Chapter 4

Hadrian smirked as he looked at the headmaster who was so pale, he made a vampire look tan in comparison. With how word had spread of the troll attack it was unsurprising as many letters were sent home by Slytherin students and many wanted the headmaster removed from his position at Hogwarts but unfortunately, he was able to pull his influence and save his position at Hogwarts as well as his other positions.

It had been a quiet start to the day as they were nearing Christmas in December and as Hogwarts was preparing for students to leave for a couple weeks, Hadrian and his friends were preparing to get some heavy training in as they were unable to do much at Hogwarts with Dumbledore almost constantly watching them.

But that had little impact over all on their lives at the moment, currently Hadrian, Delphini, Hermione, Draco and Daphne were in the library thinking over what they were told last night by Snape, they may have been told to stay out of it but they were never great at following orders.

-Flashback to the night after the troll attack-

"What happened, and I want the truth," Snape asked as he looked at his charges.

"We were all in the Great hall after the teachers and other students had left. Not long after we had heard a knock on the door and then the troll burst into the great hall. Hadrian used his power to summon some shards of dark energon that stabbed into the back of the beast, killing it before it could attack us." Replied Hermione.

"Very well, but I suggest you all keep your heads down the rest of the year. The headmaster has a keen interest in you three." Drawled shape as he looked at Hadrian, Hermione, and Delphini.

"We will do our best." Came the response from the three.

-Flashback end-

Since then, all three have done their best to keep a low profile, despite feeling eyes almost constantly watching them from Dumbledore or one of his cronies. This did make it hard for Hadrian, Hermione, and Delphini to practice the powers that they got from their father, and while they could train in their shared mentalscape does not help them practice physically so that their bodies could adapt to the power flowing through them. After conversing with their parents, they decided that it would be best if they acted as normal as possible, or as normal as it is to be for wizards. They decided that it would be easier for them to focus on their studies ranking them in the top three in their classes. They also kept an eye on professor Quarrel as he started to act suspicious after the troll came barging in. Their mother Elizabeth said that he was one of her followers, but she is not so sure how loyal he is since her 'fall'. But in the end, it matters little they are just doing their best to blend into the background.

While they knew that Dumbledor had hidden the Philosopher's stone in the castle to hopefully lure their mother Elizabeth into a trap, or as a test for Hadrian if he was not found by his family. But they were unsure what Dumbledors plan was now as he had lost his key pawn, they did know that it might cause them trouble latter as Dumbledor has the people of Magical Britain in his pocket, he is the voice that the sheep all listen to despite the lies that he is constantly spewing from his mouth.

In the end it won't matter as when Hadrian, Hermione, and Delphini awaken their full power they would make the likes of Dumbledor and his followers like toddlers to their power. However, it will take a couple more years before their bodies are able to adapt to the power. For now they did their best to blend in to the rest of the students, though sometimes it doesn't matter.

-Time Skip-

It was the afternoon before finals and Hadrian and his group of friends all held the top spots in classes overall. They were also ahead by 200 house points. Followed by Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff in third, and in last place was Gryffindor. This was mostly the fault of one very foolish redhead who kept trying to rile up the Slytherins and get them to fight, why this was the case they did not know. In the end he confronted them in front of many people that usually led to him getting in trouble when a teacher, that was usually Snape, was nearby and punished him for his actions. And still after almost a year of this process repeating, he still did not stop. A prime example was right here outside of the potion's classroom as all the Slytherin and Gryffindor first years are waiting for snape to open the classroom so that they can begin their final un potions

The redhead approached the group with a scowl on his face alone as the rest of the Gryffindor students had all but abandoned him.

"Well, Well, Well, if it isn't the future Dark wizards, practicing dark arts so you can kill us all?" taunted the redhead.

"Oh look, it's an annoying Weasel, stay back he might yell at us." Smirked Hermione.

Weasley looked at the group in anger as his face turned as red as his hair.

"How dare you, all you're good for is making meals and kids," He replied. To the horror of the surrounding students.

"Well at least she has a family who wants her," replied Hadrian as he put a hand on Hermione's shoulder as he showed his support.

"Mr. Weasley, that will be 50 points from your house for insulting a fellow student." came the Voice of Snape from the door.

"But they insulted me!" exclaimed Weasley.

"That would be another 220 points for your attitude, I suggest you keep your mouth shut lest you lose more points," replied Snape with a sneer.

Weasley looked as if he was about to respond but the glare from Snape and his fellow classmates pulling him back kept him silent.

It was as quiet as a graveyard as Snape stalked to the front of the class looking as intimidating as ever. As he waved his wand to send the exams to each student.

"You may begin the exam; you have one hour." said Snape

-One Hour later-

"Put your pencils down, leave your exams face down and exit the room, I will grade them." Snape's voice echoed across the classroom as the first years got done.

The First years all worked their way out of the room and to their separate dormitories. Hadrian, Hermione, Delphini, Daphne, and Draco all smirked as they knew that they had the top 5 spots secured as they all aced that test. Tonight, was the feast before they leave tomorrow and go back to the privacy of Malfoy manor where they can continue refining and growing stronger.

For now they all decided to hang out in the common room till it was time to eat.

"Well, that test was easy," said Delphini.

"Of course, it was we all actually studied, unlike the Gryffindorks." replied Daphne as she smirked towards Delphini.

"Hey, it's not our fault he only has one brain cell," Draco said.

"Well at least we are smart enough to not start a fight in the hallways." Said Hadrian.

"That's true." snorted Hermione.

The conversation continued for the next few hours till they were called to the great hall for the feast. As they arrived, they noticed a couple things. The first is that Quirrell is not among the staff, the second is that Weasley and Longbottom both looked worse for wear. The third thing they noticed was the hall was decorated in Slytherin colors.

"What do you think happened to them?" asked Daphne.

"It's possible they went after the stone, but I doubt they got past Snape's trial," Responded Hermione.

"You know what his trial was?" Asked Draco.

"Of Course, father told me all about the trial protections the stone had in place as well as that Quirrell was after it for whatever reasons." Hermione told them.

"Then it is safe to say Quarrel is dead." Stated Hadrian.

"Most likely killed by father." said Delphini.

Dumbledor stood up to make his yearly announcements, first by starting out saying that professor Quirrell had to leave early for personal reasons. None of the Slytherins believed that for a moment as Dumbledore looked deeply upset about something.

"I would also like to award both Neville Longbottom and Ronald Weasley 200 points each for exemplary bravery in the face of danger. With that said I believe it is time for a change of colors." Dumbledore Smirked with a twinkle in his eyes.

The Slytherins all looked shocked that the house cup was rightfully theirs, but it was taken from them at the last minute.

"Hold on, headmaster, I would also like to give out some last-minute points" Said Snape. "To Hadrian, Hermione, and Delphin Riddle, 150 points each for exemplary scores in all your courses, I would also like to give Draco Malfoy, and Daphne Greengrass 50 points each for their well thought out responses, I was going to give them these points earlier but I did not have the time."

"Yes well..." Dumbledore stopped as he lost the twinkle in his eyes and frowned heavily..

The Slytherins all cheered that they won the house cup. Hadrian and his friends all smirked at each other, this was the start of a great summer, they could feel it.
