Ch 17 Day One: Introduction
Dumbledore sat behind his desk, facing Umbridge with Ritsuka, Hinako, Da Vinci, Koyanskaya, James, Lily, and McGonagall. "Headmaster Dumbledore, what on earth you were thinking incorporating foreign food in replacement of the traditional dishes?" the Toad questions the old man.
"Professor Umbridge, I can understand your standpoint." Dumbledore closes his eyes. " But I do believe incorporating foreign delicacies will increase the children's curiosity of the world outside of Britain." He explains his reasons to the unpleasant woman.
"And why would the students want to leave Britain? There's nothing out there but uncivilized Muggles." Umbridge said what she believes.
'By the grail, she's more delusional than our version.' Ritsuka looked away from the ridiculous spew from this woman.
"More importantly why is Mr. Potter here and alive with that pink-haired freak?" Umbridge eyed the Magus standing next to the Headmaster. "I find it hardly believable that Mr. Potter here is from another dimension, it's more likely that the Potters hid him to gain more popularity from the public eye,"
Lily steps forward to face the woman she despises. "It is true, anything else would be impossible to believe." She stood up for her 'son'.
Umbridge simply smirks at Lily, humming to herself. "Professor Potter, enough of your fabricated lies." She hums. "It's clear to me that after your son came back from the Third Task. He and Mr. Diggory conjured a plan to become more famous."
James had enough of this Toad. "How dare you accuse my son as a fame-seeking brat!" He exclaims at his higher up in his other job. "Harry is nothing like those people!" he defended his son's honor.
"Captain Potter, need to remind you that you are speaking to your higher up," Umbridge informs the Potter head. "If you so ever speak to me like that again, I'll have you stripped to a lower grunt and be replaced by someone…more suitable for the job," she smiles at the Captain.
James stood down, not wanting to lose the position he worked hard for. "Now then, Mr. Potter tell us the truth on how you were able to fool the entire Wizarding World?" she eyed the young man.
"Professor Umbridge, what Dumbledore announced is true." Ritsuka planted his ground, facing an unreasonable woman. "I have come from another dimension; Dumbledore found a means to communicate between planes via Phoenix. Upon contact, he and I converse about our worlds."
"After a few months of conversing, he came up with an idea that someone with outside experiences from the Wizarding World should teach the students here of the outside world." Ritsuka lied to the Undersecretary.
Dumbledore and the rest blink at Ritsuka, lying about his true motives on coming here. They were even impressed that he came up with that story on his own. Umbridge scoffs, not believing in one word he says. "Hem, hem, very well if you won't tell me then I'll find another way to get the truth out." she scoffs.
"Try as you may, Professor," Ritsuka said, uncaring the spiteful gaze from the Pink Toad.
"Another thing is why you have Muggles teaching students?" Umbridge sneers at Hinako, Da Vinci, and Koyanskaya. "We're you aware Dumbledore, have broken many laws against letting Muggles in this prestigious school? You're sullying Hogwarts's good name, Headmaster." She glares at the beings beneath her. She has a confident smile, seeing that she has an upper hand on the Headmaster.
"I wouldn't worry about them being a problem for the Ministry," Dumbledore said calmly. He opens his eyes, looking at Umbridge, "They have magical backgrounds that I looked into, so by law I haven't sully Hogwarts's name, Professor."
Umbridge huffed, knowing what she thinks they are. "So they're squibs" Her eyes filled with disgust towards them. she turns around in a huff, can't take looking at those squibs. "I'll see if they have met the Ministry's standings during my observations." She huffed away so full of herself.
Once the woman left, Dumbledore slump into his chair. Sighing in relief, letting his stress out. "Headmaster, are you alright?" Lily rushed over to the old Wizard.
Dumbledore smiles at one of his brightest students. "I'm fine Lily, my dear, I was just releasing some of my annoyance out." He ensures the red-haired girl.
Koyanskaya sighs, crossing her arms. "I do wonder, can't you do something about that Umbitch? Like, limit her power of the Ministry she has when on school grounds?" The Alter Ego asked the Headmaster, seething at the thought of the deform human.
James's eyes lit up, liking the idea suggested by Tamamo Vitch. "Yeah, can't we do what Koyanskaya just suggested?" James supports the Alter Ego's suggestion.
"At last, I cannot." Dumbledore sighs, feeling all defeated. "Professor Umbridge has the full support from the Department of Magical Education. Anything she says will be fully implemented by the department." He informs the group in his office.
Dumbledore looks at Ritsuka with a slight smile. "But I wouldn't worry about you and your classes, Ritsuka, Caster." He said to the two. "As long I'm working in the students' best interest then everything will be fine."
"So what you're saying that she can't fire the Professors if they have the students' best interests in mind," Hinako concluded what she believes he was saying.
McGonagall nodded, confirming her conclusion. "You are correct, Professor Akuta. Dolores doesn't have the power to fire or hire anyone she deems fit." She said to the True Ancestor. "Only Albus has that power."
Da Vinci sighs, crossing her arms. She was glad that Toad doesn't have any true power within the school. "Well, at least there's that good news." The Caster added in, with a sigh of relief.
"Yes, were are very fortunate for that," Dumbledore commented before looking at the time. "It seems it's getting late." He told the Professors.
They all looked at the time seeing it's half-past ten already. "Time sure moves fast. No kidding." James jokes, lighting the mood.
"It sure has, now everyone goes and get some rest." Dumbledore orders his instructors for a good night's rest, "Tomorrow is the official start of the term." The Wizards left the room after saying their goodnights to each other, Dumbledore looked perplexed seeing Ritsuka standing there.
"Ritsuka, what can I do for you?" Dumbledore asked the Magus before him, curious as to why he stayed when everyone else left.
"Headmaster, I need a favor from you once more," Ritsuka asked Dumbledore, walking over to him.
Dumbledore stroke his beard, curious about what his request might be. "And what might that be, Ritsuka?" he asked, getting more curious.
Jane sat down at her House's table, eating her lunch alone. She was relooking her class schedule for the day. "Defense Against the Dark Arts is tomorrow at the same time, today is Transfiguration, then…Lore." She winces hearing some of Harry's fangirls squeals behind her. She looks behind her seeing Cho Chang and Lavender giggling with joy.
"Merlin, I have the Lore class with you and the other girls!" Cho squealed in joy.
"I can't believe that this class allows all Houses to go together." Lavender squealed too, "We can look at Harry Potter all day," she and Cho went to their next class wanting to be done and over with.
Jane rolled her eyes, finishing her breakfast. "Jane," She looks to her side hearing her name being called by Ron. Jane saw Ron and Hermione walking over to them, books in their hands with bright smiles plastered on their faces.
"Jane are you excited about Ritsuka's class? Once the register was opened, I immediately signed up for his class." Hermione told her friend, clearly excited to learn more information. "Think about the historical figures we're going to learn!" she squeals, jumping in joy.
Ron sighs already know where this was going. He shakes it off, looking at Jane. "I didn't sign up for his class," Jane told her two friends before her.
"W-What? Jane, you need an extracurricular course for you to be able to graduate!" Hermione howler at her friend for not taking up the opportunity. "It doesn't matter what course you take as long you choose one." She explains to Jane once more.
Jane waved it off, "I will look for another extracurricular course, dad is running the Dueling class. Maybe I can do that." She informs her friends of her plans.
Hermione was astonished that Jane won't take the new course. She was about to scold her for not taking the opportunity when Ron held her shoulder. "Ron! What are you-" Hermione saw Ron shaking her head, not to get into an argument.
Ron's eyes graze over to Jane, she was obviously avoiding the class at any cost. "Jane, w-we'll meet you Transfiguration." Ron dragged Hermione out of the Hall.
The two went inside the hallway right outside the Great Hall. Hermione pulled back her arm from Ron's hand. "Ron, what the heck!?" She stares at his brown eyes, livid that he dragged her away from the Hall. "Why did frag me away like that-"
"Hermione, can't you tell that Jane was feeling uncomfortable?" Ron informs his friend. "She doesn't feel right whenever Ritsuka is mention."
"What!? How could she be uncomfortable with him?" Hermione questions Ron's motive. "Ritsuka is the most interesting person I've ever met-"
Ron shakes his head at the brunette. "Hermione, think of what Jane is feeling." He looks at her straight. "She felt uncomfortable around Ritsuka since he looks a lot like Harry, even the way he acts." He saw Hermione's eyes lit, realizing her mistake.
"O-Oh, I guess I should apologize to Jane. Right?" Hermione gave a nervous smirk.
"You should, Mione." Ron patted her shoulders, encouraging her to do so.
After Transfiguration Jane was about to leave the classroom when someone called her name. "Ms. Potter, can I speak with you for a moment please?" McGonagall called her student over her desk.
Jane turns around, staring at the cat Animagus sitting behind her desk. "Jane?" Neville looks at her, worried about her.
"It's fine, Neville." Jane ensures her friend with a smile. "Go on ahead. I'll see you at dinner." She watched Neville join Hermione and Ron before heading off to their next class, the Lore class.
Jane sighs, heading to see what McGonagall wants from her. Upon arriving at her desk she noticed that she has her schedule in her hands. "Ms. Potter, I want to ask you why you haven't chosen an extracurricular class this year?" she asked the young woman before her.
"Uh, I uh…there weren't any good classes available that piqued my interest, Professor." Jane chuckles nervously.
McGonagall notices the sweat from her temple. She sighs, disappointed in her. "Ms. Potter, I understand that Professor Fujimaru is a complicated subject for you; but that doesn't mean you need to put aside your education." She scolded for not considering her education first.
"B-But-"
"No buts, Ms. Potter." McGonagall places her foot down. she saw the displeasure written on her face; she folded her hands together looking at Jane. "Jane, at least try out the class. If you don't like t then I'll give you a free period."
Jane blinks, surprised that McGonagall would do that for her. "You would do that, Professor?" She asked her instructor.
"Only if you try out the class," McGonagall explains further on what she had in mind. "Do you understand, Ms. Potter?" she looks in her eyes, seeing if she understood what she said.
Jane was contemplating what her option was, whether to go to Ritsuka's class and try it out or face the repercussions later. The decision was simple to her. "Fine, I'll try it out." she gave her answer.
McGonagall nodded, happy that her student was willing to take this opportunity to learn something new. "I'm happy to hear that, Jane." She took a copy of her schedule and wrote down the Lore class. "I'm sure Professor Fujimaru would love another student joining his class." She sounded proud of Jane's decision.
Jane didn't say a word, she turns around and heads straight to where Ritsuka's room is. 'I can't believe I'm doing this.' She thought, feeling a bit nervous and unsure of herself if this was right.
"What's taking so long? We've been out here for at least ten minutes!" Ron whined, leaning on the wall. He was eager to sit down, he was tired after walking up to the third floor of the school.
Hermione slaps his arms for whining about how late it is. "Ron, it's the first day. He might need some time to set up the class." She explains to him
"Do you think he has forgotten that today's the first day of classes?" A Hufflepuff questions.
"No, he hasn't." Ginny scowls at the Hufflepuff girl. "Harry wouldn't dare to keep his one and only waiting! After all, I am his girlfriend." She puffs out her chest, showing her dominance to everyone present.
"YEAH!" The Harry Potter Fan Club exclaims, supporting Ginny's proclamation.
Ginny walks up to the wooden door, "Follow me, everyone, he won't be able to deny his fiancé's entry." She turns the doorknob and pushes the door. "What?" Ginny blinks, pushing the door only to be denied access to the room.
"WHY ISN'T THIS DAMN DOOR OPENING!?" Ginny hollower, pushing and pulling the door with her might.
Draco and the other Slytherins who were forced to take the class snickers at the sight of a desperate girl being denied by her love. "Wow, it seems Potter has rejected you, Weasley. Maybe you should try dating someone who is around your standards, oh wait Potter is the only one." He smirks, hearing his lackeys laugh behind him.
Ginny snaps her head over to Draco, furious for insulting her. "How about you mind your God damn business snake!" She hissed at the snob.
"Awe, look everyone the banshee turning red like a tomato!" Daphne snickers at the face Ginny is making.
The Slytherin laughs at Ginny causing the rest to sneer at them. "W-Wow, lookie here some stuck up cowards making a scene on the first day of classes; and to a student in the younger year too." Everyone turns to Jane walking over from the hall.
"Jane, what are you doing here?" Hermione was surprised to see her, thinking she would just be off somewhere in the school.
Jane simply smiles at her friends before her expression went sour. "Ohoho, it seems the little sister of the Boy-Who-Died finally showed her ugly face." Tracey has a smug look plastered on her face. "I'm quite surprised that you have shown up to Hogwarts. Is it because you realized that the only thing to do is to live up to Potter's reputation?" she insulted Jane.
"Ha! Using Harry's name like that, how low can you guys get?" Jane gave them a smug look, "Oh wait, you can't since snakes already slither on the filthy ground. It doesn't matter where you come from, you all are always going to be snakes." She walks up to them still holding the expression.
Many gasps at the comeback, the Slytherin were taken aback; can't even think of a good comeback. "W-Wait until my father hears about this!" Draco pulls out his repetitive tactic when things don't go his way. "H-He'll have you expelled. And thanks to Umbridge's influence she can do it right away!"
"Oh, I don't think so." Everyone turns around to see Ritsuka standing on the door frame in a white shirt, collar opened. Over his shirt were a blue vest, grey plaid pants, and black shoes. In his pocket were the glasses that Sigurd gave him for Valentines' day.
The Fan Club saw a bit of his toned chest from the collar, blushing a bit seeing it. 'Dear Merlin, he's hot!' that thought was in every mind of the girls who worship the Boy-Who-Lived.
"So it's true, Harry Potter has returned from the dead." Draco looked over at Ritsuka. "I heard you go by a different name, Riku Fukimuru." He scoffs, seeing the Half-blood before him.
Ritsuka remains silent, hearing the Slytherin snickers behind Draco. 'Oh, how Draco will hate meeting his doppelganger if he comes here.' He sighs before looking at the Slytherins. "Seeing that this is the first day of class, I'll let this slide."
"WHAT!?" Ron, Neville, Hermione, Jane, and everyone exclaims; their mouths gaping that Ritsuka would give the snakes a freebee.
The Slytherins smirks, already liking this class until Ritsuka said the next part. "However, the next time an insult is spoken in my class will be automatically given detention with Mr. Filch. And will have points taken off in their grade." He looks over to the students who smiles at the already flabbergasted Slytherins. "This includes everyone." He eyed each of his students.
"Do I make myself clear?" Ritsuka asked each one of his students.
"Yes, Professor." The students replied, some already liking this Harry while the others felt surreal about him being all mature and serious.
Ritsuka smiles, melting every girl's heart. "Good, now everyone inside. We have a lot to get to today." He walks back inside the classroom letting his students in.
Ron looks over to Hermione, Neville, and Jane with a smug look. "(I never expected Ritsuka to be like that! I mean he put the snakes in their places!)" He whispers, his face showed many emotions. Pride, excitement, eagerness, and many more when it comes to the Slytherins punishment.
"(Ron, he was talking to all of us!)" Hermione hissed, understanding what the newest Professor explained. (He doesn't mean just the Slytherins, his warning is for everyone; no matter which house he's in.)" the brunette explained to Ron's one-track mind.
"(WHAT! But he's in Gryffindor, he should be standing with us!)" Ron finally got what Ritsuka was saying, thanks to Hermione. (I mean, he is Harry even if he goes by a different name.)"
Jane shook her head, disagreeing with the red-haired boy. "(No, He's more of a Puff.)" She concluded, seeing how patient he is with her.
"(Really? I got the feeling he was in Ravenclaw due to his position now.)" Neville spoke, seeing the traits of a Ravenclaw within the Magus.
Jane nodded, remembering the wisdom that he gave that day. "(I think you're-)"
"If you four are done with your conversation, then I would like to get a class started." Ritsuka stood near the door, eyeing the four students. Tapping his finger on his hip, patiently waiting for them to finish.
The four jump upon hearing his words and instantly rushes into the room. "S-Sorry Ri-Professor." Hermione smiles nervously, following the four inside.
Upon entering the room, everyone froze at the sight of the place. The walls were all white, the floor is tilted silver, a huge circle with a crescent and olive branches around it was in the center. The desks were aligned into sets of two in four rows. At the front of the class was a clear board with a strange device on the side of rims, and a blue cylinder globe spinning on a silver disc.
"What is that thing?" Draco stares at the globe on the desk,
"A holographic globe? But that shouldn't be possible!" Hermione gasps, seeing the technology working fine in the school. "How could technology work when magic interferes with the electrical currents!?" She had her mouth ajar, demanding an answer on how it works.
"Wait, that's muggle technology!?" Ron blinks seeing the hologram, "How is it working!?"
Many of the students whisper among themselves, seeing the technology operational with no feedback. "It must be a trick!" Draco sneers. "Muggle tech shouldn't be allowed to work here!"
"You're right, however our world has mange to find a breakthrough between technology and magic." Everyone looked to see Hinako walking down the stairs to the office. The next person was a shock, a cute woman with glasses and violet hair followed the Assassin.
Ritsuka walks down the halls, letting his students make room for him. The girls of the Fan Club blushed, seeing the side of his face. He turns around, clapping his hands together. "Welcome to Lore, we'll be your Professors. Please take your seats," he asked his students.
The three noticed that the students separate into their respective houses. 'Hmm, maybe I should mix the seating a bit.' Ritsuka thought before going onward.
"Now before we go over the syllabus and the course, I do believe introductions would be advised." Ritsuka gazes upon his students' faces. "I'll go first," he announced.
Ritsuka smiles, placing his hand on his chest. "I am Fujimaru Ritsuka, or in English terms Ritsuka Fujimaru. I will be your Lore Professor in this term, I used to live in Japan for a few months before I move to my work." He introduces himself. "I am fond with history and mythology, often doing a bit of research in my spare time,"
Everyone except for Jane and the others were in shock, the Fan Club had their mouths open that their idol was a nerd and not the usual ladies man like before. Ginny however doesn't care; she just stares at him with googly eyes.
"(Tch, nerd,)" Draco scoffs, already disliking him.
"(Knew it!)" Neville cheered, nudging Ron's shoulder. Ron rolled his eyes, admitting he was wrong.
Ritsuka looks over to Hinako stepping forward. "Greetings, I am Hinako Akuta." She greeted them in a serious tone. "I'll be your Second Professor when Professor Fujimaru is away I'll take his place." She inclines her head.
The next one is the violet haired woman, "Hello everyone, I am Mashu Kyrielight. I am Professor Fujimaru's personal assistant." Mashu could feel the piercing glares of jealousy from most of the female students at her. She shook it off, not letting it get to her. "I'll be in and out from class, helping whenever I can. It's a pleasure to meet you all." She inclines her head.
"(Tch, bitch.)" Ginny sneers at Mashu, her outfit, her hair, and her personality sickens her. Many of the Fan Club could tell she is a threat; they'll deal with her later.
"(We'll teach her for getting near our prince.)" Cho gritted her teeth, clutching her fist.
"(Yeah, we'll make her regret the day she was born.)" Lavender smiles sadistically, hiding her face from everyone. "(Then our prince will love us, cherish us, for driving that bitch away!)"
Unaware of the group, three certain Goddesses were observing them, hidden within their spirit form. 'Yes, go and do that bitches. See what will happen if you go between that Demi-Servant and the human.' A red-haired Goddess smirks, eager to teach them a lesson. The other two Goddesses stood beside her, wanting them to make one mistake.
"Now that introductions are out and away, we'll be discussing the course." Ritsuka walks over to the board, turning it on to a black timeline. They all gasps at the once blank screen to a presentation that would be shown on a projector. "Mashu if you would," he looks at his wife.
"Hai!" Mashu took the books from the stack, placing them on each desk. "This textbook is important for this class, have it with you for the whole time." When she reaches up to the fangirls, they sneered at her, swiping the book from her hands.
Mashu ignores this, not wanting to play their game for she's an adult, not a child. "If you would all turn to page one, you'll see the exact timeline on the board."
"Professor Fujimaru?" Ritsuka turns to Hermione raising her hand.
"Yes, Hermione?" He asked,
Hermione looks at her book, seeing the timeline. "What does the timeline mean?"
"Great question, Hermione." Ritsuka smiles, points at the presentation. "The timeline represents our world's time, since this world and my world are share somethings history will be the same." He explains.
Hermione and those who are interested nodded, "The marks on the timeline are indicating the era and when it ended," He explains, seeing them take notes. "These eras are where this class will go into, The Age of Gods, The Age of Fairies, and the Age of Man." He looks at his students seeing hands up.
"Yes?"
"Why have you put Gods? They're just Muggle inventions for a good story!" Draco proclaims, being all high and mighty with his words.
"I see the Wizarding World is still arrogant with their beliefs." Ritsuka sighs, ignoring the outburst of enrage students. "QUIET!" His voice echoes throughout the room.
They all flinched never hearing Harry Potter raising his voice like that. "Not everything the Ministry says is true, in truth they're just stubborn to accept things like a mature person." he stated, "That's the reason I'm here, to open your eyes to the outside world by teaching you Mundane culture and history. Important lessons from people from history you should know." He looks at everyone, frightens by his harsh tone of voice.
Jane raised her hands in the air, gaining the confidence to ask a question. "Yes, Jane, what is it?" Ritsuka calmed down a bit.
"The timeline, it mentions fairies why is that?" Jane asked, reading about them one time in books.
Ritsuka cleared his throat, before explaining the period. "The Age of Fairies is still unknown, not much was recorded about it." He saw their eyes lit up with curiosity. "However we do have some records about people who are fairies,"
"Like Who?" Neville asked, getting really into the lesson.
"I'm sure you all know by now about her," Ritsuka smirks seeing their minds working. "Her name is Morgana Le Fay, the half-sister of Arthur Pendragon and mother of Sir Agravain, Gawain, and most famously Sir Mordred."
"WHAT!?"
"Yes, those three of the Knights of the Roundtable were conceived by the Fairy Princess," Ritsuka informs his students. "We're not going to go over Britannia until later in the year, we're going to the beginning with the Age of Gods in Babylonia."
"Babylonia?" Ron questions never heard of the name before.
"Oh! It's the fertile crescent between the Tigris and Euphrates river!" Hermione jumps, excited to learn more.
Ritsuka nodded, liking the enthusiasm Hermione display. "Yes, we're going over some notable figures." He wrote it down on the board with a marker. "For homework-" Ritsuka pause hearing the groans from everyone.
"Yes, you have homework and a final in this course," Ritsuka informs his students. "There will be no tests only a final exam, now for homework read the introduction to the Age of Gods. Next class, we'll be going over the three elements of the Age of Gods."
Everyone got up from their chairs, grabbing the textbook before Ritsuka stopped them. "Hold on, I didn't finish yet." He announced causing them to freeze in place.
"My office hours are on Tuesday and Thursday at four-thirty to five-forty," Ritsuka informed his students about his availability. "Everyone is welcome for extra help, now go on to your next class." He dismisses everyone.
Hinako steps up to her friend, patting his back. "Very professional Ritsuka. Very professional."
"You think? I was just following what I saw from the instructors of the Clocktower." Ritsuka smiles, admitting to his Servant.
"Ritsuka, the way you spoke to the students; you sounded like a real instructor." Mashu grins, proud of her husband of his first day.
"Thank you Mashu." Ritsuka smiles, before realizing something. "Hey Mashu, why did you introduce yourself as your maiden name instead of ours?" he asked curious about why.
"Oh, I just figured that it'll lead to some confusion when the students address us," Mashu explains, aware of the threat that those fangirls pose to Ritsuka if they find out he's taken.
Ritsuka blinks before shrugging it off. "Alright, if that's you want Mashu. I won't go into it." he smiles,
Hinako watches them seeing the hole they're digging, 'I swear, if that's where she's going, I pray for her safety.' She clear her throat gaining their attention. "Ritsuka, Mashu we should prepare for the next class."
"Right," Ritsuka walks over to his desk, preparing the books for his next class.
