Notes: As their home world, DC1938, exploded due to a rare phenomena known as core fusion in the year 2185 CE, not much can be said about the planet's inhabitants. Their culture, history, and even their name have been lost to history; over five billion lives snuffed out in an instant. All save for one. One lone survivor, a male infant set adrift in an escape pod, survived and was picked up by the human cruiser, MSV Kent. While appearing near identical to humans, studies have shown that its biological makeup grants it strength far beyond that of even the strongest man. Without any record of their species' actual name, the scientists dubbed them kryians.
Character Notes: Since his infancy, Atlas Hughes was raised by the head scientists of a subterranean facility on the otherwise uninhabited, frozen world of TK. Being a remote planet, it was spared much of the Reaper's assault on the Milky Way Galaxy, though it was far from an ideal place to call home; with the exception of the scientists, there wasn't much life at all to speak of on the planet. From a young age, Atlas excelled at all of the physical tests he was placed under. At age twelve, he could lift a maximum of five tones, which increased to seven by the time he reached adulthood. He was also a fast learner when it came to his education, with history being his best subject. He was enthralled by the history of the Milky Way Galaxy, a grand legacy that had been brought to an end by the mechanical devils, the Reapers; the price the galaxy paid to finally be rid of them. He was also enthralled by the Andromeda Initiative, wondering what they would find when they awoke from the six hundred year sleep. Inspired by the tales of their past greatness, Atlas committed his life to the cause of rebuilding what had been lost and uniting the galaxy just as it had been before the destruction of the Citadel. No, he was aiming beyond that. He dreamed of finding a way to connect the Milky Way and the Andromeda galaxy. Of course, he knew that this was a far off dream, the people sent away to the Andromeda Galaxy wouldn't arrive for centuries, but he was determined to lay the groundwork for that eventuality. By age twenty, he was offered to join the Systems Alliance, but refused, believing that his strength would allow bad actors within the Alliance to use him as leverage in negotiations in an already fractured galaxy. Many of the scientists, who were placing their hopes on him, were outraged, but the head scientists, who had come to love him like their own son, respected his decision. Still, Atlas was determined to help, but said he would do it on his own terms. And that he did. Donning a suit of armor that concealed his identity, he helped the Systems Alliance, while not accepting a rank, and various other alien factions to rebuild the damaged relays. Throughout his travels, he became known for his immense strength, having settled many disputes single-handedly. His many exploits caught the eye of the remnants of the Citadel Council, who wasted no time offering him a position on the Spectres. Though he didn't like the idea of being placed above the law, he felt that it would give him the opportunity to achieve his goals, so he accepted. By age thirty-five, the Milky Way Galaxy was in a much better position that it had been. Many of the relays had been restored, which connected many severed worlds once more. The Second Andromeda Project eventually caught his eye, and, since the Milky Way was in a far better state now, he contemplated about whether or not his abilities would be better suited assisting in the colonization of new worlds. After discussing the matter with his parents, followed by many tears on both sides, he decided that he would join the expedition into dark space. Several months later, the arks were ready to embark on their long voyage. Atlas was made the pathfinder of the flagship, Zarathustra, and, after a tearful goodbye with his parents, he boarded the vessel and entered cryosleep. Before falling asleep, he took a deep breath, knowing that he was leaving yet another family. When he awoke six centuries later, he was greeted by the vast Andromeda Galaxy. While still distraught over all that he had left behind, he couldn't help but be amazed at the sight before him. He didn't have time to stand in awe and wonder though. He was a pathfinder, and he has a job to do. His task begins now.
