I can't tell you exactly what is going to happen because that would be spoiling the end of this story, but I can tell you another thing I will be doing after this ends. I will be finally updating and re-editing "Running Away from Gallifrey", the Prequel to this story.

Anywhosicles, I hope you all enjoy this chapter. I put a lot of work and mental thinking into what you're about to read! *SQUEEELS* I've been waiting for this day for you all to read what this chapter awaits! I'm super proud :)

The Time Lady and her Boys

Pairing: The Master/Time Lady OC

Chapter 23: The End of Time - PART 4 - The Key of Rassilon

Rassilon sat at his seatwith the other Time Lords as they talked about the preperations to save Gallifrey. "What news of the Doctor?"

"Disappeared, my Lord President." The Chancellor replied carefully.

"What about my daughter The Fighter?" Rassilon looks to them coldly.

"She has regenerated on the battlefield and taken cover with the Doctor. She still knows nothing that has happened to her sister." The Chancellor replies hesitantly.

A sly grin came to Rassilon's lips.

A woman called the Partisan cleared her throat "But we know the Doctor's intention. He still possesses the Moment, and he'll use it to destroy Daleks and Time Lords alike."

Rassilon's grin fell from his face into a frown.

"The Visionary confirms it."

An old woman at the end of the table with white wild hair and henna tattoos on her hands and face mumbles "Ending, burning, falling. All of it falling. The black and pitch and screaming fire, so burning."

"All of her prophecies say the same. That this is the last day of the Time War. That Gallifrey falls. That we die, today."

"Ending. Ending. Ending. Ending!"

The Partisan looked to Rassilon with a nervous look and said reluctantly. "Ailla and the human girl she brought with her have failed their mission. Perhaps it's time. This is only the furthest edge of the Time War. But at its heart, millions die every second, lost in bloodlust and insanity. With time itself resurrecting them, to find new ways of dying over and over again. A travesty of life. Isn't it better to end it, at last?"

"Thank you for your opinion." Rassilon stood up and aimed his blue metal gauntlet at the Partisan. Energy strikes her, she screams and is atomised. The Lord President looks around the room with a scowl as he yells "I WILL NOT DIE! Do you hear me? A billion years of Time Lord history riding on our backs. I will not let this perish. I WILL NOT!"

Everyone in the room looks at him shocked and scared, not willing to say a thing to set off his anger and be the next victim.

The Chancellor clears his throat and speaks up "There is, er, there is one part of the prophecy, my Lord." He gets up and walks over to Rassilon showing him a piece of paper. "Forgive me, I'm sorry. It's rather difficult to decipher, but it talks of three survivors beyond the Final Day. Three children of Gallifrey. One of them being your daughter, The Fighter."

Rassilon raised his eyebrow in wonder "What about the other two? What are their names?"

"It foresees them locked in their final confrontation, The Enmity of Ages, which would suggest-"

"The Doctor! And the Master."

"One word keeps being repeated, my Lord. One constant word. Earth."

The Visionary scribles down more and mumbles "Earth. Earth. Earth. Earth. Earth. Earth."

The Chancellor begins to explain to the confused Lord President "Planet Earth. Indigenous species, the human race." A projection of Earth appears above the table.

"Earth. Earth. Earth."

Rassilon looks to the planet with a sparkle in his eyes and a plan ready to be put into action. "Maybe that's where the answer lies. Our salvation. On Earth." He stands up from his chair and looks to the Chancellor "Get me Ailla from the CIA here at once! I need to go speak with our ex Lady President."

The Doctor has been bound and gagged, straped upright to a trolley. Wilfred is tied to a chair nearby. The Fighter is standing with the original Master who is grinning proudly. Her hands have been tied behind her back with ropes but she can still walk free. Instead she is standing by his side as she is putting a plan together, waiting for the perfect moment to use it.

She would admit, she found it creepy that her lover was everywhere and everyone. Especially the flirty looks they all gave her as they were checking her out.

The Master grins at the Doctor gloating "Enough soldiers and weapons to turn this planet into a warship. Nothing to say, Doctor? What's that? Pardon? Sorry?"

"You let him go, you swine." Wilfred shouts to him.

"Hush now, listen to your Master." The Master replies. He then turns to look back at his lover, wanting to take in his glory with his lover but sees her looking at the Doctor intently. He felt a flame build up inside him as he realized what they were doing.

He quickly walks over to the Time Lady and gets in her line of vision, looking into her blue eyes. "Ah, ah, ah now. You only have eyes for me my dear! No sending little messages to dear Theta now you hear?"

A smile comes to the Fighter's face as she pulls him in for a kiss. The kiss was passionate but also a way of helping the Doctor and Wilf get free. What she was about to say truly came from her hearts for him as she pulle away from the kiss. "I love you Koschei..." She kicked him right where the sun don't shine as he fell to his knees "...But you can be an idiot at times."

She quickly ran over to the Doctor and begin to remove his gag, but as she began to get to his straps, two of the Master's grabbed her and quickly tied up her hands and feet. The Master slowly got up off the floor and looked to her with a slight grin "That wasn't nice my dear."

"What you're doing right now to all these people isn't nice!" She yelled out to him, trying to fight her way out of the Master guards grips. "You can do so much better than this, I know you can! Was all that time we spent together, all the time of you, The Doctor, Donna and I, saving planets and people...was that all a lie?"

The Master looked to his crying lover silently. It hurt him to see her this way but he felt he had to do this. His path was nothing but a dark path. He wanted the light so bad, he wanted her, but the darkness always had a way of tempting him just right. She didn't deserve to be with someone dark when she was light. It was time for him to let her go and let her be happy, even if he had to lie to her to do so.

He hesitated to answer at first, but then replied bitterly. "Yes. The whole thing was a lie."

Sobs were heard in her voice as she looked to him with a devestated look "Even when you risked your life to save me from the Daleks and were a hero?"

He nodded, forcing a dark grin to appear on his face. "That was the biggest lie of all! I did it all for me!"

He could see tears falling from her eyes, tears of sadness but most importantly, tears of anger. She clenched her teeth in anger as she glared at him.

The Master turned to the Doctor "Now tell me, where's your TARDIS?"

The Doctor took his eyes off the Fighter and looked to the Master with a dissappointed look "She's right you know. You could be so wonderful."

"Where is it?"

"You're a genius. You're stone cold brilliant, you are. I swear, you really are. But you could be so much more. You could be beautiful. With a mind like that, we could travel the stars again. It would be my honour. Because you don't need to own the universe, just see it. To have the privilege of seeing the whole of time and space, with friends, with the one you love. That's ownership enough."

The Master looks at him hesitantly "Would it stop, then? The noise in my head?"

The Fighter perks up, looking at him with wide eyes. The clocks were ticking away in her mind, but they were toned down thanks to the conversation she just had with Koschei. The words spoken kept repeating in her mind over and over again.

"I can help the both of you." The Doctor looked to his friends sympathtically.

"I don't know what I'd be without that noise." The Master explained trying to imagine the possiblilty. He looked over to the Fighter.

She looked at him with narrowed eyes "I can tell you what we'd be without the noises, happy! I would have my father and my sister and we could have ended up together happily instead of how it has turned out now!"

"What noise?" Wilfred asked confused.

The Master explained "It began on Gallifrey, as children. Not that you'd call it childhood. More a life of duty. Eight years old. I was taken for initiation, to stare into the Untempered Schism."

"What does that mean?"

"It's a gap in the fabric of reality. You can see into the Time Vortex itself. And it hurts." The Doctor replied back.

"They took me there in the dark. I looked into time, old man, and I heard it calling to me. Drums. The never ending drums." The Master looked off into the distance as if remembering it as yesterday.

"The same happened to me, except with clocks. The only thing was my father told me I was destined to save Gallifrey." The Fighter gave a small sad smile.

"Remember it's not your fault Fighter." The Doctor reminded her.

"I know, but there's one thing I've always found odd."

"And what's that?"

"How could my father have known Gallifrey was going to fall from all those centuries ago when...I killed him before it even happened?"

Rassilon grinned at the ex Lady President who was behind bars, glaring at him. She had the same look as her sister.

"Whatever you're up to Rassilon, my sister and the Doctor will stop you!" Romana told him with confidence. She had faith in her sister and her friend, she knew in the end the would always win no matter what.

He chuckled deeply "I wouldn't be so sure about that Romanadvoratrelundar!"

She yelled back at him "How dare you use my full name! You may be using my father's body as your vessel, but you are NOT my father!"

Rassilon chuckled again "Oh, but your sister thinks I am. And as long as she does, my plan will work out perfectly! I'm going to change history! The perfect little life she has with a loving father and all the love she could have given you as a sister, gone!"

Romana gasped, finally realizing the reason behind all that happened "It was you! You killed our father. You killed our mother. You caused everything that happened in my sisters life to happen, especially the clocks!"

"You are a brilliant one Romana and correct. I even set up little pawns of my own like Ailla, your cousin and The Joker, your sister's ex husband to work for me and help in plans."

Romana glared at the man with a burning hate, it made her blood boil. "You won't get away with this Rassilon!"

He grinned at her, mad with power "Oh, but I clearly will. Now sit tight, I'll return for you when it's time."

"Time for what?"

"To use you against your sister."

Rassilon appeared back in the war room, sitting in his chair. "The Untempered Schism. That's when it began."

"History says the Master heard a rhythm. A torment that stayed with him for the rest of his life." The Chancellor explained.

"A drumbeat. A warrior's march."

"A symptom of insanity, my Lord."

The Visionary begins tapping the rhythm for them with her long fingernail on the metal surface table.

"A rhythm of four. The heartbeat of a Time Lord." Rassilon exclaims. "What about my Daughter?"

"The constant ticking sound of a clock has stayed with her for the rest of her life. It hasn't caused her much torment like the Master, but history says the closer she gets to the end of time, the louder it will get." The Chancellor looked to Rassilon with a nervous look.

The Lord President's smirk grew "The countdown to the Time Lords returning!" The Chancellor's eyes went wide looking down at the paper in his hands. Rassilon glared over at him "Well? What is it?"

He cleared his throat "Er- my Lord, it says here something else about the Fighter. It says her father, The Keeper of the Matrix, will become possessed by a person with a plan to turn his daughter into the...Key of Rassilon. He shall hold the Key by his side at all times and she will know of her destiny to come for he has planned it out for her."

All the Time Lords in the room looked at Rassilon with an even more horrorified expression. The Chancellor looked to his Lord President in horror, realizing the truth. "No wonder I've seen that body before...you killed him!"

Rassilon stood up "No, I merly took control of his body from the Matrix and took it for my own. Now the Fighter on the other hand, she's the one who killed her father." He gave an evil laugh.

The Doctor raised an eyebrow at her, agreeing with her statement. "He was the Keeper of the Matrix, right?" She nods her head in reply. "Then he must have seen the future event of Gallifrey's fall coming."

The Fighter looked down "There's another thing..."

"What is it?"

She finally looks up at him with serious eyes "I think I might be the Key of Rassilon."

The Doctor and Master look at her confused "What makes you say that?" The Doctor asks.

The Master looks at her in realization "Of course, It was you all along!" He looks to the Doctor explaining. "Remember when the Time Lords put you on trial?"

"How could I forget?!" The Doctor replied nodding. His eyes then became wide in realization "You are the Key of Rassilon, at least one of the many copies. B-but how is that possible?"

The Time Lady shrugged her shoulders "I don't know, all I remember my father saying is I'm a special key to him. He kept repeating the word Key over and over again. I remember asking him why I couldn't see my mother unlike all the others."

"Oohh, that's right. Being the Key of Rassilon, you're connected to the Matrix in a way. Which means, you can see all the memories and Time Lords who are now permenately dead."

"What? You're saying she can communicate with your dead?" Wilfred asked confused with all this information.

The Doctor explained "The Matrix is a micro universe, like a supercomputer, used as a storehouse of knowledge to predict future events but also, to store the personalities/memories of dead Time Lords including our past incarnations we no longer can be."

"And me, being the Key, can give anyone access to it all." The Fighter looked back and forth between the three men.

The Master suddenly clutched his head "The noise!" He looks up grinning at thm all. "The noise exists within my head, and now within six billion heads. Everyone on Earth can hear it. Imagine. Oh. Oh, yes. " As he laughs, his skeleton briefly visible again.

"The Gate wasn't enough. You're still dying." The Doctor said.

The Master gave a smirk "This body was born out of death. All it can do is die. But what did you say to me, back in the wasteland? You both said the end of time." He looked to the Fighter "You said your father told the mystery of the clocks would be revealed in the end of time."

The Fighter nodded as the Doctor spoke " I said something is returning. We were shown a prophey. That's why we need your help."

The blonde Time Lord chuckled "What if I'm part of it? What if the Fighter is part of it as well? Don't you see? The drumbeat is calling from so far away. She gets clocks in her head and becomes a key! and it's all coming from the end of time itself. And now the drumbeat has been amplified six billion times. Triangulate all those signals. I could find its source. Oh, Doctor. That's what your prophecy was." He points to himself and The Fighter "Us!"

The Doctor looks at them shocked as the Master suddenly slaps him. "Where's the Tardis?"

"No. Just stop. Just think."

The Master looked to the guard with a black helmet covering his face "Kill him." He pointed to Wilf. The guard walks over to him.

"I need that technology, Doctor. Tell me where it is, or the old man is dead. I'll kill him right now!"

"Actually, the most impressive thing about you is that after all this time, The Fighter is right. You're still bone dead stupid. You've got six billion pairs of eyes, but you still can't see the obvious, can you?"

The Master rolls his eyes "Like what?"

The Doctor smiles "That guard is one inch too tall."

The guard knocks out the Master with his rifle butt, then removes his helmet to reveal a green spiky head. "Oh my God, I hit him. I've never hit anyone in my life." Rossiter says in a shaky voice.

A green spiky woman runs in "Well, come on. We need to get out of here fast. "Addams says.

"This prophecy of yours, Doctor, where did it come from? Doctor?" One of the Master copies could be heard on the screen.

The Fighter looks over and decides on what she should do.

Addams looks over "Come on! We've got to get out."

"Just wheel him! I'm going to stay behind and watch over my idiot!" The Fighter tells her. The Doctor shakes his head. "Don't worry, I can handle him!"

"No, no, no. Get me out. No, no, no, don't. Don't! No, no, no." The Doctor begins shouting as the gang begin wheeling him out of the building, leaving her alone.

"What's going on? Doctor!" The Master on the screen calls out.

The Fighter goes over to the screen and smiles at him "Everything's under control!"

He raises his eyebrow "Where's the Doctor?"

"Oh, just taking a ride with the cactuses." She giggled at what she said. He raised his eyebrow even more. "No, I'm actually serious. I'm just stalling for them my idiot."

The Master calls out guards as they begin chasing. The original Master gets up off the floor and grabs her by the wrist. Their chase ends up in the basement. "Gotcha. " The Master says grinning.

"You think so?" Addams says as she presses her wristwatch and the three disappear.

The Master growls in frustration "Open the teleport and find him!"

The Master and the Fighter are back in the gate room. The Master is trying everything to find the Doctor and bring him down, but to no avail.

The Fighter is playing with her necklace as she twirls it to the ticking of the clock in her head. The Master has another plan set in motion. "Night has fallen. Are we ready?"

"Every single one of us is prepared." One of his other copies replies.

"Then we listen. All of us, across the world, just listen." The whole Master population holds their breath and listens. "Concentrate. Find the signal. There! The sound is tangible. Someone could only have designed this. But who?"

"The signal has been sent. A simple task of four beats transmitted back through time, and implanted in the Master's mind as a child. The sound of a ticking clock ready to countdown has been transmitted through time and implanted in the Fighter's mind as a child." The Chancellor announced to Rassilon.

Rassilon smirked "Then we have a link to where they are right now."

"But we're still trapped inside the Timelock, sir. The link is nothing more than a thought, an idea."

"Then we need something to make the contact physical. Something so simple."

The Visionary begins to mumble "So small and shining. Shining bright and cold. The tiny, tiny star, falling, falling, burning, burning, burning."

Rassilon's eyes widen in realization "Small enough to follow the link. And if this were on Earth." He stands up, slamming his hands on the desk. "The Fighter, it's on her! We just need to activate it!"

The Fighter was still twriling her necklace when it suddenly began to get hot. "Ow!" She quickly grabbed it and plucked it off, throwing it on the ground.

"What? What's wrong?" The Master asked looking concerned.

"The necklace my mom gave me...it suddenly started burning up!"

The Master looked over at the necklace on the ground as his eyes widened "That's a Whitepoint Star!"

Wilfred walks around the spaceship corridor lost "Doctor? Hello? Hello? Is that you? Doctor? Anyone? Anyone? Oh, I think I'm lost."

Suddenly the two woman from before appear to him. The brown haired woman spoke "And yet you are found. Events are closing. The day is almost upon us. But tell me, old soldier. Did you take arms?"

"I brought this." Wilfred holds up his gun "But what am I supposed to do?"

The Green haired Time Lady spoke "This is the Doctor's final battle. At the end of his life, he must stand at arms, or lose himself and all this world, to the End of Time."

"But he never carries guns. He doesn't do. Who are you two?"

"I was lost, so very long ago." The Brown haired woman said.

The emotionless Green haired Time Lady put a comforting hand on the other woman's shoulder. She then turned to look at Wilfred "And as for me, you already know me. See you soon Soldier." And the two woman disappeared.

The Master spoke into the intercom calling out to where the Doctor may be "Doctor, The Fighter's necklace her mother gave her began burning. Someone's calling out to us. The whole of our life, our destiny! The diamond on her necklace was a Whitepoint star!"

He goes to pickup the star necklace which has now stopped burning. "Now the star is mine. I can increase the signal and use it as a lifeline. Do you get it now? Do you see? Keep watching, Doctor. This should be spectacular. Over and out."

The strawberry blonde Time Lady looks to her lover in concern "How is this possible? C-Could it possible be my mother? D-Did she know?"

The Master gently cups her cheek "We will soon find out my love." He takes the necklace and places it in a bed of wires within a gizmo. It begins to transmit the four beats from within the Master's head. "Come home."

The Fighter clutches her head as the clock sound in her head begins to tick faster and louder. "Uhhh! The clock sound, it's louder and ticking faster! Ahhhh!"

The blonde haired Time Lord looks to her sympathetic "We have contact!"

Rassilon is in the citadel, looking amoung the others of the High Council. "Now the High Council of Time Lords must vote. Whether we die here, today, or return to the waking world and complete the Ultimate Sanction. For this is the hour when either Gallifrey falls, or Gallifrey rises!"

"Gallifrey rises!" The other Time Lords yell.

"Gallifrey rises!" Rassilon yells smirking away.

The Fighter falls to the floor getting into a fetal possition as the sound becomes louder and louder, faster and faster. Her head feels like a ticking time bomb, ticking away to the end.

Suddenly someone puts their hand on her shoulder as it helps numb the pain. The Fighter looks up as her eyes go wide seeing who it is. She could never forget that long Green hair, serious yellow eyes and cold demeanor. Especially the crazy white long sleeved jumpsuit with straps that looked like a straight jacket. It was her in her 5th Incarnation.

The Fighter blinked "B-But how is this possible?"

The 5th Fighter grabbed her hand "Don't ask questions, we need to stop this now!" Once the Fighter was standing up, she looked over to where the Master stood with her necklace. It was shining and something was coming through the gate.

The 5th Fighter's face stayed cold as usual "I've called in reinforcements, they should be here soon."

The strawberry blonde Time Lady looked at her past self "Who?"

And just as she asked, she heard familiar voices behind her appear as they came into existence. It was all of The Doctor's past incarnations, The Master's past incarnations and all of her incarnations as well.

"But how is this possible? This is against the laws of time!"

A woman's laughter was heard as a young blonde Time Lady wearing the usual Time Lord garb walked up to her. It was her 1st Incarnation. "It was all your doing."

The Fighter looked around the room at all the familiar old faces as a smirk came to her face "I think I know how we can win this."
