Notes: Before the arrival of the kett, Epimethia was a world seemingly lost in time. Lumbering beasts, known as titans, roam the planet. After untold eons, the first glimpse of sapience could be found in the gog. Named for the most common of the strange sounds that make up their primitive language, they are among the largest sapient races encountered by the Andromeda Initiative. Far larger than even the elcor, these giants are an incredibly simple folk, not even having mastered fire, much less space travel. Their simple, relatively peaceful existence was ended by the arrival of the kett. Upon seeing the strange metal beasts descend from the sky, they weren't sure what to think, and they were only confused more when the little men exited them. These little men would soon become their overlords, enslaving them with their superior technology. Some tribes were even taken up into the heavens by the metal birds the little men had arrived in, never to be seen again. Unlike most races conquered by the kett, however, they were spared the exaltation, the kett viewing their inferior intellect as a price not worth paying for their monstrous strength. Instead, the kett decided to use them for manual labor, effectively making them a slave-class within their empire.
Character Notes: There wasn't much that stood out about Ma' Gog from the rest of his species. A young male, he had yet to leave his family group when the kett arrived on his planet, and they wasted no time putting him and his family to work in their construction projects on the planet, using them for mostly heavy lifting and clearing out the towering trees that make up the vast forests of the planet. Ma' Gog didn't complain; such a thought was foreign to his species. All he knew was that as long as he did work for the little men from the sky, he wouldn't be punished by them, or hunted down by their big, metal birds, plus they were supplied with food everyday. To him and his people, it was just a new way of life that they adjusted to fairly quickly. That all changed again with the arrival of more little men from the sky, carried by more metal birds. They attacked the construction site that he had come to call home, and, despite him and his people doing his best to defend it, at the behest of the kett, they were soundly defeated by the new arrivals. However, much to his shock, the little men didn't go out of their way to kill him or the other gog. It seemed like their only targets were their former masters, and with them gone, they started acting as if they wanted to be friends. Ma' Gog thought that they were trying to communicate with him and the others, but he couldn't understand any of the phrases that came out of their mouths. However, since they seemed friendly enough to them, him and the others let them be. The little men soon got to work constructing more buildings, and Ma' Gog and the others assumed that they wanted their help. At first, it looked as though they tried to stop them, confusing the gog, but they soon allowed them to get back to work, though the hours weren't nearly as long. As time passed, more and more little men came down from the sky in metal birds, though these ones didn't seem to fight with the others. They all looked different, and many of them looked fearful when they looked upon Ma' Gog and his people, often keeping their distance. While Ma' Gog still doesn't quite understand the situation, he remains content with his life nonetheless.
