Chapter 2: The fool, the princess and the king

Katniss arrives at Cinna's train compartment. Hoping that she'll get a little peace before the rush of the day. She isn't looking forward to all the people. Too many of them, asking way too many questions about everything. Their relationship, her family and a lot of other things that are none of their business. But that's the life of stars.

She sighs. At least she wouldn't have to worry about her outfit. She was sure Cinna got something in which she would look more than gorgeous. He was great at creating a new wonderful dress, always with a little surprise. That was his job, but he was amazing.

Of course her outfit would match Peeta's as always. Presenting them as a perfect couple, without flaws and so full of love. Disgusting. Every time she thinks about it, she can feel how her stomach turns. It's ridiculous to play the awesome winners in love for the cameras and trying to avoid him whenever no one can see it.

That this arrogant idiot had to be the one to play her partner for that was hard enough. That this stupid little shit actually was in love with her was even worse. She hopes that one day she will finally be able to get away from him. One thing is sure, she doesn't question it. She won't spend her whole life faking a love for an asshole just to keep the audience happy.

She takes a deep breath and enters Cinna's room, where she'll get dressed by him. And immediately wants to leave it again.

Of course Peeta had to be here. Right now, at her only safe place and happy moment of the day. But he's getting filmed, making a show about how good-looking he is. She bets a lot of girls would faint at the sight of how his bare chest, muscles playing.

Not she tough. She thinks that it's more than childish, she wouldn't encourage him to keep going. But she can't leave the room anymore, they would make a real drama out of it, to let the fans enjoy her private life once again. So she just rolls her eyes and leans at the wall, waiting for him to get finished.

Luckily the reporters don't care about her, too captured by the sight of being the arrogant person he is, hiding behind his looks.

Only Cinna looks at her for a moment. She can read a 'Sorry' in his eyes. Then he winks at her and continues his work.

As he finally managed to get Peeta to put something on that's more than just pants, he almost immediately sends him out of the room. The cameras follow him, to watch their champion eat his breakfast.

Katniss rolls her eyes for a last time and turns around to let Cinna take care of her too.

As soon as she looks at him, she bursts into laughter. He is imitating Peeta. And he's doing it pretty well, to be honest.

It gets even funnier, because he's already holding Katniss' dress for today. And it looks really stupid, a grown up man, holding a dress like he is wearing it, imitating a stupid little boy.

She enjoys her private little show, thankful for the distraction. Cinna is one of the only people that know how Peeta really is and therefore can understand Katniss's antipathy for him.

"Now come here, my dear", Cinna almost sings. You're going to look like a princess today! No, even better than any princess ever seen!"

He's really cute when he likes someone. And gladly, he likes Katniss. She admires his talent and likes him for always trying to cheer her up. He's for sure a little cinnamon roll, deep inside, so she has to admit that his name is more than just fitting.

She sighs while walking to him. She's going to wear that amazing dress today. And now this room, here with Cinna, she feels safe. No one can hurt her here.

She closes her eyes and smiles. The positive energy is what she is going to need to survive this day.

She looks up and nods. And Cinna begins to work.
