyone thought. Or this guy is just that strong, giving him trouble." They looked at Shigaraki's window. He was in the prison, in a wheelchair, locked up and confined so tightly. He was whispering to himself that it was over now. And now that he was in prison, Luffy would stop trolling him. Well, it was satisfying while it lasted.
All Might finally won, though the area was decimated and there were heroes and cops littering the ground. And All Might looked like a skeleton of himself. His muscles were gone, and all three of their jaws dropped. "The fuck happened to him?!" Sanji asked. Zoro and Luffy were shocked, too.
"I didn't think my tip would end up like this," Luffy said quietly.
Zoro immediately said, "The villains were captured. You didn't know about that guy. It's not your fault." Luffy nodded, and calmed. Zoro was right. And Marco told him it was the best thing to do. They both turned to the prison, where Shigaraki was being interrogated, but since he couldn't hear anymore after the damage he did to the inside of his ears, he was reading the questions.
If there were anymore of them. Then he was asked what he meant about the "monster".
"C-claws, dropping arms, blood. It will never leave me alone! It'll always be there… following me…" He truly sounded crazed, and the police took it that way. That he was being crazy. He was already mentally unstable from the start. He was wheeled into his cell, strapped down even more, cameras and guns focused on him from the ceiling.
The window went to Kurogiri, who was also inside his concrete cell. They would never escape. And when they looked back at All Might's scene, the enemy villain was being detained as well, unconscious or dead, neither of them knew. But if he was alive… he was scarily tough. "Glad I never came into contact with that one," Luffy said. The other two nodded.
Sanji asked, "What's going to happen with All Might? Will he go back to how he was?"
Luffy replied, "I don't know. He said 'it's your turn'. Maybe he's nominating somebody else. I wonder who…"
"What's going to happen to the world without him? He was the top hero, the Symbol of Peace. I always thought it was ridiculous to put one person on a pedestal. Things might go bad without him being seen as the guardian or whatever," Zoro said. "Well, Whitebeard will become number one."
"Pops doesn't care about that. I'm sure he'll be very sad about this. He was friends with All Might, even with the fifteen year age difference," Luffy replied. "Midoriya will be crushed," he added sadly. The other two knew that.
"You know, I was thinking about something. I forgot to ask about it. When we told everyone the quirk was contagious, Midoriya looked especially bothered, asking if Luffy gave us the wings. Then he suddenly got a quirk before school started… he can't control it, is clearly All Might's favorite, he has super strength, All Might is no longer strong… and he told somebody that it was their turn now…" Sanji said.
"You think All Might gave Midoriya his quirk?" Zoro asked. "Is that even possible?"
Sanji said he didn't know. Luffy said he wouldn't spy on Midoriya to find out. "I didn't say you should. I'm just hypothesizing. I could just be talking nonsense. But I am curious now. Luffy doesn't have a quirk, and we got the wings and other aspects from being bonded. But how would All Might have given Midoriya his powers? God damn it," Sanji suddenly hissed. Luffy asked him what was wrong. "Now I'm super curious!"
Luffy told him he would break Midoriya's trust if he got nosy. "Besides, it would be hypocritical if we spied on him to learn his secret. We have a big secret, too. Probably bigger than theirs. But still. Midoriya is our friend."
The blonde nodded, saying he wouldn't act on his curiosity. But it was there. They turned on the news, but it was useless information. They'd seen everything themselves. After their homework was done, they went to bed, wondering what would happen to their class taught by All Might. Would it be canceled? That would be terrible! And right before the provisional hero license exam, too. It would be a damper for a lot of people.
How would Midoriya react to it? If the former pro-hero did pass on his power to their friend, what would happen to him? Would his power disappear, too? Luffy had trouble sleeping, but did manage to.

"Is there a reason you keep glaring at us?" Zoro asked Tokoyami on the bus on their way to the exam area. "You've been doing it for days, now." It was the day after All Might's retirement, and they hadn't heard anything about the school's position for that.
Is this really the place to be having this conversation? Luffy asked, able to hear the conversation easily, sitting at the front of the bus with Yaoyorozu, who sat next to him immediately. She was looking at him with sparkling eyes, and Luffy felt pretty uncomfortable. But both he and Sanji were listening to what Zoro was saying, using their enhanced hearing easily.
Tokoyami didn't reply for a moment. But when he spoke, it was quiet enough that others in the bus couldn't hear, all of them talking or listening to music. "Dark Shadow has always been afraid of Luffy. Which was why he wouldn't come out at the sports festival. But when we met up after the training camp disaster, now he's afraid of you and Sanji as well."
Luffy and Sanji tensed, hoping Zoro could wiggle out of this himself. He sighed. "Is this because we all look different? I can see Luffy, if he's afraid of his appearance. But I don't know why he would be afraid of me and Sanji. We don't have horns. And our wings are bright, cheery colors."
Tokoyami looked ahead. "I don't know why he is afraid. He doesn't say anything when I ask. He just won't come out if you three are around. I'm not meaning to pry, but I still am curious. And irritated that Dark Shadow is afraid of three nice people. You've always been nice, so I just don't understand."
Zoro said, "We'll make sure to stay away from you for the exam so you can fight with Dark Shadow. We'd feel terrible if it was our fault you didn't pass. So, sorry we freak him out. I don't know why," he lied casually. Then he took a nap.
Looks like me and Sanji are part demon. If the thing was afraid of Luffy, it makes sense. He's a demon. But afraid of me and Sanji? It's lucky Tokoyami is a good guy and won't pry.
Yeah. Yaoyorozu is getting really annoying. Somebody trade with me!
I would but we aren't allowed to stand up.
I'm gonna try and nap. And Zoro left the chat.
"Uh, why do you keep staring at me?" Luffy asked. Mineta was steaming across from them, glaring daggers at Luffy. The girl seemed to notice she was staring, like she hadn't realized it.
"Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't realize. I just want to know more about you," she said. Luffy asked her if the bus was a good place to do that. She blinked and said she was stupid and apologized again. The people behind them were staring. Especially Midoriya, Todoroki, Nami and Tsu. The ones that suspected Luffy from the training camp.
And he'd worked so hard not to be recognized. He sighed and leaned back in his seat. He heard Aoyama ask Sato if he heard about the anonymous tip that started the battle, and about Shigaraki's behavior.
Luffy wondered where he'd gotten that information, as it hadn't been on the news and surely Shigaraki wouldn't have his behavior leaked from the prison. Sato said he hadn't heard of that stuff, and everyone around started listening.
"I heard he was freaking out about some monster following him around. And that arms were dropped on him out of thin air!" Luffy didn't tense, keeping himself calm despite the growing worry in the pit of his stomach. "And a huge clawed arm grabbed him when he was being arrested. He ran into the police cruiser, too."
Where the hell did he get that information?! Sanji demanded.
Don't acknowledge it. Pretend it doesn't matter to you. Don't show any sign.
I know.
"The arms were severed by the beast at the training camp! Do you think it has something to do with that?" Sero asked excitedly. "And then the monster harassed him or something? Ah, that's so cool! It made him turn himself in! Not only did it save our asses, but it got Shigaraki to get arrested!"
"But how did it know where he was? And it must have been smart, to know how to toy with the guy until he went coo-coo. Did anyone hear it speak? I didn't even get to see it at all," Kirishima said.
"Good! It was terrifying!" Nami shouted. "I wish I hadn't seen it!" Luffy was now very worried. He didn't regret saving everybody and ruining the League, but he didn't want everybody to know.
Sato said, "Maybe it was some sort of apparition. A ghost or something. It disappeared in the forest and it was searched for but nobody found anything but footprints that abruptly ended. When it passed from place to place." Midoriya said he'd worried it had eaten Luffy. "Yaoyorozu spoke to it, and it didn't hurt her. So it was only there for the villains, and once they were taken care of, it disappeared."
Kaminari said that it had been on their side, then.
"Or it could have just been after the League itself and had no reason to go after any of us," Ashido hypothesized. "And we know it wasn't after us since it didn't hurt anyone who was vulnerable. Like those passed out from the gas or when Luffy hit his head and was unconscious until Zoro and Sanji found him."
"I wonder if it will show up again, somewhere. The League has ended, so if that was why it appeared, it might have no reason to appear again," Uraraka said.
Bakugo demanded to know why it mattered. "It stole my kill! I was going to beat that freak and then it ripped his mouth open and threw him away!" They gasped. "Yeah, it only went after their quirks! That means it was smart, and had formulated a plan."
"Maybe it knew something would happen at camp and was waiting for them. Or it knew about the League members beforehand, which was why it targeted certina areas of the body. And it didn't kill anybody. Gah! I want to know more!" Kirishima shouted.
Luffy looked at Yaoyorozu, who had a completely straight face. She wasn't giving anything away, and Luffy knew Todoroki didn't even have to try to have a blank expression."
"What if it was a person with a quirk?"
"That doesn't explain how it knew where Shigaraki was. And if it was a quirk of somebody, it definitely wasn't someone who went to the camp. We were all floundering around, freaking out while it methodically incapacititaed the League without any of the teachers realizing it was even there. If they did know, wouldn't they have gone after it?" Jiro wondered.
Don't make a move.
I know. I'm trying really hard not to, Luffy replied. But they're just rambling while coming closer and closer to the truth and they don't even realize it. When will we be there, I want off the bus!
"Well, the teachers had their hands full. Maybe they could have just let it do its thing," Kirishima replied. "Using it to our advantage."
Jiro then made Luffy have to work very hard not to flinch. Not to stiffen. "I heard it speak. I wasn't anywhere near it, but I definitely heard a really deep growl."
"Oooo, what did it say?" Ashido begged.
"Something like 'I will always find you, Shigaraki Tomura'. I don't know what it was doing or how it could have been speaking to the guy. So it definitely had a grudge against the League of Villains."
Ojiro joined in the conversation, with most of the bus tuning in, and said, "I would think it was a quirk. If it could speak, it was smart. And nobody has ever seen it before. At least, not that anyone knows of."
"No, it might have flown away. It had wings, that was how it cleared the gas out. It could have flown off back to its home. Maybe it lived in the mountains. The camp was definitely not the only part of the forest," Uraraka said. "But it also was too big for the forest, and knocked down trees in its way."
Sanji finally stepped in. "I'm just glad it took care of the League for us. I was so useless, I never even saw it. I couldn't protect any of the ladies. Luffy! Why'd you have to hit your head?"
"It's not like I did that on purpose!" he threw back. "It would have been so cool to see the monster! I was more useless than you were. All tough and badass except when I hit my head," he grumbled, crossing his arms angrily. "Maybe it was a demon or something. Like, that's how it haunted Shigaraki and disappeared without a trace. Surely somebody would have seen it fly off. You guys keep talking about how huge it was," he added.
Nice.
Thanks.
"Well, we won't ever get an answer if it doesn't show up again. Now that the League is over, maybe it fulfilled its mission or something and went back into hiding. If it did target Shigaraki, then it was the one to officially end the League."
Luffy grumbled that he wanted to be the one. Since Shigaraki was after him because he pissed him off. "I didn't even get to do anything. Except when I killed the first nomu. I couldn't protect anybody like I said I would. Some monster did it for me."
Remember when you used to be unable to lie?
Ah, those were the days. When nobody noticed anything strange. When I didn't need to lie.
"Don't mind," Sero said sympathetically. Yaoyorozu looked out of the corner of her eye at him. He looked away. He wondered what she was thinking. Thankfully, they arrived at the place, ending the worrying conversation. Well, nobody besides a couple suspected him. Maybe those people were now convinced, too.
So maybe the conversation worked in his favor, who knew?
They left the bus, the trio standing together with their briefcases. "If you guys don't make it, I'll kill you," Luffy said, sounding serious.
"Yeah, yeah. Same to you," Zoro said. "If you lose it would be quite embarrassing." Luffy hit his shoulder.
"I'll never lose!" he declared loudly. "I'm undefeatable!"
Sanji grinned. "Except for a rock."
"Shut up about that!" Luffy shouted back, solidifying the notion that he hit his head and passed out at the training camp. That he wasn't the monster they were all speculating about. Damn Jiro, you weren't supposed to hear me!
Nice.
Good reaction time.
Did I miss something? Sanji and Luffy looked at him and sighed.
You missed a lot. Basically, everybody on the bus was speculating about Luffy's full demon form and were getting pretty close to the truth.
Oh. Shit.
Yeah, the two others said.
"I'm excited to fight while flying," Sanji said. Luffy told him he shouldn't rely on that. He wasn't good enough, so not to take a risk. "Shut it! I did fine." Luffy shrugged, not really wanting to argue. They were in a crowd with the other students, who were all talking amongst themselves. Zoro told them to make sure they stay away from Tokoyami.
"Yeah," Luffy sighed. Aizawa was approached by a happy looking woman, who laughed at him. Aizawa just took it, which was weird. Well, it wasn't a student he could scare. Her class members walked over, and Luffy could tell they were dishonest when they greeted them excitedly. Sounding friendly.
"You sure seem friendly. For a liar," Zoro said in a flat voice, startling the guy. "It's easy to tell when someone is actually smiling, and when it's a front. See you in the ring, huh?" he asked, crossing his arms and looking down at him. He bristled and walked away with the others of his class.
"Zoro, don't be so disrespectful," Aizawa said.
"Sure," Zoro said halfheartedly. He walked inside, Luffy and Sanji running after him. Aizawa demanded to know where they were going. "She told them to go get dressed. Shouldn't we get dressed, too?" he asked, the disrespect gone from his voice.
Aizawa sighed and told them all to get changed and meet in the entrance hall where the directions would be given. The three went inside, the rest of the class following after. "Zoro, you can't show you're upset," Luffy said.
I'm angry about them figuringing it out! They can't find out, they can't treat you like a monster. I won't let them.
It's fine right now. Try not to panic or grow so angry.
I won't let you cry.
Sanji closed his eyes and sighed. Luffy looked at Zoro in surprise before he looked down. "I'm not weak anymore. I won't cry."
"Liar…" Zoro whispered. They went inside and changed, helping Luffy into his costume. He didn't complain again. About them being able to dress easily and he still needed help. The rest of the class entered the dressing room, and Nami asked if they were okay. They seemed sad. And Zoro seemed angry.
"It's nothing. I didn't mean to be so rude. I just dislike dishonest people."
Irony alert.
Luffy held in a laugh. It was totally hypocritical, but neither of the others said anything to counter it. The class told them they could just defeat that guy and then move on. Zoro nodded, and Luffy smiled. This should be fun. Aizawa came up to Zoro and told him he wasn't allowed to use his blades.
"I never get to use them."
Aizawa said, "Because you could kill someone. Not everyone is a Luffy or Sanji." Zoro said he understood. None of the other students heard that. They went to the room that was packed with students already. They were all crammed together uncomfortably. They had to stand there for a good ten minutes, being crushed by others, some of which smelled terrible, before the speaker came.
A tired man who meandered a lot, mumbling quite a bit. Zoro was becoming impatient. Luffy nudged his arm. Don't be so cranky.
I can't help it. He's taking forever! I just want to beat some people already.
Be patient, jesus, Sanji huffed.
So, after a long speech, they knew the rules of the first round. They would have three targets on their bodies. Everyone would have six balls to get two other people out. If you got two people out, you passed. Should be easy for them, they have incredible reflexes, not all just from the demon bond. They were already very fast at reacting. Sanji and Zoro, that is. Luffy's was probably because of what he was.
Luffy raised his hand, having to reach on his tip toes, surrounded by tall people. Zoro lifted him up just enough for his hand to be seen. "Yes?"
"Is there a limit of only two people getting out? Or can you go for more?" he asked.
"There is no limit to how many you can get out, no," the tired man said. "Now put your targets on and get ready to start." Luffy put his on his sides, where the wings could move to shield. Zoro and Sanji did the same. They were never told they couldn't use their quirks as shields. They walked back to the class, maneuvering through the crowd.
People were glaring at Luffy. "Luffy, you pissed off a lot of people with that question," Kirishima laughed. Luffy said he didn't want to get in trouble for breaking rules. He took off his shoes and put them at the wall. He turned them into claws, his fingers doing the same. "Man I'd hate to be anyone else."
Luffy beamed. "I want to have fun!"
Once the roof opened, they found they were already in the ring. Luffy asked if they all wanted to stick together or branch off. Midoriya said they should stick together. "Okay! Then we'll be back, soon!" Luffy said as the three of them flew out. Zoro found the liar and nailed all his targets in one throw. He gave him a shark's grin.
"Better luck next time," he said and then flapped his wings so the guy went flying away. Zoro nailed another one, so hard he was knocked backwards. "I win. Hurry up, both of you."
"I'm doing a challenge. Go help everyone else." Luffy sprinted to the nearest ground, out of sight before he took one ball and zoomed through the crowd, hitting each of their targets with one ball, getting close enough to touch them.
Nine people were out, and Luffy still had all of his balls. "Beat that, Sanji!" he called as he ran back to the group, who were running into trouble. He saw Sanji kick two people down with one swipe and jump on top of them to get them out without throwing a single ball.
He joined the main group again. "Okay! We're back up, now," Luffy said cheerfully. "Let's go all out! UA won't be defeated."
This pumped them up and everyone ran forward, though they were separated by someone who was very angry at Zoro for getting his friends out. He brought up the ground, separating all of them. Luffy flew at him. "Did you forget we have wings?" he asked, and did a twirl, kicking him in the face and throwing him far away before flying after him and getting him out with one ball.
Luffy beamed and helped out his team mates until the entire arena exploded, throwing everyone in different directions. The explosion was black, and Luffy slammed into a broken rock, skewering him all the way through.
