Note: the interviewer is a real comic character, so not my property (idea). And just can't remember her name though. And she will show up again (mentioned). Kat will simply reference her as "the woman." Nor do the pictures; and they correlate (in order) with the scenes they are tied to. And like with Kaleidoscope trying to incorporate as many characters as I can manage. And changed things a little from the basis some of these characters are stemmed from. Like a certain one's preference and using them since the comics and movie show that The Eternals sexes can change when they are born again.
And just going to let whoever reads this have their own interpretation, hence using them/they, because he/she will otherwise indicate this. And actually love that Disney/Marvel is (finally) becoming more diverse (than usual). Even though, normally hate when veer from the source material (comics in this case). And found out recently that Thor's mom is actually The Phoenix; so for the sake of this connecting stories, I am just going to ignore that. And as for Ikaris, well that is also left up to the reader since I love the character's complexity already. And really can't decide between the comic version or Richard Madden's.
She walks into the room, to see Kingo looking down at the table in front of him. "Hello, Sunen." "Ah, Lady Phoenix." Ignoring the honorfic, "what are you doing?" Seeing the papers facing him, "I am deciding which to choose." Seeing her expression, "you miss it don't you?!" He states. "I do. But focusing on my marriage to Ikaris is more important right now." "You know he wouldn't want you to be unhappy in any way." "But I'm not." "Well then, you can take a look and if anyone of them interest you. You can let me know and I will set something up for you. You know how it works you are going to have to have interviews at the same time, getting yourself back out there." "Thank you."
"Its fine. You can take a seat now, Ms. Pryce." "It's actually Mrs. Pryce." "First, thank you for agreeing to this. And how would that work?! And wouldn't it set a bad example for the feminist image you try to portray?!" "Well since my husband, technically doesn't have a last name. Adding the Mrs. was the obvious choice. And not really, my husband knows that I can handle myself. And he respects and admires that I am a strong, independent woman.
And while there is a difference between these two distinctions, being a feminist doesn't mean we are devoid of emotions. If a woman falls in love, well then, that is only natural. But it is her choice what she chooses to do after this?! I can only really speak for myself. I could have remained single but I knew that not having my husband in my life wasn't an option. Therefore, I haven't made a mockery of the feminist agenda, for it is never a weakness to admit one's feelings, but a strength.
My husband would have respected if I never married him or gently let him down and we had never dated. We more than likely would still be friends. And that is one of the reasons why I had no problem being with him. He saw and respected me for who I am." "And what is your husband's name?" "For now, we are keeping our relationship private. He knows what this life requires and he would rather focus on other things."
"So having his respect seem to be nothing but words on your part. You were beginning to take the world by storm. And become a movie A-lister; and suddenly you just fell off the face of the planet." Sitting up straighter, "I know what you are trying to do and implying; and I have heard from Susan what you tried to pull when you interviewed her all those years ago.
But let me tell you and this will be the last time, and if you refuse to believe me, that is on you. That choice had nothing to do with him. In fact, the opposite, through a mutual friend, I decided to return to this life. Our friend is the one choosing possible opportunities for me. Though leaving the final decision to me."
"And what about these flirtations with other men?! Surely, he isn't pleased with that?! Doesn't he feel threatened by this?!" "Sure, it isn't always easy on him. But he knows that I love him." "So, what about Dane Whitman, Johnny Storm, Remy LeBeau, Thor and Pietro Maximoff?!" "Wow, you are so gullible. Now I know what Susan went through with you!" "Excuse me?!"
"Well, you aren't. And you should be thankful that Sue was kinder than I am about to be. I have no problem embarrassing you and making you a laughing stock if I have to. First, what happens between my husband and I, in the end is our business. Its why his identity is still a secret. And despite attracting attention from others, like Reed Richards, he knows that at the end of the day; he is my choice. Dane Whitman despite his constant best efforts and he has really tried, falls short. And like Namor, he is never really going to have a chance. And even then, the Atlantean ruler had more of a shot with Susan at one point. But we picked the better men for us in the end. And that is all I will discuss about my personal life with you. Especially since my friends' marriage and lives are being discussed. Giving the example is more than enough, what they do is their own business.
You need to stop fishing where there is no scandal to be found. It is a disgrace to your profession. In fact, I have had enough of this." Getting up, Kathleen begins to leave. Turning back to the interviewer, facing the camera. "Reed, Susan, I apologize for you being brought into this. The same with Johnny, Thor, Remy and Pietro for things being twisted into something it isn't. Good day. And I hope I never see you again." Ripping the mic off, she continues walking away.
"Are you okay?!" "I'm fine, Sunen. Thank you." "Clearly, Hermes did his job?!" Kingo nods his head. Just as Sprite rounds the corner, "Kat!" Stopping in front of her, "do you want me to make her life a living hell?" "It's fine, Puck. People like that live in their own world. No matter how much truth is given, they prefer to stick to their theories." "Aikaterine?!"
The world melts away as he approaches. Taking her hands in his, "are you alright, my love?" Laying her head on his shoulder, "I'm fine. Did Hermes tell you as well?!" "Not just him, Sprite, Iris and Zephyr did as well. Thena and the others aren't happy either." "They are going to have to let it go, people like that aren't worth it." She begins to walk away as Ikaris keeps pace with her. Kingo and Sprite not straying far behind.
She turns the page as he continues his squats. "You do know that, that won't work on me, right?! Not when I am reading!" Halting his movement, his hands against his head, looking at her; before he starts walking to the bed. Climbing on it, "is that so?! It hasn't failed before. Either I am suddenly doing something wrong or what she said is true; and you have lost interest in me, for these more worthwhile men?! So, tell me how I can compete with the likes of Thor, Remy LeBeau and Johnny Storm?!"
"Hey, that's my book!" Ignoring her outburst, he tosses it over his shoulder. Pinning her to the bed, "Ika…Ikaris, come on." She manages to get out between the laughter. He gazes down at her, waiting for her amusement at his antics to pass. As the moment becomes sober, "are you okay?! You didn't find that curveball unsettling?!"
Shrugging his head, "I won't lie. Our personal life being put under a microscope like that isn't comfortable. So, I can understand why she thought her ignorance would reign supreme and paint you in a certain light, which I didn't appreciate either. Especially when these men are not only attractive, but they have no problem flirting with you openly. And you being cordial to them in return is being skewed into something perverse."
"Are you regretting being with me or keeping your identity a secret?" Taking her in his arms, "of course not. And you know why I am remaining hidden. Being leader of The Eternals means being in the spotlight is difficult. And this is even with me being a member of the UCWF. You know that I support you, but my duties can't be neglected. And you love what you do, and it does make keeping an eye on things there on Earth easier." "Okay." She whispers. Recoiling slightly, "am I mistaken?!" "No." She answers, turning her head. "It is what we agreed upon." "So, then what is it?! There is more to it than that, Aikaterine?!"
Clutching the sheet in her hand, looking at the linen. "…" Shock and surprise register on his face. "Say it again?!" Slowly raising her head, not relinquishing her grip on the material; "I'm pregnant." Grabbing her forearms, he pulls her to him, kissing her soundly. Upon breaking it, he runs his hand down her hair. "Is this what has you acting insecure?!"
Nodding her head, "you knew from the beginning I wouldn't be like them. That I see you for who you are, this doesn't change anything. To me, you have never been Rachel Summers. This fact won't have me cast you to the side. You know that I have been wanting children with you from the time we got together. And have been stopping nonstop upon marrying you to try to get you thus.
You also knew from the beginning my responsibilities could eclipse my relationship. Being a deity, I thought you understood this?! And why I had no problem with letting you go back to Hollywood. Not only does it make you happy, but it makes keeping an eye over humans easier. Even when you come across your former flames and lovers in the process?! Let me tell you it isn't always easy standing there as they flirt up a storm, not caring that I am there. I am still a man after all."
Cupping his face, he leans into her. As she runs her other hand through his hair. Before bringing his hand to her stomach, letting it lay there as he caresses it. "Let us put our lingering doubts away for now. Tell me about Icarus. What was he like?!" And is he why you waited with wanting to marry Margo?!"
Looking away as he holds himself up by his arms laying against the bed. "One of the reasons. But also, after Sersi, leaving me for someone else. It left me with a certain amount of insecurity. Especially when this man is now trying to vie for your attention now. For her to do that after being with her so long, I really thought what could I offer anyone if I am easily replaced for another, who is also a mortal?!"
"If it weren't so serious, I would honestly laugh at the absurdity of this comment. Haven't I done enough to show that I am nothing like her?! What is it going to take for me to stop paying for how she hurt you?! And what about me, she has been trying to get you back; she doesn't care if I am standing right there?! I already told you on our wedding day, I wouldn't tolerate it." "And I haven't let her kiss me again. What more do you want, she is an Eternal as well?! I can't just cut her out of my life, especially when I am the leader."
Getting up from the bed, "wait, where are you going?!" A pillow and sheet in her hand. "To sleep in Eros's (Starfox) room. I can't be around you right now." Silently fuming at her choice of lodging, he turns his back to her covering himself with the blanket. Standing in the doorway, "before I leave, if your disdain for them is so great, why did you perform the Gann Josin between them then?! When you knew it would make her happy and cause you pain?!"
Throwing the blanket off, stalking to her. Stopping within arm's reach, "I did it more for me. I knew he also had feelings for Crystal. And even though, she left me for him. He would feel the torment I would feel for not having the one he loved. Besides, it didn't matter to him that she was married as well. Pietro was no obstacle nor consequence to him. I couldn't very well let him wanting it all to have gone unpunished." The punch sends him flying, staring up at her. "Do you even love me, this baby?! Or are we simply pawns in this game you seem to be playing; all in the effort and hope that she will one day come back to you? Was Margo, then you deserve all the hate Daniel feels?!" Holding his head in shame at things he never wanted his wife to hear and assume, the guilt racks through him.
