Writer's Notes: Thank you Guest 1, Roxhall, and Goddess, for your reviews! I do have some things figured out to a point. I went into this story with Bellamy in mind as a pairing for Bella since I love Bellamy's character so much. I do love Lincoln in some capacity, but Bellamy holds my heart. I think that Lincoln is a good distraction, but hey, let's be honest. Bellamy is just HOT. I hope that everyone is enjoying the story so far! I am having some fun with this one. As always, don't forget to follow, favorite, and leave some reviews, letting me know what you think! Cheers!
[The Camp: 2 days later]
Tyler was feeling much better, still weak from being cut up and banged up a lot, but the pox was clear. They still had them in quarantine just to be sure.
"Training seems like a bad idea with your shoulder." Damon said, standing next to Bella, his arms crossed.
Bella pulled her shirt off over her head, stretching her shoulder as she did. It was stiff, but she wanted to move it around more to make sure it wouldn't get too stiff. "I'm fine."
"Okay but watch your shoulder."
"Don't worry brother, I'll be okay." She gave him a smile. She turned, looking at Dax. "Alright, don't go easy." She said and picked up the makeshift staff. She whirled it around with her good hand.
Dax smiled. "Oh, I won't." He said and charged at her hard, his own makeshift staff in hand.
Bella swung her staff around, knocking him away from her and then gripping with both hands and spinning around knocking Dax backwards, his staff came back around, and it knocked hers free from her hands, but her foot hooked his staff, disarming him as well. They went into hand-to-hand seamlessly. Most of it was blocks and strikes, but neither landed anything on each other, until Bella say her opening, bring around a spinning roundhouse kick to his face, and followed up with back kick and then swept his leg out from under him all in one fluid motion.
He recovered, propelling himself back to his feet and struck out at her, catching her in her side, but she caught his arm, locking it, and swinging her hurt arm around and striking his chest, she then took her foot and propelled herself up and around onto Dax's back, putting him into a headlock. He struggled for a few moments before going to his knees, and he tapped her arm, and she released him. He sucked in air, coughing a little.
"You good?" Bella asked, extending a hand to help him up.
Dax took her hand, getting to his feet, nodding. "I'm good." He nodded to her shoulder. "You popped a stitch.
Bella glanced at her shoulder. "So, I did." She said and looked back at him. "Thanks for the spar."
"Anytime." He said and fist bumped her.
Bellamy shook his head. "You do realize that constantly ripping your stitches isn't going to allow it to heal."
"Meh, makes the skin tougher."
"That's not how that works." Bellamy said with a smirk.
"Listen to him." Damon said. "You should be taking it easy."
"I-"Bella cut off when something broke the atmosphere, falling towards the ground. "It's the Ark…." she murmured.
Everyone turned and was looking up at the sky, silently watching as some parts of the Ark exploded before it even hit the ground.
"There's no way anyone survived that…" Bella finally said as the last of the Ark impacted the ground.
"I agree." Bellamy said.
Bella nodded and looked around. "Alright, the Ark is on the ground. If there are any survivors, it's unlikely they'll be able to find out camp with how far off it crashed. Keep adding to our defenses we already have. We have other things to worry about. Don't lose sight of it." She announced, and then people started going back to what they were doing.
Clarke limped out, looking around. "Bella!"
Bella frowned and then turned towards Clarke. "You're supposed to be off your foot."
"The Ark crashed?!"
"Yes, and- "
"My mom was on there. Oh god." Clarke said looking towards where the smoke was billowing up in the distance.
Bella made it to Clarke, and she put both hands on her shoulders. "Listen. We can't worry about that right now."
"What if people survived?"
"Then they survived, and they'll figure it out." Bella said.
"What? No, we can't just let them fend for themselves. There are grounders that are dangerous and-"
"Clarke. You already knew that we were going to distance ourselves from the rest of the Ark. I'm not sending people on a scouting mission to the Ark, only to encounter possibly death along the way, or imprisonment by the guard." Bella said. "We have to let it go."
Clarke looked at Bella. "You're a monster." She said, her voice wavering.
Bella nodded. "Then I'm a monster. Get back to your bunk."
"You can't- "
"Dax, Stefan. Take her to her bunk." Bella said, and Dax and Stefan took Clarke back into the drop ship, Clarke cussing them the whole way.
Bella sighed, rubbing a hand over her face to her temple, a headache starting to form.
Bellamy came up behind Bella, his hands over to her shoulder, massaging close to her neck, feeling the tension. "You should take a moment."
"Yeah. That's probably a good idea." She murmured, closing her eyes. "Supply closet."
"Oh, it's that kind of moment?" Bellamy said with a smile.
Bella turned and looked at him. "Yes. You are my stress reliever."
"Somehow I feel used." Bellamy said with a nod.
"Okay, I'll just go ask Jazz or maybe Dax would- "
Bellamy leaned in and kissed her to shut her up, and then pulled back. "Use me all you want." He said with a smile.
Bella smiled and headed up to the drop ship, heading to the supply closet to wait on Bellamy.
Bellamy blew out a breath, but then Damon walked over to him, distracting him. "What's up?"
"Oh nothing. You're about to go uh, service Bella, so I won't keep you long."
"Damon- "
Damon waved a hand, dismissing it. "Make sure she takes care of her shoulder. I'm worried about her getting it infected, or it not healing."
Bellamy nodded. "I will. She's more susceptible to listening to me, after she's…. destressed."
Damon smiled. "Well, she's stubborn for sure. Good luck." He said and then slapped Bellamy on the back and laughed, walking away.
Bellamy went to the supply closet, finding Bella waiting patiently. "You know, the entire camp knows that this closet is the only closet for privacy."
"I know."
"And a dozen or more people just saw me come in here after you." Bellamy pointed out.
Bella arched a brow. "Are you getting to a point?"
"Oh no point, but they definitely know there's something more going on here."
"I don't particularly care." She said and smiled up at him.
Bellamy smiled back and then leaned in and kissed her softly at first, only for the kiss to turn into more of a hunger, her hands rushing to get his pants off, his hands doing the same before positioning himself and hoisting her up and thrusting into her. She clung around him, muffling her moans so no one could hear her, by burying her face in his shoulder. His power and speed made her lose herself sometimes. When she peaked, she moved her mouth over his, drinking in his pleasure while he drank in hers. He thrust up into her hard a few times before spilling over himself. He kissed her deeply, bringing one hand up to her face and brushing her hair back.
"You're beautiful…"He murmured, and kissed her again. He let her down to her feet and they pulled on their pants.
Bella looked up at Bellamy, who was looking at her with a different look than most days. "What?"
"Nothing." Bellamy said, and then ran a hand through his hair. "You need to get your shoulder cleaned up and you really should be taking it easy."
Bella studied him. "Okay. I'll give it another week before I do too much more. Will that satisfy your request?"
"It would." Bellamy said with a nod.
She leaned up and kissed him again. "I'll have Lincoln fix my arm." She murmured, and cupped his face, looking at him. She saw a softness to Bellamy, and could really see that he cared for her. She was starting to get some strange feelings about it herself, but she just pushed them away. The other night, she blamed her emotions on the drink concoction that Monty and Jasper made.
"What?" Bellamy asked when she just stared at him for a long moment, caressing his face gently. It was strange for her to behave like this for too long.
"Nothing I just…." She dropped her hand. "I'm going to go see Lincoln about my shoulder." She said and then turned and left the supply closet.
Bellamy sighed, taking a couple moments to gather his thoughts before going back outside.
Bella was over where they set up a medic tent for Lincoln, and she was sitting while Lincoln fixed her shoulder up again.
"You keep ripping this stitch, it's going to take longer to heal." Lincoln said.
"Everyone keeps telling me that." Bella said. "I'll be okay. I'm going to take the week off to rest it."
"Good." Lincoln said and then replaced the bandage on her shoulder. "The Ark crashing. Everyone is talking about it."
Bella sighed. "There's likely no survivors."
"But if there is?"
Bella looked at Lincoln. "I'm not going to risk everyone. The other grounders are too quiet. You said so yourself, they sent Ty with the pox to weaken us. How long will it take before they do attack?"
Lincoln looked at her, studying her. She was what a true leader was. She was worried about her people, and she would fight to the death for them. Ana was ruthless and had those same qualities and even more. "I don't know when they will attack. I just know that they will."
"So, I'm not sending a group to scout the Ark crash site because we need to be vigilant here."
"I'm not disagreeing." Lincoln said. "Maybe instead of waiting for them to come to you, you go to them. There's a bridge that they have to cross to get to your camp. Take out the bridge, it will buy you more time. Then you can send scouts to the Ark."
Bella looked at him shaking her head. "Who know who was on that Ark? The Guard. They sent all of us down here, sure Jaha pardoned us for crimes that we should have never been arrested for in the first place, but who's to say they will renege on their word, now that Jaha is probably dead?"
"Fair points." Lincoln said with a nod. "But there were still children, and parents of these people here that deserve a shot at being reunited."
Bella looked away, looking at the people in the camp. They were busy sparring, or making things, or inspecting the wall. Anything to keep busy.
"You're a good leader Bella," Lincoln said and stood straight. "Your decisions, I will follow."
"Even if we're not the same?"
"I bleed like you bleed. Just because I was born on the ground, doesn't mean that I won't follow your lead." Lincoln said. "Believe it or not, not all grounders are terrible like Ana is. There are several tribes. My tribe was only one."
Bella stood, looking at Lincoln. "Is it safer with the other tribes?"
"Some tribe leaders don't like violence or war, only using it as a necessary component to protect themselves. The commander isn't happy with her, seeing how Ana's behavior threatens the coalition. Our wars have always been with the Mountain men or reapers that live in the mountains."
Bella listened to everything. "The mountain men, they occupy Mount Weather…
"Yes."
"They are taking your people and bringing them into Mount Weather. And you never see them again, correct?"
Lincoln nodded.
"Has Ana tried fighting them directly, or is it mostly defensive tactics?"
"Defensive, we don't know where the entrance is on Mount Weather, if we knew, then we could launch more offensive attacks, we just don't have that information."
Bella had a thought. "Okay." She said and then walked away, leaving Lincoln a little confused. She jogged up the ramp and went to the console, walking past Bellamy. She started typing something, bringing up some coordinates.
"What are you doing?" Bellamy asked as he leaned over her shoulder, looking at the screen.
"Mount Weather." Bella said, looking at the screen. "These are the old blueprints of the base. Lincoln said that the Mountain Men take their people and they never come back. Ana doesn't know where the entrance is to the base."
"And you're looking at the blueprints to find the entrance." Bellamy put together.
"Exactly. If we can find the entrance to Mount Weather, we can take Mount Weather for ourselves. It will give us an advantage over the other grounders, and the remaining Ark survivors if there are any." Bella said and then pointed at the screen. "Looks like the entrance is located on the west side."
Bellamy leaned up. "Taking that base will be tricky. We don't know what to expect on the inside. If they're taking grounders and bringing them there, it's likely they have some sort of militarized units."
Bella nodded. "This is true, but there is another smaller bunker about 30 miles south of us. The bunker is small, but it could have some stuff we could use."
"Okay, a 30-mile hike will take at the least in this terrain, 12 hours. You're talking about an entire day if you try to hike back right after, not counting what we could encounter in the woods." Bellamy said. "We would be gone two days tops."
"And the Ark crash is at least 60 miles away, and even farther. We need to defend what we have. Lincoln said there's a bridge that the grounders must cross to get to us. If we take out the bridge, then that gives us time to go to the bunker and back, and start our next plan." Bella said.
Bellamy looked back at the screen. "Do we still have access to satellites? Even with the Ark here on the ground?"
Bella looked back at the screen, typing something, the screen shifting, and she looked at the screen, studying it. "Yes, we have access to satellites."
"Can you use the imaging system? I know when my father was on the guard, he talked about being able to get images of Earth for the research they needed to determine the progress after the nuclear war." Bellamy explained.
Bella looked back at the screen, and studied it more, typing a few things. "Yes, but it requires authorization. It might-"
Bellamy leaned over her and typed a few things, and it gave her authorization.
"How?"
"My dad. He wasn't very careful about his passwords." Bellamy explained as he leaned up.
Bella was in awe of how amazing the picture quality was from the satellite. "Here's our camp." She said, zooming in. "Oh wow. I can see Jazz and Nik sparring." She murmured.
Bellamy nodded. "That's amazing." He paused. "Then you can check on the Ark crash site. We would know if there were survivors right?"
"You're brilliant." Bella said with a smile. She typed a few things the camera shifting and landing on the Ark crash. "Looks like there is some movement." She murmured. She zoomed in more the pixels taking time to shift and become clear. "That's Abby." Bella murmured.
Clarke shot up off her bunk. "What?"
"Oh, you're not sleeping." Bella muttered. "Your mother is alive, calm down." She said.
Clarke limped over to the screen, Bellamy reaching out and grabbing her before she fell over, and held her up. "She's alive!" Tears came to her eyes.
"Yes, and it looks like Marcus Kane is too." Bella murmured. "There's a handful of people so far. I count maybe a dozen. There was what 3000 people or so left? Depending on how many Jaha actually killed off or culled before Damon took him out."
Bellamy nodded. "Yeah, but with a landing like that…"
"True." Bella said and then looked at Clarke. "Listen, I have to worry about stuff on this camp right now. Your mom is alive. That's good, and we can check on them with the camera. I'm not sending people to go investigate it because it's too dangerous right now."
Clarke looked at Bella. "She's alive."
"Yes. That's all that matters, right?"
Clarke nodded, feeling pain in her foot, and leaned against Bellamy for support.
"Alright, let's get you back in your bunk." Bellamy said and half carried Clarke back for her to lay down.
Bella sighed, shaking her head and looking back at the screen, she maneuvered the camera to the coordinates of where Mount Weather was, looking around. It seemed like the base was underground, which is why it made it hard to find. She found the entrance on the west side, zooming in as far as she could on the door.
Bellamy returned and looked at the screen. "Some sort of security system in place. Card readers like on the Ark." He pointed out.
"Yeah. I wonder how many cameras they have, and if they're in the woods too." Bella murmured.
A gong sound sounded, and Bella glanced over towards the woods. "The fog is rolling in." She murmured and looked back to the screen. "Bell look." She pointed.
Bellamy looked at the screen, a green fog filling the air from a large metal chute from the ground.
"It's the mountain men. They're releasing the fog. It's not a strange nuclear side effect." Bella said and looked at him.
"They're doing it to prevent the grounders from leaving that area." Bellamy said. "It protects the grounders from getting too close to the actual base."
This information would help them a lot. Especially if they were going to infiltrate the Mountain Men, and take the base for themselves. This would take some more planning, but they didn't have too much time. They needed to take out the bridge first to give them the days they needed to go to the other bunker to gather weapons, that hopefully were still there. It was a chance that they just had to take.
