Harry's Halloween Horrors

Harry Potter collasped onto the love seat. He was so emotionally and physically exhausted, and he felt like curling up and sobbing. It was October 31st, 2020, and whilst this day was usually hard to get through, this year was so much harder because all of the kids were at school., and they always made the day so much easier to get through. Molly and Arthur had popped over, along with George, Ron, Hermione, Percy, Bill, Fleur, Angelina, Teddy and Kingsley. Whilst all these people tried to make him happy, the only people Harry wanted to spend the day with were Sirius, Remus, his kids and Ginny, but of course, 2 of those people were dead. "Harry?" Ginny called. She was in the kitchen, cleaning up from dinner, and throughout the day, she had been getting more and more worried about her husband. He had taken this day harder than usual and hadn't talked to her at all.

Ginny made her way into the lounge room and spotted her husband collapsed on the love seat. She sat carefully next to him, and he rested his head on her shoulder. He was shaking and shivering, and Ginny pulled him closer to her in a hug. "I miss the kids, Gin. I miss Sirius and Remus. I miss my parents."Harry whispered, and Ginny's heart broke at how vulnerable he sounded.

"I know you do, hon, I do too, but I'm here with you You can talk to me." Ginny wanted to help her husband through this, but she knew he would try and soldier on, and put up a cheery facade behind his true feelings. She felt the shoulder of her jacket getting soaked through by Harry's tears, but she couldn't care less.

"Every year, more and more people write letters and drop by, and try to make me happy. But I can't because I feel as though it is disrespecting their memories if I'm happy on the anniversary of their-their deaths." Harry said softly, and he lowered his head, tears spilling out of those pools of emerald ink.

"Oh Harry, your parents would want you to be happy, even on the anniversary of their deaths. Being happy doesn't mean you forget them or dishonour them." Ginny gave her husband a loving smile and was very happy when he returned it, albeit weakly. Ginny shifted slightly on the love seat and felt something in the back pocket of her jeans. She pulled it out without disrupting the hug between her and Harry. Ginny let out a small gasp when she realised what it was.

She kept one arm around Harry as she helped him sit up, and then pressed the photographs into her husband's hands. He looked at Ginny with blotchy red eyes, but his eyebrows were quirked curiously. And then he looked down at the image. It showed James ad Lily looking down at a baby in Lily's arms with eyes overflowing with love. Sirius and Remus were tickling baby Harry's toes, and the little bow was waving his fists in the air with joy. The group was laughing, and there was a peaceful look on all of their faces. Harry looked at Ginny, tears welling in his eyes. "Wh-where did you find this?" He asked. Ginny held his hand and looked into those emerald-green eyes she loved s much.

" I visited Godric's Hollow this morning, and I found it on the floor of your patent's old room. I forgot about it until just then.," Ginny replied. Harry opened his mouth as if to speak, but shut it and collapsed completely into Ginny's arms, and the two of them held each other as they sobbed. "Thank you Gin." harry whispered.
