Writer's Notes: Thank you delia, Roxhall, and Guest 1 for your reviews! I imagine Ana is pretty pissed considering three of her wolves are dead, but they have no bridge, so now they must take the long way around to do anything. I do have a book already written. I have a writer's packet together to submit to a publishing company, I'm just really harsh on myself, and I'm not ready to release it. I'm really critical on myself, and I just don't know if it's worthy or not, despite it being over 300 pages. Who knows, I need to just go for it one of these days and finally just put it out there. As always, I appreciate all of you! Don't forget to follow, favorite, and review! Cheers!
[The Ark: Crash Site]
Abby heard the intense ringing in her ears as she stumbled out of the crashed Ark. She found Marcus Kane almost immediately, blood trickling from his head. "Kane!" She shouted, and it grabbed his attention. He blinked at her, focusing on her lips, as the ringing started to subside.
"Abby."
"Are you okay?"
Kane blinked a few more times. "Yes…" He said and looked around. The ground was so green, and the air was denser than on the Ark. "Anyone else alive?"
Abby looked around, seeing some people pulling themselves out of the crashed Ark. "Yes." She said, turning back to him. She reached up and inspected the cut on his head. It was superficial, so it didn't need stitches.
"I don't see the kids." Kane said and looked back at her. "We crashed far off."
"I'm sure we did. We had a malfunction while hitting the atmosphere."
"We have to count the wounded, the survivors." Kane said and turned back towards the shattered Ark.
Between Abby and Kane, they managed to get a head count on 56 people alive. Parts of the Ark had exploded when it ripped apart while falling. This was only part of the Ark, and they had no clue if there were other parts of the Ark elsewhere. They had some supplies that managed to survive the crash, but they would have to learn how to gather what they could from the Earth.
[The Bunker: 30 miles from camp]
Bellamy, Dax, Raven, and Collin walked around the outside of the bunker, inspecting everything before they opened it up and went down inside.
"It hasn't been disturbed at all." Raven said as she swung her light around and her weapon. Dust was caked on everything in thick layers, and cobwebs lined the ceiling and corners of the bunker. There were rows of shelving with boxes on it. Some were labeled MRE, and then first aid supplies.
Dax picked up one of the MRE. "MREs have a shelf life of 5-10 years. This is useless." He muttered and put it back in the box. He looked through the first aid supplies. Bandages would be useful.
"There's some clothes in here," Raven said as she found the bunks and opened a chest that had clothes, old military uniforms from the looks of it, and some plain t-shirts that were navy in color. "Boots too." She said, spying the combat boots.
Bellamy moved through bunker, finding a metal cage that was locked. Inside there were an arsenal of weapons. "Bingo. Found the weapons." He said, and Collin moved into the room with him "We need to break the lock and see what there is. I see some sort of explosive on the shelf."
Dax found a white box thing, and he opened it. "Bell."
Bellamy turned and walked back towards Dax. "What?"
"Dynamite." He said, staring down at the large cache of dynamite. There had to be 500 sticks."
"Okay. We need to return with Niklaus. He knows more about explosi-"
Raven sighed. "You guys, move back," she said as she looked down at the dynamite. "Okay, dynamite like this is extremely sensitive. We need to keep it from the humidity. The humidity will cause this to expand, and when it expands."
"Boom." Dax said and nodded.
Bellamy looked at Raven. "Aren't you a mechanic?"
Raven shrugged. "I know a little bit about everything." She said and smiled. "So, if we can find a smaller box. Load like 20-30 sticks in it, and keep it shut tight, and not drop it as we hike 30 miles, then it should be fine. Oh, and keep each stick wrapped like it is here."
Bellamy looked at Collin. "Go find an airtight box. Something that can fit 30 sticks." He said and Colin nodded, searching the bunker for something to put the dynamite in.
Raven found a large sea bag in the bunks room, and threw what she could fit in there clothing wise, including the sheets off the bunks and blankets.
Dax went to take a look at the armory cage, and inspected the lock.
Collin returned with a case. "Look at this." He said, setting it on the table for Bellamy to look at.
"What is it?"
"This is future tech. The nuclear fallout happened what? 97 years ago? So why do they have equipment like this that we use on the Ark?" Colin asked.
Bellamy inspected it. "The chips are sophisticated. This is a Bella or Jasper J question. We'll bring it back and have them figure out what it's used for. Did you find more of this?"
"Yeah, that back room has various things. Including some more medical equipment, like a defibrillator." Colin said.
Bellamy nodded. "Alright, we pack up what we can. We leave out at first light to make it back to camp.
"Got it!" Dax called, as he picked the lock on the cage.
Bellamy walked back there to look, and smiled, slapping Dax on the back. "Fuck yeah man." He said and they looked at the guns. "There's a mixture here. Older weapons and some newer looking ones like what we use on the Ark." He said, looking at Dax. "What does this mean?"
"Maybe our data is just wrong? It wouldn't be the first time we got something wrong." Dax suggested.
"Maybe." Bellamy murmured. They loaded another sea bag with what they could carry, which was still a lot and then waited for morning to come.
[The Camp: The next day]
Bella found Lincoln in the medic tent after doing some morning rounds. It was past noon now. "Do you ever sleep?"
Lincoln looked up at her. "Sometimes. How's the arm?"
Bella held it up. "It's fine. Stefan is still sleeping. I gave him more pain meds in the night."
"He's going to feel weak for a while." Lincoln said, and then turned back to mixing something.
"What are you doing?"
"Mixing more salves. I went this morning into the forest to gather herbs."
Bella nodded and looked towards the gate. "I should look at the satellite, check on them and-"
"They're okay. Bella, you are stressing." Lincoln said, looking up at her.
"Can't help it."
Lincoln nodded. "Because you love Bellamy."
Bella looked at Lincoln. "Lincoln, it's not like that. I…" she stopped herself. "I care a lot about him." She said after a moment."
"It's okay to love someone." Lincoln said, and then poured something into his mixture. "Love and compassion sets us apart from the wicked."
"Someone likes philosophy."
"Nothing philosophical about something that's true." Lincoln said and smiled at her.
Monty walked up, stretching his arms above his head. "Oh, hello Bella. How are you feeling?"
"Better." Bella smiled at him. "How's the new concoctions going?"
"Jasper is still knocked out." Monty said with a grin.
"I will have to sample this concoction if it knocked Jasper out for this long." She said with a smile.
"Oh, it is potent." Monty said with a nod, and looked to Lincoln. "I have some purified alcohol for you like requested."
Lincoln nodded. "Thanks Monty." He smiled and then glanced up as Damon walked over.
"Was there a party over here and I missed it?" Damon asked.
"Not a party, just watching Lincoln do medicine stuff." Monty said with a grin. "Oh, before I forget. We have started making individual huts inside the wall so we can get people out of the drop ship for privacy. I think Caroline has the list since she was released from quarantine. She's wanting to know who wants to be hut mates."
Damon nodded. "I'll go find Caroline then." He said and slapped Monty's shoulder. "Bells, go rest!" he called to her and walked away to go find Caroline.
Bella rolled her eyes. "I've rested so much today already, that I'm tired of just resting." She hadn't really rested that much, she just hated sitting still for too long.
Lincoln shook his head. "Sit. Let me look at your arm." He said, and made her sit on the log, while he unbandaged her arm, and looked at her wound. He flushed it out again to keep the stitches clean, and then put more salve on it, before bandaging it again. "Take your shirt off."
Bella arched a brow. "Demanding today are we?" She said and carefully pulled her shirt up, with Lincoln's help, his fingers brushing her skin lightly.
He looked at her shoulder, pulling the bandage off, and cleaning it out again, and replaced the salve, and bandages. "We should change the dressing on your arm twice a day. There's some drainage, and I don't want it to get infected." He said and then grabbed something out of his satchel and handed it to her. "It's natural antibiotics, it'll help combat infection or prevent infection."
Bella took it, drinking it, but wrinkling her nose at the bad taste. "That's awful."
"Medicine isn't supposed to taste good." Lincoln said with a smile.
Bella looked at her watch and sighed. "If they left this morning at daybreak, then they should already be more than halfway here."
"Factor in supply load. They could be carrying 80-100 lbs of extra weight." Lincoln reminded her.
Bella sighed. "You're right." She said and then stood. "Thanks."
Lincoln stared up at her. "I'm going to tell you something I think you need to hear." He said and stood as well. "You're taking on a lot of responsibility. Learn to delegate. You're injured, people see that, and see how hard you keep pushing yourself. It's inspiring, however, if you keep pushing yourself without restraint, you'll end up doing more harm. You can't help all of your people if you're dead Bella."
And she heard his words, and they sat heavier than she wanted to admit. She just nodded, and walked away, wanting to make more rounds to check on everyone to distract herself from the fact she had people outside their wall.
[5 hours later]
"They're back!" Jazz called, him and Damon getting the gate open.
Bella jogged down the ramp of the drop ship, watching Bellamy and the other three walk through the gate, sweat pouring off them carrying bags on their back, and Bellamy had two bags, one strapped to the front and one on his back.
"Murphy, help Colin, he's carrying dynamite. Carefully set his bag down." Bellamy called out to Murphy, who came running over to help Colin.
Bella went to Bellamy, reaching for the straps of the sea bag on the front and helped slide it off, setting it to the ground carefully. It was heavy, at least 70 lbs.
Bellamy smiled, looking down at her with a tired look. "I made it back, as promised." He murmured and then slid his bag off his back. "We left stuff behind, and another trip should get the rest if we have an extra two people."
"What all did you guys find?"
"Medical supplies, some advanced tech, and of course weapons." Bellamy relayed.
Raven set her bag down, blowing out a breath. "Water, someone." She asked, and Caroline tossed her a bottle of water and she caught it and took a long drink. A thirteen-hour hike with a 70 lb. sea bag on her back was exhausting.
"Niklaus, sort the dynamite out carefully with Murphy. Caroline, you and Taz get the sea bags containing medical supplies and-"
"Clothes and blankets." Raven supplied.
"Ric you and Damon handle the weapons." Bella gave everyone a task. She looked at Dax and Colin. "You two, go get cleaned up, get some good rest." Then she looked at Raven. "You too Raven."
Raven nodded. "You don't have to tell me twice." She said and walked up into the drop ship to change her shirt and lay in her bunk.
Bella looked at Bellamy. "You need to rest as well." She said, her blue eyes staring up at him.
"Yeah, that's on my list of things to do." He said and then reached out, his hand resting on her hip before he pulled her to him. His mouth went to hers, and he kissed her deep. Nothing sobers you up as a man like carrying back 30 sticks of dynamite, almost dying, but he wasn't going to tell Bella about his near-death encounter just yet.
"You need to wash up too. Come on." She said and took his hand and guided him off towards the area they rigged up for an outdoor shower. Monty and Jasper J were geniuses.
Bellamy followed her, and smiled when she turned and pulled his shirt off for him. "You know, this is an outdoor shower. We have no privacy, I- "
"Oh hush. I'm trying to be nice." She said and then hit the pedal and the water sprayed out. It was cool water and Bellamy turned in it, welcoming the cooling relief it had on his tired muscles and skin.
"Caroline is talking about putting screens up to make this more private." Bella said with a smile.
"Oh, that's a great idea. Don't know why we haven't done it yet." He said and shook his hair, the water spraying out.
Bella smiled and released the pedal, and then reached over and grabbed a folded blanket off the log that Caroline carefully left folded blankets on for drying off. She handed it to Bellamy, and he dried his face, and then he leaned in and kissed Bella again. "Mmm. You need to get inside, and change and get some rest."
Bellamy dropped the blanket, and then moved his hands over her hips, to her butt and groped her a little, pulling her against him. "I'm wanting something different than what you're suggesting."
Bella smiled. "Well, after you've rested."
"What if I'm not tired?"
"Then I'd say you're lying because you just hiked half a day today carrying 140 lbs. of gear." Bella said, and smiled against his lips when he dipped down and kissed her again.
Bellamy leaned back and took one hand and combed his fingers through her hair, caressing her cheek. "I almost died today." He murmured.
Bella frowned. "What?" She said and leaned back.
"I almost died today, and I only thought about you. How I couldn't die without telling you that I love you." Bellamy murmured.
Bella felt her heart start beating erratically in her chest, feeling heat rush to her face, and she felt…. joy, that he loved her, but she was upset that he had nearly lost his life. "What happened?" she stammered out.
"Crossing the stream, Colin handed me the pack with the dynamite, while he crossed with my bag, with the weapons. He slipped, the current taking his feet out from under him. The dynamite is unstable. You can't get it wet, and you can't let humidity get to it, or it'll swell, and combust. I reacted, grabbing Colin up out of the stream, but nearly cost myself. Fortunately, I fell forward into the stream, and not on my back because that would have blown us all up."
Bella stared up at him not sure what to say.
"I love you….I need you to know that. We're never promised tomorrow. If I don't tell you now, and if I keep denying my own feelings, then I will regret it. I don't want regrets Bella."
Bella felt the tears rise, and she blinked them away, then she just leaned forward, her lips connecting with his, her tongue sliding over his, drinking him in. Her heart was racing, and she felt like it might just explode out of her chest.
Bellamy held her to him, kissing her back through the tears that she rarely shed. "Bella…say something…." he murmured against her lips.
"I love you too." She said, her voice tight with emotion. She looked up at him, her eyes shining with tears, tears that were a mixture of happy and anxiety. Loving him, meant that she would always worry about him when she didn't see him in front of her.
Bellamy let out a shaky breath. "You love me…." He murmured.
"I do…. would you be my hut mate?"
"Your what?" Bellamy asked, smiling at her when he pulled back.
"Caroline is going around with a list. We're building the huts outside the drop ship. To get everyone some space, so we're not on top of each other." She said, sniffing a little, and wiping her face.
Bellamy smiled. "I rather like being on top of you." He murmured, leaning in and giving her a teasing kiss. "I want to take you right now, but we're far too exposed."
Bella glanced around, and then grabbed his hand and pulled him to behind the drop ship. There was a small area that was completely hidden from view of anyone.
"Oh, I didn't know this was behind here." He murmured, and then she was pulling him to her, her mouth ravaging his, her hands hooking on his pants. His hands did the same with her pants, sliding them down over her butt, and pinning her up against the drop ship, his hard cock finding her entrance, and shoving inside quickly. They both groaned as he thrust, his throbbing member filling her up, tight. Her mouth moved over his as he plunged harder and faster into her, until she tensed up around him, her body giving in to the ultimate pleasure, and climaxing, orgasming hard around him. She shuddered around him and then she felt him swell tight, thrusting into her deep and releasing himself, his essence coating her insides. He pumped his hips a few more times before sliding out of her, and letting her down to her feet. He kissed her quickly, before pulling his pants up, and then helped her pull hers up, his hands caressing her slightly as he did.
"Now we can go rest." He murmured, and kissed her again.
They walked back to the drop ship, running into Caroline. "Oh, hey guys. Bella are you and Bell going to be hut mates?" She asked with a smile.
"Yes." Bellamy answered smirking. "We have enough materials to get the huts built?"
"So, Damon and Nik have been gathering the wood we need to build them. They're more like little cabins. We have fit four people per hut." Caroline explained.
Bellamy nodded. "Does Jazz and Dax have bunks yet?"
Caroline looked over her list. "No."
"You can throw them with us if they want." Bellamy said, and then wrapped his arm around Bella's shoulders. "We're going to lay down for a bit, tell Damon he's got charge."
Caroline nodded. "Will do! You two look like you're going to fall out any moment. Definitely go catch some sleep." She said with a smile.
Bella smiled at Caroline. "Thank you." She said and then her and Bellamy went up inside the drop ship, going over to Bella's bunk and Bellamy laid down, and then reached for Bella, and she laid down with him, half on top of him, but that's how he preferred it.
Before long, both of them were asleep, cuddled together, Bellamy still shirtless, which Bella really enjoyed.
