Chapter 19

"We are heading towards the temple of Luke today, prepare yourselves." Infinite announced. We spent most of the day preparing, I sparred with Jess in her blade eater form. She was surprisingly quick, easily dodging my attacks and striking me over and over. "Not bad, but watch this," I predicted where she would be next and slammed the flat side of Infinite's sword in her chest, knocking her down.

"Alright, get ready for my blade ability," Infinite said. "What's a blade ability?" I asked. "A blade ability is an unique ability a blade can do, typically, a blade has three of them, for instance, mine is Abysmal Speed, granting my driver the ability to move to the speed of light while Avalon's is Winter Night, slowing down enemies on the field.".

I nodded and got ready, the wings activated and a surge of power filled my veins. My eyes and mask began glowing purple and I charged at Rose, who could barely keep up. Of course, I could pick whether I wanted to do physical or ethereal damage, I picked ether so I wouldn't kill my sister.

She fell down to one knee "Damn, you move really fast.". I helped her up and we went inside the house. "We're leaving soon, I hope I'll see you again.". I gave her a hug and joined everyone outside and we set off into the distance. The beautiful emerald grass and golden leafed trees swayed in the wind. We didn't have to move too quickly so we admired all the beautiful scenery in Ischyros.

We eventually arrived, and were greeted by a sight. "That's a pretty damn big tomb, don't cha think?" Jess exclaimed. 'Pretty big' was an understatement, it was a 50 feet temple made on some stone engraved into a mountain. A supposed depiction of Luke with yet ANOTHER hood looked at the ground holding Infinite's sword. A few pillars were levitating off the ground, I wasn't sure how. "So how do we enter this one huh?" I asked Infinite.

"I kept the key of this tomb on me, so we can easily enter," he pulled out an odd looking key and stuck it into a keyhole in the entrance. The entire structure glowed and blue lines of energy surged and the pillars floated a little higher. "You sure that this isn't some giant machine," Ace said in awe. "Funny you should mention that," Infinite grinned as we were walking inside.

"Holy crud," I spun around to get a better view of the massive room we were now in. The building already seemed large, but the room was bigger than it appeared outside. The inside was made of some reflective black metal and had lines of blue energy in the walls and floors. "Well I see you've done the easy part for us," a familiar voice said behind us. In the doorway leaned three figures, Occisor, Caroline and Alexander.

"What do you lot want this time?" Ace nocked an arrow and drew the string tight. I pulled out my half of the sword and Infinite gave me his, I had never dual wielded, but it felt comfortable. "Well well well, it seems the stage is set and the curtain is ready to be drawn for a spectacular show!" Alexander said theatrically as his blade tossed him his gloves. "Enough talk," Occisor barked as he pointed his absurdly long katana at Infinite "I want a rematch.".

They ran at us and we met them in battle. Jess and Ace were fighting Caroline, who in my mask indicated, was moving at Mach 2. Steve fought against Alexander, they took turns countering each other's slow yet heavy blows "Earthquake!" Alexander uttered, slamming his fist in the floor, but Steve jumped and avoided the attack, which isn't easy if you're a nopon who is only 3 feet tall.

Meanwhile, me and Infinite were engaging Occisor in pure swordplay, both of us were easily moving at speeds that would have made a normal human dizzy. Despite his very long katana, Occisor was able to twirl and move around with grace. Abysmal Speed hit and suddenly he was having trouble keeping up with me. I could feel the familiar surge of power as I relentlessly sliced my sword again and again at him. In one decisive strike, I sent him flying to join his exhausted and beaten up teammates. "They're all yours Ace" I cheered as he pointed his bow upwards and used Heaven's Bolt.

Before any of them could get hit by it, a figure jumped up and redirected all of the bolts back at us. Our blades shielded all of us, but it knocked us back slightly. When the dust settled, the person who deflected them was none other than Corvin. But he seemed… different. He still had his blue eyes and blonde hair, but his entire body was surging with some sort of energy. He was wearing blue armour, similar to Occisor's although his eyes glowed blue intensely, there was no emotion in them.

"Well finally now the showdown truly starts to happen," a voice behind Corvin said. It was Silverius, he was wearing a grey cloak that stretched from his neck down to his legs and a shirt that had small pieces of armour on them and had simple white pants. "More of you eh? Let's go then!" Ace shot another arrow at Corvin but he deflected it and the arrow struck Ace in the thigh.

"You good?" I kept my eyes on both of them and readied my sword. "I'll live," he grumbled as Wildcard helped him to his feet while Jess healed him. They moved towards us at blinding speed, striking all of us down except Infinite. The injuries didn't even register yet, and suddenly, I felt as if I had been beat up by a gigantic metal fist. "Hey, Infinite, you're coming with us." Silverius said. "How about no?" Infinite said before he got hurled into a wall by Corvin. A bright flash of purple energy flared and there Corvin back.

"Heh, I forgot how fast you were," he drew his sword and lunged at Silverius and tackled him with his sword on his chest. "I wouldn't do that if I were you," he chuckled. Corvin had picked me up and put his sword against my neck. Atlas's blades formed a cannon and he locked on Corvin. "Don't do it Atlas," Infinite said, I could feel the complication and hesitation from Infinite's mind, we were linked after all. Just one slice would kill Silverius, but that would mean that Corvin would kill me. "Very well," he sighed, getting up "I'll go with you." and he got a hard punch from Silverius, knocking him out.

Corvin dropped me and I started protesting but Infinite shut me up with a glare that would have frozen the entire ocean. "The cube," Corvin asked me. I looked at Infinite, who nodded and I reluctantly gave him the cube and he took the other cube from this tomb. "Pathetic," he mocked me "Being unable to protect your own blade, who even are you?" he said before he kicked me in the face and knocked me out.
