All I saw was rain, it threw the world into gloomy sadness, making me feel ten times worse. As I stared out the window, returning to camp from my third foster family this month, I couldn't help but wonder whether I just wasn't meant to be a part time half-blood. Chiron was nice and all but because I was only a daughter of Hecate, there was no reason for me to be there all year round. And since my dad had died in a car crash when I was 3, it only left foster family. But even though I was only the daughter of a minor goddess, Chiron said I was more powerful than some main god kids. But he had watched me grow up since my dad died and wanted a normal life for me so tried to get me a foster family.

Since Percy had made a pact with the gods over 15 years ago all the demi-gods had been claimed within a month of their arrival and moved into their new cabin. I had been claimed on the same day that I arrived. Percy and his wife Annabeth were now camp directors, helping out Chiron with all the new campers. We had new classes in magic and loads of new skill sets not usually associated with our godly parents.

Today I had crafting with Leo and magic with Piper and Hazel. Being a child of Hecate, I was excellent at magic, especially controlling the mist. I could fully disguise myself amongst mortals with it and thus was incredibly important on stealth missions. I had never been on a real quest only "missions" to spy on certain monsters and sometimes Camp Jupiter. Still, I longed to be sent on a quest, to be useful.

I was jolted out of my thoughts by Chiron announcing we were at camp. We walked up the hill and beside the entrance, I saw a figure. Before I even realised who it was, my best friend Alice rushed up to me and enveloped me in a bone crunching hug. Alice was a daughter of Iris. She had dark brown hair and eyes that changed colour depending on her mood.

"Em!" She cooed, "I missed you!"

I'm Emmeline but my friends call me Em. I have black hair and eyes the colour of mist with highlights of green. I'm 14 like Alice and have been at Camp Half Blood part time for 9 years. Me and Alice had met up while I was journeying to Camp Half Blood. My dad had told me from a young age what I was and where I should go if anything happened to him and I recognised Alice as a half blood so brought her along. Since then we've been best friends.

Since the latest Great Prophesy was told by Rachel Elizabeth Dare, the Oracle, we've both been hoping to be the half bloods that are mentioned. I don't fully remember the prophesy because it was told when I had just arrived at camp but it tells of three half bloods who are children of minor gods going on a quest through The Ancient Lands to retrieve what was stolen.Me and Alice have always hoped it would be us. But who knows.
