Chapter 15: The Time Lord Children

The Time Lords, Lady and two human woman hung onto the TARDIS as it jerked out of control. The Doctor tried flicking switches but nothing worked.

"What the hell's it doing?" Donna asked worried.

"Controls aren't working!" The Doctor shouted trying everything lever and button.

The Fighter looked to see the Doctor's hand in the glass case bubbling "I don't know where we're going but your hand is excited!"

"I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Either way, it must mean something!" The Doctor said as the console sparked.

Donna's eyes widened "Wait, I thought that was just some freaky alien thing!" She looked to the Doctor "You're telling me it's yours?"

The Doctor shrugged while the Fighter just laughed nervously and the Master eyed the hand uninterested.

Martha called to Donna telling her what she knew about it "It got cut off. He grew another one."

Donna looked to The two Time Lords and Time Lady with her mouth wide open "You three are completely impossible!"

The Doctor grinned "Not impossible, just a bit unlikely." The three childhood friends exchanged looks smiling at each other as they turned their attention back to the still jolting TARDIS as it banged loudly giving a final jolt. The Doctor was thrown back into the jump seat, the Master caught the Fighter by her wrist as she fell on top of him and the humans girls fell to the floor.

The Doctor jumped off the seat running to the door as the Fighter grinned at the Master "Thanks." She offered her hand to help him up as they followed along with the two female humans to the door to see outside. They were in a underground tunnel littered with junk, equipment, rubble and bricks all over the dark place.

"Why would the TARDIS bring us here?" The Doctor wondered aloud as always.

The Master looked around "It looks like a war zone..." The Fighter nodded agreeing as memories of the Time War came back to her. She looked around keeping a sharp eye and her ears open like she did during the war. You have to be sharp on your toes and prepared for anything is what she learned.

As Martha and Donna talked amonst each other, the Fighter spoke "Shhh!" Everyone looked to her as she heard a sound.

"What is it?" The Doctor and Master asked.

"When it's a war zone, there's soldiers that come with it." She began pointing ahead of them as soldiers ran up towards them pointing guns at them.

"Don't move! Stay where you are! Drop your weapons!" One of the soldiers ordered them.

"We're not armed!" The Doctor told them as they all held their hands up. "Look no weapons. Never any weapons. We're safe!"

"Look at their hands. They're clean." A soldier said.

"Alright, process them! Him first!" The First solider said gesturing to the Doctor. The other two soldiers grabbed the Doctor's arms dragging him towards a strange machine. "Oi! Oi! What's wrong with clean hands?" The Doctor protested.

"Leave him alone!" The Fighter yelled running to stop them as the Master pulled her back. "Hey!" They looked back to see the Doctor's right arm forcefully shoved into the machine.

Leave him alone!" Donna joined in.

"Something tells me this isn't about to check my blood pressure..." The Doctor frowned as the machine started up and he cried out in pain "ARGH!"

"Stop!" The Fighter struggled to get out of the Master's arms as he continued holding her back observing the machine. "Don't let them do this!" She looked at the Master as he whispered to her. "There's nothing to worry about. Look closely..." She stopped struggling as she realized what he was talking about.

"What are you doing to him?" Donna demanded

"Everyone gets processed" The Solider said aiming his gun at them.

The Doctor told them "It's taken a tissue sample. Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow! And extrapolated it!" He eyed the machine "Some kind of accelerator?"

Suddenly the machine released the Doctor's arm as he stumbled backwards looking at the Y mark it left. The others ran over to him as the two soldiers suddenly grabbed the Fighter getting ready to put her arm into the machine. They looked to the doors of it as they opened with a blonde girl stepping out as a soldier handed her a gun.

The doors to the machine closed as they put the Fighter's arm into the machine. The Master walked over to her watching her protectively. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" It suddenly let go of her arm as he caught her.

Suddenly the doors to the machine opened as a black haired guy with brown eyes stepped out dressed in combat just like the girl as the soldiers handed him a gun.

"Where did they come from?" Martha asked them noticing how the childhood friends were looking at the blonde girl and black haired boy.

"From us..." The Doctor and Fighter both said.

"But who are they?" Donna asked shocked as she observed the girl and boy.

The Doctor looked to her hesitating "Well she's my daughter."

The Fighter looked to the boy as tears came to her eyes "And he's my son." She looked to the Master. This boy seemed to resemble him a little bit when he was younger back in the academy though they were in different incarnations. She couldn't believe it was possible if the machine only took a tissue sample from her. Unless, by any possible chance she was...nah that couldn't happen. It was impossible without looms.

The young girl looked to the Doctor "Hello Dad."

The black haired boy looked to the Fighter "Hello Mother." He gave a smirk as the Master and Fighter exchanged looks with each other. He looked to the Master "Hello Father."

The Fighter's face suddenly went bright red as the Master grinned at it. Oh how easily embarrassed she gets. For some reason the idea of having a child, especially a child with her seemed to make him pleased. If only it was a pure blooded Time Lord instead of a tissue sample.

The girl and the boy began following the other soldiers as they talked. They followed from behind.

Did you say daughter and son?" Donna asked.

The Time Lords and Lady nodded.

"Technically how?" Martha asked.

The Master explained "Progenation. Reproduction from a single cell organism, well it's not the case this time. But it would usually mean that one parent is biological mother and father. You take a sample of diploid cells , split them into haploids then recombine them in a different arrangement and grow. Very quickly." He gave a sigh.

"I don't care if he came from a machine or not, he is my son." The Fighter looked to the Master blushing "I mean our son. Doesn't change it."

The Doctor and Master exchanged looks.

There was suddenly a loud sound of banging up ahead as the girl shouted "Something's coming!" The black haired boy stood next to her aiming their guns towards what was coming. Purple fish with tubes with green liquid from where their mouth and nose should be were running towards them.

"It's the hath!" A soldier shouted as the girl and boy started firing at the creatures.

"Get down!" The boy called over his shoulder to the others.

"We have to blow the tunnel! Get the detonator!" A soldier shouted to the boy.

The Fighter's motherly instinct came as she tried to go stop her son "We're not detonating anything Mister!" But the Master held her back.

The boy got the detonator as the soldier shouted "Blow that thing! Blow that thing!" The boy seemed to hesitate.

Suddenly Martha was being dragged away by a Hath. The Doctor noticed "Martha!"

The Master looked over as The Fighter was watching her son as she began running towards him to stop him as he raised his hand over the detonator with a smirk as the explosion happened.

They hurried to their feet to see a roof blocking them apart from the others stopping any attempts to go save Martha.

"You sealed off the tunnel..." The Doctor groaned looking at the roof blocking them from Martha. He turned to the boy "Why did you do that?" His face suddenly changed looking at the boy in shock as if he was looking at a younger Master.

The girl next to him replied suddenly "They were trying to kill us."

"But they've got our friend!"

The boy shrugged looking like it was no big deal "Collateral damage. At least you still have them." He looked to his parents, Donna and Martha.

The girl added in gesturing to the first soldier "He lost both his men. I'd say you came out ahead."

The Fighter walked up to her son scolding him "Her name is Martha Jones! She was a human being a very long way from home, a human being not Collateral damage! And she happens to be a very dear friend of ours, which means we're going to do everything that we can to make sure we bring her home. Got it!?" The Fighter kept a stern look with the boy as he kept eye contact with her as his eyes softened a little. The girl beside him looked down in shame.

She continued talking "Now yes, things could have gone a bit worse but Martha Jones is not in any way shape or form "Collateral Damage." I've been in war you've never seen before buddy so don't give me that! They don't call me the Fighter for nothing. Do I make myself clear? Do you understand?" The boy nodded his head looking at her a bit shocked as he then looked to the ground. The Master put a hand on her shoulder smirking "That's my tiger."

"How did you do that?" Donna whispered to her.

The Fighter explained "I'm his mother, and not just because my DNA is in him, but because he also recognizes me as his mother and the Master as his father. It's the same for the Doctor and his daughter. Think about it Donna, when you were little and you did something naughty and got in trouble from your mother, didn't that just make you feel like you had disappointed her? Sometimes it's more effect with certain children if you don't shout at them but explain sternly and calm to them what they did wrong."

Donna smiled at her "You seem to know a lot about children. Do you-"

Before she could finish The Fighter's face smile turned into a sad one "Oh no. Well...My husband and I were going to have a Time Tot but I regenerated before it could happen and after I did he didn't want one anymore. But when I wasn't busy running away with the Doctor for a while and went back to Gallifrey to see my sister who had became the new Lady President, I spent my time with her but also watching the Time Tots on our planet and keeping them entertained. I even helped to keep most of them I could safe during the war. The pain of losing a child...I don't want to experience that ever again."

Donna gave her a weird look "What's a Time Tot?"

The Master explained "Time Lord children are called Time Tots until they reach the age of Eight and go to the academy. Time Tots are far advanced than human children and can start to speak before reaching age three."

Donna nodded slowly "Oh, right that sort of makes sense."

"I'm going to find Martha" The Doctor told them as he began to walk over to the roof blocking them before a soldier stopped him.

The soldier cocked his gun at him "You're not going anywhere. You don't make sense, all of you. No guns, no marks, no fight in you." He looked to the Fighter and Master "Well..." Then stopped "I'm taking you all to General Cobb. Now move!" He nudged his gun at them leaving them no choice but to follow.

The girl and boy were ahead of them side by side as Donna and The Fighter ran up to them trying to make conversation. The Doctor and Master stayed behind not interested.

Donna introduced herself to the girl and boy "I'm Donna. That's the Fighter. What's your names?"

"Don't know, it's not been assigned." The girl and boy shrugged.

"Well if you don't know that, what do you know?" The Fighter asked.

"How to fight." They replied.

"And that's all?"

The boy spoke "Isn't that all you know since your name is the Fighter Mother?"

The Fighter was a little shocked by him calling her mother again but gave a chuckle "Oh no no my dear. I know more than that. They call me the Fighter because it's the title I chose for myself. It's a vow, something that signify's who you are. Mine is I won't give up in the hard times and I'll keep fighting for the right thing no matter what."

The boy smirked to her in awe "Wow. That's cool."

"So is that all you know how to do?" Donna asked the girl and boy.

"Yes, just how to fight." They both replied.

The Doctor commented "The machine must embed military history and tactics, but no name." He was reminding himself and also the Fighter that the girl and boy weren't really their daughter or son. Something him and the Master kept exchanging looks about knowing the Fighter thought different about it. "They're just generated anomaly's."

Donna and the Fighter repeated "Generated anomaly..."

Donna turned to the girl "Hang on, that's it. Jenny! We'll call you Jenny. How do you like it?"

The girl tried it out "Jenny..." She gave a bright smile "I like it. Jenny."

"What do you think 'Dad'?" Donna asked looking to the Doctor.

He shrugged "Good as anything I suppose."

The Fighter looked to her son "and for you," She glanced to the Master grinning "You will be called Kos by everyone ok."

The boy repeated "Kos..."

The Fighter turned to the Master "What do you think dear?"

The Master was a little shocked by her calling him dear but responded avoiding eye contact with his son who was nothing more than an anomaly to him "Yeah sure. Good." He knew she got the name from his childhood name Koschei as the boy did resemble him a bit, but he didn't seem to understand how that could happen if he was nothing more than a DNA sample. Unless somehow his skin cells rubbed off on hers or something.

"Master...Doctor..." The two Time Lords looked up at their childhood friend to see she knew what was going on inside their minds. The Doctor refused to accept Jenny as his daughter as the Master refused to accept Kos as his son.

Donna added in looking to the two Time Lords "Not what you would call a natural parent, are you two?"

"They stole a tissue sample at gunpoint and processed it, it's not what I call natural parentage." The Doctor commented frowning.

"Besides they're not pure blooded, just anomaly's." The Master added in.

The Fighter put a hand on Kos shoulder "Well it doesn't change the fact Jenny is your daughter and Kos is our son. Besides...haven't you always wanted a child of your own?" She looked to the Master as his eyes narrowed a bit then looked down to the ground remaining silent. "hmm..." The Fighter looked away from him and back to Kos letting him think on the matter.

As they continued walking, they found themselves in a large room that looked like it had a theater once. It had underground camp beds with many people scattered around.

"So where are we? What planet is this?" The Doctor asked.

The solider informed him "Messaline, well what's left of it."

"But this is a theater" Donna blinked surprised. "It's like a town or a city underground. But why?"

The Doctor nodded looking around "A very good point Donna. Why come to a planet in the first place if you have to spend the rest of your life underground? The human race, you're not meant to live that way, you're suppose to live out in the bright sunlight, not stuck underground, so that does make you wonder what's going on here, doesn't it?"

An older man began to approach them as the Doctor raised his eyebrows "General Cobb I presume?"

Cobb eyed them closely commenting "Found you in the western tunnels, I'm told, with no marks. There was a outbreak of pacifism in the Eastern zone three generations back before we lost contact, is that where you're from?"

"Eastern zone, that's us!" The Fighter nodded as she gestured to the others. "I'm the Fighter, That's the Doctor, Master, and Donna."

"I'm Jenny!" The girl gave a smile looking to her father.

"And I'm Kos." The black haired boy gave a wave like his father would as the Fighter glanced at the Master grinning.

Cobb warned them "Don't think you can infect us with your peacemaking! We're committed to the fight to the very end!"

"Well that's all right. We can't stay anyway. We've gotta go find our friend." The Doctor told him.

Cobb dismissed "That's not possible. All movement is regulated. We're at war."

The Master commented "Yes you are, we can see that. And I believe this young man mentioned those creatures are called the Hath. You see, we've been a bit out of circulation with being in the Eastern zone and all. Could you tell us exactly who the hath are?"

"Follow me" Cobb told them as he led them explaining the situation "Back at the dawn of this planet, these ancient halls were carved from the Earth. Our ancestors dreamt of a new beginning, a colony where human and hath could work together."

"So what happened?" The Doctor asked.

Cobb sighed "The dream died, broken along with the Hath promises. They wanted it all for themselves. But those early pioneers, they fought back. They used machines to produce soldiers instead of colonists and began this battle for survival."

Donna tried looking outside one of the windows asking "There's nothing but Earth outside, why? Why build everything underground?"

"The surface is too dangerous" The young soldier replied.

Donna frowned "Well then, why build windows in the first place?" She pointed to a series of numbers stamped on the wall "And what does this mean?"

Cobb smiled looking at the numbers proudly "The rites and symbols of our ancestors. The meanings...lost in time." He sighed, his smile fading again.

"How long has this war gone on for?" The Fighter asked. The Time War though it felt like it went on forever wasn't actually that long at all. It wasn't long enough to forget Time Lord history.

Cobb told them "Longer than anyone can remember. Countless generations marked only by the dead."

Donna started at him shocked "What? Fighting all this time?"

Jenny spoke up "But we must. Every child of the machine is born with this knowledge."

Kos added in proudly "It's our inheritance. It's all we know. How to fight and how to die."

The Fighter shook her head "No. It shouldn't be that way. No one should ever have to know that, especially a child." Memories of how her father would keep training her telling her she should be ready for a war and should know how to fight as a young child. The duels he would have with her, all the pain he put her through as a child. Her hands turned into fists as she bit her lip "Yeah you have to be strong to survive. Life's hard and it won't go easy on you so you have to fight and never give up. Keep fighting your way to the top and do what's right, but even a Fighter, A true Fighter knows when it's the right time to fight and when it's the right time to stop as well."

Kos looked at her in awe "Wow..." The Master nodded agreeing with his son.

The Doctor looked to Cobb noticing he was starting to get mad "Ah, is there any maps that you could show us?"

Cobb nodded leading them "Over here." He led them to a device as he tapped a button and a holographic screen popped up revealing tunnels and chambers.

The Master asked as the Doctor put on his glasses "Does this show the entire city including the Hath zones?"

"Yes, why?"

"It could be our ticket to finding Martha." The Doctor said smirking to the Master.

The young soldier shook his head "We have more important things to do. The Progenation machines are powered down for the night shift but soon as they're active, we could breed a whole platoon from you three."

"I'm not having sons and daughters by some great flipping big machine!" Donna shouted then looked to Jenny and Kos realizing what she said "Sorry it's just...you're not real."

The Fighter shook her head "Not you too Donna."

Jenny glared at Donna "You're no better then them!" She pointed to the Doctor and Master "I have a body, I have a mind, I have independent thought. How am I not real?" She looked to Kos who remained silent but was agreeing with it "How are we not real?"

"What makes you better than us?" Kos suddenly said. "Just because we're not pure blooded or we're from tissue samples doesn't mean we are any different than you! We are a part of you!"

The Fighter smiled to her son proudly noticing he had fire in his voice when he was making a point just like her. It was true, they were a part of them. Kos has the fire in his voice and hesitates when he knows he's going to do something wrong like his mother. He looks, smirks and overconfident of himself like his father.

Cobb nodded to Jenny and Kos "Well said soldiers. We need more like you if we're to ever find the source."

The Doctor looked at Cobb "Oh the source. What's that then? What's a source? I like a source."

"The breath of life."

"Yes and that would be..."

"In the beginning, the great one breathed life into the universe. And then she looked at what she'd done and she sighed."

Jenny and the Fighter grinned "She? I like that." They looked to each other and giggled.

"This whole creation thing sounds like a stupid myth." The Master rolled his eyes.

Cobb glared at him "It's not a myth. It's real. That sigh. From the beginning of time it was caught and kept as the source. It was lost when war started. But it's here, somewhere. Whoever holds the source controls the destiny of this planet."

The Doctor shouted running his hand through the map "Ah! I thought so. There's a suppressed layer of information in this map. If I can just..."

The Fighter already had her pink sonic screwdriver in hand thinking the same thing as she flashed it and the map revealed more tunnels and chambers. "Always one step ahead like always Fighter! Clever! Clever!"

"What is it? What does it mean?" Donna asked.

The Master explained "See? A whole complex of tunnels hidden from sight."

Cobb said pointing "That must be the lost temple. The source will be inside. You've show us the way! And look, we're closer than the Hath! It's ours!" He began to move to the middle of the theater as he told the one soldier "Tell them to prepare to move out. We'll progenate new soldiers on the morning shift, then we march. Once we reach the temple, peace will be restored at long last."

The Doctor asked "But if you really wanted peace, couldn't you just stop fighting?"

"Only when we have the Source. It'll give us power to erase every stinking Hath from the face of this planet!"

"Whoa! Whoa! You say you want peace but decided causing genocide will bring it? No way!" The Fighter yelled telling him.

"For us, that means the same thing."

The Doctor glared at him "Then you need to get yourself a better dictionary. When you do, look up genocide. You'll see a picture of me, The Master and Fighter and the caption will read 'Over our dead bodies.'"

Cobb shook his head at them "And you're the one who showed us the path to victory. But you can consider the irony from your prison cell." He looked to the younger soldier "Cline, at arms."

Cline did as told and pointed his gun at them. "Oi! Oi! Alright! Cool the beans Rambo!" Donna shouted putting up her hands.

"Take them, I won't have them spreading treason. And if you try anything, Doctor, Master, that your women die first."

The Doctor sighed looking to Donna "We're...no, We're not a couple!"

"I am not his woman!" Donna shouted.

The Fighter grabbed the Master's hand glaring at Cobb "You should be the one afraid of us. We're going to stop you Cobb."

Cobb laughed at the Fighter's warning "I have an army and Breath of God on my side. What'll you have?"

The Fighter smirked looking to the Master and Doctor "My boys, Myself and this." She pointed to her mind. "When you put all three of them together it can be an undefeatable weapon. Tick tock goes the clock..." She smirked at him as the Master and Doctor looked at her noticing she was talking at the ticking clock sound in her head at the end.

Cobb looked to Cline "Lock them up and guard them."

Cline asked looking to Jenny and Kos "What about the new soldiers?"

"Can't trust them." He pushed them in "They're from pacifist stock. Take them all!"

They were all led down a corridor before being shoved in a prison cell as Donna commented "More numbers. They've gotta mean something."

The Master scoffed "Makes as much sense as that stupid Breath of Life story." The Master sat down on a cot next to the Fighter as Kos stood by her.

Jenny and Kos looked to him asking shocked "You mean that's not true?"

"No it's a myth" Donna said agreeing. "Right, Doctor, Fighter?"

"Of course it is. But there still could be something real hidden away in that temple, something that's been turned over time into a myth." The Doctor added in.

"So the source could be a weapon and we've just given directions to Captain Nutjob?" Donna looked to them shocked.

"Oh yeah." The Fighter nodded sarcastically.

The Doctor agreed "That's why we need to get out of here, Find Martha and stop Cobb from slaughtering the Hath." The Doctor stopped talking noticing the smile on Jenny's face. "What?"

"You keep insisting you're not a soldier, but look at you! Drawing up strategies like a proper general." Jenny grinned at him.

"No, No, I'm trying to stop the fighting!" The Doctor shook his head.

"Isn't every soldier like the Fighter said?" Jenny glanced to the Fighter giving her a smile before looking back to her dad.

Kos nodded agreeing "Mother's right." He looked to the Fighter as she grinned at him proudly.

The Doctor looked to the Fighter and Master as the Fighter nodded agreeing. "Thank you Jenny and Kos."

The Doctor then looked to the Master as he smirked "She's got a point."

"Well I suppose...but that's...that's...technically...I haven't gotten time for this." The Doctor sighed as the Master laughed. The Doctor ignored him and continued "Donna, give me your phone! Time for an upgrade!"

Donna rolled her eyes and handed over her phone as he soniced it.

"And now you've got a weapon!" Jenny pointed to the sonic looking to Kos excited.

"That's not a weapon Jenny. We don't carry weapons around with us..." The Doctor looked to the Master "At least the Fighter and I. We have these, They're called Sonic Screwdrivers. The Master has a Laser screwdriver."

"It doesn't mean anything. You're still using it to fight back." Kos added in smirking as he knew he was right.

Jenny looked to the Doctor happily "I'm gonna learn so much from you, you are such a soldier!"

"Fighter, will you tell her?" The Doctor looked to his childhood friend for help.

The Fighter and Donna giggled as the Master laughed "Oh, you are speechless!"

The Master commented laughing a bit still "Oh I'm loving this! This is priceless! I haven't seen you this way since-"

The Doctor interrupted him before he could finish "You promised me we wouldn't talk about this around her."

The Fighter looked to her boys confused "What are you guys talking about? Are you guys keeping a secret from me? What is it?"

"Nothing, nothing!" The Doctor said blushing a bit as the Master laughed more.

The Fighter sighed turning to Kos and the others as the Doctor and Master continued yelling at each other "See what I've had to deal with here my whole life!"

Kos suddenly asked "Are you three childhood friends?"

The Fighter nodded "Yes. Those two are also my best friends, I'm really glad I met them. I don't know where I'd be today, who I'd be today without them."

"Sounds like you really love them." Kos commented.

The Fighter nodded "Yes, Yes I do."

"Then why did you chose Father?" Kos asked curiously.

The Fighter smiled feeling her hearts race "Don't get me wrong, I love the Doctor but not like that. He's like a brother and very close friend to me. Your Father is just a little more. I didn't tell him for a very long time until recently but I've always had a crush on him since he was little. He was so kind, smart, and every time I'm around him my hearts race like crazy. I knew I was in love with him but refused to accept it because I wasn't really sure but also because my cousin had a crush on him. At least that's what she told me, but it wasn't true. It was just because she was secret agent sent to spy on him. She really hurt him and I'll never forgive her for it."

Kos listened taking in all the information. Donna commented curiously listening in "That's terrible. What about that other bloke, the Joker? Why did you end up marrying him?" Donna remembered meeting the Fighter's talked about ex husband when they were in Pompeiii.

Kos suddenly asked "Wait! You married someone else? Are you married to Father?"

The Fighter explained "Yes and it was one of the worst mistakes I've ever made. I married him out of fear." This caught the Doctor and Master's attention as they began to listen in without the Fighter noticing. "He said if I didn't marry him, He would hurt my sister Romana. I was going to decline his offer but this was after my mother died. I couldn't loose my baby sister too so I married him. He hypontized me into appearing to like him and go along with it. Suddenly my mind started to actually believe the lie but in my second regeneration I finally broke free of it."

"So that's what you were talking to Romana about." The Doctor suddenly said as the Fighter turned to him shocked. The Doctor remembers back in his Fourth incarnation when Romana was on the TARDIS with them as his guide to finding the Key's to time. He found out they were sisters and they would always act cold to each other and avoid each other. He finally had enough to where he had them talk out their problem. He heard some of the conversation but not all.

The Master looked at her with narrowed eyes saddened she didn't tell him about it.

"Doctor? Fighter?" Martha's voice could be heard from the phone.

"Martha!" The Doctor and Fighter exclaimed "You're alive!"

"Oh am I glad to hear your voices! Are you both alright?"

"I'm with Donna, the Master, Doctor, Jenny and Kos. What about you?" The Fighter asked her.

"Jenny and Kos, the girl and boy from the machine. Jenny's my daughter and Kos is the Fighter and Master's son except they aren't. Anyway, where are you?" The Doctor asked.

Martha told them "I'm in the Hath camp. I'm okay but somethings going on. The hath are all marching off to some place that's appeared in this map thing."

"Ah my doing. Sorry." The Fighter said nervously as her eyes widened in realization "Oh no. The Hath and Human armies are going to the same place. There's going to be a blood bath."

"What do you want me to do?"

"Just stay where you are if you're safe. Don't move." The Doctor told her.

"But I can help." Suddenly Martha's phone beeped "Doctor? Fighter?"

The Doctor sighed as the connection over the phone was nothing but static. The Doctor handed the phone back to Donna. "We need to find a way out of here. They're getting ready to move out. We have to get past that guard."

Suddenly a smile filled the Fighter's face as she turned to the Master "I've got the perfect idea."

The Master had his Laser screwdriver in hand ready to use when the time was right. All they needed was for someone to distract the guard and the Fighter had something in mind.

"Okay, time to use my feminine charm!" The Fighter whispered as memories of her flirty 3rd incarnation came back to her. Oh how she missed it and the reaction she would always get from guys was hilarious.

Jenny turned to her smiling "I can deal with him. I want to try."

"No, no, no. You're not going anywhere." The Doctor shook his head at her.

"What?" Jenny looked at him confused.

The Doctor told her firmly "You belong here, with them."

"She belongs here with us! Same for Kos!" Donna and the Fighter glared at the two Time Lords.

"She's your daughter!" Donna said to the Doctor.

"And Kos is our son!" The Fighter said to the Master.

"She's a soldier!" The Doctor protested.

"He's not real!" The Master protested.

The Fighter walked over to her childhood friends and knocked them on their's heads. "Ow! Oi! What was that for?" Both Time Lords cried out.

"You're both idiots at times, I swear! I always have to be the voice of reason." She sighed "Well here it goes. Like Kos said, They are a part of us so accept it and get over it!" She looked over to the Doctor" Also, news flash, you were a soldier too or have you forgotten? You were right there in the middle of it all, at the very front along with me." The Doctor looked down knowing she was right.

The Fighter put a hand on Jenny's and Kos' shoulder while she looked to the Doctor "This is your daughter Doctor." She then looked to the Master "And this is your son. They're a part of you. Are you honestly going to look me in the eyes and tell me you wish to leave them here, all alone when you know very well what will happen to them. Please, don't let them go through what the Time Tots had to go through during the war."

"B-But they came out of that machine!" They tried protesting.

Donna shouted at them "Oh yes, we know that bit! Listen, have you got that stethoscope? Give it to me." The Doctor did as told hesitating a little.

The Fighter realized what Donna was doing "Ah, clever!" Donna pulled Jenny to her as she put the stethoscope to Jenny's chest listening for heartbeats.

"What're you doing?" Jenny asked.

"It's alright. Donna's checking for your heart beats." The Fighter smiled as Jenny looked at her a bit confused.

The Master scoffed thinking it impossible.

Donna looked up to the Fighter and smiled as they looked to the Doctor "Well come here! Listen, then tell us where she belongs."

The Doctor listened in as his eyebrows raised. He pulled back looking to her "Two hearts." She had two hearts.

The Master scoffed looking a bit surprised "You have got to be kidding!"

The Fighter grabbed Kos and put the Stethoscope to his chest. She pulled back and grinned at him "Come over here honey! Just listen then you can prove me wrong if I'm wrong."

The Master rolled his eyes thinking it nonsense but came over and listened. His eyes widened in shock that didn't go unnoticed by the others. He pulled back and looked to the Fighter and Kos. "How...?"

The Fighter giggled. "Well they are a part of us. Why not two hearts? See, they are our children."

"What's going on?" Jenny and Kos asked confused.

"Wait, this means that Jenny's a Time Lady like you" Donna pointed to the Fighter "And Kos is a Time Lord like you two." She pointed to the Doctor and Master.

"What's a Time Lady?" Jenny asked looking to the Fighter.

"And What's a Time Lord?" Kos asked looking to the Doctor and Master.

"A female Time Lord is called a Time Lady. At least that's how I prefer it because I am a Lady after all." The Fighter smiled proudly.

The Doctor cut in "It's where we're from."

Jenny looked at him "And I'm from you."

Kos looked to his parents "And I'm from the both of you."

"You're an echo, thats all." The Master said.

The Doctor continued "A Time Lord and Lady is so much more. A sum of knowledge, a code, a shared history, a shared suffering" The Doctor looked to the Master as they both looked to the Fighter who looked down understanding. "Only it's gone. All of it. Gone forever."

"What happened?" Both Jenny and Kos asked.

The Fighter spoke with sadness in her voice and eyes "There was a war." Memories of her fighting it in her 5th incarnation came back.

"Like this one?"

"Bigger, much bigger." The Doctor shook his head.

"And you fought? And killed?" Jenny and Kos asked them.

The Master looked down "I didn't. I tried but...I was so scared. I ran away and hid."

The Fighter explained "I was there when it was just beginning. Like I said, I was there to see my sister because I was feeling a little home sick. It happened just like that, no word, nothing. Just alarms going off and a battleground out of nowhere. I fought in the front lines and helped in the back ones to trying to get the children to safety. The Doctor, he fought on the front lines in many of the battles."

"Then how are we different?"

"You're not. It's just..." The Fighter bit her lip "You're not going to be able to go through all the things we've gone through."

"And what if we choose to fight?"

The Doctor and Master came back to their sense's "Then it'll be over our dead bodies."

"But that's not fair!" Jenny protested as Kos nodded.

The Doctor looked to the Master as they grinned "Oh I don't know, I think that sounds pretty fair. What do you think?"

"Yeah, though I don't plan on dying so don't do anything to scare your mother." The Master said looking to Kos as he looked up to the Fighter grinning.

She smiled at him warmly. "Oh you. Well now that's fixed, we need to get out of here." She looked to the Master "Still got it?"

He looked to the laser screwdriver in his hand he was hiding "Yes."

The Fighter looked to Jenny "Ready to use our natural weapon?"

Jenny looked to her a bit confused but nodded "The Feminine charm?" The Fighter nodded.

Jenny walked to the bars slipping her hands around them as she greeted Cline who was guarding them. "Hey."

Cline tried to brush her off "I'm not suppose to talk to you. I'm on duty."

She gave a smile "I know. Guarding me." She edged near to him "So does that mean I'm dangerous?" She batted her eyelashes "Or that I need protecting?"

"Protecting from what?"

"Oh I don't know...Men like you?" She began to lean forward to kiss him before grabbing his gun and pointing it at his stomach. She gave a wide smile "Keep quiet and open the door."

The Fighter smiled "Wow, she reminds me of how I was in my 3rd incarnation. Playing it cool and flirty then making the boys sweat." The Doctor and Master exchanged looks remembering it perfectly. She looked to the Master "Looks like you don't have to use your screwdriver for now." He put it away sadly. They all followed out of the cell as they continued walking and noticed another guard around the corner.

"That's the way out" The Doctor whispered as Jenny cocked her gun. He looked at her "Don't you dare!"

Donna shook her head "Let me distract this one. I have picked up a few womanly wiles over the years."

The Master was trying to hold back his laughter as the Doctor stopped her "Let's...save wiles for later. In case of emergency." The Doctor began to pull out a windup mouse not non of them noticing except the Master that the Fighter was stepping out into the corridor to distract the guard.

"Hey! What are you doing?" The Master whispered to her trying to pull her back.

"Shhh!" She told him as she walked, more like strutted over to the guard. The guard turned out and before he could say anything she knocked him out.

"I was gonna distract him, not clobber him!" The Doctor sighed putting his windup mouse away.

"Well I've done it many times before and saved us." The Fighter smiled at him. "Anyway they must all have a copy of that new map."

The Master looked to the Fighter "You all stay here. The Doctor and I will go find a copy."

"But-" The Fighter was cut off by the Master kissing her. He pulled back and grinned at her as they started running off.

"Oh...that's a nice way of telling me to shut up and obey." She growled.

Once the Doctor and Master found a copy of the map, they headed back to the group as they walked.

"It's another one of those numbers." Donna pointed out. "They're everywhere."

"The original builders must have left them. Some old cataloguing system." The Doctor while sonicing a panel.

Donna asked "You got a pen? Bit of paper?" The Fighter took out a piece of paper and a pen out of her pocket. "Do you see, the numbers are counting down. This one ends in one four. The prison cell said one six."

"Nicely spotted Donna. I wouldn't have noticed."

Kos commented "Always thinking, you all are."

Jenny added in "Who are you people?"

"We told you. I'm the Fighter, that's the Doctor and Master." The Fighter replied.

"The Doctor, Master and Fighter. That's it?" The girl and boy asked.

Donna commented sighing "That's all they ever say."

"No." The Doctor tried to protest.

Donna laughed "Oh come off it! You're the most anomalous blokes I've ever met!"

"And I wouldn't have it any other way." The Fighter smiled proudly.

The Doctor took the cover off the control panel "Here it is!"

Kos asked curious looking to the Master and Fighter "And Time Lords, what are they for exactly?"

The Master raised his eyebrow "For? They're not "For" anything. Unless you count being protectors of time long ago, but times have changed."

"So what do you do?"

The Fighter grinned at her son "What else? Travel through time and space, Your father, the Doctor and I." A spark of curiosity came into Kos and Jenny's eyes at the word Travel. "We also can't forget the wonderful people we come across and take on as companions along the way. I've met some pretty amazing people I'll never forget and have had amazing adventures with the Doctor, even when we would run into this one." She looked to the Master grinning.

Donna shook her head though smiling happy to be called brilliant but also knowing she would never be forgotten. "They save planets. Rescue civilizations, defeat terrible creatures and run...a lot!" She began to laugh "Seriously, there's an outrageous amount of running."

The Fighter joined in laughing "Yes, these two have always been big on running. Believe it or not, I wasn't much of a runner. I would always be yelling at them to slow down but after traveling with the Doctor for so long, I've come to enjoy it and never get tired of it."

The door slid open as the Doctor shouted out "Got it!"

Cobb's voice called out "Squad five, with me!"

"And just like that, here we go again!" The Fighter smiled as they began running through the door but came to a stop finding themselves standing in a hallway with red beams blocking the way through to the other side.

Donna sighed looking at the beams "That's not mood lighting, is it?" The Doctor reached into his pocket and grabbed the windup mouse from before tossing it into one of the beams as it was quickly destroyed. "No, didn't think so."

The Master commented "It's an arming device. Effective, sadly for us, but not too difficult to disable with the right tools which is good for us." He grinned.

"Ah, the control panel!" The Doctor called out running to fiddle with the wires inside it.

Donna commented looking up at the numbers "There's more of these! Always eight numbers, counting down, the closer we get."

The Doctor grinned "Here we go!"

"I suggest you hurry up and quick." The Master told him hearing the footsteps getting closer.

"The general!" Jenny and Kos called out to them.

They began to run towards the door as the parents called out "Where do you think you're going you two?"

"We can hold them up."

The Doctor shook his head "No, we don't need anymore dead."

The Fighter spoke up "Leave it to us."

Kos argued "But it's us or them." Jenny nodded agreeing.

The Doctor argued back "It doesn't mean we have to kill them!"

"It's kill or be killed!" Kos realized what he said as he looked down "I'm...I'm sorry."

The Fighter walked over to her son putting a hand on his shoulder "Sweetie, killing in never an option. It just isn't the way."

Jenny yelled out "We're trying to save your lives! I'm sorry but we don't have a choice!"

The Master spoke up, looking at them with narrowed cold eyes "Listen to me. The killing, after a while it infects you. And once it does you're never rid of it. I know that very well." He looked to the Fighter as she gave him a smile letting him know she was here for him, even knowing the truth.

Jenny shook her head "We don't have a choice!"

The Fighter spoke to the children "There is always a choice! No matter how bad the situation may be, there is always another option to take. I promise you, the guilt and pain that you feel, should your choice be to end this with a gun, will tear you apart from inside out. There is also always another way to fight your battles without having to use a gun."

Jenny looked to them, her eyes filled with tears "I'm sorry." She looked to Kos as she began running to the door "Come on Kos!"

Kos hesitated looking to his mother and father. He narrowed his eyes giving a nod as he sent them a mental sorry and joined Jenny.

"Jenny! Kos!" The Time Lords called out to their children.

The Fighter began to walk outside to get them as the Master and Doctor pulled her back. "What're you doing? You'll get yourself killed!"

"It's not like I've not died to protect those I care about before! I'm going out there to protect my son and Jenny." The Master grabbed her by her arms as she tried kicking and struggling out of his grip. "Let me go! Let me go, you jerk!"

"Fire!" One of the soldiers called out as the Master quickly dropped to the floor with the Fighter.

The Doctor shouted calling out "Jenny! Kos!"

"We're Coming!" Jenny called out.

Cobb suddenly ordered "Cease fire! Cease fire!" Once the firing stopped, The Master picked up the Fighter carrying her over to the Doctor.

"Jenny, Kos, leave it! Lets go!" The Doctor called out to them.

Jenny and Kos climbed to their feet as they eyed Cobb who was walking to the middle of the room. "You're both a child of the machine. You're on my side. Join us. Join us in the war against the Hath. It's in your blood. Don't deny it."

"He's wrong! You two are not soldiers. You're a Time Lady and a Time Lord and they are clever. Use your intelligence, not your weapon." The Doctor called out to them.

The Master added in smirking deviously "A Time Lord's greatest weapon is there mind!"

Kos smirked "Intriguing offer General Cobbs but, I'm a Time Lord and I don't listen to you."

Jenny looked up to the ceiling and fired at it causing a large cloud of steam to come down in front of Cobb and his soldiers, blocking their view. Jenny grabbed Kos' hand as they ran back to their parents.

"Well done Jenny and Kos!" The Fighter commented on them.

Jenny smiled at her "I am a Time Lady after all." They both giggled.

The Master looked to his son proudly "I told you a Time Lords greatest weapon is there mind. Good job." The Fighter smiled at him, proud to see him finally starting to accept Kos.

"Thanks mother and father." Kos smirked.

"Come on then, hurry up!" The Doctor called out to them from the other side as they began to run, the beams came back on, blocking their way. "No, no no!" The Doctor called out quickly. "The circuits looped back!"

"Zap it back!" Donna yelled to him urgently.

"The controls are back there!" The Doctor said looking to Jenny, Kos, the Master and Fighter on the other side.

The Master looked to the Fighter "You have your sonic don't you?"

The Fighter nodded taking out her pink sonic "Yes I do." She ran to the control panel zapping it with the sonic.

"They're coming!" Kos told them.

"Almost there! Come on my loyal screwdriver, you've always been there for me. Don't fail me now!" The Fighter bit her lip. The Master began to pull out his Laser screwdriver to use as the Fighter knew what he was up to "Don't even think about it! Using that could make it worse!"

The beams suddenly went off as they ran across and made it to the other side. Jenny looked to the Doctor "I didn't kill him! General Cobb, you were right. I had a choice." She looked to Kos "We had a choice."

The soldiers arrived at the corridor taking aim. The Doctor ushered for them to go. "At arms!" Cobb ordered to his people.

The Doctor called to him "We warned you Cobb! If the source is a weapon, we're going to make sure you never use it."

"One of us is going to die today and it won't be me." Cobb glared at them. as he opened fire but they all made it out in time.

"So you're together but not...married?" Kos asked his parents still trying to find out more about them.

The Fighter looked to the Master as she replied "Yes. We might get married someday." The Master looked to her nodding. If he had his way, he would have a Gallifreyan wedding with her. A proper one where they would whisper each other's real names and he wouldn't treat her the way her last husband did. He would treat her like a Queen.

Jenny looked to Donna and the Doctor "What about you two? You travel together, but you're not 'Together' like them?"

Donna looked to her shocked and a bit disgusted by the idea "What? No,no way! We're friends, that's all. I mean, we're not even the same species, there's probably laws against it."

The Fighter commented "Well... Some species don't like it or agree with it but as long as they love each other, I see no problem with it." She looked to the Doctor "I mean one of our companions Leela married a Time Lord called Andred. It was beautiful, they really did look good together. Also when I was back on Gallifrey for that little while before the war, I think something was going on between my sister and your brother Doctor."

The Doctor looked to her shocked hearing about his brother as The Master was laughing a bit at his reaction. The Fighter continued talking "I mean, think about it! Wouldn't it have been cute if Romana and Braxiatel got married!"

The Fighter continued giggling as the Doctor looked at her shocked with the Master still laughing. She didn't even realize what the Doctor had already realized. The Master told her "You do know that if that were to happen, what that would make you and the Doctor then, right?"

The Fighter suddenly stopped giggling as she realized looking to the Doctor "Oh my Gallifrey! That would make us Brother and Sister in law!" The Master continued laughing, oh how victory kept shinning on him.

Kos asked curiously "I have an aunt named Romana?"

Jenny smiled in joy "And I have an uncle called Braxiatel!"

The Fighter and Doctor gave nervous laughs. The Master remained silent as he didn't have any siblings, just cousins.

"And what's it like, the traveling? Do they travel as well?" Jenny asked.

The Doctor answered "Well, The Fighter's sister Romana traveled with us for that short while. Braxiatel, I'm not sure about. Been a long time since I've last seen him."

Donna commented "And traveling with these three, never a dull moment. Can be terrifying, brilliant, and funny, sometimes all at the same time. I've seen some amazing things though. Whole new worlds."

Jenny's eyes sparkled "Oh, I'd love to see new worlds." Kos nodded agreeing.

Donna nodded "You will, you both will." She looked to the Time Lords and Lady "Won't they?"

"Hmm?" The Doctor looked to them.

The Fighter elbowed both Time Lords as they cried out in pain "Of course they will!"

Jenny's eyes widened as she grabbed Kos' armed excitedly "You mean...you mean you'll take us with you?"

"I suppose so." The Master said as he looked to the Doctor who nodded.

Jenny grinned "Oh thank you! Thank you!"

Kos nodded "Thanks."

Jenny grabbed Kos' arm "Let's move on!" They started running off down the corridor.

"Careful, there might be traps!" The Doctor and Master called after them.

The Fighter giggled at their father instincts taking over. She had to admit, it was adorable.

Donna shook her head looking at the Fighter "Kids, they never listen." They giggled as they both looked up noticing the look on the two Time Lords face. "Oh, I know that look. You've both got dad-shock."

"Dad-shock?" The Doctor and Master repeated.

"I'm not shocked about anything." The Master scoffed trying to hide it.

The Fighter giggled as Donna and her both spoke "Sudden, unexpected fatherhood." Donna continued "It takes a bit of getting use to."

The Doctor shook his head "No, that's not it."

"What is it then? Having them in the TARDIS, is that it? Gonna cramp both your styles? Like you've got a sports car and they're gonna turn it into a people carrier?" Donna asked them. The Fighter looked down knowing what it was about.

The Doctor sighed "Donna, I've been a father before."

She looked at him shocked "What? But I thought you liked her..." She looked to the Fighter who was still looking down.

The Doctor continued "Yeah but she was already married at the time so I decided it best to just marry someone else. But I lost all that long ago with everything else."

The Fighter continued for him "I've met his wife before. Very lovely and was really in love with him. She had a lot of Patience..."

The Master commented "As for me, I never married. It didn't feel right to marry someone else even if it was for politics." He looked to the Fighter as she blushed.

Donna looked to them still shocked by it all "I'm sorry. I didn't know. Why didn't you tell me? You talk all the time, but you didn't say anything. The Fighter says more than you two."

The Doctor said softly "I know. I'm just, When I look at her now I can see them. The hole they left, all the pain that filled it. I just don't know if I can face that every day."

The Fighter grabbed both the Doctor and Master's hand smiling "We can help each other through it. Besides, we've been through a lot already and the universe has tried ripping us apart but we're standing right here together today."

The Doctor gave her a sad smile continuing "But when they died, that part of me died with them. It'll never come back, not now."

The Master looked to the Doctor "I think you're wrong." The Fighter and Doctor looked to him shocked as the Fighter suddenly nodded "Yes I agree. I have hope that someday, somehow, we will figure out how to save them all."

Suddenly the sound of gunfire was heard as Jenny and Kos came running back. "They've blasted through the beams." Kos told them.

"Time to run again. Love the running, yeah?" Jenny said excitedly. Kos shook his head, not to fond of running.

They started running, turning around a corner as they suddenly came to a dead end. "We're trapped." Donna groaned.

The Master frowned "Cant be, this must be the temple!" He stepped forward and touched part of the paneling on the wall. "This is the door."

Donna exclaimed looking to the numbers on the wall again "And again! We're down to 1-2 now. These can't be cataloguing systems." They're too similar, too familiar."

"Got it!" The Master and Doctor exclaimed as the door slid open. They all began to run inside the temple which looked more like an engine room.

"They're coming! Close the doors!" Jenny shouted as the Master pushed a couple of keys and the door closed. "That was a close one."

"No fun otherwise!" The Doctor exclaimed.

Donna looked around and remarked "It's not what I'd call a temple."

"It looks more like..." Kos began

As the Master finished "Like a Fusion-drive transport. Oh a spaceship, wasn't expecting that."

"What the original one? The one the first colonists arrived in?" Donna asked.

The Doctor nodded "Well, it could be. But the power cells would have run down after all that time. This ones still powered up and functioning. Come on!"

They began running up a flight of metal stairs as they saw someone trying to cut through the other side of a door. "It's the Hath!" Kos and Jenny called out. "That's not gonna last much longer...and if General Cobb's gets down there, war's gonna break out."

The Fighter pointed over to a computer terminal "Look at what I found! A ship's log!" They ran over as she brought up a screen "First wave of human/Hath co-colonzation of planet Messaline."

Jenny commented "So it is the original ship."

Donna asked "What happened?"

The Doctor replied "Phase one, construction. They used robot drones to build the city."

"But does it mean the war?" Donna asked.

The Master read "Final entry...Mission Commander dead. Still no agreement on who should assume leadership. Hath and humans have divided into fractions."

The Doctor pointed "That must be it! A power vacuum. The crew divided into two fractions and turned on each other. Start using the progenation machines and suddenly you've got two armies fighting a never ending war!"

Kos reminded them "Two armies who are now both outside."

"Look at that!" Donna pointed out a screen displaying a set of numbers just like the ones they've been coming across.

"It's just like the numbers in the tunnels." The Fighter commented.

Donna shook her head "No, no, no, no. Listen, I spent six months working as a temp in Hounslow Library, and I mastered the Dewey Decimal System in two days flat. I'm good with numbers and it's been staring us in the face this whole time!"

The Fighter's face filled with realization as she looked at it "Oh...Your right." The others looked confused.

Donna continued "It's the date! Assuming the first two numbers are some big old space date. Then you've got year, month, day. It's the other way around like it is in America!"

The Fighter gave Donna a high five "Way to go girly! After this, we're so going to the spa for a reward! I know a good planet with one." The Boys looked at them shocked. "It's the new Byzantine Calender!"

Donna continued "The codes are completion dates for each section." She showed them the numbers she took down on the notepad. "They finish it, they stamp the date on! So the numbers aren't counting down, they're going out from here, day by day, as the city got built!"

"Yes! Good work Donna!" The Doctor exclaimed.

"But that's not all Doctor!" The Fighter grinned.

Donna continued "Yeah...But you're still not getting it. The first number I saw back there was 6012-07-17. Well, look at the date today!" She gestured to the screen.

The Master commented "17-24..."

The Doctor shouted "No!"

"What does that mean?" Jenny and Kos asked confused.

The Master replied "Seven days...It's only been seven days since war broke out."

Jenny and Kos looked to each other confused then back to their parents "But they said years!"

The Fighter shook her head "Ah no. They said generations. And if they're all like you and they're products of those machines..."

The Master continued finishing "They could have twenty generations in a day! Each generations get killed in the war, passes on the legend!"

"Oh Donna, you're a genius!" The Doctor grinned at her.

"But all the buildings, the encampments. They're in ruins." Kos tried arguing.

The Fighter spoke "No but they're not ruined. Nor are they empty. They're just waiting to to used and populated!"

The Doctor commented "Oh, they've mythologized their entire history!"

The Master laughed, oh how victory kept shining on him today. "Told you, it was nothing but a myth. Once again, I was right."

The Doctor rolled his eyes at him as the Fighter shook her head. He was so full of himself at times. The Doctor continued talking ignoring him "The Source must be a part of it too. Come on!"

They began running down a hall only to run straight into Martha Jones herself. Martha looked like she was freezing cold. "Doctor, Fighter!" She shouted in relief.

"Martha!" They both yelled as they took her in a hug. "It's good to see you again."

Martha laughed "Good to see you again too." She looked over to Donna, avoiding the Master as always. "Donna!" She ran over and hugged her.

The Master rolled his eyes as he mumbled to himself "Oh, no, Hello, it's terrible to see you once again after you tried taking over the world and almost killed my family though you're trying to redeem yourself, good for you."

Donna looked to Martha "Oh, you're filthy. What happened?"

Martha muttered "I, er, took the surface route."

Cobbs voice was suddenly heard "Positions!" The sound of the soldiers approaching was getting louder.

The Doctor sighed "That's the general. We haven't got much time."

"We don't even know what we're looking for." Donna argued.

Martha sniffed "Is it me or can you smell the flowers?"

"Yes...Bougainvillea! I say we follow our nose!" The Fighter looked around.

Cobb ordered "Squads seven and ten, advance! With me!" The soldiers and him began running up a flight of stairs.

They hurried up the next level of stairs to find themselves in a Greenhouse filled with all different types of plants. It was no wonder they could smell it as the aroma was everywhere.

"I-It's beautiful!" The Fighter commented.

"For some reason, it reminds me of the Cerulean's." The Master commented as all three childhood friends grinned mischievously.

They then noticed Kos was looking over at a large glass sphere with colorful gas like substance inside. "Is this the source?" He asked.

The Doctor nodded "That would be the one and only."

Jenny gasped "It's beautiful!"

"What is it?" Martha asked.

"It's Terraforming, it's a third generation terraforming device." The Master said looking at it shocked.

Donna questioned looking at all the plants "So, why are we in Kew Gardens?"

The Doctor told her "Because that's what it's suppose to do. Well, on a much, much larger anyway. It's in a transit state at the moment." He waved his hands at the plants "Producing all this must help keep it stable before they finally..."

Suddenly the Hath appeared running towards them followed by the humans on the other side. The Doctor held out his hands "Stop! Hold your fire!"

Cobb glared at them "What's this? Some kind of trap?"

The Doctor told him "You said you wanted this war over."

"I want this war won."

The Fighter shook her head, stepping forward "You can't win. No one can. You don't even know why you're here. Your whole history, it's just Chinese Whispers. It keeps getting more distorted the more it's passed on." She gestured to the Sphere Kos was standing by "This is the Source. This is what you're fighting over. A device to rejuvenate a planets ecosystem."

The Master added in "It's not mystical or magical. It was built in a laboratory by scientist's, not some creator. All it is, is a bubble of gasses or a cocktail of different chemicals to accelerate evolution. It's made from methane, hydrogen, ammonia, amino acids, proteins and nucleic acids."

The Doctor told them "Its's used to make barren planets habitable. Look around you!" He gestured to the plants "It's not for killing! It's bringing life. If you allow it, it can lift you out of these dark tunnels and into the bright, bright sunlight! No more fighting, no more killing." He picked up the sphere "I'm the Doctor and I declare this war over!"

He threw it onto the ground as it shattered, releasing the gasses, and allowing them to escape into the air. The humans and Hath watch with amazement and awe as they lower their guns.

"What's happening?" Jenny asked, looking amazed.

The Doctor told her "The gasses will escape and trigger the terraforming process. It's a brand new world!" He grinned at her.

Jenny suddenly cried out running towards the Doctor "No!" As a gunshot was heard hitting her in the chest above her hearts. She fell back into the Doctor's arms.

"How dare you!" Kos yelled as he grabbed his gun he had and started to aim for Cobb but was suddenly shot by him as well. The Fighter gasped as she took him into her arms. The humans quickly grabbed Cobb, forcing him to his knees as they took his gun away.

The Master looked to Cobb beyond angry. He felt the rush of wanting to murder this man take over as he pulled out his Laser Screwdriver. "You insolent primitive!" Before he was able to fire it, he was stopped by a voice of reason.

"STOP! JUST STOP IT! Isn't this enough war already? Two children are dead!" The Fighter called out to him as she broke out in sobs. "Don't make it worse than it already is! Just stop..." She looked down to her son in her arms as he lay dying.

The Master stopped biting his lip as he put his Laser screwdriver down and back into his pocket. She always seemed to be the voice of reason and with her crying and holding their dying child in her arms, he knew it was a lot. It must have been like the Time War all over for her again and the Doctor as well.

"Jenny!" The Doctor began sobbing "Jenny, please, come on!" He begged.

"Kos! No...no...NO! Come on sweeite! Show me your beautiful brown eyes and that stupid smirk you have just like your father." The Fighter begged "Please...If only I had all my nurse equipment here, I could help you and Jenny even more."

Martha and Donna knelt down between the two as Martha took Jenny's pulse. "Are they going to be alright?"

Jenny whispered moving her head slightly to look at Kos in the Fighter's arms next to her "Hey Kos, Look! A new world...It's so beautiful..."

The Doctor looked at her "Jenny, you clever, clever girl. Stay strong and just hold on a little while longer." He began to cup her cheeks "We've got things to do. Hey...hey...we can go anywhere you want. Your choice."

Jenny smiled faintly "That sounds good..." She looked over to Kos again "Don't you agree Kos?" But it was too late, Kos had already gone as the Fighter cried into her sons chest as the Master put an arm on her shoulder to help comfort her.

Jenny suddenly gasped for breath as she looked to her father and smiled faintly before she closed her eyes and stopped breathing. The Doctor let his tears fall as he sobbed loud like the Fighter placing a kiss on Jenny's forehead.

The Master suddenly gasped "They've got two hearts like us! If we wait..."

The Fighter looked up at him "But there's no sign."

Martha looked down sadly not wanting to say it "No sign for either of them. There is no regeneration. They're like you, but maybe...not enough."

The Fighter whipped the tears from her eyes as she carefully laid Kos on the ground standing up. The Doctor breathed "No, too much. That's the truth of it, they were too much like us." He looked over to the Fighter and Master as they shared the look of pain and understanding with each other that all Time Lords did.

The Doctor laid Jenny on the ground as well getting up as he stormed over to Cobb snatching the gun that was used to murder both of the Time Lord children and pointed it at his head. The Master looked at him shocked but understood what he was feeling, the rage, the shaking, the urge.

And like always, their voice of reason came to save them "Doctor..." The Fighter said as he lowered the gun.

He crouched down to Cobb "I never would. Have you got that? I never would!" He stood up and looked to the Master as he knew he was sending him a mental message about his killing rage earlier. The Doctor looked to the soldiers "When you start this new world. This world of human and Hath...remember that! Make the foundation of this society a man who never would!"

He cast a final look as he tossed the gun aside and went back to Jenny's body. The Fighter joined him at his side as they both took each other into a hug sobbing into each other's shoulders. The Master watched, letting the Doctor words sink in as he watched his childhood friends cry.

The group found themselves standing to the wall as Jenny and Kos' bodies lay peacefully on a table. The Fighter and Doctor stood next to each other leaning their heads on each other as the Master stood on the Fighter's other side silently.

Martha, Donna, Cline and a Hath stood on their side of the table as looked up at a sudden burst of bright sunlight beaming into through the window falling on the Time Lord children's faces.

Martha said quietly "It's happening, the terraforming."

"Build a city, nice and safe underground, strip away the top soil and there it is." Donna sighed as she looked over to Jenny and Kos "And what about them?"

Cline asked "Let us give them a proper ceremony? I think I'd help us. Please."

The Doctor, Fighter and Master looked to each other as they nodded. "Yes, thank you." The Fighter replied.

The Two Time Lords, the Time Lady and two human female companions stood around the TARDIS console talking. The Doctor explained "Jenny and Kos, they were the reason for bringing us here. We just got here to soon, which then created Jenny and Kos in the first place."

The Master shook his head "It was a paradox, an endless paradox."

The Doctor looked to Martha "Time to go home?"

"Yeah, home."

He started working the controls as they arrived.

Outside the TARDIS, Donna asked Martha "Are you sure about this?"

"Yeah positive." Martha nodded "I can't do this anymore. You'll be the same one day."

Donna shook her head "No me. Never! How could I ever go back to a normal life after seeing this? I'm going to travel with these three forever."

Martha smiled and hugged her "Good luck."

Donna smiled back "You too!" She walked back into the TARDIS leaving the Time Lords and Lady with Martha.

The Doctor commented "We're making a habit of this."

Martha nodded "Yeah, and you'd think it'd get easier. All those things you've been ready to die for. I thought for a moment there you'd finally found something else worth living for and not just for her." Martha looked over to the Fighter who was standing by the Master.

The Fighter walked over to Martha and hugged her "Dear Martha Jones, there is always something worth living for. Always!" She smiled brightly at her as Martha nodded. Though she was together with the Master, she couldn't bring herself to hate the Time Lady.

Martha grinned "Of course!" Martha gasped "And oh, before I forget to tell you, I ran into a girl named Elizabeth who looked like that one friend who's house you were staying at when the Doctor found you again. Anyway, she said to tell you "They are returning, He is returning, She has returned and the one helping her is someone who has hurt the one you love. What does all that mean?"

The Fighter looked to the Doctor and Master as she mumbled "It's just like what they said in Pompeii and also what my TARDIS was telling us about back at Elizabeth's..."

They looked up to Martha as the Fighter smiled "Ok, thank you. If you happen to run into her again, please relay this message to her. 'Joker..."

The Doctor and Master looked to her shocked to hear her saying her ex husband's title name. Martha looked confused but nodded "Okay." And wen't on her away. They all went back to the TARDIS to join Donna as it dematerialized. A woman with black hair walked out from around the dark corner she was hiding and watching all this happen. The woman walked over to where the TARDIS had dematerialized as she grinned "I got you loud and clear, cousin..."

The Master and Fighter were sitting in the Fighter's Gallifrey painted and decorated room as they laid silently on the bed, resting. They had just lost a child and it was the first one for both of them. The Master couldn't get over the sobs of the Fighter as she held their dead child in her arms.

The Master looked around the room that looked like their home planet as an idea came to him. Oh it was clever. It would be better if they could get married on Gallifrey but since that wouldn't be happening for a while (Not until he figured out a way to bring Gallifrey back which was another idea he was working on), they should just have a Gallifreyan wedding here in the TARDIS. It was big enough and would only be a very private one. He could invite his close friends (Which were the Doctor and Fighter herself) Already taken care of. He would have to plan it as a surprise and propose without her knowing. And...

"Koschei..." He was suddenly broken out of his thoughts by the Fighter calling his childhood name.

"Yes Missy?" He looked down at her into her blue eyes as he softly pet her strawberry blonde hair.

"If we were to have a child, would you want it to be a pure blooded Time Lord or would you be ok with one like Kos?"

He looked to her with a raised eye brow as he looked to see she was serious. He sighed "I would honestly prefer our child to be a pure blooded Time Lord. We would also have to teach them our ways and culture. I don't want them being like those apes." She elbowed him for that. He was raised differently then her and the Doctor so it was understandable, but she couldn't handle it when that side of him would come out at times.

She sighed happily as she laid her head on his chest, listening to his two heart beats. She could understand why he wanted to raise his child by their culture and ways just like how they were raised but part of her didn't want them to be all like that. He wasn't there during the war, he didn't know what their own people were up to. It made her and the Doctor sick.

She also couldn't seem to shake the message Martha gave her from that girl who looked like and was called Elizabeth. It couldn't be possible, she died in Utopia, became one of the toclafane and was erased. Also what could those people in Pompeii, her own TARDIS and the message the girl gave for her be about? Something was coming and it wasn't going to be good.

Cline and a Hath are putting a pillow under Jenny and Kos head as they start putting a sheet over their bodies. Suddenly their mouths open as golden energy comes out from them. They gasp and open their eyes.

Jenny smiles to Cline, the Hath and Kos "Hello Boys." Her eyes land on Kos. "Well, shall we begin?" Jenny got up and began running down the hall.

Kos groaned "That girl. Hey Jenny, wait up!"

They made it to the shuttle and entered inside it as Cline called to them over a radio. "The shuttle. Jenny? Kos? What're you doing? Come back!"

Jenny spoke "Sorry. Can't stop. What are you going to do, tell our parents?" She looked to Kos "I know you're not one for running but you do know what you're getting yourself into, right?"

Kos nodded "I'll get use to it eventually and come to love it just like my Mother."

Cline asked "But where are you going?"

Jenny smiled as she began to start up the shuttle "Oh we've got the whole universe." The shuttle begins to take off in the sky. "Plants to save, civilizations to rescue, creatures to defeat and..."

She looks to Kos as he joins in "An awful lot of running to dooooooo!"

Yay! I finally finished typing this! So very sorry for the long long update my dear readers! A special thanks to the people who reviewed, faved and followed.

Now onto some notes and such:

1. The thing about Kos: I honestly couldn't think of a name for him and I kept imagining, if the Fighter and Master did have a son, he would mostly resemble the Master. So I got Kos from Koschei, the Master's childhood name. :)

2. Romana and Braxiatel: In the Gallifrey Audio drama's it is hinted at that something is going on between these two (At least to me.) With Romana being Lady President and Brax being a member of the High Council of Time Lords and a confidante to her, well just let your imagination go wild there. XD

3. Ceruleans: It is one of the many chapters at The Time Lord Academy. The Doctor, Master and Fighter were in the Prydonian Chapter. The certain chapters were given characteristics along with colors. The Prydonians are known as Rebels and Mischevious and the chapter with most Renegades. The Ceruleans are known as the obsessed plant lovers with an extreme aversion to dirt, so all their interactions with plants are amateurish and full of wonder, and slightly over the top. In all the other chapters (Except Prydonian since they are rebels and Ceruleans cause they love love plants) it was looked down and disgusted. So thats the joke I made with it there when the Master, Fighter and Doctor laugh mischeviously. :D

4. An awful lot of running to dooooooo!: I was kinda referencing to a song by the Doctor Who song makers band called Chameleon Circuit as they do a Doctor Who themed song called "An Awful lot of Running." Check it out :D It's on Youtube.
