I finished another crossover! Literally wrote 168,000 words in 2 weeks. Well, now we all know I have no life outside of writing lol. Haven't done a crossover with dragons, and I do love those. Ace is part dragon and has to grow up with people hating him for it. half of it is his childhood. Then he has the hero issues and all. Most of it is original content, but I did weave in some manga plot, so I won't post it for awhile. Though it would be forever before I could post it since MHA comes out in seasons. It was so fun to write it, omg.
"Hawks!" Luffy shouted when he saw the red feathers attacking the drones, getting inside of them and ruining them from there. The number two pro-hero arrived. "Yo! Come with me, we got a safehouse made for you!" Hawks called. Sanji was still in Luffy's hands while Zoro and Sanji followed Hawks. He was going incredibly fast, but the two monsters could follow him.
They flew over the ocean and to an island near Fukuoka. It was one that had nothing on it, but there was one building. Hawks landed and ushered the three inside. He gave Zoro and Luffy clothes, which Luffy gladly put on. Sanji was breathing heavily, and said, "That was terrifying."
Hawks walked forward and hugged Luffy. "We're so glad you're okay. Everyone has been looking for weeks, and Marco finally found you." Luffy had tears down his eyes before he started crying loudly. Zoro and Sanji were there.
"Will they be okay against Blackbeard? His quirk is scary," Sanji said, rubbing Luffy's back.
"The Whitebeards have been heroes much longer than Blackbeard has been a villain. I have no doubt they'll be okay." Zoro asked if everyone was okay at the provisional license exam. "A… a lot of kids died. Three from your class."
The trios' faces crumpled. "Who was it? Who died?" They prayed it wasn't Midoriya, that he didn't get killed for being awake and alive. That Blackbeard was lying. He had to be! But… three of their classmates were dead. Please, not Nami or Usopp.
"Koda Koji, Aoyama Yuga, and Midoriya Izuku," Hawks said sadly. Luffy fell to his knees, and screamed. He'd been holding it in for so long. Zoro crouched down and hugged him tightly. Midoriya was dead because of them. They were all dead because of them.
Sanji asked how they died. They had to know if it was Blackbeard's doing. "Koda was crushed, Aoyama was impaled by rocks and Midoriya sustained a brain injury that killed him a couple hours after the explosion." They all were shocked, and Luffy's screams cut off, even if they had grown less shrill.
"Blackbeard didn't kill Midoriya?" Zoro asked quietly. Luffy was still crying over his friend's death. They didn't know Koda or Aoyama very well. Midoriya had just gotten his quirk, and was having a bright future. He was finally going to become a hero.
"He had a brain injury, so no, he wasn't murdered. It's not your fault, any of you," Hawks said sincerely. They were silent, even in their heads, as they reflected on the nightmare. A lot of people had died in the explosion. But Midoriya wasn't murdered. But hitting your head, it sounds so trivial until it isn't.
It was two hours before someone else came, opening the door. It was Marco. He ran forward and hugged Luffy tightly, crying into his neck since he was so much shorter. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry we didn't get there sooner." Luffy gripped his back tightly. "Everyone is okay. Blackbeard is dead, and Germa 66 employees and leaders are fugitives. It all worked out.
"Let's bring you three home," Marco finished. The three of them nodded, looking down. "This is not your fault." They didn't nod again. This time the group flew in human form, Marco in front of them and Hawks behind, as bodyguards for the tired and emotionally exhausted kids. Zoro touched his neck where he knew the implant was, could feel a small bump, and dug a new claw into his neck, ripping it and some skin out. It healed over. Sanji couldn't do it, as he didn't have claws since he hadn't gone full monster. It would be surgically removed, probably.
They landed at home, and Luffy was hesitant to go inside. "Luffy, what's wrong?" But he saw people walking around. Many seemed injured, but Luffy saw and smelled no dead bodies. He slowly walked in, and headed to the kitchen, peeking his head around the corner. "Luffy?"
"They made me see, made me have a fake memory. Everyone was dead and piled in the kitchen," he said quietly. Marco walked up to him and told him everybody was alive. Then Ace and Sabo saw him and attacked him with watery hugs, both sobbing about being worried, their only baby brother, their angel. He cried too, and apologized for scaring them.
Whitebeard walked over, arm in a cast, but with the bisento back in it's display case. "Son, Blackbeard has been an enemy since before you were born. It's not your fault." Luffy said he said he was the one to summon Luffy. "It was one of his underlings, not him himself. Go get some rest, my son. You deserve it. All of you do. Then we will talk once you are rested."
They nodded, and went upstairs via the elevator. But they didn't go to their own rooms, they slept scrunched in Luffy's room, Zoro having dragged his mat into Luffy's room so they all fit in certain positions.
They would be close until they were sure they weren't dreaming, they weren't hallucinating. So, when they woke up hours later, and found they were no longer in the blinding white room, they smiled and sighed. But they lost the smile. "What do you think will happen to us now?" Luffy asked.
Zoro and Sanji both shrugged. Sanji then said, "Somebody had to have heard what Blackbeard said, or saw Luffy be run through a spike and heal just fine. They were silent when they heard the front door open. They walked out of the room and saw Marco there, taking his shoes off.
"Hey. Did you guys get some rest?" They nodded. Marco gestured to the living room. They sat on the couches or the floor. "I've contacted both of your families. Sanji, your mother doesn't know about Germa's involvement yet. Zoro, your mom is quite frankly a mess. I think both of you should go see them, but come back."
Sanji looked down. "Does everyone know? About what we are?"
Marco looked down. "There were many kids dead or unconscious, but there were also many awake. So yes, the information has spread. But there were still tons of heroes looking for you three, regardless of how Blackbeard made you sound. You will have to prove you are not monsters. Maybe calling you a demon was not the best choice," he sighed.
Sanji asked what would happen to them now. Would they still be allowed to go to school? What happened to everyone else? Were they back at school?
"We have to talk to principal Nezu about that. Aizawa did everything he could to find you three. Taking time off work to do so. I'm sure he'd be glad to hear from you, that you're safe again. The school feels responsible. Again, a villain attacked their students. Maybe not the same villains as before, but still," Marco explained.
Luffy was shocked but felt warm inside that Aizawa cared for them that much. He had been so understanding about their situation, and hadn't pried too badly. Marco scowled. "I know this would have happened no matter what school you went to, but it feels like school is the most dangerous place for you. All three of you now. You two… Zoro isn't human anymore, and Sanji is definitely part demon."
Zoro sighed, and looked at his hands, showing his new claws. They were so sharp. "I assumed something like that would happen. When I transformed to protect Luffy." He lifted his shirt to show more markings, though they weren't spots or anything trivial. It was black, still, and snaked around his chest. They looked cool.
Luffy lifted his shirt, showing he had the same. Sanji didn't.
Luffy asked, "What does the government think? Are they thinking we're dangerous? Even though we haven't hurt anybody innocent and killed nobody?"
Marco leaned back into the couch and clasped his hands on his lap. "There's an uproar and a lot of debate about how the public sees you three. There are those that recognize you three have never don't anything villainous, even if Luffy had cut off the arms of the League of Villains. Then there are those who are afraid of the unknown you three represent."
Sanji sighed and said, "So basically every situation when the unknown happens? What would they think if we spoke publicly about it? Explained our situation."
Marco said he wasn't sure. "But the fact that you three have grown up with us makes you more trustworthy in the eyes of most of the pro-heroes. To be honest, I'm worried about your safety. With everyone knowing about you guys, other villains may want you, try to turn you evil or something stupid like that."
Luffy asked, "Then can we not go anywhere?"
The phoenix shook his head. "Pops gave me a new mission to stay with you guys wherever you go. I know it'll be annoying, but I'll do my best to not make it too bad. My mission is to protect you, even if you don't need it. Blackbeard had a very, very troublesome quirk. He only captured you, he didn't win in a fight."
Sanji sighed and said it was a better deal than being trapped at the agency. It was their new home, but staying there every minute would be exhausting and might make things tense. Luffy turned to his friends, and apologized for being weak. And thanking them for being understanding and caring with him. "I should have trusted you, that they didn't all die. It was just so real. I smelled it, and stepped in it barefoot. Everything felt so real, and I was tricked."
They smiled sadly and Zoro said, "It's not wrong to be upset about thinking your loved ones are dead. We understood that, so we didn't push you." Sanji nodded. Zoro looked back at his hands. He took his shoes off, too, and showed his feet could turn into claws. But unlike Luffy's black hands and feet, Zoro's were a darker green than his wings and hair. "I wonder why I didn't get the horns or a tail."
"I forbade it," Luffy replied. "Though it doesn't really matter if everyone knows anyways." He looked down, ashamed. Zoro said he was fine with that. It was Luffy's thing, made him unique and he may be a demon, too, now, but Luffy should be individual. "Marco? Do you think I could have been used for evil?"
Marco said he was sure everyone could be. Anyone could be led astray. "But you weren't, and I'm confident you'll never be."
Sanji spoke up and asked, "Can you do surgery on me? We all got chipped. Luffy and Zoro's tore theirs out." Marco looked outraged, maybe for multiple reasons. Because they were chipped and because they ripped them out themselves. "I'll do surgery, let's do it as soon as possible. Before you two see your moms. And I'll be going to, for safety purposes."
Zoro and Sanji both nodded, and they went to the infirmary. Luffy asked to be left alone for a bit, and so they left him by himself in the flat. He moved Zoro's mat back to his room and curled up on his own, under the covers. He felt terrible. He was glad Midoriya wasn't murdered by a psychopathic villain. But he still died.
So did Aoyama and Koda, and tons of other kids. He didn't know how many casualties there were, though. He formed a window at school, looking at his class. They were subdued, even though it had been many weeks since what happened. Uraraka, Iida, Todoroki, Nami and Usopp all looked the most heartbroken.
Luffy wanted that to end. He couldn't wait, but wasn't supposed to leave the agency, so he couldn't go out of the portal. He opened a large one, sitting in front of it. He opened it so he was seen, sitting next to Aizawa. "We got rescued. We're all safe at the Whitebeard agency. We're sorry to worry you."
The class was silent before many had tears in their eyes. Nami got up and ran to him to try to hug him, but bounced off of the portal. "Sorry, it only lets me, Sanji and Zoro through. Nobody else. And we're not allowed to leave without Marco being there." Nami nodded and sat in front of him on her knees. "We're sorry about the provisional license exam. A lot of… people died because the villain wanted to get to us. I keep ruining things. First the camp and then that," Luffy said quietly.
"It's not your fault, Luffy," Aizawa said. "Nobody here blames you."
"Still… Midoriya and Aoyama and Koda died because of that," Luffy said, his lower lip wobbling.
"Please don't blame yourself, Luffy," Nami said. Ashido asked when they were coming back, now that they were safe.
Luffy shrugged and said he didn't know. "Marco said he'll talk to the principle about it, not knowing if he wants us back. Since we could be a danger when everybody knows about it. Maybe villains would want to try something else like that again," he said with a sigh. "I'm not sorry that I lied to everyone. You can understand why, based on Blackbeard knowing and coming after us for it. And the way people are reacting to the news."
Aizawa said that Nezu hadn't considered barring them. "But it's more up to your family than us. Two school trips ended up with villains invading. One was much worse than the other, but both were still villains."
Luffy told them about Marco's new mission being their bodyguard, going everywhere with them. "He'd be there to deter villains or defeat any that come."
"Do that, and then come back! We already lost three, we can lose any more," Kirishima said loudly. Others in the room agreed loudly. "We don't care about you guys being demons or whatever you want to call it. You protected us at camp and USJ." The rest agreed again.
Uraraka said, "Deku-kun wouldn't want you to blame yourselves."
"I know. He would have gotten angry and then tried to make us happy. But it's not that easy, to just forget those feelings. It wasn't fair for everyone else to get caught up in it."
Usopp asked what happened after they were kidnapped. "After we got out of his quirk, he locked us up in one room for a couple weeks. I was a mess. They put a fake memory in my head, that we escaped but I went home and everyone was dead. Zoro and Sanji were really nice about it. We eventually got out and the Whitebeards were there and ended up killing the villain.
"Sanji's own family was behind it. His brothers and father were mad he was getting more powerful, so they helped Blackbeard kidnap us. It was a mess, to be honest," Luffy explained.
"Luffy? What are you doing?" Zoro wondered, coming from the doorway. "Sanji's surgery went off easily. Should you be doi- oh," he said when he saw who Luffy was talking to. He stayed out of view. "Marco's gonna want you to take us to our places."
Luffy nodded. "I can make another one. But Marco won't be able to get through. I should go, too." They were talking as the class listened.
Zoro told him Marco would fly there and then meet them, since he knew he couldn't get through the portal either. Luffy nodded, and Marco and Sanji came in. He said Marco would be calling him when he got there so he could go. Both of them stayed out of view, only their voices showing they were there.
Luffy turned back to the class and said he had to go. But he'd try to keep them updated. He closed it before anyone could reply. He sighed and flopped down on his back. "They say nobody blames us and that they want us to come back. Nothing will be how it was. Ever."
Zoro said, "Well, we just have to make do. There's no way to go back in time." The other two knew that was true. And Luffy felt that, if he did manifest a time traveling power, it would make things messy. At least, he'd seen and read enough stories to make him not trust time traveling.
Sanji got a message on his phone. Their things had been recovered after the explosion and kidnapping. "Okay, let me out," the blonde said. Luffy formed a portal to his house and let him through. He was nervous, and told Luffy to keep the portal open.
"But, isn't this pretty personal?" Sanji replied that he'd feel better with other people on standby. "Okay… if you want me to close it, say so at any time."
Luffy closed the door and turned it back into a window. He locked it on Sanji, as he walked through the house and to his mother. Marco could be seen outside at the front window, his back to the house.
"Mom," Sanji said. She jumped and turned around but didn't hug him. "I'm sorry I worried you. I'm safe again at the Whitebeards now. Marco will keep us safe."
She looked at the floor. "Did you want to leave because of the… thing?"
"You mean being part demon?" She flinched and nodded. "Maybe partly. But it's not because of that that I wanted to stay with my friends."
She asked if "friends'' would turn one another into demons. Sanji sighed, though he didn't seem to be surprised by this question. He replied, "Luffy didn't know it would happen. It's not his fault. Besides, it's not so bad. I can't get hurt, I heal immediately. Besides, you've known Luffy since he was little. He's not a threat anybody who doesn't try to hurt him or one of us."
His mom wasn't convinced. "If I had known then, I would have never let you be friends with him."
"Then I guess it's good you never found out until it was too late," Sanji said in an earnest voice. "Nothing you say will change me back. I'm never going to be normal again, mom. You have to accept it. Judge and those assholes were behind the kidnapping. It didn't fully have anything to do with us being not human anymore."
His mom was frowning deeply. "I didn't know anything about their plans. I even invited them over. You wouldn't have ever been in harm's way if it weren't for the child," she said. Sanji suddenly looked extremely angry.
"What did you call him? 'Child'? You probably don't care about it now, but he protected us from the League of Villains. He helped us escape the villains when we were kidnapped. He's not a child, even if he was human," he said in an angry and terse voice.
"Did he hurt our family?" she asked. "More than he already has by corrupting you?"
Sanji honestly said, "Yes. He cut their arms off and Zoro broke their legs. After they tried to kill us. I am not 'corrupted'. I wasn't lonely because of them! When you kept wanting me to talk to those assholes, they were there for me when you weren't. They're my family. I shouldn't have come here. It was a waste of time," he hissed.
She backtracked, but Sanji and the others already knew very well how she felt. "If you think Luffy's a monster, then I am, too! Zoro is, too! If you see Luffy like that, then you see all of us like that. If you can't accept the reality, I'm not going to attempt to shove it down your throat. I'm not coming back, mom. I know I'm not welcome, probably never will be.
"And I'll tell you right now. I will become more of a demon over time. I will be able to turn into a huge beast. I will be able to do other things. If you think I'm a monster, then you're no longer my mother and I'm not your kid," he said, and went to his room. "Luffy, come help me with my stuff."
Luffy and Zoro looked heartbroken for Sanji. They went to his room and Luffy opened the portal to Sanji's new bedroom, helping him bring books and furniture that will fit inside. He had locked his bedroom door. But his mom wasn't coming to try and stop him. Sanji looked sad, but not heartbroken.
"I was expecting that," he sighed. "I knew she would react badly, blame Luffy and want to pretend I'm not who I am," he said. Once all of his things were moved, he left without turning back. Luffy and Zoro were looking sad. "Do you blame yourself still?" the blonde asked Luffy.
He looked down. "No. It was your choice to stick around when we first found the changes years ago. It's her choice to not welcome you as you are. I know family should. Ace and Sabo embraced me when I was a baby demon or when I was that tiny beast with sharp claws and teeth. But you're family here, now. You've always been family here."
Zoro added, "Maybe she'll come around eventually and you can talk to her about things. She could be in shock or some shit." Sanji smiled and teased Zoro about being the nice one. Zoro bristled and crossed his arms, cheeks red. The blonde grinned and patted his back.
"Ready for yours?" Luffy asked quietly. Zoro nodded. It didn't take long for Marco to call that he was at the other's house. Luffy opened up a portal and let Zoro out. Like he had for Sanji, Luffy locked the window on Zoro. Sanji was looking a little blank, so Luffy linked elbows.
"You're loved here. Don't worry, there's plenty of room for you in this family," he said with a bright smile. Sanji's lips wobbed before he nodded, wearing a small smile even as he shed tears.
Zoro's situation seemed to be much messier. "Hey, mom," he said casually. There were beer bottles everywhere. Luffy and Sanji almost never had gone to Zoro's house when they were kids because his dad was an alcoholic and his mom was just cranky a lot of the time. He'd never asked his friends, even before they were a pack, to come over.
She jerked up and looked at Zoro before throwing an empty beer bottle at him. It hit the wall behind him, shattering and scraping his cheek, which healed over. Zoro was shocked, and Luffy had his hands over his mouth.
"The fuck?!" Zoro raged. "What was that for?!" he demanded. He walked up to her, and they could see Marco looking inside in the corner of his eye, a cringe on his face. He could hear what was happening just fine. She took the poker out of its place near the fireplace and brandished it at him. "Are you crazy?! What is wrong with you?!"
"He was right. I should have had an abortion!" she shouted, and Zoro flinched, his body going rigid before he grew furious.
"I always thought you were a bitch but never this badly! If you wanna go fuck around with a man that cheated on you six times, have fun with that! I'm done with your sorry ass," Zoro hissed. Another beer bottle was thrown at him, but he easily caught it in midair and crushed it in his hand. She backed away. "That's right, your kid is a monster. Just not the kind you would have made me into if it weren't for Luffy and Sanji. Dad was smart when he ditched. Even as a narcissistic alcoholic, he never tried to hurt me!"
He stormed into his room, and didn't take anything from his room. "Let me back in," Zoro said with a scowl. Luffy opened the portal and Zoro walked in, gritting his teeth. Neither Sanji or Luffy asked if he was alright. Luffy went to the bathroom and got a wet towel and silently took his hand, wiping the blood off along with the cut on his cheek. The towel sizzled, but the water distilled the acidic liquid a bit.
"It wasn't that bad. I never thought she loved me in the first place. I just didn't think she'd do that. Well, I don't have anywhere to go back to, so you better not throw me out," he joked. Luffy smiled and said he'd never do that. Then he said, if he ever wanted to leave, he was sure the Whitebeards would give him enough money to go anywhere he wanted and start over. "Well, they won't be wasting any money that way.
"Besides, we're only 15, can't live on our own anyways," he pointed out.
Luffy said, "I don't feel fifteen. At least, not anymore."
"We've all been through a lot. It's only natural it would change us a bit. Other than turning into demons," Sanji replied. He asked Zoro if he was sure he had no personal belongings to bring. Zoro shook his head. His room had been very bare in the first place. He didn't come from a happy home, but he tried to hide that from them, it seemed.
Luffy wouldn't pry, ask about his childhood. It didn't really matter. Not anymore, it was clear he cut off his old life, maybe long ago, but for sure now. Marco arrived not long after, their homes not far from the agency to someone with wings.
He walked in and didn't say a thing about the fights he witnessed, which was for the best. He said Thatch had baked them a ton of sweets, so they should go down and eat. "I'll schedule a meeting with principal Nezu." Luffy nodded, and told him about seeing the class. "I see. Well, hopefully they are right and you'll be welcomed back with my security."
Luffy nodded, and the trio went downstairs to the kitchen to find Thatch did indeed cook a ton of sweets. Luffy's mouth watered at the pies, muffins, lemon candies, cupcakes, fancy sweets. Everything was there.
"Dig in! It's all for you! To make up for six weeks worth of no sweets," Thatch said, giving them each napkins as they devoured everything. It was worth the stomach ache they had afterwards. Completely worth it. They were on the couches in the lounge area made for them, stuffed and moaning.
"So good, but too much," Luffy complained. Sanji agreed. Zoro called them weak. "You look sick, too, you know?" Luffy pointed out. Sanji scoffed. "That mess is over, we're home. I'm so happy they're not all dead," Luffy sighed.
Zoro and Sanji agreed.
So... yeah, Midoriya is dead. Sorry not sorry!
