Chapter 14
Nature's Course
Xochitl trotted excitedly with her owner as they headed over to Carlos's encampment. "Just think," thought the xoloitzcuntli," once this is all over me and Tracker can see each other again, no secret nighttime meetings, just openly spending time together."
As the two arrived, they noticed Carlos, but he did not seem to be expecting anyone, let alone them.
Maria raised an eyebrow in suspicion, and the xolo gulped as the story she told Maria was beginning to fall apart.
"Well, I didn't stroll out here for nothing," thought Maria, then called over to him.
Carlos looked over, he certainly had not been expecting to see her.
Upon getting his attention, Maria strolled up to him, and began, "Xochitl said you wanted to apologize for what happened over at the shop a few days ago."
"How would she have known that?" wondered Carlos aloud.
"She told me she ran into Tracker and he said so," explained Maria.
"I-I don't recall telling him that," he admitted incredulously.
Maria, realizing Xochi had made up the story, began to turn around to head home.
"Wait!" cried Carlos.
Maria turned around back toward him. Her hands placed firmly on her hips.
"I'm sorry about what happened that day," confessed Carlos, who suddenly felt the Chihuahua's forehead pushing against his lower leg as if urging him to continue. "I overreacted, and you were right about their sexuality anyway."
Maria smiled at Carlos's apology. "Why did you overreact?" she asked.
"I guess I am… jealous," admitted Carlos.
"Of them?" she asked.
The blushing boy nodded guiltily.
"Why?" she asked.
"There's this girl I like … and I can't work up the courage to tell her how I feel… so seeing them like that… just feels really frustrating," said the ashamed naturalist/archaeologist.
"Tell me about this Muchacha?" asked Maria out of genuine curiosity.
"Well," struggled Carlos as he tried to figure out how not to make it too obvious, "she has the same color hair and eyes as I do, her skin is darker than mine, she involves herself with horticulture," he stammered clumsily.
"Hmmmm," began Maria as the gears turned in her head. "Could you close your eyes for a sec," she asked.
Carlos did as she asked only to feel her lips against his and the two kissed. As the kiss broke, Carlos opened his eyes only to see her smiling back at him. He then threw his arms around her and pulled her into another kiss. As the two made out they both slipped into Carlos's tent.
Xochi then smiled back at Tracker and he did likewise to celebrate the success of their plan. The two dogs then brought their muzzles together into a passionate kiss and repeated the process upon breaking it. As the two continue to make out, the passion inside them kept rising until eventually they were both slinking off toward the bushes.
Meanwhile, a bee landed on a nearby rose and proceeded to pollinate.
The End
I wanted to thank my readers for sticking with me for this story, and I hope I didn't cross the line with the sexual content here. Next on the docket, is for me to attempt that story about the alcoholic dog that I've been planning for quite a bit. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this story, and as I mentioned, this story intersected with my final semester of senior year in college, so it had a lot of delays. If you have any ideas for future stories just let me know. I was also thinking of doing something about Rocky dealing with depression, no I am not going to include a suicide attempt, but I might do that he is been having thoughts about that kind of thing. I have been considering using Wildcat, though the big issue there is I do not imagine either Tracker or Rex particularly liking him. I could do something about Everest and Gasket being long-lost relatives of some kind. As I mentioned before, I am willing to include some sexual content. However, not without an actual story. Anyway, don't hesitate to leave a review or p.m. if you have any questions comments or concerns.
