Bella rotated her shoulder her little bit, testing her range of motion while she waited for Jazz, Stefan, and Niklaus to get to the gate.

"I should go." Bellamy said, trying to convince her.

"Bell, you need to be here."

"You're blowing up a bridge." Bellamy said. "You could get hurt."

Bella arched a brow. "I'm always doing something dangerous Bell, if I stopped now, then I wouldn't have any fun." She said and smiled.

Niklaus made his way over to the gate. "Alright, I have the rocket fuel, we have to be careful about it since it's unstable inside glass containers."

"Got it, where's Stef and Jazz?"

"Here," they both called as they jogged up.

"Alright, we do this fast. We blow up the bridge, and haul ass out of there. The poison fog has lifted in the area. It's going to be dark soon, and that means low visibility." Bella said. "Set the rocket fuel up, and then I'll take the shot once everyone is out of the way. Everyone understand?"

There were some nods.

"Okay, Bell take a look at the satellites I want you to get a better read on that bunker. See if you see if it's being occupied currently, or if it's safe to take a team to the bunker to get supplies."

Bellamy sighed, but nodded.

Bella looked at him. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"I'll be back."

Bellamy crossed his arms. "I know. I'm just…worried. Rocket fuel and all, so be extra careful."

Bella nodded. "I will." She checked her sidearm, and then holstered it, and then carefully put the pack on with the rocket fuel.

Bellamy went to her, his hand going to her face to turn her to face him. "I'm serious. Be careful."

"Bellamy, I'm going to be alright."

"Okay." He said and dropped his hand, he started to turn, but she stopped him, leaning up to kiss him.

"That's so you don't pout." Bella said with a smile and patted his face. She turned to the other three. "Alright, let's go. Dax, open the gate." She called out, and the gate started opening. The four set out to the bridge to blow it up, and hopefully make it back without incident.

Bellamy watched her leave, feeling uneasy about everything.

"You love her." Lincoln said as he came to stand next to Bellamy.

Bellamy looked over at Lincoln. "No."

"The way you worry about her, and the way you look at her, betrays you Bellamy."

"I care a lot about her. She's shouldering a lot of responsibility. I know I can get the bridge taken care of, but she rather me sit here."

"She's keeping you out of danger." Lincoln said.

"Why?"

"Because she cares about you too." Lincoln said.

Bellamy nodded. "You care about her, and you haven't known her that long."

Lincoln studied Bellamy. "She's different in spirit than most of you here. She is special, I saw that in her. I do care about what happens to her, which is why I decided to help, and give up my only home I have ever known."

Bellamy agreed with Lincoln on that matter. She was different and special. He looked back at the closed gate, and just hoped that she made it back okay.

[The Bridge]

The hike to the bridge was farther than they anticipated, but they got there as night fell around them. You could hear sounds of the cicadas in the tree, singing to the hot, humid air. Bella crouched down, slowly setting her pack down.

"Alright, Nik, set the rocket fuel in place carefully. Stef, Jazz, watch for trouble." She whispered to them and they moved getting in place, and Niklaus carefully set up the rocket fuel in the spots necessary to successfully blow up the bridge. He doubled back fast, and when he was clear, Bella aimed, exhaling as she pulled the trigger. The blast was enormous, sending the bridge up in pieces, and in flames. Bella whistled sharply once, and the other three fell in, running through the woods, with Bella taking up the rear. When they got a safe distance away, they stopped running so hard, and took a breath.

"That went smoothly." Stefan said, taking a few deep breaths to calm his lungs.

Bella looked towards the direction of the bridge. "I'm sure there is another way around, but at least it'll slow them down for now."

Niklaus went on the alert, hearing something snap a twig or branch in the woods. "Bella," He murmured lowly.

They all took a defensive position, looking towards the trees. The darkness was a disadvantage to them, especially with the tree canopies blocking the light from the moon. They heard a low growl.

"It's an animal." Jazz said, and looked towards the sound of the growl.

"Okay, stay tight, back-to-back." Bella said and they backed up to each other. The growls sounded again, and then something moved in the woods. Bella saw the silhouette of a creature, and she thought back to their studies on the Ark. It was possible it was a wolf, but what sort of mutations would it have with the nuclear fallout.

The creature struck at them, and it was fast, faster than any of them anticipated and it bit into Stefan's leg, and he cried out, but before any of them could shoot the creature, it retreated, circling them from the darkness of the trees.

"Stef!" Bella called to him. "Are you okay?"

"Peachy." Stefan muttered. "Its teeth hurt."

The growling continued, and Stefan had to lean against Niklaus to keep himself upright.

Bella herd the movement and it attacked her, its jaws coming around her left arm, sinking into her flesh. She reacted fast, shooting it into its ear, and it yiped and fell to the ground before them. Bella inspected the creature. The fur was beautiful, like the pictures of wolves she had seen in books. It had three eyes, which was different from the books, and it was tailless. Blood pooled out from the bullet wound, and soaked the earth beneath it. Bella stood and looked at Stefan. "Can you walk?"

"After I wrap this." Stefan said, and pulled his shirt off, ripping it to fashion a makeshift bandage.

Jazz turned his attention to Bella, lifting her arm. "This is bad."

Bella looked at it. "Yeah, probably need stitches for this." She sighed.

Jazz nodded and then ripped his shirt off them, using the shredded shirt to tie it over the wounds. "We will have to fix it when we return, none of us have medical supplies on us." He murmured.

Bella nodded, looking back down at the wolf. "I want to bring it back with us."

"Why?" Niklaus asked.

"Because the fur can be used. Also, food." Bella said and then winced a little when Jazz tightened the shirt over her arm. "Alright, let's keep moving. I don't know if he was alone, or if they hunt in packs. We need to get out of here and under the moonlight." She said and then stooped, grabbing the paws of the wolf and testing its weight. "He's pretty decently sized, probably like sixty pounds."

Jazz grabbed the wolf, hoisting it up and throwing it over his shoulder. "I got it, come on." He said and they started through the woods again, Niklaus helping Stefan when he needed it, especially to climb down slopes.

[The Camp: Early in the morning]

Bellamy was standing at the gate, taking over the watch to be there, hopefully when Bella made it back. He knew that she wouldn't be back that night because they left with it getting dark outside. They heard an explosion deep in the woods seven hours or so ago. Now the sun was rising above the horizon, shedding light on everything it touched.

Bellamy herd a whistle, and looked towards the gate.

"Open it!" Bella called out; her voice strained.

Bellamy hurried to open the gate, pulling it back and seeing Bella and Niklaus, with an injured Stefan, and Jazz carrying something large and furry.

Bella moved past Bellamy with Stefan and Niklaus. "Get Lincoln." She said to Damon as he jogged up. She got Stefan sitting on the ground.

Stefan groaned. "Setting me down easier would have been nice."

"Quit bitching." Bella said. "You are a fucking magnet for those things."

Bellamy rushed towards them, seeing Stefan bloodied and shirtless on the ground. In fact, everyone was shirtless, including Bella, who was standing there in her sports bra, her arm wrapped in a bloodied shirt, and her other hand wrapped in strips of bloody shirt. "What happened to you guys?"

Jazz dumped the wolf on the ground. "That." He pointed to it. "We got attacked after we blew the bridge up. He got Stef and Bella, but Bella killed it. We got attacked again, by two that flanked us. It went for Stef first, because he was obviously worse off, and the other grabbed Bella's arm again. Definitely need stitches."

Lincoln ran up, a bag slung on his shoulder with Damon following right behind him. He went to Bella first, but she waved a hand.

"Stefan first. He's pretty bad."

Lincoln hesitated, but then stooped down to help Stefan. "You met the wolf pack." He said.

"Yes, you can say that."

"Ana trains these wolves." Lincoln said. "They roam free, but they always return to her in the morning, usually with something like prey. Used for food, or other things." He said and took a bottle of liquid and poured it over Stefan's wounds, flushing them out. "I am surprised you killed one, they are hard to take down."

"Tell me about it." Bella muttered. "We killed three."

Lincoln looked up at her. "3?"

Niklaus nodded. "Yeah, all Bella. I couldn't get a shot in, but she's also a quicker draw than me."

Jazz rotated his shoulder some. "I could only carry one back, so the other two are dead in the woods."

Bella swayed a little, and Bellamy caught her against him, and she just rested there. "Thank you."

"You need to sit." Bellamy murmured.

"I will." Bella said with a nod.

Bellamy sighed and then kissed the top of her head, his hands circling her waist from behind. "Then lean on me more." He said.

Bella took him up on that, leaning into him, feeling warm, and safe with him holding her.

Lincoln only glanced over at her and Bellamy, but focused on Stefan. "You lost a lot of blood." He said to Stefan.

"Yeah, that's what happens when you're mauled." Stefan said, wincing as Lincoln worked on stitching up the marks on his leg.

Once Lincoln got all the stitches in on Stefan's leg, and on his side, he put salve over it, and bandaged it. "Go and rest." He said, and Niklaus helped Stefan up from the ground and half carried him inside the drop ship. "You, sit." Lincoln said to Bella, and she sighed, walking over, and sitting on a log that they used for seating in the camp. Lincoln unwrapped her arm, the blood oozing out when he did. He frowned. "He got you really good." He murmured.

"Looks worse than it feels." Bella said. She looked over at Bellamy, who was standing there, arms crossed. "Did you take look with the satellites on the bunker?"

"I did."

"Good. We need to start that way soon."

"Not we. I am going to start that way with a team. You're going to stay here and recover." Bellamy told her.

"Bell- "

"I'm not asking, I'm telling you." Bellamy said, his eyes showing her that he was serious.

Bella looked at him. "I'm not disabled. It's just a flesh wound. I'll be fine."

Lincoln looked at her. "You've lost a lot of blood and need rest. Listen to your boyfriend." He said, as he flushed the wound out with a liquid that burned some.

Bella winced, her brows drawing together as it sizzled in the wound. She looked at Bellamy. "Fine, take Dax, Raven, and Collin. Double time getting there. You have a long journey. Bring first aid. When you get there, you bunk down for the night, do not cross this terrain in the dark. Take what you can carry, but not too much where it's going to hinder you from getting back safely."

"Aww, you care about me." Bellamy teased a little.

"Don't make me hit you." Bella said, glaring at him.

Lincoln put the stitches in her arm, closing the bleeding wound. "Yes, night travel is more dangerous. However, it can work to your advantage when dealing with my tribe. The bunker is 30 miles away, and you will encounter a large stream. Cross that stream carefully, the depth of it is shallow, but the current is strong. "he explained, bandaging Bella's arm and then looked at Bella's other hand, unwrapping it and fixing it up too.

Bellamy nodded. "Okay, any crazy creatures living in it?"

"Other than fish, nothing like the spring." Lincoln said and then stood when he finished Bella's hand.

Bella stood. "I can- "

"Bella, I'm not going to argue with you about this." Bellamy said. "You're hurt, let me do my job." He said looking at her.

Lincoln walked over and stooped over the wolf. "I'll process it. Clean the meat away, harvest what I can." He said and then lifted it with ease. "Bella, go rest." He stopped to tell her and then walked away.

Bella sighed and looked at Bellamy. "I just don't want you to get hurt."

"Seriously?"

"What?"

"You just came back mangled and you're reasoning for me not going is, so I don't get hurt?" Bellamy looked at her, shaking his head.

Bella frowned. "I don't want anyone to get hurt. It's dangerous out there and I just think that- "

"You can handle the terrain better than me?" Bellamy asked raising a brow.

"I didn't say that."

"Bella," Bellamy reached for her, and drew her close to him. "I'm going to be okay. We need to get to the bunker, and get what we can to help take Mount Weather, which already going to be dangerous enough. We're in this together, no matter what."

Bella stared up into his dark eyes. "You're not my boyfriend."

Bellamy smirked. "Everyone seems to think so."

"So."

"So, I don't care what they think about us, or say about us." Bellamy said and then leaned in and kissed her slow, deep.

Bella kissed him back, feeling the tears threaten and she pulled back.

Bellamy reached up, brushing the tear from her cheek that managed to escape. "You care what happens to me. Just like I care what happens to you. We're tagging out. You stay and rest, while I go do the second part of the mission. When I return, then we can strategize how we'll take Mount Weather…together."

Bella nodded, swallowing back more tears. She was an idiot. "If you don't make it back, I'm going to hunt you down and kill you myself." She half pouted.

Bellamy smiled at her again. Her blue eyes were bright, defiant, and still held strength and power in them. She may have been covered in dirt, but he saw past all that. "I wouldn't expect anything less." He kissed her again, drawing it out just a little longer than he intended, before pulling away. "Now, let's get you to your bunk." He said and slid his arm around her waist, and walked with her into the drop ship, to get her laying down before he headed out with his team to retrieve weapons they would need for Mount Weather.
