Chapter Eighteen
(SPOILER: Yes it is implied towards the end of this chapter that they sleep together. No, I was not going to write all the details. I'm not into that. If you are, just use your imagination lol.)
It was the morning of the wedding. As they all got ready to go to the venue Emma was curious to know whether or not he'd show. Liv wore a different dress from the last time, she wore just a plain black dress, while Emma wore a blue dress with flowers on it, Noah wore a cute little four piece suit. They arrived at the venue and sat in their seats. Emma looked around and didn't see him.
They later made their way to the place where the reception was being held. Noah was mostly excited for the cake. They ate their dinner and started talking to their friends. Fin walked over to where Liv was sitting.
"Liv, I'm sorry. I couldn't convince him to come." Fin said, sitting next to her.
"What are you talking about?" Liv asked.
"Elliot, Emma asked me to get him to come." Fin explained. Emma kicked him underneath the table.
Elliot, still living in Jersey with his mom, was having a nice quiet night in with his family. "Why didn't you go tonight?" Eli asked, rolling some dice for they were playing Monopoly.
"Not now Eli," Elliot said.
"What is he talking about?" Elliot's mother asked. Elliot didn't answer.
"Fin's wedding. He was supposed to be Olivia's plus one."
"You mean Benson? She's such a wonderful lady."
"Mom, what are you talking about?"
"Oh she came here years ago, not too long after you came here wanting me to help Katy. She is the sweetest woman. You really should be with her."
"Thanks mom, but that's really none of your business." Elliot said, moving his piece across the board.
"They kissed," Eli said with a little laugh.
"Elliot, why aren't you at the wedding?" his mother asked.
"Because Liv doesn't want me there."
"And why's that?" she asked.
"I screwed up. Again."
"Well get off your ass and go and fix it." his mother pleaded. "If you don't, you and your son are on the streets tonight."
Elliot got up knowing his mother was serious. "Fine." Elliot walked to his room and got his suit on and came down stairs. "You're never going to make it in time." Elio pointed out.
"Not if I use my lights." Elliot said, leaving.
Back at the reception Noah was slow dancing with Liv, until Noah felt a tap on his back.
"Elliot!" The boy yelled.
"May I?" Elliot asked, wanting to slow dance with Liv.
"El, what are you doing here?" Liv asked, as they started slow dancing.
"Did you see my mom when Kathleen was on trial?" Elliot asked, completely ignoring her question.
"She needed help. You didn't answer my question."
"You didn't really answer mine either."
"You first."
"Eli basically told me to stop being an ass. Your turn."
"You and Kathy weren't agreeing on anything regarding Kathleen's trial. And you clearly didn't get anywhere with your mother yourself. So I took matters into my own hands."
"Thanks Liv." Elliot said.
After the song was over Elliot made his way over to the table. "Hey," Elliot said, saying hello to Emma.
"You came!" Emma said, hugging him.
"Yeah, you were right."
"About what?"
"Everything." Emma smiled.
"Stabler, you son of a bitch." Fin said, greeting Elliot.
"Hey, congrats man." Elliot said, shaking his hands.
People started to leave one by one. "Mom, can we go to Aunt Amanda's house?" Noah asked.
"Is she ok with that?" Liv asked.
"Yeah, she said Jesse wants me to come over! Emma is coming too." Noah explained.
"I mean if she's ok with that." Liv said she made her way over to Amanda. "Hey, are you sure you want to take Emma and Noah tonight?"
"Yeah, Carisi's coming over as well. He's watching my kids tomorrow while I go to court."
"So things are going well with Carisi?"
"I guess so."
"You and Stabler?" Amanda asked.
"We're… working on it." She said looking at Elliot playing with the kids. "Oh, I have a bag for Noah and Emma in my car. You know, just in case." Olivia walked Amanda and the kids out to the car. Carisi grabbed the bag from Liv's car and said goodnight. Liv said Emma could take the car and go to a friend's house instead of going to Amanda's. Liv said goodnight to Emma and Noah and walked back to find Elliot.
"You know you're really good with kids." Liv said, handing Elliot a glass of wine.
"I mean five kids would do that to you. You're a good mom too Liv. I'm really glad it worked out for you." They both looked at each other. "Ever thought about having biological ones?" Liv shot him a shut up look. "What? Women your age still can have kids."
"You know what? Shut up Elliot."
Elliot looked at his watch. "It's getting late."
"Drive me home?" Liv asked.
Liv followed Elliot to his car. It was a bit of a drive to the apartment. Elliot walked Liv back up to her apartment.
"You want to come in?" Liv asked.
"Sure," Elliot said.
"Can I get you anything? Tea? Coffee?" She said, walking in towards the kitchen, throwing her purse on the breakfast counter.
"Coffee's fine." Elliot said, looking around Liv's apartment. Elliot walked over to the entertainment center she had. She had various different CDs and a nice looking old fashion CD player. Elliot took an Ed Sheran CD off the shelf and put it into the CD player. "Here," Olivia said, handing Elliot his coffee. Elliot took it and set it on the coffee table. He pressed play and "Thinking Out Loud" came on. Elliot grabbed Olivia's hands and started slowly dancing. Just swaying back. "Elliot, what are we doing?" Olivia asked, pulling her hand away and stopped dancing. Elliot put his forehead against hers. He took her hands again and they started dancing again.
"Why'd you leave?" Liv asked, as they kept dancing.
"I was afraid."
"Afraid of what?"
"You, me, us."
"And?"
"And everything. The case, mainly. I'm just afraid-"
"Ellio?" Liv said, cutting him off.
"Yeah?"
"Just shut up." she said, continuing their dance.
As the song continued Elliot put his hands on Olivia's waist. He brushed a piece of her hair. His hand now in her hair. Liv moved her hand onto Elliot's cheek. He moved in and kissed her. The kiss deepened to the point where they moved into the bedroom.
"Wait, wait, wait," Elliot said, pulling away from her. "Are you sure?" Olivia nodded her head.
Elliot had spent the night at Olivia's house without thinking what others would think. It was just him and her, at the moment. It was 8:00 in the morning when Liv rolled over and put her head on his chest.
"Good morning," she said.
"Morning," he said.
"What time is it?" Liv asked.
Elliot looked over at the night stand to look at the clock, "Eight." Just then they heard a loud knock on the door. "I'll get it," Elliot said, and got up and put on his underwear and pants
