Author's Notes:
Okay, so I know it seems a bit soon to post two new chapters in one day, but I was called off, and didn't have anything better to do. So here's another chapter! Hope you enjoy!
As Lincoln and Lynn are headed down to the kitchen, the other Loud siblings have already begun to dig into the mouth watering pancakes.
"Hurry and finish up guys. We're leaving in five minutes, and I won't wait for you if you're late." Lori announced.
Lincoln and Lynn flinch for a second until Lynn gets a smirk, "Last to finish their food has to sit in the springy seat!" Lynn jabs Lincoln in the arm, and races down the stairs.
"Ow- hey wait, what?!" Lincoln chases after Lynn after realizing the situation.
Lynn tackles into the pack of feisty kids and shovels her pancakes down as quickly as she can. Lincoln begins to walk towards the pack before a hand touches his shoulder.
"Hey Lincy!" It was none other than the light of his life Leni.
"Oh! H-hey Leni! Sorry I took so long! Did you eat already?" Lincoln stammered.
"Yep, and I totes got you covered too!" Leni raised the plastic bag she'd been holding and continued, "I didn't know when you'd be done in the shower, so I packed it for you to eat on the way to school!"
Lincoln could feel his heart beat rapidly in his chest as if it was trying to break free of the floorboards known as his rib cage. Everyone knew Leni was the most thoughtful of the siblings, but it always made Lincoln's heart flutter all the same. "T-thank you Leni! This means so much to me!"
As Lynn was wiping her face with a dish towel, she noticed the conversation and frowned.
"Aww, you're giving me too much credit, Lincy! Everyone knows that breaking fast in the morning is important! Although I still don't know what we're breaking and why it has to be fast." Leni pondered.
"Well, I still appreciate it, Leni!" Lincoln grabs his sister and hugs her tightly. This proves to be a poor idea as he gets a feel on her body and starts nodding off. Her strawberry-scented perfume fills his nostrils as he grasps her curvaceous figure.
"You're totes welcome! Now…if you don't mind just letting go a little bit." Leni gently pushes him off.
"O-oh right! I'm so sorry! Please forgive me!" Lincoln dropped to the ground and pleaded. He messed up, now his Angel was surely gonna see him as nothing but a nuisance!
"It's okay! You can always hug me!" Leni explains, "We just need to get on the van is what I meant." Leni points her thumb over her shoulder to the door.
"R-right!" Lincoln stammered.
As Lincoln was standing back up, the other louds, having finished their breakfast, rushed past him to the van. All except Lynn who walks at a normal pace.
"Let's go, Casanova." Lynn, looking mildly irritated, grabs Lincoln's arm and drags him to Vanzilla.
"Whoa! Okay, okay I get it!" Lincoln trips a little, and then adjusts to Lynn's place.
When Lynn and Lincoln make it to the van, Lynn shoves Lincoln into the springy seat.
"Hey! What gives?!" Lincoln exclaimed.
"You got gunk in your ears, Stinkoln? I told you, last to eat, has to sit on the springy seat, and you haven't even touched your food yet." Lynn reminded him.
Lincoln looked down at his packed breakfast, "Oh, right! Dang! I forgot!" Lincoln grumbles and accepts his fate.
During the car ride, everyone is making the usual ruckus except for Lynn. Lynn just puts her hand on her chin, and stares out the car window.
As Lincoln is eating his breakfast, he notices Lynn's strange behavior.
"You alright, Lynn?" Lincoln asked with concern.
"Hm? Oh, yea I'm fine." Lynn keeps her eyes focused outside the window as she stares at nothing in particular.
"Come on, you know I'm not gonna buy that." Lincoln scoots closer to Lynn and puts his hand on her shoulder as if to let her know that whatever it is, he'll understand.
Lynn looks back at Lincoln. She never really began to consider it until this morning when he hugged her, but he really is kind of cute. That snow, white hair with the little cowlick in the back. Those buck teeth that stand out like a rabbit's. Those pinchable cheeks that're decorated with delicate freckles. Before she gets too lost in thought, Lynn feels herself begin to blush. She looks away in embarrassment, and rubs her arm slowly. "I-I just…"
"Lynn, it's ok. I'm not gonna judge. You know that." Lincoln rubs her shoulder a bit to reassure her.
Lynn looks at Lincoln again, and quickly looks away, "Do…do you think…you could…maybe…hugmeagain."
"Huh?" Lynn said that last part a bit fast, so Lincoln didn't quite hear it.
Lynn grunts in frustration, "I said…can you hug me…again…"
Lincoln blinks in confusion for a moment, but snaps himself out of his daze, "Of course! C'mere, Ly-"
Before Lincoln could finish, Lynn wraps him in a hug with the strength of a boa constrictor.
"W-whoa, easy there! I'm not going anywhere." Lincoln returns her embrace and lightly pats her on the back.
Lynn just grips harder as if he was going to dissipate into nothingness if she loosened her grip even a little. She buried her head in the nook of his neck and rubbed up on him. "Thanks, Stinkoln."
Lincoln chuckled as he rubbed his sister's back, "No problem, sis."
They stay like this for a long while. After a bit, Leni turns around and notices. It's been about five minutes since they had started hugging, so she thought it would be best to say something.
"Hey guys, we're, like, pulling up to the schools so you might wanna ease up a little bit." As Leni said this, Lynn looked up from Lincoln's neck and glared at her.
"It's okay, Leni. I think Lynn's just having a rough morning, so she might just need someone to hold for a little bit." Lincoln explained.
"That's totes okay! I just didn't want you to start feeling smothered, Lin-" Leni started to reply.
"He said it's fine." Lynn sneered.
Leni, sensing Lynn's aggression, holds her hands up and turns back to her seat.
"Hey now, don't be like that to Leni." Lincoln says as he pats her.
Lynn rolls her eyes, "…sorry."
"It's okay, it's okay." Lincoln, once again, starts rubbing her back to calm her down.
Lori eventually reaches the elementary school, and parks in front of the building. "Alright, Lisa to Lincoln, you guys know what to do."
Lincoln hears this, and lightly pats Lynn on the back, "Sorry Lynn, looks like I gotta go now."
Lynn reluctantly loosens her grip, and Lincoln slides out of Vanzilla.
Lincoln turns back around to Lynn, "You gonna be okay?"
Lynn blushes and smiles sheepishly, "Yea, I think I'll make it."
"Okay, that's good! If anything goes wrong you can talk to me after school, okay?" Lincoln pats her on the shoulder.
Lynn lightly nods.
Lincoln smiles and starts to turn to the school.
"Wait…" Lynn stops him before he can get a good start on walking. "…thanks, Stinkoln."
Lincoln giggles at the remark, "No problem. Love ya sis!" Lincoln skips off towards the school. As Lincoln slowly makes it to the front door of the building, Lynn watches with dejected eyes.
"…Love you too…"
To be continued…
