Chapter 8

Personal Discovery

Xochitl began to flutter opened her eyes as the sun's morning rays flooded into her pup house. It had been more than a day since her awkward conversation with Everest, but despite her attempt to ask another girl pup about what she assumed was a girl thing, she still didn't have an explanation for what she'd been feeling.

"Maybe I should just ask Maria," she thought. "I mean, she isn't a pup, but she is still a girl."

After deciding what she was going to ask, Xochi stretched herself out for the stretching yawn she performed each day as she was about to crawl out of her pup house. This time however, a strange, but pleasant sensation shot through her body as it brushed against the ground. She then felt around where she suspected the feeling had originated. She then suddenly remembered her dream from the previous night. She was looking at the scene of herself and Tracker kissing three days prior, but for some reason she was looking up at the scene from below, with Tracker's… clearly in view, then the pleasant feelings increased, and within seconds she was rolled over on her back, her eyes closed, enraptured in the pleasant sensations. Xochitl then opened her eyes and saw her owner giving her an "oh" look.

"When you're done Xochi, can I talk to you for a sec?" she requested. "Don't worry," she smiled, "you'll know when."

20 minutes later, the xolo trotted into the house and up to her owner. Maria smiled at her and began explaining everything to her. One rather embarrassing conversation later, Xochitl nervously asked, "So… I shouldn't do that?"

Maria looked back at her as if she was being silly. "Of course not, it's a perfectly healthy way for you to work through your feelings for you know who," she winked, "just keep it private," informed her owner.

"Do you do it too?" asked the xoloitzcuintli out of genuine curiosity.

Maria blushed at the question. "Like I said, just keep it private."

"Does Tracker do it?" she asked.

"I don't know," her owner responded. "He might, but I wouldn't ask him, I think he'd get really embarrassed if you did."

"Wait," she realized, "how does a boy even do that?" she asked.

Maria took another breath before she began the next difficult explanation. Fortunately for her however, the tension was eased by the xolo's amusing expressions as she presumably imagined tracker doing the things she was describing.

"Um, Maria," began Xochi.

Maria giggled. "Are you getting that feeling again?"

The blushing hairless nodded.

"Well," stated the still giggling Maria, "go do what you've got to do," she suggested with a wink.

Xochitl immediately picked up on what she was hinting at and left the room to return to her pup house.

"Strange how a girl human understood this better than a girl pup," pondered Xochitl.

Meanwhile, back in the house, Maria cursed herself.

"Peach fuzz! That was the perfect opportunity to apologize to her. But I failed to see that in the way I failed to see that night that she'd already learned her lesson from the guilt tripping. Soy tan estupida!"

Maria's approach: Compare the way she talks Xochitl about these things with the way Carlos talks to Tracker about them.

What I was trying to accomplish with my last story was to get an idea if people wanted to me to continue the current story or not. Some other story ideas I had, in addition to the alcoholic dog story, were that Skye and Jura attend a family reunion, and one of their relatives is a real jerk to them. Another one was a conversation between Jura and Dr. Turbot about how far he has taken things in the past, and how far he intends/she allows him to go with Rex As always, don't forget to leave a review of any questions comments or concerns.
